When I unsubscribed I still had to pay for 50% of the remaining subscription. Fortunately, the college agreed to reimburse me. I was curious about creating some spec Captivate presentations to illustrate novels that I've taught in the past, however, I did not have the time to pursue this idea. I think it's an area that has been overlooked. I'd be curious to know if any companies are developing literature supplements with Captivate. Pros My college students used Captivate in the capstone (final) course in their college media production program. Cons They caught on quickly but the software had limited options for exporting to other Premiere programs. The Captivate software was required along with a very expensive text for a ten-week course. The requirement for a year-long subscription was excessive. We spent the first weeks in class using on-line tutorials and then they used the trial period to create their projects. Colleges I teach at regularly require instructors to take Captivate-created policy presentations that keep staff on the same page. However, the information seems overly simplified and can be read and comprehended much faster than a Captivate presentation takes to play. Suggestion: Partner with Notes to create tutorials on literature. I think Captivate could be employed in other knowledge endeavors besides presenting boilerplate policy lessons for businesses and academics. Review Source JC Janene C. Import info from other applications. A great program. Cons It requires annual licensing and projects are stored in a format that requires the program to view them. We are pending funding to purchase, but if I had a choice this is the LMS I would choose - I build most of my course material using Adobe Captivate so using Prime seems like a natural progression. I just wish the pricing was a little more competitive. Pros You really can't beat an LMS that is so streamlined to the Adobe Captivate software. A click of a button has your course published SCORM compliant. Without any hand holding I was able to click through every menu, load courses, classes and materials. Customizing the page to our company colors and logos was ridiculously easy, too. I was impressed with the reporting tools - everything I would want as a corporate trainer is included. It doesn't get any more user friendly than Adobe Captivate Prime LMS. Cons The cost of Adobe Captivate is not as competitive as other LMS software we've looked into Review Source Jeremy D. Cons When dealing with audios, it can be a bit cumbersome to replace them. Working on a translation agency, changing audios with the localised version is something we need to do very often and sometimes these tasks are not so easy to do with the tool. November 7, 2017 5.0 E-Learning is a great way to provide corporate training and has a lot of practical applications. Adobe allows for customized e-Learning courses with many options to the admins. Pros The biggest pro is that the software has a ton of capabilities. I give it a 5 in overall quality because I think what Adobe has done is fantastic in terms of the other competition. When I compare it to other e-Learning softwares I think Adobe Captivate Prime takes the cake with the LMS integration, and easy to understand (not intuitive without training) features, the software is ahead of its time. Cons I think other e-Learning creation tools will start to pass up Adobe Captivate Prime if they do not continue to make updates to make it easier to use. Users need to go through intense training to learn how to use the software (let alone to understand the educational philosophies of creating a good training). I think we will see a day when there is very little to no training required in order to navigate e-Learning creation software. Pros Ease of Use and easy to upload courses. Admin functionality is very minimum Cons Support issues take forever to resolve and have to wait till there normal release cycle before any bugs can be fixed or enhancement needs consensus from large group. Reports cannot be customized and limited to given functionality. I requested two reports but never even heard anything from them. Overall customer service I am not in favor off. Does meet all the basic needs.However, it does not look or feel like a new modern product. Pros It worked. The materials were readable and accessible. Cons It does not flow. Sometimes you have to X out of the part you are in, sometimes you have to hit the back arrow, if you choose the wrong one you go back to the home learning page. The link to see more courses is small and at the bottom (on the learning home page). It is odd that you have an arrow to show the next set of courses and then after page 2 you must hit a different "show more courses" button on the other side. Basically, you have two different methods to do the same thing, no consistency on how to get to the other courses. The look and feel, to me, seem outdated already.
