Better that what we had before and easy to use within it's parameters. Pros everything is linked so many different ways to navigate through options Cons In general, TC can be difficult to use for training of larger numbers (up to 12 usually) and recent export option changes do not work for us. It's difficult to determine if we've outgrown Tutor cruncher because our business has grown or if Tudor cruncher just doesn't have the capabilities that we need or want in a system Pros Tudor cruncher has significantly simplified our invoicing process and saved us time at the end of the month on that aspect of our business. It has also worked well for sharing tutoring needs with our teachers and tutors Cons The limitations around putting multiple parents on one account has caused a lot of headache. Additionally, the lack of clarity and consistency on the billing side has caused frustration and concerns. We've also been frustrated with the system reverting back to stripe when we have set clients up on the direct debit go cardless option and that has caused a client to be charged when they should not have been charged. Further, the ability to make adjustments to a bill once a payment order has been sent has caused us to have to pay fees multiple times because we've just had to delete the invoice and resend it and then it's confusing on the client's end because it looks like they've been billed twice. Additionally, we have locations and tutors in three cities and while many of the jobs are virtual, so open to any team member. But it's still expensive to use and not the most user friendly. Support is great. Pros It has nearly all of the features required to run a tutoring business and has helpful tutorials that I can send to clients and tutors, instead of spending time explaining to them how to use it. Cons Lots of bugs when trying to login. I and my tutors encounter these regularly. I have highlighted these to the admins but they don't seem to think there is an issue. The fees and Stripe Split payments system is very expensive and is too slow to release funds. Tutors are not happy that they have to wait 7 working days to get paid. " September 24, 2024 3.0 TutorCruncher seems to be a small company that is spreading themselves too thin. Their main platform has great potential, but it either works for you or it doesn't. There is no customization unless you hire a developer, but then you have to pay around $200 a month to be able to access whitelabeling and custom CSS. Currently the company is looking to add additional features without fixing old issues that are making their system outdated. We are looking for other options. Pros TutorCruncher is a robust platform with a primary focus of supporting tutoring businesses in the UK. Although our business is located in the US, the platform still does a great job with managing some of the basics. With TutorCruncher, you can offer private and group classes online or in person. You can also automate sending out links (using 3rd part conferencing platforms) for upcoming sessions. You can easily bill your clients and tally up payments for tutors and trainers. Cons TutorCruncher has made it very very apparent that they are focused on increasing revenue. With several of their last updates, you can see that additional charges are going to be added. For example, you can white label the platform, but you have to pay $100 a month for the domain and now they want another $100 to utilize custom CSS... Really???? And the problem is that it is not intuitive whitelabeling.. .you need a coder to get this set up and continue to maintain for you. The next part that has been a massive fail is their attempt to offer a video platform with recorded sessions for students. Their system has been slow, buggy and more expensive than other proven technologies... Instead, they should focus on ALLOWING their integrated video platforms to easy share video recording access... THat would be a huge win for their customers. Everything that is added is based on the UK, so they add new features that really are relevant to the tax system in the UK. (from billing and payment perspective) Now they are thinking about adding in an LMS... Personally this is too little too late. With so many robust LMS options out there and with the poor quality from their launch of their video platform, I feel they are putting their efforts in new ways to generate revenue rather than improving the clunky experience of their current platform. Customer service is poor. If I ever have an issue, I am either told it is a feature that is coming, but never does, or that I need a developer to figure it out. May 31, 2022 5.0 We have found the customer service team really helpful in enabling us to role out the use of Tutor Cruncher slowly as we were very nervous we could end up in a digital muddle. Pros I had been aware of Tutor Cruncher for over a year but thought it was expensive at first. Eventually, I found myself and my admin spending hours on tasks that were not bringing in any revenue and decided to look into it further. We took the plunge and have never looked back. Tutor Cruncher is literally saving us hours of administration time every month meaning that we can spend more time matching our clients and tutors together. The Client Pipeline feature is fantastic for tracking leads. We were losing leads before due to not having the time to do follow ups. We've also saved money in not having to have a separate mailing system to keep our clients up to date with new products and offers. If you were like us, wondering how it could make a difference, give the free one month trial a go before you get so busy chasing paper. Cons I'd love to see an improvement on being able to create sub sets of files in the uploaded documents section. Their knowledge base is really user friendly and the team members themselves have consistently made themselves available to provide specific support and respond to queries as we have made them. I very much appreciate the collaborative approach, particularly in relation to the development of new features and system improvements. Pros TutorCruncher has made a significant difference to our activity as a business - a range of functions that have really helped us to centralise information, run and provide analytics for a range of stakeholders and have robust records for delivery, client payments and tutor payments etc. Functionality such as the creation of enrolment forms that can be embedded onto our webpages has improved customer experience significantly. Cons There are some nuances to the software that we didn't necessarily appreciate the value of in our initial set up phase, which we are now backtracking on! It would be great to have the 'availability' function track across all branches within the organisation so that branch managers can see the full picture of tutor availability. Similarly, it would be great if there could be a process of cloning/duplicating JOBS - this would be a major timesaver for the way that we use the system currently. Pros Once set up and you have got your head around all the functionality the basic day to day processes are very simple. You get great weekly analytics summaries of how the business is progressing (although a monthly summary email would be also really useful!) and the invoicing system works well for tutors and parents. Cons Some of the analytics on the dashboard could be more detailed. I would like the option to view turnover and profit figures inclusive of the Stripe fees. Plus the ability to clearly compare a certain period this year with last year's data to aid analysing business progress. (like Xero offers). Finally if there was a way to add a business forecasting feature to see how the business does against projections would also be really useful and save me time and expense having to do all this manually outside of the platform on spreadsheets. Programme Supervisor Education Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Recent bugs " May 24, 2024 4.0 We recently experienced some bugs in creating a new tutor profile. We hired a few tutors in March and created the accounts of Tutorcrunch for them. However, all of the new accounts registered in March have disappeared suddenly without any record/history left behind. We know there is a function in TC to check the history of any action. But those affected accounts have disappeared and no record. They just liked not being created. Those tutors have to re-do the setup to their account. This is quite inconvenient for them. Pros The tutors' availbility is amazing for communicating with tutors in different time zones. Cons 1\. The calendar only shows one time zone, we need to switch every time in the setting. 2. If the calendar can be default set as showing 00:00-23:59, it would be best, because we need to manually press something to show more time on the calendar.
