I'm thankful for the additional time I have been able to gain from doing my diagrams on Lucidchart's quick platform. Pros I found this software after realizing I had been spending way too long on other platforms putting together charts that did not look nearly as nice as the templates on Lucidchart. Lucidchart has a wide range of templates, and with the paid version I was able to access all of the features necessary to quickly create a great looking chart. Cons You really need to get the paid version to make Lucidchart useful. The basic, free version does not allow enough features to even complete a full chart. Review Source Matthew R. Was charged for months (and again this month after they credited 8 previous months, while have reverted to free version 9 months ago). You can basically do anything you can dream up in here when it comes to wire-framing. As long as you are a skilled presenter, I find the tool to be easily digestible for most audiences. Cons It's not really a con, but can I say it's too complicated? It's definitely a personal preference because of what I'm using it for, but sometimes it is hard to just create a very simple diagram like you can in Google Draw. Pros We like how it is so much cheaper than Visio but does everything we needed to do in Visio. It's also very convenient that it is web-based, as you can use your account from any computer and it makes user turn over easier. Cons Some features (like changing line style) were not very intuitive, but after clicking around for a few minutes, I found what I needed to. Very short, targeted training videos might help, as opposed to longer, more generic ones. I never had training on how to use Lucidchart and I skipped the walkthrough just because I was in a rush. With that being said, I was able to get my workflow created and exported in less than a half hour! Easy to use, no non-sense and straightforward. I will definitely be using it more in the future and look forward to learning the in's and out's of Lucidchart Cons I don't have a lot of experience with Lucidchart so not enough time to find what I least like about the software. My teams of students appreciate the endless diagramming boards and easy, drag-and-drop features. I appreciate the ability to set up and save templates for use in other projects and the ability to review all changes made to the document. Pros Makes collaborative group work interactive and easy. Easy to learn, use and share. Simple, yet effective for moderate complexity in flow-chart diagramming. Able to review history of all changes made to flow charts. Endless canvas. Pros I have used this on a few dozen charts that I have needed and I have had very few problems with it. It seems to be a good mid-range product. It is not overly simplistic or too complex. It will satisfy most of your chart making needs. Cons This product targets the mid range of use. If you are creating lots and lots of charts and want it very simply and quickly done, this product might be a little difficult for some users. On the other hand if you are trying to make some very complex flow charts, this might be a little too simplistic.
