They'll take one look at the competition in LucidChart and say, "Forget it, we'll never compete." I've used LucidChart to outline SOPs, build PowerPoint presentations, and map personal notes. It's drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to use, and, often times, it's actually fun! Commenting is easy. Cons Easy to accidentally mess up, which may be an issue on my own end but sometimes while drawing certian arrow types, it'd go in a weird direction. It is easy to create projects – even for free. Cons What I really hated is, that it only informed me I needed the pro version after my project became too complex. Sometimes is slow to load, or it automatically creates arrows that I don't want when I'm working on a wireframe. In general is good, but I feel that for the money I pay I could get more. Pros It easy to learn how to use Cons Terrible when you want to share your work with outside users I pay a good subscription and the tools that I get for wireframes are very basic It always draws arrows automatically even though I'm building wireframes. I originally got the pro version in the middle of an organization-wide restructuring, where it was super useful to map out all the organizational relationships. It was so easy that I use it for a whole variety of things now. It's honestly shockingly simple to use, and always produces really professional looking charts. Cons The object limit on the free version seems way too low. Sometimes it's hard to register a click on the right element, but no worse than any others. Review Source ES Evan S. I will keep this tool in my back pocket. Pros Excellent for layering data with visuals--much easier than in any Microsoft product, and their customer support will readily help if you get stuck. Really a great addition to any business process management tool chest. Cons Depending on the other products available and organizational needs, it won't always make sense to front the money for licenses. It should be considered as an alternative to Visio or any process mapping software. I’ve experienced other softwares and they weren’t so simple to understand for me or the team. So thank you very much for allowing us to communicate effectively as a team! Cons Although there is a undo button, it’s difficult for me when trying to make adjustments with lines and diagrams on the go from the iPad. Other than that nothing bad to say about Lucidchart. Cons There are tons of feature about layout constraints that are missing, making the software a draft or poor sketch solution approach limiting the usability of the software itself. Also, if you compare pricing vs desirability of your deliverables maybe there are other tools that can fill better this gap. Pros It's a very quick tool which allows you to solve diagrams in a very quick way. The free trial allows you to have an approach to the tool, which is very useful for a kick-off or an intro to a project while you are choosing the tool you are going to work. Cons Sadly, free trial gets short at time to fidelize you because you can't develop it with the free trial restrictions (a short number of pages) and the short period of the trial. Love the little boxes that pop up an show me the new cool additions to the tool. Also the Support team is awesome. Cons Sometimes it can be slow when I am pulling up complicated sheets. While my friends were losing hours and their sanity trying to build flowcharts with other programs I was cruising through assignments and always ended up with a product that looked better than theirs. Lucidchart makes this easy by providing useful tools and an intuitive interface. The collaboration tools are great as well. Also, by allowing my professors to define a set of components, searching for the right set of diagram components is a lot easier. Pros Intuitive interface. All necessary tools available. November 20, 2018 5.0 Pros I currently use LucidChart in an educational setting and it has been quite valuable. It is very feature-rich but doesn't overwhelm you with too many gadgets and gizmos. It's quite intuitive and easy to learn and has just about any sort of diagramming you could desire. Cons I don't really have any cons about the software right now. I guess I would like the opporunity to upload my own images to be used later, maybe that's already a thing? December 26, 2018 5.0 Lucid Chart makes it easy to map out processes and make flowcharts. Pros We use Lucid Chart all the time at work when we work with a new client in order to map out our service process. Our client loved it. We mainly use it to make flowcharts, but we have also used it to create organizational charts as well internally. The chart makes everything easy to follow so everyone can be on the same page. When there are updates, we easily can go into the account and make modifications. What's great is that you can export to different files to share with others. Cons The account is listed under one person only so you need their login to gain access to the Lucid Charts if you want to make edits. We had to transfer ownership. I find it's not always easy to re-create charts, the lines can be finicky to move. Pros Works well for drawing out wireframes and organising thoughts. Cons Constant attempts to upsell users, leading to interruptions to our workflow when those with paid plans are not available for a meeting.
