SECURE & RELIABLE:
- All data transferred using SSL with AES-256 bit encryption

- Admin-specified password strength and reset frequency requirements

ROBUST FOR ADMINS:
- Upgrade other users to administrators to help manage users
- Set whether new users automatically join the team or require an invitation
- Control which domains your team can collaborate with outside your company.

Cons: I found customers (who already use LucidChart) sometimes shared their diagrams with just the employee needing it "right then". However if someone else needed to work on it they didn't have access, and usually didn't have the rights to be able to share it with other people in our company. I wish when customers shared it with someone in our team that it was automatically shared with everyone in the team. This was such a big issue for us we ended up canceling out company subscription and converting it to a single user subscription forcing everyone to log in using the same account. Issue resolved with customers sharing with us.

Overall: I'm an Engineering Graduate Student. This is my Review after using Lucidchart for a Month. I'll be giving review about the product after use in a class project. Some problems are complex enough that you may not know how to ask the right question. That's where Web Apps come in. With a few clicks, these form based course assistants solve many types of problems which are commonly encountered in your classes, no questions asked. Create engaging lectures and materials by uploading your own real world data, or draw on thousands of data sets already available in Lucidchart. Tailor the look of your results with customiszble visualizations.
The color, style, and elements of generated charts and plots can be customized and downloaded. And export results in 60+ file types. You can download results in various formats like XLS, PDF etc. There's so much you can do. They are always adding more content and more features to help you create the best classroom experience possible. So, that's good that it gets regular updates.

Recommendations to other buyers: Terrible when you want to share your work with outside users I pay a good subscription and the tools that I get for wireframes are very basic It always draws arrows automatically even though I'm building wireframes.

Comments: As a teacher, I've been using LucidChart for more than three years in my Advanced Placement (AP) computer science classes. Students really enjoy being able to document problem solving algorithms using the flow chart tools as well as mind mapping with concept diagrams. I have come to rely on UML class diagrams for my instructional units on object and class design; additionally, I use it for making graphic organizers, process diagrams, and general handouts. Ease of use, judicious mix of features, collaborative editing tools and publishing options put it right at the top of my list of preferred tools. I recommend it to colleagues all.the.time.

Pros: The available graphic elements for UML, mind mapping, flowchart, and general visual organization are simply perfect for an educational environment.

Cons: The process for browsing and managing uploaded user images seems a little off. For example, I frequently will use screen captures as graphical elements of a document. While LucidChart fully supports doing so, it might be helpful to have a more powerful interface when reviewing/browsing/selecting files that are serving duty as custom images.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it. Collaborate with it. Get a friend or friends involved. You'll want to use it solo for individual work but it really shines in a scenario where more than one user is working on the document.

Pros: Lucidchart makes diagramming and planning a solution easy and clear. We recently have had to diagram and plan a very large project that requires a lot of coordination and Lucidchart made it very easy for us to scope out the problem and communicate our needs to our company at large.

The tools are succinct and easy to use. One of my favorite features is the find a feature tool. You type in the type of feature you are looking for and it pulls up a list of possible options. When you find what you want in the list and hover over it there is a mini tutorial that shows you exactly where that feature is at for the next time you would like to use it.

The pricing is flexible and can easily scale for an organization while still keeping your documents compartmentalized and shared only within the circles you want them shared with.

Their closest competitor is probably Microsoft Visio, but again they don't come close at all. I've used both and Visio was an extremely frustrating experience.

Cons: Sometimes when you are trying to manipulate your diagrams you can accidentally move lines that shouldn't be moved and have a hard time getting them back in place. Thankfully their is an instant undo for this.

Also grouping objects can get a little confusing on how you should be interacting with them afterward.

Overall: Great experience so far, has become ingrained into our teams workflow and supports many of our products with strong documentation.

Pros: I am a lover of charts and flows ,as they assist me in better critiquing my business ideas and thought.I started out with using just a paper and a pencil and would end up littering my desk with ruffled paper after every diagramming session.
I later embraced alternate diagramming programs and the sole reason I migrated towards Lucidchart is its collaborative edge. Being that it is cloud based, I get to go into the world of flows and charts at anytime without any prerequisite requirement like having a particular device on hand. I get to also work on charts and flows collaboratively with my colleagues ,even if they aren't physically by my side. Lucidchart overall helps me refine my business thought process.

Cons: There is a need for more templates available to users on Lucidchart. I also tend to think Lucidchart comes with a bit of tough learning time for new users.

Pros: Web based so can be accessed anywhere without the need of a file repository. Allows you to download directly in pdf format. Easy admin console, and cheaper than almost all of the competitors in the same space.

Cons: Their sales team will email you and call you just about every month to get you to upgrade. As well, the way purchasing licenses works isn't seamless or industry standard. For example when we upgraded past 10 licenses the next option at the time was purchasing 20 seats. Which left 9 unused but paid for; on one of the afformentioned sales calls I brought this up and they lowered the seats to 15 (at the time the amt of users we had). Next time I needed to add a user it jumped back up. For a cloud based service they should be able to automatically scale licenses based on users and not a "range" of users leaving us paying for more than we need.

Overall: A cloud based alternative to Visio.

Pros: Has Everything: L:C has literally every type of chart, bubble, line, and template that I can think of. I've yet to run into a situation where LC did not have something that would work.

Sharing Capabilities: Like Google Drive, users of LC can collaborate on charts. I know that our engineering team uses this a lot, I have yet to find a need to collaborate on charts that I've created, but I love how easy it is should the need arise. It even integrates with Google Drive to boot!

Does One Thing: Sometimes this is a con; when a software is just a One-Trick Pony. I think that its a trap that a lot of software companies fall into, especially young ones. They try to do too much too quickly and come to market with incomplete, inconsistent, or generic products in saturated markets. LC does charts and chart sharing so well that it can afford to do nothing else and I appreciate them for that.

Cons: Direction: If you are a chart rookie or simply are not sure where to begin with chart creation, LC has templates that can help, but the user has to approach LC with the creative vision and direction in play already. There is no sandbox mode for this part of the chart-making process; I still use a legal pad to start with. LC's templates are neatly categorized based on business needs or otherwise, but they are still just templates. In some respects, this is not so much a con as it is a natural limitation on the creativity chart-makers must overcome in the first place

Pros: I started my diagramming experience back on 2011 with Edraw max. However I tried out Lucidchart in 2016 and I have never had the cause to look back ever since. I am an avid user of Lucidchart simply because it is cloud based , it is affordable, supports importing diagrams to and from Microsoft Visio and allows me to collaborate with my colleagues in real time ,while working on my diagrams.
Being cloud based , ensures I am able to pick up my device and begin working on diagrams at a moment notice, I get access to this fantastic diagramming program.

Cons: I have no iota of reservation about Lucidchart. Its user interface was very easy to get used to ,and this is majorly because it has got similarities with Edraw max, which was the software I was coming from.

Pros: Lucidchart is cloud based and unlike my previous diagramming tool (Edraw max) ,I am able to access my Lucidchart from anywhere and across all devices, including my smartphone. It integrates perfectly with my Google drive ,making it a breeze to backup my diagrams.
I am provided with a variety of templates to aid me in my diagrams ; be it process maps , mind maps ,org charts etc these templates have sometimes halved the time I spend working on diagrams ,as I on most occasions simply edit the templates as against creating my process maps from scratch.

Cons: In contrast to Edraw max ,Lucidchart is not as intuitive or self expressive as EDrawmax ; neither is the work environment customizable. Also Lucidchart files can get easily heavy ,especially when incorporating images into my process maps.

Pros: The fact that the application is online means I can access it and all my created diagrams anywhere. I use it mainly to create diagrams that depict IT scenarios, with flow-charts, sequence or network diagrams being quick and easy to create. The interface is clean and everything is easy to find, with search boxes to speed up the search for the specific type of icon.

Generally the interface reacts quickly and items nicely 'snap' to align with other items, making it easy to rearrange a diagram and still maintain a good overview, without having to redo half the design. Setting up a team within Lucidchart to share documents is easy and works well.

Cons: The price is a little on the high side, especially if you want to add more members to your Lucidcart team.

Also, ocassionally the interface handles dragging lines between different icons badly, with lines not appearing at the correct spot and taking very tortuous routes through the diagram.

Overall: It allows us to set up a shared repository of all diagrams and flow charts to use internally when developing our product. Anyone can view, edit or create new diagrams with a very easy-to-use interface. This helped us save time when designing the implementation of a new feature or functionality.

Pros: I started using this software in college for different classes like Information Technology and Operations Management. This software has also been great with helping me complete assignments. LucidChart is extremely user-friendly and I was able to learn how to use the software rather quickly. It's incredibly easy to drop in different shapes or images that you want and draw the connects from different processes/images to one another.

Cons: Only Con I can really think of is sometimes it can be frustrating to format shapes and resize them at times. While the software is fairly user friendly I have definitely gotten frustrated at times trying to resize images and have had issues when I was trying to connect certain processes to another and the program picks the wrong shape to connect to. I also wish it was a bit easier to print out these charts, but I don't think it's very fair to blame the software on that since everyone's charts are going to vary by width/size so it's up to the user to format it for printing.

Pros: Lucidchart is web based ,with a close to zero learning curve for new users ; especially users who have used alternate design softwares like Smartdraw and Edraw max before.I am able to share diagrams with my team members wherever they are.
Lucidchart is the one design tool I can count on whenever I need to quickly work on diagrams , user interface designs and sketches at a moment notice. The fact I am not restricted to a single device to be able to use Lucidchart is a blessing for me.

Cons: I am unable to share my raw diagram files with team members who do not use Lucidchart. I always have to export my diagrams to pdf .before sharing.

Pros: Number of types of tools to create charts, as well as the number of styles within a set of tools.

It has felt like there are infinite possibilities of charts to create.

Cons: Not sure if there is a way to "lock" some combined pieces of of a chart, so that you can move the entire "collection" together, and not have to move all separate pieces individually? I know you can lock the whole chart.

Sometimes I would create a chart, but then further info would be provided, so the chart needed to be modified, but as more space was needed in a specific area, I would have to move all of the individual pieces of a section, rather than the whole section, to accommodate new pieces. It often became very time-consuming to "relocate" a section of the chart because of how complicated it was.

Overall: As someone who is used to Visio, there was a learning curve when I started using Lucidchart, as the functions were not intuitive to me. However, it was a very short time from when I figured out the basic functions, to when I was creating complicated process design flows and detailed user interface mock-ups, and impressing my clients and co-workers.

We have been using Lucidchart on a pilot basis for a specific project, but based on the features and functionality available (after some training for those stuck in the Visio world), we are recommending Lucidchart become the go-to tool for creating and maintaining user interface mock-ups for our systems development and maintenance projects.

Pros: Online repository for diagrams
Collaboration
Link to online for upto date version

Cons: Performance
Lack of document features

Overall: My role has required me to increasingly create diagrams so it's great having an online repository for them. Having them available on wiki pages and update as they are chabged is a huge benefit. I haven't struggled on lack of features but it would be good to have more mangement of the diagram files themselves, and a feature for online archive. Overall a great experience so far however my only bugbear is performance, large diagrms can take an age to load, even browsing documents. Having said that the performance does seem to have improve lately.

Recommendations to other buyers: Would be good to have a desktop app with good offline mode. I know there is a browser app but a more feature rich desktop app would be nice.

Pros: Use of use, simplicity of design, complexity of task.

Cons: I wish I could save custom themes, and possibly share them with other users.

Overall: The Good: First of all for any basic project, there is likely to be a similar one in their database from which you can build yours. When using swim lanes, resizing also moves to contents which saves a lot of time (as opposed to doing this in Word or Excel). You can build custom shape libraries to include color settings and such on the shapes. Overall this program has (figuratively) pulled my bacon from the fire more than once.

The Bad: The login screen does not allow for quick form fill (browser remembering the username and password to instantly input it upon page load). It does not remember certain view settings between uses, such as opting to use the beta build for the next version, I never want to go back to the previous.

The Ugly: The default themes are a decent baseline from which to build, but are each rather lacking, and you cannot save your own for quick application over all objects in a spreadsheet (thus you need to do it manually, which can take quite awhile).

Recommendations to other buyers: Leave yourself with a lot of extra room, because you will think of extra logic loops, or simply overlook something and have to add it later.

Pros: An easy to use and share vector graphic problem that is ideal for process management, process engineering, network diagrams, flow charts, etc. It is an outstanding tool to create drawings used in office documents and presentations. Includes libraries are perfect for flow charts, but not what is needed for process automation (BMS/SCADA etc.). Network and IT stuff is acceptable but some of the built in objects are unprofessional looking. Easy, though, to create your own objects. Definitely faster and more powerful than Gliffy (Atlassian) or any of the MS Office drawing tools except for Visio. But what's great about Lucidchart is the simple integration with web sharing (wikis, confluence, etc.). Works cross platform on Mac, Linux, and Windows desktops.

Cons: Exporting high quality images for production printing (to Adobe InDesign for example) is an overly awkward and laborious process. Would be nice to a simple Save As EPS and SVG.

Pros: The use of lucid has provided very nice, responsive flow charts, which give so much information. It is pretty simple to learn. Just start using it and in no time you will be able to do wonderful stuff. It has a nice integration with other apps and has good quantity of libraries. It makes us learn about our requirements and what the client needs. We can easily see who is working on what work, it has made collaboration so easy.

Cons: It is little overpriced, due to which many opt out of it. It is very smooth and have nice templates, but I think the number of templates could have been more. The speed of rendering can be improved a little too.

Overall: It gives very nice flowcharts, which are very easy to understand and also it makes the clients understand better about insights. Who is working on what is easily seen through it. The most important benefit is , it is very easy to learn.

Pros: Ease of use and flexibility.

Cons: Sometimes the number of features is a little overwhelming and it's not as easy to understand the new ones (and change my easy shortcut habits).

Overall: I've been using Lucidchart for over a year now and love it. I've used other tools in the past but they just don't come up to scratch in terms of feature set and flexibility. I am a Business Analyst and UX designer so Lucidchart features in my work day.... every day. I use it to quickly sketch out user journeys as well as rough outlines for screens.

My clients love that I use it as we can collaboratively work side by side on a design and then there are numerous ways that I can export the work for use elsewhere.

I just can't imagine not using Lucidchart anymore so I am grateful that it is there and constantly evolving to meet my needs. Great product!

It allows to import diagrams made in microsoft visio, omnigraffle, gliffy and draw.io you can also import figures from visio or in svg format to the library.
You can download the diagrams in multiple formats like jpg, png, pdf, svg, csv and visio.
You can work collaboratively, inviting teammates to edit, comment or see the work.
It can be used for free.
has an excellent integration with google docs and office 365, also with confluence, jira, slack, quip and zoho connect among others.

Cons: allows only 60 objects per document in the free accounts.
the revision history is only available as a premium function, which forces me to use the google revision history docs when I want to work collaboratively.

Overall: the creation of flow diagrams and uml mainly that can be shared to work as a team, I can also use them from google docs without problems and store in my google drive account, I can also use the images saved onedrive in my diagrams.

Pros: Pretty easy to use.

Cons: hard to move objects around if there are lot of them on the page

Overall: I have looked at and tried a number of different wireframing tools. Design and layout of web pages and software applications is a great deal of our business. After trying a bunch of different tools, we decided on Lucidchart. It has all of the basics and a lot of images to choose from. It allows us to easily share our designs with our customers without having to purchase additional licenses. Only negative would be that it's hard to move elements around if there a lot on the page.

Comments: Overall, it is a very powerful tool that allows us to collaborate online. I think it is a value for the money and the online help is useful and answers most of my questions.

Pros: Flexibility, links with Google Drive, sharing over the Internet, download. Overall it is very solid.

Cons: Importing outside images is cumbersome. I just want to drag and drop a file onto the work area then start using it. This is a frequent use case as our main use for the product is UI design. I want to start with the existing UI as a screen shot and show the developers how to change. Second is having to re-import UI elements every time I open a new study. Once I put something in the tool list on the left, I'd like it to stay there. Finally, selecting an object can be frustrating because of the mode switching that occurs. I grab to drag and I get a pointer to another object. There must be some way to make this more intuitive.

Recommendations to other buyers: Depending on your needs, Lucidchart is a solid choice. We switched from Gliffy and are glad we did.

Comments: We were long time Visio users, and it was coming time to upgrade Visio again - which was not a small cost. So we looked around and came across LucidChart. It imported our Visio diagrams without any issue. After a short time we found LucidChart so much easier to use, and it was great being able to share out master copies of our diagrams with our clients (who the diagrams are for). I also like that it is completely web based, and we don't have to install anything on our machines any more. Their online support is excellent, and they have lots of short You Tube videos which show you how to do lots and lots of things.

Pros: * Ease of use * You tube videos giving demos on how to do things * Ability to share disgrams * Running in a web browser so you don't have to install software

Cons: * I found customers (who already use LucidChart) sometimes shared their diagrams with just the employee needing it "right then". However if someone else needed to work on it they didn't have access, and usually didn't have the rights to be able to share it with other people in our company. I wish when customers shared it with someone in our team that it was automatically shared with everyone in the team. This was such a big issue for us we ended up cancelling out company subscription, and converting it to a single user subscription forcing everyone to log in using the same account. Issue resolved with customers sharing with us.

Pros: I love the browser based solution as well as the integration with Google cloud. I also love the choice of multiple templates and the ability to create your own image templates.

Cons: The licensing model is a bit atiquated and stodgy. The customer service is also diffracted between product offerings. Not have customer support services know about multiple customer channels is just not adequate in this era.

Overall: Easy modeling of software systems as well as easy sharing with multiple collaborators. I thoroughly enjoy being able to store my design docs on my Google drive and have updates registered there.

Great system for Diagramming. It is my favorite part of the Job. This tool rocks!

Pros: I can use the tool on my MAC pro or the Windows Laptop no special software to get the IT team to load. It works and does not complain about what version when others need to send you a diagram.

Cons: Some exports are a little disconnected and have to be repaired but no real issue

Overall: Easy to use. I have been using diagramming tools since 1997, This tool allows you to collaborate with others on the design by sharing the information with other easily. The stencils are very functional , I would recommend it for any one needing to create a network design or a home plan.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great software concept really like using it

Pros: I've found Lucidchart to be incredibly helpful in designing diagrams related to software design. Trying to create these diagrams myself in various design softwares was always complicated and cumbersome, and this system allows me to intuitively create complex diagrams without pulling my hair out. Favorite features:

- Low price
- Versatility of shapes + functions
- Easy export to PDF
- Built in templates for everything from ERDs to iPhone app design, and everything in between
- Detailed articles explaining nuances of each type of diagram
- Integrations (Google Drive, Slack, + Jira are especially nice)

Cons: Any frustrations I have with Lucidchart are minimal:

- Lack of autosave feature (I don't always remember to manually save)
- Wish that templates came blank instead of pre-populated with data

Overall: Saves me a ton of time in designing ERDs and data flow documentation - come up with these by hand was previously a massive pain - Lucidchart speeds up this process and consequentially helps me communicate better with the rest of my team.

Pros: I love that it is really easy to use, it is very intuitive. I like the colors and different options to make lovely charts.

Cons: I don't like that I can't edit the charts in other softwares (such as word, powerpoint).

Overall: I use Lucidchart to make flowcharts and surveys for a research project. I love this program. Overall, I have had a great experience using it. I have had some compatibility issues because I can't edit the charts on other programs. Another thing is that I would find it helpful if I had templates for specific projects (like Gantt charts or timelines for example). They might exist but I don't know how to find them. I would also like it if it better if it were easier to insert different forms.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would love it if you'd offer more templates for timelines and all sorts of charts for different occasions.

Comments: I absolutely adore Lucidchart! As a Computer Information Systems major, I use Lucidchart for many assignments in my classes including Swimlanes, GANTT charts, PERT charts, Data Flow charts, Work Breakdown Structures, basic flowcharts, diagrams, mockups, and even artistic images such as logos.

Pros: -Easy to learn and use -Compatible with almost any format -Easy to download in any file type -Cloud storage in Lucidchart or on Google Drive -Unlike most flowchart software, LC offers a wide variety of symbols, shapes, and images

Cons: -Sometimes Unable to import previous flowcharts -Can't import images -Often loses connectivity if using web app -While I understand LC is primarily a flowchart software, it is often tiresome to create other types of diagrams such as swim lanes and GANTT charts

Recommendations to other buyers: Lucidchart is the perfect app for those who do independent flowchart work. It syncs perfectly with Google and stores documents entirely in the cloud. Simple, effective, mobile, and practical.

Pros: Lucid chart offers a variety of tools and options to customize from A to Z your page layout. From the color of the Background to the export quality and print. And in between there is just a huge amount of possibilities. Customizing your hotkeys and quick drag and drop tools, presentation options for team meetings and so much more. All of these elements really make the application easy to use and not overbearing with too many things on screen.

Cons: I have to say. I am not a fan of applications that ask you to pay monthly. I wish there was a stand-alone edition where you could do everything locally on your computer. Indeed you loose all the online options but that would be the trade in for having an independent software on your machine.

Overall: The possibility to organize my projects complexity, making them quite easy to understand and develop.

While Visio ist going down from version to version (Software developer's view) Lucidchart offers an easy way to design nearly whatever required. Few things I miss: Other Entity notations than crow feet and better UML integration, e.g. free placeable ports for components.

Recommendations to other buyers: please add additonal Entity notations other than crow feet and make uml ports for components multiple and free placeable.

Cons: Refer the details which i have mentioned in review comment section.

Overall: The lucidchart software application is very good and easy tool to build our required drawings and documents, Am using this software application since last 6 months based on my limited experince I have few following observation points which can improve this software tool to be more robust and ease.

1. We can not import the external library object and symbol like we used to do in visio application.
2. The upload and download of each drawings will take more time mainly when we have more graphic object in each drawings (Even though we use high end configuration computers like Intel i7 processor with 16 GB Ram).

Pros: LucidChart is an amazing online app that I can use at my desk, on my tablet, and on my phone. It's simple touch controls are designed for efficiency. The templates provided are incredibly diverse. The ability to link other diagrams, notes, and comments to elements is a great feature. We have used this tool for effective remote collaboration on complex process flow topics and for generating professional, beautiful diagrams in high dollar proposals.

Cons: Transferring ownership of a document was somewhat of an unclear process, but we ended up just copying it. I wish it would allow for more notifications when documents change.

Pros: Great tools and functionality, love the use of the cloud save. It has many default and templates to choose from so I don't have to start from scratch, but even when I do, it's easy to build something out quickly and then share using the functionality or even save into Google Drive.

Cons: A little bit limited in it's functionality overall, but that's not it's fault - it does what it needs to do. I'm not the admin, but I've been told it's pretty expensive for our company licenses, so we might change.

Overall: Great way to diagram information in an easy to see and share way. We are able to collaborate and map out different software processes very easily between our operations team.

Pros: Lots of shapes to pick from, very intuitive interface, item alignment features.

Cons: It can sometimes be difficult to connect shapes with arrows, when the number of arrows required increases. It is of course just a complex problem regardless at that point (how to represent all the connections in a meaningful way).

Overall: I come to LucidChart any time I need to design any sort of system or process. I use it to figure things out for myself, or to communicate ideas to others. I love all the alignment assistance features (page center, align with other objects, etc).

Recommendations to other buyers: Might be nice to offer theming help for diagrams to colour shapes in similar ways. Some way to help people build more professional-looking diagrams without having to have an art major :)

Pros: For anyone who needs to create flow charts or process flows, but finds that PowerPoint doesn't give you enough choice (but you don't want the complex tools like Visio), LucidChart is the perfect fit. It has a large number of different templates that you can use. And it is easy to use through drag and drop. And most importantly, it's web-based so that you can use it from anywhere and share with anyone with ease.

Cons: While it is beneficial to have the multiple levels/folders for storing documents created in LucidChart, I do find that it can be complex to search and find for things you have created.

Comments: I am using Lucidchart.com for years to add visualization of data flow for my IT projects. The charts has all I need in terms of functionality, they are shareable, and looks great. With the most recent updates and ability to load custom images; which add additional ability to customize my charts. Summary: Lucidchart is the best tool available in a cloud world as of now (April 2016).

Pros: - All necessary functionality available in cloudware - Easy to use (no training needed) - Lots of objects, you can load custom images even with free account - Free account is available - Ability to share charts with non-users - Great design of the app and user friendly interface

Cons: - shared access to a chart is not available (at least I didn't find it) - impossible to download a chart as a file with objects to reuse later offline - API to link charts and objects (or feed data into charts) will be a great improvement

Pros: Good looking shape sets
Ease of moving around shapes

Cons: Connections don't always snap in the right place. Particularly when I'm creating sequence diagrams, its easier to recreate methods (connections) that move them.

Overall: Lucidchart helps me create great looking diagrams quickly. It is easy to move elements around and my arrows stay connected, easy to select multiple elements and deselect individual ones.
There are heaps of shapes for different industries and contexts.
Sometimes I need to reattach connections because after a move they don't snap into the right place, but not often.
I am a long time Visio user, but haven't found the need to use it since starting with Lucidchart 1 year ago.

Recommendations to other buyers: Its a great product, I'm surprised I can mostly do without Visio. But keep up working on the quality of drawings, and speed of creating diagrams. If those degrade or don't improve, that would be the reason for me to use something else.

Comments: I do valuestream, process, req/resp flow, and system mapping with Lucidchart. It works great for all that. What really blew me away was the presentation mode hotspots, AWS metadata import and I hear there's one coming for Salesforce.com. The product and the roadmap are going to keep me with them for a while, i'd imagine

Pros: Custom mapping objects. AWS import. custom templates. Static PDF and HTML shares for non-users. Mind Mapping. Tight integration to Google Docs: Embeddable Diagrams FTW!

Cons: The app is an HTML/JS SPA (just like gmail and the like) so there can be some variable behavior inconsistencies as the JS libraries improve and between browsers. The new version of the app has eliminated most of that now, it seems.

Recommendations to other buyers: when you compare to the standalone app mapping tools or even gliffy, LC stands head and shoulders above, there really isn't a comparison anymore.

Pros: We like how it is so much cheaper than Visio but does everything we needed to do in Visio. It's also very convenient that it is web-based, as you can use your account from any computer and it makes user turn over easier.

Cons: Some features (like changing line style) were not very intuitive, but after clicking around for a few minutes, I found what I needed to. Very short, targeted training videos might help, as opposed to longer, more generic ones.

Overall: Everything we needed from Visio in a fraction of the price. Also, having a web-based platform makes it easier to access and turn over accounts when users leave the company.

Pros: - Has a free version
- Broad range of available shapes
- Ease of use (usually better than Microsoft Visio)

Cons: When drawing digital circuits, I often have many box shapes which represent digital processing modules. I use text boxes inside these boxes to label the ports of these modules. It is often tricky to get the wires (connecting lines) to attach to all the text boxes (pin/port locations) at the same point. (It is not impossible, but it can be tricky.)

Overall: I have used LucidCharts in both engineering classes and research. I have primarily used it to draw abstractions of digital circuits (a mix of boxes with ports, clouds, and digital logic gates). It would be nice if LucidCharts included a box shape with pins/ports with corresponding pin/port labels. This would make alignment and labeling much easier.

Recommendations to other buyers: See above.

Pros: Lucidchart does one thing very well - create any type of chart, line, or bubble that you can think of. When creating a chart in a program not specific to charting like Word/PowerPoint, margins and layouts can become confusing and frustrating. Lucidchart "snaps" into place in an aesthetically pleasing way.

Being cloud-based is incredibly helpful. As someone whose job extends past a 9-5 reality, the option to revisit a thought from anywhere is a true selling point. As a visual learner, the opportunity to create hierarchies and explain project management through charts rather than words is ideal.

Cons: Lucidchart, like any software, is relatively pricey for its highly-specific functionality. A small annoyance - raw files cannot simply be shared, they must be exported as .PDFs and shared that way. An autosave feature would be the cherry-on-top.

Pros: Lucidchart is hands-down the easiest to use flowcharting software I have experienced online. The software also has a gigantic library of UX images making this tool great for UX designers as well. The software is incredibly easy to use, offers a free version for making flowcharts using up to a limited number of elements. Education users can also get a great deal on Lucidchart for your school! Integration with Google products also adds to Lucidcharts value.

Cons: The software does come with a multitude of options and opportunities. Many of the shapes will not be useful to the common user but having options is not always a bad thing!

Pros: Really great for when you are coming up with a new process and need to visualize before sharing with the team. The fact that each icon represents an action universally makes the training process more more seamless

Cons: not easy to pick up on right away - if you don't have any experience with the product it may take some time before fully getting the hang of it

Pros: Lucidchart is a brilliant, free piece of software which allows users to create professional grade process maps. The free version of Lucidchart will allow up to 3 documents at any given time, however this didn't affect my experience. Lucidcharts is easy to use with plenty of templates that can be altered. The processes are easy to follow with the software labelling all of the objects that can be used for the creation process. All charts are saved to the cloud, therefore alterations can be made regardless of which device you're working on. Existing documents can be imported and new documents can be exported once complete. So regardless what software the document was originally created on, Lucidcharts will allow you to continue the creation process.

Cons: I like everything to be perfect, on occasion it can be a pain in order to get the lines straight. A small issue, just something that can be time consuming depending on the size of the chart

Overall: As the software can be free, this allowed me to complete my necessary charts

Pros: I have used this on a few dozen charts that I have needed and I have had very few problems with it. It seems to be a good mid-range product. It is not overly simplistic or too complex. It will satisfy most of your chart making needs.

Cons: This product targets the mid range of use. If you are creating lots and lots of charts and want it very simply and quickly done, this product might be a little difficult for some users. On the other hand if you are trying to make some very complex flow charts, this might be a little too simplistic. However if you are in between those uses for infrequent chart needs, then this product will work just great.

Overall: For infrequent and mildly complex chart needs, this software serves that group very well.

Pros: Online, always available, syncs everywhere

Cons: A little slow at times, keeps forcing me to select "Try Beta" (I only use the beta)

Overall: I was skeptical at first, what could a browser based diagramming tool do that a desktop tool such as Visio or Omnigraffle could do. In the end I was proven wrong, Lucidchart has everything I need.

There is a little bit of a performance issue with highly complex diagrams, my [Chrome] browser starts to spin up CPU, but for the general use case it works flawlessly and my colleagues and I can collaborate as nicely as with Google Docs.

Speaking of which, the Docs Add-In is quite helpful, just with it didn't index with tab position...when I reorganize my tabs the images in my Google Doc changes drastically. Tab offset should be replaced by tab identifier.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it for real for a month, I guarantee you you'll never go back!

Pros: It's easy to access and integrates with Google (our email platform).

Cons: We did experience frequent connectivity and broadband issues, but our network infrastructure has been updated, and these issues are less frequent.

Overall: We have been using Lucidcharts for several years and love the improved features (web images, collaboration, drag and drop, automatic arrows, etc.). We are a one-to-one laptop school, and our students are advanced digital media users, so new users might take more time to learn the product, but once learned, should have no trouble using it for a variety of tasks. We use the charts for vocabulary maps, concept mapping, writing planners, project planning, storyboards, and decision trees. Thank you Lucidchart for allowing our small school for at-risk learners grow using your product. Your generosity is appreciated. I encourage all of our teachers to use Lucidcharts!

Comments: Lucidchart has the features and usability that I needed to replace desktop tools for our entire team. Its interface is current and easy to use, and viewers accessing files have a good experience. I really enjoy the simultaneous near real-time collaboration which I had never seen in other applications, cloud-based or desktop. Lucidchart offers robust creation tools, can be used for multiple applications and offers a functional mobile app.

Pros: The ability for all different kinds of models, even our setting plans

Cons: I find sometimes, some different types of models I'm required to do are missing as presets, butI make them up using other shapes

Overall: My experience with lucid chart has been great, not only does it help me with all my work diagrams (including BPMN, ERD and ORM) but it helps me sneak in some of my university assignments too where the uni provided software falls short, and when you own a MAC that doesn't allow their recommended visio, then it's super handy :)

Comments: This application is very convenient to use, even for people who aren't familiar with mainstream diagramming tools like Visio. It's convenient because you can easily share your diagrams and work concurrently online on the same drawing, and then backup your documents to Google drive or download as a PDF or other supported format. For me, the ability to diagram AWS environments is extremely useful, and I am looking forward to testing out the feature where it will design a diagram from my existing environment for me.

Pros: Easy to use, concurrently work on the same diagram with others

Pros: Using Lucid the ability to keep all of my individual thoughts when I am brainstorming in one place was a fantastic feature of the software. Also, when working with a group of people having the ability to keep everyone's thoughts and ideas in a centralized location was very efficient. Not only does it provide a way to keep information stored cleanly. This software also provides the ability to create efficient and effective flow charts from the previous stored thoughts and ideas. Overall a great software.

Cons: The biggest Con I had with the software was the learning curve. At times some of the controls and interface was not as intuitive as I would have liked to see. After time using the software it becomes more natural and easier to ease. Not many cons from me when using this software.

Pros: This makes mockups and flow charts very easy to make. Those are the two main things I use it for. It does help me organize any structures or other ideas I need to see to think through and that makes it great for going from planning to action on something.

Cons: When it comes to work flows and processes, it's difficult to connect items unless you're giving them a lot of space for clean lines and directions. A little more customization options when it comes color and shapes would be nice, but it works for what I need it to do and probably does a lot more than I use it for.

Pros: - Easy to use to draft out projects. - Affordable for the purpose of the software.

Cons: - Could definitely use an application on iOS or Android to draft projects on the go. - Big focus on IT and web related projects which translates in the symbols and icons to use. Could use more different icons for traditional project management as well.

Pros: Simple to use, simple interface and not packed with loads of features I don't need. It's intuitive with a good UX, and stable enough to trust.

Cons: I still use Balsamiq and Axure for more hardcore prototyping work, but this isn't LucidChart's sole target area. I haven't completely got to grips with offline mode yet, so lucky i'm always online!

Pros: It is a software is very powerful to make flow charts and sketches, the software has many templates, this makes the job easier. The software allows you to import files from other software, this allows compatibility. Also, I like the management of documents in folders. Also, it allows to make presentations of the works. The best, you work from the web browser and there is a local version, you do not need to install the software and it is multiplatform.

Cons: The software does not have page formats, so you have to build them with the same shapes, which is why it is difficult to work when the document has an identification and margin format. There are few themas by default for the shapes. The name of the document is not displayed from the work window.

Overall: This software has allowed me to create works of flow diagrams very quickly; and also the possibility of making presentations from the same software reduces the time of preparation of presentations.

Comments: The shared usage was the most useful feature. Better than sharing files. The drawing templates were reasonably good, the features are reasonably good. There were very few things that could not be done in Lucid, and most of those things were not essential to the collaboration.

Pros: Shared content easily Links persist when pasted into wiki Integration with Confluence is well done.

Cons: Some drawing features were non standard keystrokes (for example, duplicating selected objects) The layers feature is somewhat janky

Pros: It is easy to use and easy to share with other people
The integration with our documentation product is very nice (ITGlue and Confluence)
It is much better suited for the types of network drawings we do.

Cons: The layout of the work surface takes a bit of time to get used to if you are coming from another Microsoft product.
The enterprise price is a little expensive per user.

Pros: This software makes creating org charts very easy and almost fun to do (no, really!). Adding boxes or lines is very quick, and little guidelines pop up to show the user whether or not one item is aligned to others. You can make the org chart as complicated or easy as you like. You can add bare bones boxes with print, or you can add individual profiles for each person as you add them to the page. I LOVE the printing feature -- the PDF it creates will be split by page, so when you print it out you can simply align each page side-by-side to see the full view of the org chart, or choose to print only certain departments (pages).

Cons: Sometimes I have issues with the full page loading or cutting off a certain section. I also find that the reporting lines do not always align as it seems they should. You have to go in and manipulate these sometimes.

Overall: Org chart.
