### "Over all amazing, but needs some polishing"

October 6, 2016

4.0

Was experiencing some issues. For example it sometimes didn't connect with server. Some moments it was quite slow and lagging. But overall it's great idea to build simulation on this platform, as the support is amazing and responds very quickly in any time. As it's new, I would recomend to improve connection.

Pros

I don't need powerful PC. I can use it on the go without installing any apps

Cons

A bit slow some times. And also disconnects from server .

### "Review - SimScale"

I think the program seems very promising, robust and gives reliable results.

Pros

The program is logically structured in terms of preprocessor, solver and postprocessor. It is relatively simple to generate a mesh.

Cons

I have not tried to simulate a fan (either chamber fan or fan + fan housing). I have not just been able to find a description of the procedure, but maybe there is white paper or similar on this.

### "SimScale review"

October 7, 2016

3.0

Core functionality of meshing and simulation is good. Simulation runtimes are reasonable. Biggest problem is sometimes simulation runs fail and the reason for the failure is not clearly presented. Latency in the web UI also leads to frustrations. The only time there should be a delay when a button is clicked in the web UI is when large data transfers happen.

Pros

Online access and non-local computation.

Cons

Hard to figure out why failures occur.

### "I found it for hobby but useful for work"

November 26, 2020

5.0

Really great and satisfaying.

Pros

Obviously the wide different work that you can do with it fluid analysis, thermal, estructural, etc... it's very impressive, helped with your videos and tutorials it's really easy to start working with it. And powerful calculations in a supercomputer, you just need internet conection, i'm working with a 2 year old laptop and a countryside low speed internet conection.

Cons

Not too much to say here, i'm trying to run aeronautic cfd and i'm not aeronautic engineer, despite this i'm making it run. I still don't get with the scroll and turning the drawing.

### "SimScale is the most efficient CFD-Software I know so far"

February 1, 2021

5.0

Basically, I am very satisfied with the software and look forward to the further projects. So far, I have been able to increase efficiency from project to project.

Pros

These three points I like most about SimScale: - no local, powerful hardware is needed - clear guide for the input of the parameters - fantastic support: fast, competent and helpful

Cons

I model the building structure in Revit architecture software. Sometimes there are errors in the model import, which are not clearly visible and therefore difficult to improve. This costs unnecessary time and nerves.

### "Nice aproach and easy to use."

November 7, 2016

the software is pretty useful, the tutorials are enogh if you had use any simulation software before, in the other hand, if i compare it with ansys im not sure about the the accuracy of the methods or the calculations. but as a fact if i have a hurry, i will use simscale it is faster.

Pros

the way it manage the data. you can work any time and almost everywere

Cons

the confidence on the results is compromised, many clients requires some specific software in order to maintain this confidence.

### "Download pre procesador files"

October 6, 2016

4.0

I'm really happy for this application on cloud, is easy to use and also has big power, but has is possible to download files post-proces and every all can use Paraview stand alone in the personal computer, i good like to download files like pre-procesator for Open Faom / Calculix /Su2 and also to mesh files.

Pros

Running on cloud.

Cons

Its imposible dowloand files pro-prosesator

Review Source

Response from SimScale

October 7, 2016

Hi Yerko, it is possible to download files at every stage of the simulation: (a) The mesh can be downloaded separately after successful creation. (b) The simulation results can be downloaded for offline post-processing purposes. (c) Post-processing can be done on SimScale platform and the screen-shot/plots can be downloaded as well. You can use ParaView/ParaFoam to view the mesh and to do post-processing. In case you are still having problems with downloads, feel free to reach out to our support for help.

### "An amazing portal for a beginner in CAE "

May 5, 2019

5.0

Not only was I able to do plenty of studies within the available core hours, I also learned hot the tools actually work, and I also took a leap from my field of expertise (automotive ) to others ( aerospace, architecture) due to the many tutorials in the website.

Pros

The fact that is is extremely user-friendly, and the vast amount of tutorials and documentation to get you started with meshing, simulation , and the essential scientific fundamentals.

Cons

The 16 available processors for a community user are not sufficient for projects that need really fine mesh.

### "Great software with great customer support"

August 23, 2018

5.0

Great experience would definitely recommend for anyone that wants/has to design and simulate a product or objec. As a engineering student I feel this is a great software to learn and increase knowledge in design and materials.

Pros

SimScale is a great package, I personally used it as an educational resourse for the biomedical industry and I absolutely loved it. It has a whole set of functions and tools that allows you to design, pre-process, and post-process. It also contains the geometry, mesh and simulation tabs that make this software incredible realiable. The webinars SimScale offers are really helpful and allows you to learn more about te software and opens the options of use in many industries. The staff are always very helpful and willing to explain and help in any topic.

Cons

Even though it is a great software and has all the main tools and functions, it still lacks a few features that are highly used in some industries.

### "Excellent Product with outstanding support and learning resources!"

October 12, 2016

5.0

My experience with simscale has been great, the effort that has gone it ensuring a good user experience and workflow is clear and they done a great job. Ease of use far exceeds what i have found with other commerical products that are priced much higher. I especially commened the efforts that have been made in regards to learning resources which has made the transition from other software much easier. There are some area for inprovements such as the import of geometery which can sometime cause issues and the ability to pause simulations would also be extremly useful. Overall i have been very satisfied with the simscale product.

### "Simscale: The Thingiverse of CFD"

October 6, 2016

5.0

Simscale enables users to design and run various forms of physical modelling from the user's web-browser. From Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the capabilities are very broad. Providing a user-friendly interface and cutting the barriers to learning, e.g. access to software and computational power, Simscale represents a very promising way of learning various elements of computational modelling.

### "Excellent platform for a complex topic"

November 26, 2020

5.0

I have used this, on and off, for a few indicative simulations to evaluate suitability in our company. I think that the learning curve is steep, but the support is good if you need it. Outputs from simulations have been encouraging for me, and the ability to download the FOAM file for my own post-processing is a great touch.

Pros

Cloud-based computing allowed me to set simulations running without worrying about my own hardware. Free community trial is an excellent way to get to grips with the platform Very regular updates

Cons

Import of complex CAD often met with errors, SimScale did not point me in the direction of those errors in modelling!

Reason for choosing SimScale

The free trial of 3000 core-hours allowed me to experiment with the platform without committing company resources to something which we may not ultimately be able to use.

### "Great for Onshape Users"

July 26, 2019

5.0

I was evaluating SimScale for a team I support, we found it to be a useful analysis tool. Having all the necessary simulation methods in the same package, with good integration to Onshape, meant we could collaborate quickly, and be sure everyone was looking at the same thing, despite being on three continents.

Pros

The Onshape "Connector" makes it easy to pull my work into SimScale, allowing for seamless analysis of collaborative projects.

Cons

Like any powerful simulation system, it has a fairly steep learning curve.

### "Easy, elaborate, deep insightful"

July 18, 2019

5.0

Great.

Pros

Simscale allows you to simulate many real world applications. It can be from a (simple) conceptual idea, to a detailed version of your final geometry. CAE has never been so easy.

Cons

Least is that sometimes it is difficult to postprocess. Current postprocessor really needs updating and is not sufficient for me. Going to paraview is my standard routine now.

### "Great FE tool"

July 31, 2019

5.0

I tried this product to see if I could model structures for vibration transmission. The support staff were very helpful in trying to assist me with my particular problem but the functionality wasn't quite at my scale.

Pros

The UI was very intuitive and clean looking. It allowed for an easy learning experience while trying out the software.

Cons

It didn't quite meet my expectations for modelling vibration transmission in a large structure.

### "SimScale Makes High End Simulation Accessible to Everyone"

May 18, 2016

4.0

I run a small engineering business. In the past, high end simulation software was out of reach, but now SimScale makes it accessible to everyone. SimScale provides professional grade simulation tools with many of the features found in high end alternatives, but at a fraction of the price. SimScale runs on high performance computers in the cloud, the user only needs a web browser for configuration. SimScale is backed by a talented and enthusiastic support team. It also has a helpful on-line community. SimScale is free for public projects.

### "It's great it's free and powerful enough to face complicated projects"

October 13, 2015

5.0

On one hand, it's friendly and with the help of videotutorials you can find in youtube, it's easy to manage. In addition, it's free in basic version. On the other hand, it's need to be connected to internet during the period of parametrization, in ocassions is necessary to wait for a certain of minutes to finish all the process. I think it could be a good idea to offer an offline software of SimScale. What do you think about it? Anyhow, it's a great idea indeed: thank you for developing this software. Go for it!
