It is a great product if you do not want to focus on too much and want a simple software. If you have a lot of employees I would say this is not for you though. Pros Very simple design with making employees clock in and out. The corrections to payroll is very easy in the system by the admins before finalizing. Overall it was a great product we used for year to keep track of all the hours with no issues at all. Cons Set up for an employee was a little hard. There is a lot of option to fill out and takes too much time especially if you have a high turn over rate or lots of employees. We only had to pay for the initial product (no monthly fees) and then when new cards are needed, they are purchased. This has made it easier to keep track of coming and going of employees. Pros I no longer have to write down everyone's time in & out of the office. Can focus on my bookkeeping duties mores. Cons Would like to see if make a different sound if someone uses a credit card instead of their time card (yes, this happens). If a different sound was made, it would alert the person that this is not a time card. Instead, what is does is make a new entry for an unassigned card. Then you have to look at every body to see who is missing a log in or out and make the correction. Reasons for choosing TimeTrax PC It looked like it would be easy to use and cheap. Pros I've never had an issue with the accuracy of records (punches in and out) Cons Way too limited in terms of the number of pay periods it stores. Very difficult to remove employees from the list. Also the swipe cards have a very limited life. Most of our employees work in a dirty environment and their cards frequently become defective. There must be a better system than swipe cards. Something more like a bar code that they could scan would be much more effective than those magnetic strips. Before we would use a manual time clock and I had to calculate the employee's hours myself. Now on payday I log into the software and can easily see when everyone clocked in and out each day. Cons The total hours worked is displayed in hours and minutes. For example, if an employee worked 80 hours and 30 minutes, it displays 80:30. I have to manually calculate it to 80.5 hours. Not a huge deal, but would be more convenient if it would do that for me. (We couldn't locate the original install disk) They refused to allow us to simply download our version so we could reinstall it on the new machine. This is a very poor customer service policy! Pros Easy to use software. Not much of a learning curve at all! Cons Replacement software policy. We lost the original installation disk and they insisted we re-purchase it.
