I’ve known about for many years though, haven’t come across in business, only study. Pros I’ve used visual paradigm for study and am amazed at how useful this product is for software modelling. It’s implementation of UML is great and and I haven’t come across any software the handles use case diagrams with documentation as well as visual paradigm. Cons The user interface is not vary intuitive, trying to find shortcuts or the feature that I know is there, is not necessarily straight forward. The first time I used it, it seemed complicated but you get the hang of it really soon. It supports all UML diagrams which is really good as this is important if you're in the field of software development. I haven't updated the application since the day I got it but I never felt like I missed anything. Visual Paradigm has everything you need in one place to draw the diagrams you need and unlike other diagramming tools, you can very easily make your diagram neat without lines all over the place. Pros I mostly used Visual Paradigm for my assignments in university. I tried many different software that were recommended by my friends for diagramming but Visual Paradigm is by far the best tool, especially if you are looking to draw UML diagrams. The thing about UML diagrams is that it has a standard notation, and this is something that the other software misses on. Visual Paradigm follows standards ensuring that your diagrams look professional and are following the UML standards. Other software just have so many varieties that the diagrams end up looking informal and like you drew it using some design tool instead of a diagramming tool. If you need to draw diagrams that are up to standard, I highly suggest you use Visual Paradigm. And it also has a web version now so you don't need the desktop application and I personally prefer this over the application. Cons One thing that put me off a bit about Visual Paradigm is that its user interface is not exactly modern and sleek. It looks outdated but this is purely personal preference. Other than that, it doesn't open up really fast but this too is dependent on your machine. It might take a bit of getting used to but its not complicated to figure out. Oh, and it doesn't have an option to collaborate on the desktop application but it does on the web. Switched from [Lucidchart](https://www.capterra.com/p/146136/Lucidchart/) I tried both Lucidchart and draw.io and the reason I tried Lucidchart was because it was recommended to me to be a very easy-to-use tool. My experience with it was subpar. It did offer diagramming tools but it was subscription based so some features were behind a paywall and the diagrams looked nice but don't professional or standard. I used draw.io because of its collaborative features. I was not aware of Visual Paradigm's collaboration option at this time. When I submitted my assignment, my feedback was whether I actually used a diagramming tool or if I just drew it using some design tool and that it was really messy. This is why I switched back to Visual Paradigm, because standard is key in UML and Visual Paradigm is the only diagramming tool that focuses on this aspect. Review Source HH Hector H. Pros Is the best price to feature ratio on any diagramming software, has a lot of features, you can create a repo and manage the diagrams with version control, you can add a lot of presets and stereotypes saving time while creating new diagrams. Cons Buggy, It has a bug that if press Right Click it automatically selects an option instead of just showing the context menu, we had a week of downtime due to a bug, customer service took a while, made us update our version and created an specific build to fix our issue but it took time Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Software Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "visual paradigm software testing" September 23, 2023 5.0 very positive considering the fact that i worked with different UML software this one is one of the top softwares when it comes to creating Use case diagram , sequence diagrams, activity diagrams etc. Pros 1-the functionality and the UX is beyond amazing everything is clear and visible and can be seen and understood from one glance2- the arrows of the software are easily manipulated and don't give a hard time moving them where you want to move them. Cons 1-the overall design looks a bit too old and needs some changing to look more new there's not much flexibility with the sidebar2-some of the drag and drop tools gets dismantled pretty quickly3-the software loading after picking up a template is way too slow compared to other softwares. The application is just good and stable. The one time I did encounter an issue an update was provided within 24hrs! Isn't that awesome!? Pros The desktop modeler is a very mature product with many different use cases. You can really model your entire business. From business strategy (using business motivation model) to operational models or system design models. Visual Paradigm comes with a cloud repository that is very powerful. Cons The look and feel is a bit outdated for 2021 standards having its last update in 2013 or so. The application is all javascript which has as benefit that is runs with the same look and feel on win/mac/lin, but it is a bit clunky. Pros It can be used for a wide range of tasks, including project management, brainstorming, database design, and information management and processing. And all of this while working with the same product, interface, and workflow. Cons The connections on diagrams can be a little strange at times, and hard-coded structures have some limitations. Pros I can't think of a single Diagram that I haven't found in this one, its many features make it an extremely useful software, the longer I use it, the more features are added.It's a very convenient software, if one needs UML diagrams, they're all there, if your need are process analysis, system design, or even database design, look no further, it's all there. Cons Because of the multitude of diagrams and features available, it sure takes a long time to learn, I have yet to find another software that offers everything this one has to offer, therefore I'm sticking with it for the long run. It's a must have product for any software engineer or system designer, as it'll make your life easier. The community version has all the necessary features I need. Pros Drawing UML or ERD diagrams is extremely easy with Visual Paradigm. It has a very navigable interface with drag and drop functionality the makes the whole design process easy and user friendly. The learning curve is manageable and if you're stuck there is plenty of documentation to help you out. Cons The only issue I have is that I always find it hard to work with the shortcuts provided to some of the tools. Either the shortcuts don't work or it's hard to find the correct shortcut. Pros \- First of all visually this software is very attractive because the diagram created by user are visually very clear and clean - Now recently I have experienced that they are now giving their service in web as well which is a quite big step from them because its a very commonly used desktop application regarding designing flows - User can export its diagram in png formate - User can also import its diagram from Visio , draw.io and that feature is that which make ease for the users - Plenty of diagram templates where user can easily select the template and start diagramming. Cons \- I think their should be option to export the diagram into docs file and as well as in csv file because I couldn't find that feature.
