However, we had to write our own integrations to customize the site for our needs Pros I really like the customizability, and the amount of features offered. Pipeline is great, calendar is great, statistics/analytics that we can see is amazing Cons Sometimes it feels a bit rigid, and would like a bit more customizability. It's difficult to determine if we've outgrown Tutor cruncher because our business has grown or if Tudor cruncher just doesn't have the capabilities that we need or want in a system Pros Tudor cruncher has significantly simplified our invoicing process and saved us time at the end of the month on that aspect of our business. It has also worked well for sharing tutoring needs with our teachers and tutors Cons The limitations around putting multiple parents on one account has caused a lot of headache. Additionally, the lack of clarity and consistency on the billing side has caused frustration and concerns. We've also been frustrated with the system reverting back to stripe when we have set clients up on the direct debit go cardless option and that has caused a client to be charged when they should not have been charged. Further, the ability to make adjustments to a bill once a payment order has been sent has caused us to have to pay fees multiple times because we've just had to delete the invoice and resend it and then it's confusing on the client's end because it looks like they've been billed twice. Additionally, we have locations and tutors in three cities and while many of the jobs are virtual, so open to any team member. Better that what we had before and easy to use within it's parameters. But it's still expensive to use and not the most user friendly. Support is great. Pros It has nearly all of the features required to run a tutoring business and has helpful tutorials that I can send to clients and tutors, instead of spending time explaining to them how to use it. Cons Lots of bugs when trying to login. I and my tutors encounter these regularly. I have highlighted these to the admins but they don't seem to think there is an issue. The fees and Stripe Split payments system is very expensive and is too slow to release funds. Tutors are not happy that they have to wait 7 working days to get paid. " September 24, 2024 3.0 TutorCruncher seems to be a small company that is spreading themselves too thin. Their main platform has great potential, but it either works for you or it doesn't. There is no customization unless you hire a developer, but then you have to pay around $200 a month to be able to access whitelabeling and custom CSS. Currently the company is looking to add additional features without fixing old issues that are making their system outdated. We are looking for other options. Pros TutorCruncher is a robust platform with a primary focus of supporting tutoring businesses in the UK. Although our business is located in the US, the platform still does a great job with managing some of the basics. With TutorCruncher, you can offer private and group classes online or in person. You can also automate sending out links (using 3rd part conferencing platforms) for upcoming sessions. You can easily bill your clients and tally up payments for tutors and trainers. Cons TutorCruncher has made it very very apparent that they are focused on increasing revenue. With several of their last updates, you can see that additional charges are going to be added. For example, you can white label the platform, but you have to pay $100 a month for the domain and now they want another $100 to utilize custom CSS... Really???? And the problem is that it is not intuitive whitelabeling.. .you need a coder to get this set up and continue to maintain for you. The next part that has been a massive fail is their attempt to offer a video platform with recorded sessions for students. Their system has been slow, buggy and more expensive than other proven technologies... Instead, they should focus on ALLOWING their integrated video platforms to easy share video recording access... THat would be a huge win for their customers. Everything that is added is based on the UK, so they add new features that really are relevant to the tax system in the UK. (from billing and payment perspective) Now they are thinking about adding in an LMS... Personally this is too little too late. With so many robust LMS options out there and with the poor quality from their launch of their video platform, I feel they are putting their efforts in new ways to generate revenue rather than improving the clunky experience of their current platform. Customer service is poor. If I ever have an issue, I am either told it is a feature that is coming, but never does, or that I need a developer to figure it out. Director Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Emerson Tuition" June 18, 2024 4.0 It does the job, but is clunky to use, their are often bugs and agents are not well trained enough to help and language is a barrier. Pros The ability for tutors to do their own invoicing and split payments work well and keep us below the VAT threshold. Cons The customer service is terrible. The agents try their best, but language barriers seem to be an issue. The questions don't get answered fully the first time round, there is a lot of back and forth until the agent understands what you mean, often you figure out the answer yourself in the process (by elimination) and I have been given wrong information in the past, such as that it is possible to split payment three ways - it is not!! This then caused issues with tutor payments. It would be good if this feature was available, it looks like it should be - but then it doesn't work with Stripe. I have met several members of the team and the support is very responsive. I am set on using this software now and pleased to see the innovations taking place and know they have ambitious future plans and are keen to listen to user feedback and ideas. Many thanks! Pros Once set up and you have got your head around all the functionality the basic day to day processes are very simple. You get great weekly analytics summaries of how the business is progressing (although a monthly summary email would be also really useful!) and the invoicing system works well for tutors and parents. Cons Some of the analytics on the dashboard could be more detailed. I would like the option to view turnover and profit figures inclusive of the Stripe fees. Plus the ability to clearly compare a certain period this year with last year's data to aid analysing business progress. (like Xero offers). Finally if there was a way to add a business forecasting feature to see how the business does against projections would also be really useful and save me time and expense having to do all this manually outside of the platform on spreadsheets.
