However, the concept of browser-based flowcharting was a direction that seemed to make a lot more sense because of the need for collaboration. It is clean, simple and does everything that most people will need out of a process mapping tool. Pros It is very easy to use and setup. I think my favorite part is that you can use it for free to get your feet wet and a feel for the product. If you are comfortable with Visio you will be comfortable with this product. Cons It has fewer advanced features like Visio but for most people this won't be a huge issue. Additionally this is subscription based so it is a recurring charge. Review Source JB Jeremy B. Having Lucid is helping my team visualize and implement process improvements daily. Pros The software is pretty simple to use. Without having read directions or seen any tutorials, I was able to get started in about 5 minutes and easily navigate the tool. After going through their university and learning a few other best practices, Lucid became an effortless tool to you Cons I think some of the pre-built icons have the same title and use and therefore become redundant. It would be great if they could expand the icon base and not have as many redundant process boxes. Cons There is nothing much that I don't like about Lucidchart. The free version is good but it is limited in functionality. It cannot be exported to other applications and there is no presentation mode in the free version. Lucid Chart makes building those flow charts way easier than using something like Word. Must use for any student in a CS or CSE major. Pros The scaling and use of arrows is the most satisfying experience ever. Also, It is great that it saves all of your work into separate documents.
