Pros You can download your exam before hand, but that's nothing special. You could download a file from an email for decades. Cons It's very stressful in not knowing if the program will crash. The preparation for the program is irritating, it makes you re-register even if you're using the same account... at the same school.... on the same computer.... in the same program.... it's not user-friendly. Most examination are OPEN BOOK, they don't require the system to be locked down by this invasive program. Best software I have used of its kind. Pros Loved it. Absolutely loved this software. Being the principal of a high school, and especially due to the pandemic we had to find a secure software to allow students to do there assignments and examinations. This software was very easy to use and would definitely recommend this to all my colleagues. Cons There is barely no problems I had with this software and when I did, it was quickly resolved by the customer service. Quiz on Canvas or Lockdown browser works better than examsoft. Pros Nice for in person quiz in class. No direct video screen monitoring but it will close background apps but require proctor in exam. Good experience of giving quiz and in classroom exam Cons Not user friendly. I don't know why software wants to have specific processor for optimal performance. Sometimes it creates problem in uploading quiz as examsoft disconnect network and you will have hard time in uploading. Solid product that does what you need it to. Pros ExamSoft is not complicated. It interfaces easily and displays cleanly. It is also good for longer essay exams due to word count features and auto spell checker. Cons Doesn't have a lot of "features", but doesn't necessarily need them either. Maybe some more ways for the user to customize things in terms of view, but usually most features are set by the administrator/exam giver. Pros ExamSoft facilitated remote exams like the Bar Exam when in-person ones got canceled because of COVID. This was important. The user interface is not difficult. Cons The software can be glitchy, such as telling users they've already taken an exam when they haven't, and forcing them to call customer service for an override. Uploads also take a while. The remote proctoring software seems very sensitive to even small issues such as looking out the window or away from the screen for a few seconds.
