The onboarding / customer support is great. Lots of ressources on the web. A bit tricky to find the right way to structure the topics on maps and which level of detail you want to show. I guess this applies for every roadmap but you need to match your expectation to the tool and therefore get to know the tool. Be prepared to invest some time ;) Pros Really easy to get started but with a lot of depth and possibilities to build detailed maps. Great onboarding. Cons We haven't been working long with the tool. I guess there might be limitations in visualizsation but Roadmunk is constantly expanding features. We are not sure if we'll continue after this first year ended. Pros It's looking very good and are easy to use in workshop Cons We are working with external customers in Roadmunk. - Few Users type. Need more (Admin, Read/Write, Read etc) - We are missing possibility for reviewer (customer) to add items. I.e customer has their own roadmap, they cant add possible items for us to work with together and to include in Roadmunk roadmap. It's wrong process to do it with Ideas. - Missing possibility to add pictures in Description and comments. - Sometimes hard to understand the menu when you are in a roadmap and want to go to another. Pros Roadmunk is useful for visualizing timelines and milestones for just about any project you decide to use it for, though it's probably best-used for IT purposes. Cons There can be issues with timeline visualization when going between a spreadsheet with all of your projects, milestones, and dependencies, and translating that to timeline format. I can create a URL at the click of a button that users can view without a license. It's an interactive program and I still have much to learn, but in just using the basics, I have found it solid and useful. Pros The best feature for Rodmunk is the ability to provide a URL for your roadmap that users can see without having to have a license. This way, others int eh company can follow progress with just clicking on a link which saves on time and I don't have to send email updates. Cons The interface is a little clunky at first but has a very quick learning curve. There are many features I have still not learned to use but will with time. Review Source ER Eric R. Using Roadmunk helped everyone on the team to have visibility into our upcoming priorities, and give input on them. It's really helped us to knock down the silos. Pros The visibility and shareability are key. For the technical and marketing etc teams to just make their project management software open to the rest of the team sounded great, but it gave zero understanding, as it gets too far into the weeds to be useful. Being able to simply layout the high level course and share it around was a huge asset. Cons All the software in this vertical is fairly expensive on a per user basis, but in the end, anything less expensive lacked the individual focus on roadmapping. Review Source DF Diego F. Pros The main use for Roadmunk in my organization is to provide visibility of Epic progress, conflicts and potential risks on the progress of our development intiatives. Integration with Jira has been incredibly useful as we can provide exposure of progress to upper management on very comprehensive way and it provides tools for open discussions. These would have been very difficult using native Jira reporting tools. Cons My organization has a complex structure and providing reports or view access to different level of users has been a challenge, but I believe it's based on the nature of our own structure and not a flaw in the platform. Also it is a great visualization tools to clearly define and set when specific objectives will be completed. It was easy for me to update my roadmap and make it easily understood to my internal stakeholders. Even better, because it is a web app, I don't have to constantly refresh a PowerPoint that would get lost on someone's drive, or worse -- be shared without my permission. That alone is worth the money. Since a roadmap is a living thing, having it live is way better than trapping it in a presentation. Cons Sometimes it was buggy and you'd click and nothing happened. I can see what's coming and I know nothing is being dropped or forgotten. Pros I love that this tool is great for visual learners. It keeps me on top of big projects and helps me feel in control at work. I quickly glance at my roadmap and know what I need to do for the next 30 days. It's a great tool. Cons I would like for it to be easier to add tasks and projects in bulk instead of individually. Also, a lot of projects are reoccurring.
