My overall experience is pretty decent, considering it does have general scheduling ability and patient tracking. It does lack some key features, especially when it comes to tracking the financial side of the system. Pros I enjoyed using IDEXX Neo because designed to be user-friendly. It is quite an affordable program, and it has the ability to schedule appointments easily. It is very simple to use and is not very confusing to teach other employees. Cons The things I liked the least about IDEXX Neo is that there are issues with the financial aspect of using the program. There are also issues with sharing records to other vets or owners. There are some key features that are lacking in the system, and it does seem to need some updates to make the system better. Pros It sounded really good but once we got into the training it went downhill from there. Cons We were being charged for Neo even before it was up and running. \[sensitive content hidden\] said that we would get a refund of the product but in the end they ended up charging us for 3 months. We signed up in March 2023 and ended the agreement in June of 2023 before using any of it. They told us the monthly fee would go up in July of 2023 and then each year annually Recently we found out the Card connect that is intgrated with Neo and recommended by Idexx had been charging us between 40-69 dollars every month since March of 2023. despite the fact that we were told everything had been cancelled. They charged us upwards of 1400 dollars and refunded only 207 to this day and refuse to credit us any more. . I;ve spent hours on the phone with the credit card processing company and despite Idexx telling us we have to contact the card card merchant to get a refund they sent us back to Idexx. WE NEVER GOT ANY INVOICES WITH THE CHARGES BECAUSE THEY WERE IN THE PORTAL WHICH WE NEVER SIGNED UP FOR BECAUSE WE WERE NOT USING THE PRODUCT. After experiencing other veterinary softwares, they often feel outdated and disorganized compared to IDEXX Neo. This software does it all- scheduling, record keeping, invoices, and prescriptions- making it really user friendly for a busy veterinary clinic. Cons I have no complaints about IDEXX Neo! Excited when we were able to switch to a new program. Pros The ease of Neo, the look, the quickness of logging on. There was very little that we liked about the program, the integration with IDEXX bloodwork Cons The reports are very vague. Hard to do large animal clients, inventory is a NIGHTMARE! If you do any inventory on a regular basis - stay away from this as it will lead you to gray hair. Statements at end of month do not include any services/products - only invoice #, so you have to print lots of pages off. The seamless flow both ways between Neo and the in house lab equipment was even better than anticipated. Very user friendly. Cons It would be nice if some documents were editable after a student completes them since they are learning still how to properly complete medical records. For instance, if they forget to complete an item on the anesthesia monitoring form it must be completely restarted. At the same time, not having an editable document is what is best in the real world. Cons I bought a practice with only paper records so initially implementing all our charges including inventory was tedious. But now its done and functions seamlessly.
