July 27, 2017 5.0 We use it to chart all of our marketing flow charts. It is easy to use and can be share easily. It's saved us a lot of time by providing a visual chart to others in the department. Pros It's very easy to use and is cloud based. I don't have to worry about saving and backing up a document. Also, publishing the chart on the web for my boss to view is very easy. It is also very reasonably priced for everything that you get. They keep making product enhancements that are very useful and easy. It's also very easy to export files to share. However, it was a very short time from when I figured out the basic functions, to when I was creating complicated process design flows and detailed user interface mock-ups, and impressing my clients and co-workers. We have been using Lucidchart on a pilot basis for a specific project, but based on the features and functionality available (after some training for those stuck in the Visio world), we are recommending Lucidchart become the go-to tool for creating and maintaining user interface mock-ups for our systems development and maintenance projects. Pros Number of types of tools to create charts, as well as the number of styles within a set of tools. It has felt like there are infinite possibilities of charts to create. Cons Not sure if there is a way to "lock" some combined pieces of of a chart, so that you can move the entire "collection" together, and not have to move all separate pieces individually? I know you can lock the whole chart. Sometimes I would create a chart, but then further info would be provided, so the chart needed to be modified, but as more space was needed in a specific area, I would have to move all of the individual pieces of a section, rather than the whole section, to accommodate new pieces. It often became very time-consuming to "relocate" a section of the chart because of how complicated it was. Review Source CH Chris H. I am a visual learner, so being able to see and organize your ideas like this helps tremendously. Pros At first I found this software to be a little difficult to use. I used it to organize my ideas when building websites because Adobe Muse was discontinued. After getting the hang of it, you can use it for pretty much anything. Thinking maps, research, developing, and a lot more. I like that it has the option to integrate it to your Office 365 account. Makes life so much easier. Cons I dislike that you have to pay for this kind of software. I think it should be free. Although it isn't that expensive, but I still think it should be free. It has great collaborative options, templates for quick and easy diagrams, and smooth UI. It provides a lot of shapes, and building blocks for different kinds of diagrams and supports almost every kinds of diagrams you can imagine. Cons LucidChart is amazing, but it comes with a subscription price of around 10$ a month. There is no standalone desktop application for LucidChart, and you have to use it through a browser. Its cheaper (especially if you stick with the free version), and provides as much, if not more functionality in a package that is constantly updated. I've never had an issue with files getting lost or going missing or getting corrupted, so this tool checks all the boxes for me and my organization. Pros Significantly easier to use than Visio. Free version is very capable, and the available graphics and design options are constantly kept up to date. I primarily use this for AWS architecture diagrams, and the icons are updated pretty quickly after AWS makes a change to them. Cant be beat! Cons I have nothing that really stands out that I don't like about LucidChart. However, the login and print functionality could be enhanced a bit and simplified. Printing is sometimes problematic. I ues this pretty extensively for that kind of collaboartion. Pros The collaboration that let's people view and manipulate a board all together. Comes in handy when remotely trying to engage a group. I also appreciate all the prebuilt templates for when I need to map out processes or flows. Cons More templates per cost point woudl be helpful. Sometimes I find I click when I have to doubleclick, so there coudl be some actions that could be more intuitive as you build out layer upon layer. March 26, 2019 5.0 Pros I've been using this software for several years now... at least since 2012 (but probably before that). When I need to map out a process or strategy, this is my go to software. It's helped me with a lot of presentations and helped me close a lot of business by helping make my ideas clear. Highly recommend it. It is a very good choice for both personal use and professional use. Cons It would be helpful if we could customize and create our personalized templates, and share those internally for re-use. I really think it has everything you need, but I think there really is a fine line with its competitors. Pros System and architecture visualization.When doing system diagrams, Lucidchart is really good, and I think it has more images and diagrams to import than any other, and when I say diagrams I mean you search up for Elastic search, and it likely has the exact icon or image you are looking for. Cons I think there a few other platforms to consider as an alternative, I think Lucidcharts works very well but I cant really saw there is one thing it does much better than others. It almost didn't take time to learn this software as everything was very intuitive and simple. I made tens of flow charts for presentations, posters, grant proposals, papers, and all the people loved the outputs so much. So we decided to upgrade our account so we can use it more extensively. Cons It's almost embarrassing​ that Lucidchart is missing a lot of common shapes. For instance, a curved arrow is something that we need relatively often, but it doesn't exist in their shape collection. Read a thread in their forum that was written like a couple of years ago suggesting to create one, and the answer from Lucidchart was like "you can make one and upload as an object." Previously I used Microsoft Word or Powerpoint to do this, but that took me so much time that I thought I'd give Lucidchart a try. With the trial of the premium version, I was able to create a detailed diagram in much less time than it took me before, and I was able to focus on the content and meaning more than just getting the diagram to look right. Pros Lucidchart makes creating fantastic-looking charts extremely easy. Every other system I've used as a student wasn't designed specifically for making custom charts, and so every other solution I've tried has not come close to what Lucidchart offers. It's easy to create process charts, and what's even better, you can rearrange them without losing the meaning of the chart since the arrows and relationships all adjust as you make changes. The outputs look fantastic and it's easy to access from anywhere. Cons Honestly I couldn't find anything to dislike. Design and layout of web pages and software applications is a great deal of our business. After trying a bunch of different tools, we decided on Lucidchart. It has all of the basics and a lot of images to choose from. It allows us to easily share our designs with our customers without having to purchase additional licenses. Only negative would be that it's hard to move elements around if there a lot on the page. Pros Pretty easy to use. Pros What I like about this software is that it allows you to create diagrams with such ease, it is not at all complicated to use, and you can use it for many different diagrams, for example, UML, ER of a database, among others. Pros I especially liked how their subscription plan works. You can maintain the free version to store all your designs and when you need to do a new design, you can upgrade your subscription for that month. Afterward, you can easily downgrade to the free version. You are only paying for the software when you need to use it. Cons It doesn’t remind you to downgrade your subscription after you are done using it. So, it is important that you remember to do this immediately after your design is complete. Cons Once it is in there it is in there, sometimes would be nice to have an offline mode of some kind so that you can create without it being shared right away. there are workarounds but an offline mode would be great. Pros Gostei de possuir um design muito simples e mesmo assim tendo diversas opções de personalização de diagramas, além do fato de que ele possui a opção de download online de tipos diferentes de diagrama. Ex: Digrama de Casos de Uso, Diagrama de Classes, etc. Cons não há algo muito ruim em especifico no Lucidchart, porém vale comentar que só são permitidas abrir para edição 3 diagramas, é possível criar infinitos diagramas e salva-los como quiser, mas eles estarão disponíveis apenas para visualização, apenas 3 poderão ser editados Review Source RN Ram N.
