By processing mapping, it helps me to visualize where we need to go and what existing gaps are. Pros I love how easy Lucidchart is to use! I use it for process mapping primarily, and I love that I'm able to create a process map template that I can go back and use, whether it be for infection control issues or developing a process for glucometer quality checks. It's a versatile tool that I was able to quickly pick up in the 6 months I've been at my company. Cons As I'm still relatively new to my job, I don't have a basis for what the old tool was before we implemented Lucidchart. The only suggestion I would have, which may not even be a capability for Lucidchart, is to be more compatible with Microsoft Teams. Sometimes the format gets distorted when I try to upload a document to Teams, but that may ultimately just be an issue with Teams since I know it's not compatible with other applications I use. Free to use. Ability to collaborate with others and store on Google Drive. Web based, so no local software needed on your computer. Pros What I like the most is its intuitive and easy to use interface, when I signed up I was able to start creating professional diagrams right away and that impressed me because I didn't need to watch or study any tutorial or guide. With the wide variety of templates and predefined forms, it is easy for me to create flowcharts, organization charts, mind maps. Cons I think the price is a bit high and I would also like to see the ability to customize the diagrams improve. Although it offers a wide range of templates, I would like the option to further customize the elements of my diagrams. I like it's simplicity Pros Because it is a browser based tool that is easy to use, I use it as a tool for brain storming and mapping out my thoughts. I find this type of tool is better at showing my colleagues my thoughts than a presentation. Who is working on what is easily seen through it. The most important benefit is , it is very easy to learn. Pros The use of lucid has provided very nice, responsive flow charts, which give so much information. It is pretty simple to learn. Just start using it and in no time you will be able to do wonderful stuff. It has a nice integration with other apps and has good quantity of libraries. It makes us learn about our requirements and what the client needs. We can easily see who is working on what work, it has made collaboration so easy. Cons It is little overpriced, due to which many opt out of it. It is very smooth and have nice templates, but I think the number of templates could have been more. They can be shared directly with my team members. Separate access rights can be assigned to each user. It even supports sharing the link with users. Very easy to create flow charts because it has a unique connection making system. I export the created diagrams in a transparent canvas and crop them to the required size when necessary. The digrams can be blend to the documents with these techniques. Pros This tool is an ideal tool to create flow charts, state machines, use case diagrams etc. Most of the time I use this tool to create flow charts for my algorithms. This diagrams can be directly exported to image formats and even into google slides slide show. Very easier to use drag and drop interface comes very handy to create quick diagrams. Another best thing is that it is directly compatible with google classroom project hance can be used with it directly. It supports importing images and clip arts to the drawing canvas, even the PNG images with the transparent background is supported by it. When saving we can save as different formats. I usually use png format with transparent background. It even supports the PDF format. Cons The pricing scheme is monthly payment system. It is a little bit problematic when this tool is needed during report creation or presentation creation. They should introduce another package in pay per use system. From the ease of installation, the excellent technical support when needed, and the easy to learn interface is quite valuable. Pros The ease of installation The online support Ease of use, not a big learing curve. Cons I don't use the collaborative tools much. Pros I have been using LucidChart for almost 5 years, I’ve used it for assignment in my job, college and even for personal projects. I consider that is an easy tool, where you can create flowcharts. You don’t need previous experience to understand the platform. I like that that give free space to work which is a great option when you are starting and want to test the software before investing money. Something that was very useful in my collage project was that you can collaborate with more people at the same time and you can serve your work in various formats. Cons Considering that is a web application you can’t use it without internet. And the free version has limited space, if you exceed 60 objects the document won’t be able to be edited anymore. With the biggest upside being collaboration and source of truth file storage using their SAAS platform. Pros I love the ability to share diagrams using lucid charts, and having all my source diagrams stored in one location is a game changer for me. I only wish my last job paid for this tool, as it has been a huge help and time saver with diagramming and managing version changes. Great price, and easy to export and share which are huge upsides to this tool Cons there are small things that are annoying about lucidchart. Nothing to keep me from using it, but things that make it difficult: - no paste formatter (at least not that I can find) - The 'full screen' mode doesn't set up well for presentations. It would be nice to have a 'presentation' mode. But alas I can't find a button for that either. - some shapes are missing, they do really well to keep the icons for different cloud providers up to date, but finding extra shapes like different pointed stars, can be surprisingly difficult. Full-featured, easy to use, and constantly improving. Pros Visio just costs too much! A good alternative for us was to use Lucidchart. It supports Visio and so we didn't have trouble with importing or migrating. Lucidchart didn't require much learning curve since it is fairly straight forward and easy to navigate. All our workflow and diagramming needs can be done within Lucidchart and the best part (compared to our lower version of Visio) is that we were able to work in teams collaboratively on the same charts. Work has been completed faster even with remote team members. I love the offline mode, this is the closest I could get to a native app response time without the need for connectivity. Cons I prefer a desktop application since for me it normally runs faster compared to running the same application via a web app or browser. Depending perhaps on our current internet situation Lucidchart can sometime feel laggy or clunky. It is very easy to create diagrams and clearly show people who may be unfamiliar with notations how our workflow currently is and ways to improve it. Pros Lucidchart is very aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. It provides little tutorials as well to remind you how to create BPMN diagrams and workflows and the different meanings of each 'symbol'. Cons Lucidchart only allows 3 free working projects and the previous ones will become view only. But this is only an issue for free users, people who pay for the subscription will not encounter many cons. In terms of use, I have no words, it is more than enough. Pros Their output capabilities are pretty good, as are their import capabilities. It is very advantageous that it can work directly integrated with Jira (at least for our company), and it is very successful in synchronization.The drag and drop system is fluid, even though I work on the same file for hours, I don't experience any slowdowns. Cons I think more components, use cases, more up-to-date support and training program (available) for on-prem could be provided.At the moment I also need customizable components, I would like to be able to do it with a capable tool without importing them from outside. No tool comes close to have the number of templates, options, and customizability. Pros I love that Lucidchart has so many templates to start a new project from. Almost all the time, I have an idea in my head of what I want my chart to look like, but I don't want to have to create it from scratch. I also like the tips that pop up on the side or bottom of the page of how to use certain functions. Generally the tools are intuitive to use. The integration with my company's helpdesk is cool too. Cons Sometimes using arrows to connect shapes takes awhile to get right - less intuitive than I'd think.
