My experience has been wonderful. I have 0 complaints & love the ease of use, affordability & options Shippo provides.

Pros

I love that Shippo links directly to my website. It not only automatically brings orders into the program for easy use, it also automatically send my customers their tracking information without me having to do anything extra! The prices are very fair & I like that there is no monthly fee.

Cons

I wish there was an “address book” of sorts, so I could save the names/addresses of the people I ship to most often.

Pros

It is so easy to use, yet gives valuable information.

Cons

I really feel that this product does not have a high learning curve, it is very easy to use. I can't really say there is anything I would change.

The Shippo software has worked great. I do not think there would be a more economical product out there on the market. Shippo is really reasonable in their rates and this helps with a smaller company. The only comment I would make in regards to improvement is it would be nice if the Live Chat was available more often. There have been a number of times that I have not been able to reach via live chat and have to send and wait for an email response. But they are good at responding. The live chat does help as often the question comes up as you are trying to ship and need to "chat" right away. Thank you, to all of you at Shippo for making shipping easy and economical and thank you for your great customer support.

Pros

This product has integrated very well with BigCommerce and works great. Provides all the features required to print shipping labels etc.

Cons

The only con is what is mentioned below regarding that it would be helpful if the Live Chat was available more often.

I appreciate all that they are doing to bring eCommerce to food and beverages in a meaningful way. It's nice to know everything I need will be in one place and I can search for problems before I reach out to their team for more information. It's rare that my problem and troubleshooting aren't available in their help system.

Pros

I love the adaptability and software applications that I can use. I have discovered several spaces where I needed to streamline or needed an application function(s) that were already synced and functional with Shippo. Their customer service is OTC- Off The Charts- responsive and very empathetic to a sometimes overwhelmed solopreneur.

Cons

I would like to be able to update the look of the dashboard with weekly stats/updates available to show how much Shippo saves me time and energy.

Reason for choosing Shippo

The mascot, copywriting/language use, customer service interface, and overall layout of the product were my deciding factors. I also liked there was not an ounce of pressure to do the paid tiers if I didn't need that level of bells/whistles for my business.

Overall my experience has been outstanding. I can't believe how easy it and cost-effective it makes my shipping process. Shipping is my biggest headache in my business and this has streamlined it so much that I now actually look forward to getting to go on Shippo because I know it will be easy.

Pros

Shippo has hands-down the best rates for all shipping companies, that I've found, including at the shipping companies' own store locations. I use UPS and USPS most frequently and always get better rates on Shippo then I do in-person at their locations.

Cons

The only complaint I have is that sometimes an address will auto-populate that's close to the address I'm typing in, but not the correct one. It's almost like it will sometimes not find the street address that I need so instead it auto-populates the nearest address, even though it's the wrong one. Sometimes I don't even notice this until it's too late because it just auto-populates and I assume it was finding the correct address.

With the fact they do not have phone support I must tell you avoid their services. While there are links and procedures to follow to put through insurance claims or communicate other issues there is a lag time and don't expect a live person. My suggestion: Read their legal ease carefully, pick another service or simply buy direct where there may be a human to help...

Pros

It is easy to use and relatively fast to get an order processed and paid for.

Cons

...the shipping carriers they represent are not giving you exactly the same services as if you bought from them directly.... I send high value packages and I buy insurance for them. I tend to exclusively ship using the USPS option. It is the lowest price generally and they have never lost a package I have sent. The problem came when for the first time a client CLAIMED they did not receive the item. Short story is USPS did not know to require a signature and the package was left. Shipsurance shippos insurance claimed I didn't buy the signature required. However USPS does not require you buy it as an extra charge when the package exceeds $500. It automatically comes with it. Since shippo uses the carriers' logos, I assume I am actually buying from the USPS as they provide their service. I hand off the packages to the local post office and they scan it... Shame on shippo for not being EXTREMELY clear what you are buying and how they may be different then buying from the carrier themselves... A simple banner pop up saying are you aware... is critical but absent. Of course you can buy the extra service... but then I might have shopped around and that is why they don't... In my opinion.

Overall my experience has been a 10/10. In about 90% of shipments the rates on shippo are the best and the process is the quickest I’ve used.

Pros

The setup was a breeze and the rates are extremely competitive. One of my favorite features is the auto fill function with addresses. Payment is very straightforward and I enjoy reviewing the monthly reports on all my shipments.

Cons

The only negative I can say is that occasionally the auto fill on the address will pull something that is incorrect. I’ve had one package be shipped to the wrong address because of this. Luckily the address didn’t exist so the package was returned, but it took a full week to get it back and we had to reimburse the customer for the delay. I would suggest creating a review/confirm field after you click buy that allows you to review the final label for accuracy prior to it being purchased. I would have caught the error that way.

Stamps had a monthly account cost. It was far too expensive to justify the cost over shippo.

I switched because there was no monthly retainer charge as the number of shipments I send can vary drastically each month. So I wanted something that charged per shipment and not a minimum cost just to have an account. I also moved away from usps directly because their prices are just too high and their website is not good for anything other than priority mail.

### "Covers Multi Platforms"

Pros

I love that I can ship orders from several of my on-line stores form one location. My orders from Etsy and my own websight automaticly get sent to Shippo so I can prepare my shipping label and packing slip from one spot.

Cons

Sometimes I want to refund partial shipping cost to a customer if it cost less to ship then they were charged. I see no where I can do it from the Shippo sight so I still have to go back to Etsy or my sight and prepare their refund.

This software saves me time and money. Which is so important for a small buisness.

Pros

The software saves me from having to go to each individual website (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, Etsy) to look for the cheapest delivery rate.

Cons

This is so minor, but I would love to be able to organize the packaging list. I have at least 15 different box sizes and the average weight is dependent on the piece that I sold. So I have to hunt for the package I am looking for. And since there is no way to alphabetize the list it takes a minute to find what I am looking for.

Pros

Free plan gives you all you need. Not sure if the paid plan is really worth it unless you want personalized branding.

Cons

Costumer service can be a hit or miss when it comes to both knowledge and timing. Invoice are a bit confusing, not sure when they charge an invoice, but it gets old seeing so many invoice in a day instead of one large bill at the end. This also can cause confusion with the bank.

Saving a couple of bucks on USPS Flat Rate Boxes and Express Mailing envelopes has been a great help! I also vaguely remember that after signing up, someone from Shippo's customer service team reached out to ask if I needed a tutorial and even gave me a walk through of the services provided and answered any questions I had. I definitely felt welcomed and appreciated.

Pros

My favorite thing about this software is that to use it I did not have to be in E-Commerce. I am able to sign in and create a label manually and I am also able to upload a .csv file to create the labels needed for a mass shipping. The reason I use Shippo is because since last March my company has been working remotely. But at the end of the day we still needed a sure fire way to get new hire swag out to new employees and mail forwarding to my other teams. Before Shippo I was using the USPS website and right before shipping out 70 t-shirts the USPS software crash for 4 days. Not only was I under a time constraint but I had a lot of shipping to do! Shippo made mailing out those 70 packages super simple, fast and cheap! I also recently got a thermal printer and it was so easy to change the format the labels print in. I would definitely recommend Shippo.

Cons

What I least like about using Shippo is that currently, when my company mails out new hire equipment like laptops and monitors we like to ship through Fedex for insurance and delivery time purposes. My issue here is that because my whole company is remote, I receive the details for the label (recipient, address, weight and value) via email and am not able to fill out the entirety of the sections that need to be filled out on Shippo. Therefore, I mostly use Shippo for mail forwarding and new hire swag and I switch over to Fedex for equipment and time sensitive shipping.

### "Money not refunded "

They have not actually refunded me money that they say has been refunded.

Pros

Shippo makes it so easy to send a package. I like that you can get a shipping quote from multiple shipping companies.

Cons

I did not use two labels. They say I have been refunded, but the money is not in my account. There is no phone number to call, and I have been back and forth through email multiple times and they just give me the runaround.

From day 1, Shippo has allowed me to run my business effectively. I actively recommend the service to anyone in my field looking to ship products.

Pros

Shippo has allowed me to significantly expand my customer base by giving me efficient shipping means. I am able to ship all over the country easily because of the software. It helps my at home small business look even more professional to customers.

Cons

My e-commerce platform (Castiron) does not currently integrate with Shippo so I have to enter in each address. But that is something Castiron needs to adjust.

Reason for choosing Shippo

I chose Shippo because it accounts for the fact that I’m a very small business and still allows me to use the product like a larger company, but with smaller fees which is necessary for the ongoing existence of my business.

Good experience with Shippo. They are definitely one of the better shipping companies and would recommend using them.

Pros

Makes it easy to ship packages. It connects with your website to go ahead and pull your orders in and helps to make it easier to ship.

Cons

Costs have gone up and options are limited. The cost to ship items have increased a lot and some options have been removed to go ahead and ship so makes it tougher to pick a carrier.

Pros

We love Shippo because it is easy to compare rates between different shipping options. It is nice to have all of our shipping information from UPS, FedEx, and USPS all in one place. It has majorly cut down our shipping times. We also love that there is no monthly fee for the basic package.

Cons

It would be great to see the status of the package once it has shipped within the software. Specifically, it would be great to see whether or not the package has been delivered. Now I have to take the tracking number and put it in Google.

Shippo allows me to consolidate my shipping experience and saves me hours of time following up on orders, shipping internationally with ease, and most importantly, saving money on shipping costs.

Pros

The integrations with all of my sales channels make it so easy, when I receive an order anywhere, I can just log in to Shippo and in one click print the label and pack slip, or I can adjust any details, including adding insurance, customs information for international orders, or shipping carrier.

Cons

It's a tiny nitpick, but one that gets to me often. I use a lot of different size packages to ship my products, and it would be so nice if the package shipment option had a range of basic package sizes, e.g., letter-sized envelopes, cubes, etc., distinct from flat-rate USPS. Even just a quick fill option for a single, unique size for that order would be great.

Shippo helps us to quickly get through our orders with how it syncs with our Godaddy store. As a small business, Shippo streamlines our process so that we can concentrate on our customers.

Pros

I truly enjoy that the process is easy and it states clearly what my choices are. Searching for customers is easy as well. I have been using Shippo for years and have never had any mistakes or mess-ups in tracking or anything. Everything is up to date and quickly editable.

Cons

I do not like that if I go in and edit an address in the software and save it- it is not permanent. And I have to create that label right there if I want to save the address I changed it to. I don't know if it is my browser or not, but this has been and issue. Also, if I update an address on my selling platform, it doesn't sync with Shippo. But other than that I am happy with it.

Shippo was reality synced with our online shopping platform. We have stuck with it because it is dependable and we know it well.

Pros

I don't ship a lot, therefore I do not use the shippo premium package, but when I ship more this will definitely be the first software I'll be upgrading to a premium package. The software is so simple to use, everything frkm the ahipper is already setup in the system, it syncs great to our wordpress site to import the information on the orders. There's a couple of things that I would fix, but I believe those are all part of the monthly suscription already.

Cons

That I cant add two different credit cards and change which one I use with each order. I have to go into settings everytime to do that, which is much longer of a process than it needs to be.

It works for my business but I wish is was easier to use.

Pros

cheapest rates, easy to print off labels

Cons

features are confusing and hard to navigate. Very simple tasks require lots of google searching. Why can't I delete a label if I made a mistake on it? How do I edit the address of a label if the weight and dimensions are exactly the same? How do I make a label template? Customers service conversations are lengthy and do not always answer my question.

Pros

Ease of use, compared to UPS and others b2b software it doesn't feel like you're on something that hasn't been improved on since it originally was created.

Cons

Improve search using partial names to query your database of shipping addresses. We ship to the same people every month with our rental subscription so it would save use time when printing labels. Also I'd like to be able to have more shipping options for our returns. All of our items are returned at the end of the month, but I only get priority as a selection. I don't need the items returned as fast as I care about the items getting to our customer.

Pros

Shippo makes it easy to compare shipping options based on cost, arrival time, etc... and helps track deliveries. Also, it's a one stop shop for price comparison, printing labels, package tracking and maintaining a log of shipments, for future use.

Cons

There isn't anything I don't like. I have not experienced any negatives.

### "Extensive Feature Set, if a Little Clunky"

Pros

It's a good value for eBay sellers who are selling bulk or substantial amounts of items. It automatically imports orders (usually) and allows you to link other carriers like FedEx or UPS with it. It offers a bunch of customization options for the label layout and the packing slip, which is nice. The ability to have multiple stores linked and imported at the same price is great for the price, as most competitors will charge extra if you wanted to, for example, link an eBay store and an Amazon store to it simultaneously.

Cons

It has an outdated and clunky interface, which makes it difficult and challenging to navigate and perform certain actions such as reprinting a label or searching manually for a specific order. A separate postage provider (Pitney Bowes) means that if you ever have a dispute, such as voiding a label or an incorrect postage weight, this means you have to go through Pitney Bowes (a third party) and NOT Shippo to resolve the issue, which can be frustrating. When you import/refresh orders, sometimes you have to manually click the refresh button several times before the orders from a third-party seller (like eBay) before some orders show up in the list.
