It's always a good process and I've never had anyone struggle to use it Pros is a great tool for both creating process diagrams, and using as a collaboration tool in both remote working and live meetings environments.It allows me to easily keep meetings on track, and create process flows and diagrams quickly and easily. Cons Sometimes certain default components feel a little dated on terms of UX and colours, so it can sometimes take a little extra time to make a diagram feel more modern, however the functionality exists to make this not painful, but would be nice if the default styles/colours had some more modern options. The feature that I liked the most were the templates. This was very helpful when drawing wireframes for interfaces. For simple diagrams this is very handy. The best feature would be its user interface. The plus point about Lucidchart is that not only do they support drawing UML diagrams, they also have a YouTube channel that explains all UML diagrams in a very simple and clear way. Cons The paywall behind this can be annoying. It allows you to have only a certain number of diagrams and once it exceeds that amount the oldest diagram becomes read only. It was easy to use and to learn, with easy to follow help online for flowchart creation. The main benefit we found with this software was it's integration with Google Suites. With our company using Google Suites, this software easily integrates with other Google software and email. Cons It is a very basic software with limited features that we used, which was flowchart management. We used it for a short while as our company transitioned to Google-based software, however we've since gone back to Visio for it's better features and functionality. Not to mention the Collaboration Tools, you can share a drawing and multiple people can work on it at the same time. The free version is easy to make small diagrams with and test out the functionality before deciding if the paid version is best for your team/company. Almost every team I have been on prefers using Lucidchart as it stops us from using the wrong version of a diagram if we just use the same document link. Pros It offers similar functionality to Microsoft Visio but in a cloud based, collaborative environment. It has built in version control to keep track of all the changes that are made and by who. You are able to export the diagrams you make into a multitude of formats (PDF, PNG, JPEG, VDX, etc.) Cons Converting the diagrams to Visio files and vice versa can cause some issues with the diagram format. Pros is very easy to use and represents incredible value for money when compared with MS Visio. There are lots of templates to get you started, plenty of import/export options and the ability to collaborate/share with others. I also like the ability to set up folders to help organise my diagrams. Cons There really isn't much to dislike. January 26, 2019 4.0 Pros The best part of using the Lucid chart is its high level of customization like you can choose the themes, colors etc. The application is very easy to learn and get used with the application and it provides a variety of geometric shapes. They have great export features, wait and all these features are available at a very affordable rate. You can create charts in no time with the drag and drop functionalities. It is very flexible, and it has helped us in dealing with network maps. You don’t need to be technically sound to use this application, you can just get used to this software in no time! Cons The loading speed of the application is determined by the respective browser we use, it has created issues in a few scenarios. I hope they would improve the importing capabilities because I found it very difficult to import previous designs and sharing links as well as documents are indeed a task! The free version of Lucidchart will allow up to 3 documents at any given time, however this didn't affect my experience. Lucidcharts is easy to use with plenty of templates that can be altered. The processes are easy to follow with the software labelling all of the objects that can be used for the creation process. All charts are saved to the cloud, therefore alterations can be made regardless of which device you're working on. Existing documents can be imported and new documents can be exported once complete. So regardless what software the document was originally created on, Lucidcharts will allow you to continue the creation process. Cons I like everything to be perfect, on occasion it can be a pain in order to get the lines straight. Pros I've used a few flowchart tools for basic flowcharts and is by far the best. I love the ability to easily move shapes around after they've been placed (which is key when re-working processes) and the ability to easily change shapes and control the style of lines and how they connect has also been extremely helpful. Cons It's slightly more expensive than some of it's competitors and the trial only allows you to use a few of the features. The team structure is also a little confusing as it gives you a range for number of users. There are so many built-in templates and options that our group - which does its fair share of charting - has found countless new ways to display our information that we'd never have conceived otherwise. Where most flowchart software is clunky, is quick and clean, but with plenty of options for adding information, pictures, and aesthetic elements. Lucidchart seems to grasp that although these diagrams are often most useful for technical staff, they're frequently presented to leadership, too, and they need to look great. There are always other tools that are already provided by my company that I look for first so it never seems worth the price of a license. It's convenient because you can easily share your diagrams and work concurrently online on the same drawing, and then backup your documents to Google drive or download as a PDF or other supported format. For me, the ability to diagram AWS environments is extremely useful, and I am looking forward to testing out the feature where it will design a diagram from my existing environment for me.
