It's a good software that will likely only get better, but it's not great yet. Pros I've used Lucidchart off and on for years. I appreciate the software, but its best feature may also be its most frustrating: the cloud based nature. Cons Being cloud based, some of the controls can be clunky. Pros There are several templates that make it quick and easy to create diagrams. Exporting to pdf or image formats works satisfactorily. Cons I often had problems changing fonts and font sizes. Pros We currently utilize Lucidchart for a number of items, but most importantly flowcharts and organizational charts are where we find the most use. Lucidchart has a number of options and settings available to make it as easy as possible to build robust charts that are exportable once complete. It is more intuitive and more friendly for a shared work environment. Pros This software is much easier to use and more intuitive than the unnamed flowchart and process diagram software that has been out for many years/ couple decades. While the more established flowcharting software really set the foundation, it hasn't grown and kept up as well with ease of use and features that can be found in LucidChart. Cons Some people are not as familiar with it, but it is easy to use and get the hang of. For students it is simple to use, makes diagramming more fun. There is a good library to choose symbols from. I as a teacher like that students can access from home if needed. Students can also save to google drive using different file formats. Cons I really do not have any complaints for the free version, we only recently started using it. We love the tie into our Slack and the ability to export or share our charts with clients. Lots of great tools to use. Cons The app has so many great tools but the instructions are really lacking. Pros The amount of time it takes to create and fine-tune a chart is cut in half or more vs the free versions Cons It is something you keep around but barely use after things have been charted. Recommended. Pros Lucidchart offers a clean and easy to use system, that makes designing and creating diagrams and charts fairly easy. Cons As it is online based it is limited on the offline side of things. Though this isn't completely a bad thing as you can use it anywhere on almost any device.
