Pros

The user interface and multiple simulation tools

Cons

That does not bring a CAD designer, it is only simulation, few post-processing options

### "Simscale after a 1.5 years"

November 25, 2020

5.0

Very positive experience. When I had questions about the product I had very enthusiatic assistance from the simscale support team. I also very much enjoy the Simscale forum. It is an open place to discuss simulations, and any questions you might regarding the product.

Pros

I really like the ability to create multiple simulations to run parallel. Also the large offering of post processing allows for very informational and diverse results to be presented.

Cons

Sometimes it was a bit confusing what could create a simulation fail. This could have been inexperience with FEA, but as I used the product more and more I was able to increase my success rate and avoid common recurring errors.

Reason for choosing SimScale

The cost and ease of use, also the readily available support features.

### "Amendment in model tree"

November 4, 2016

4.0

Simscale is good simulation software and also your efforts toward beta version of post processing is really great but whenever I hover mouse arrow over some of the items of value editing interface such as Details of load Boundary conditions I do not feel that there is something related to properties after type option because some time it does not show expanded mode of details so as a result one can get confused where to fill up force properties. For this I advice you, Tell your front end web interface developer of software that Detail portion should be highlighted by some outlining so that One can easily find that something in this particular portion without reading details or you can write something easy their like ADD THE VECTORS etc. Instead of Only writing just DETAILS. and Same thing happens with hovering arrow over simulations tree,Indication of selecting particular term in this just highlighted by switching arrow in hand but efficient way to turn it highlighted or emphasized by changing color of terms ,Last one and very important ,You should add search engine to scene tree so that one can easily select search particular surface or entity so that Time of searching manually reduced Because It is very difficult search a entity from hundreds If you want to take look you can look over MSC FOOSA model tree search type .You Will get lot of help from that. Thank you

### "While using Simscale"

August 10, 2023

5.0

It is good to be able to perform simulations necessary for design by conducting heat transfer and heat resistance analysis through Simscale.

Pros

Because Simscale does its work on the server, it's nice to be able to run it in parallel with other work.

Cons

I want to ask a question through the messenger, but it is difficult to ask a question because my English is not very good.

Reason for choosing SimScale

The price and the fact that the server does the work.

We gained the insight by simulations we ran, which helped us to optimize out product in short time.

Pros

Easy to setup and running without IT and equipment overhead. The best part was the real time support integrated through the software. It helped us to move quickly with the help of knowledgeable support engineers.

Cons

More control over various mesh would have been much nicer.

### "Flexible Cloud Based Simulation"

November 26, 2020

4.0

Used it to design several generations of electronics enclosures

Pros

You can load your models into the browser-based interface and start the meshing or run the simulation without losing the ability to use your computer to do anything else. The interface is easy to use and learn

Cons

For best results, I had to defeature my models and convert them from Solidworks into STEP files so you do lose some time in the conversion and updating the models. There isn't a shared license so you have to have a single login vs a networked sharable license that you can move from computer to computer

### "SimScale - a great solution for SMEs"

November 27, 2020

4.0

Pros

What I liked the most about the platform is the dedicated customer support. From the onboarding project that helped me get started, to the regular web-meetings with an experienced Customer Success Engineer, the customer support of SimScale excels at many levels. Another thing that I liked is the ease of use of the platform. The interface is pretty straightforward and the team behind SimScale is constantly working on improving it. The automated mesher functions great and succeeds at meshing complex geometries.

Cons

The lack of shell elements and the lack of possibility to model composite materials. SimScale also has limited functionality when it comes to fatigue. As more features are implemented, I hope to see these soon :)

I like the software and the the interface. It is perfect for small companies needs, where simualtion is performed only some times a month.

Pros

The possibility of using the tool completely via web, not using local machine or server

Cons

I would need different colors in parts ( possibility of change part colors) to set easily the contacts

### "Short introduction to test some simple metal constructions"

October 9, 2015

4.0

I encountered some problems regarding model creation during process. Problem is that I tried to repeat tutorial described process, so failed on a half way and was not able to repeat this on my own models. So excellent idea, fantastic solution but complex enough not to hit it on first time and some minor questions regarding repeating the lessons. Sorry I have not found time to get in deeper, but please continue to develop this solution. :)

Dear Ermo, thank you for taking the time to review our product! In the meantime, we added more than 10 workshop series and 15 webinar recordings that might be better for you to get used to simulating with SimScale. The industries and applications for which they were organized are very diverse, from Automotive and Aerospace to Thermal and Cooling cases. ### "Any 3D file that you may have"

July 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

I love the ability to import my existing 3D files into SimScale and work on those easily. This makes it a true cross compatible application. It is web based and does not require any specific PC configuration.

Cons

There's nothing such which I do not like about it.

### "An excellent tool for mechanical analysis"

September 15, 2017

5.0

Shorter development cycles, more capability in analysis mechanical components during the design stage.

Pros

It has a great user interface. Projects can be shared, version managed, and worked on collaboratively. It offers easy access to state of the art open source FEA analysis algorithms without all the hassle.

Cons

The 3D view could be smoother. It looks as if they are rendering it on a server, instead of having a true webGL interface. But that is only a minor issue.

### "Too much for me (and for free)"

October 7, 2016

4.0

First, I'm an industrial designer, with no experience in simulation and a brief training in structural analysis. I tried this software this summer while designing a product for the startup I work for, attracted by 2 words: "online" and "free". They have very slim budget and moreover I'm no expert in simulation, so spending money for a tool I couldn't use would make no sense. Me and my colleague, which is more familiar with simulations, were surprised by how easy was to use the program and how much did it offer for free: for example, the hours of cloud computing are a good feature for people working without a great hardware, or without enough time! Unfortunately, none of us was familiar enough with simulations to extract value from this tool, even if customer assistance has been outstanding.
