Many of the leaders at these organizations have seen the value in Giveffect’s platform and are on the road to implementing the software into their day-to-day operations. Pros Giveffect is a powerful all-in-one platform that streamlines the coordination and management of nonprofit organizations so staff and volunteers can focus on making a positive impact. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another tool out there with such a comprehensive set of tools specifically designed to serve the nonprofit industry. Pros What I like most about the Giveffect platform is how it brings donor management, fundraising, volunteer coordination, and event planning all into one easy-to-use system. Development Manager Environmental Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Very Disappointed in Customer Service" October 31, 2019 2.0 Since the membership system in Giveffect isn't as robust as we need, it is not the all-in-one solution we expected. Pros This software is easy to use, intuitive, and the knowledge base and on boarding are well done. After orientation and with the help of customer support, our team quickly got a handle on our average tasks. The CRM features are very easy to get at a glance overviews of donors & I feel that we have a better handle on our prospecting since switching to this software. Cons The data migration progress for us was glitchy in our membership. Their automation was one of the reasons we wanted to switch, however, their automation when it doesn't work correctly can be a nightmare. During migration, their system encountered a glitch that ended up emailing over 700 donors with information about their membership expiring, even when it wasn't. While you're given a 2 week review to make sure your data is correct, it is useless if something like this happens as the database is "live" and will communicate with donors for a glitch like this. Our other issue is the membership module is quite basic and does not meet our needs. During our trial, we asked our sales rep about membership tiers to address the issue and she believed it was an easy fix. When we got to our transition in June, we questioned work arounds with our client success team. For 5 months, we have been chasing them down for answers. Their client success team and a separate feedback team keep promising that product team is working on a fix and deadlines pass with no communication and no fix. They have actively ghosted us on the issue now and it is appalling. They were promoted as incredibly responsive and were until we encountered a problem and now it just feels like we are being strung along for the duration of our 1st year contract. While software problems are to be expected the lack of customer service is awful and our biggest issue with this system. We transitioned over in March of 2025, and I know it was 100% the right decision. Pros It is a fantastic system. The value for the money is great. It is very user-friendly. The customer support is top-notch. Our account manager, \[sensitive content hidden\], is wonderful to work with. We use the system for donor and donation management, event ticketing, and peer-to-peer fundraising. It's easy to run reports, which has been a pain point before using Giveffect. Cons I have nothing major to note. Just a couple of enhancements I'd like to see like a pop-up on contact records for a deceased individual or a "do not solict" contact. March 10, 2025 5.0 Without Giveffect, we would not be able to keep track of our organization's many constituents as easily. Giveffect helps break down internal siloes and increases our ability to fundraise from different areas of our consituency. Pros From fundraising and events to volunteers and marketing, we do a lot at our small nonprofit. Giveffect is a great all-in-one platform that allows us to keep all our constituents all in one place. We can see who has donated, attended an event, participated in a program, volunteered--in Giveffect, our record-keeping is shared across departments and helps break down internal silos. We use it every day, and Giveffect's support team is always there to help us if we encounter any issues. Their online chat feature and the frequent check-ins from our account manager (Shout-out to \[sensitive content hidden\]! He's awesome!) are especially helpful for navigating our database. Cons With so many overlapping features, it took some time to wrap my head around how our database was set up (I was not part of the team that first signed up for Giveffect at our organization), and as with any nonprofit CRM, it's easy to clutter up our data. There have also been little limitations here and there that we wish were different about Giveffect, but their support team is great and helping us find workarounds and sending our feedback to their product team to implement changes. We were not able to access important information before to ensure accuracy, but all of that has changed by switching to Giveffect. Also, combining volunteers and donors was a difficult and cumbersome process for us, we used pen and paper to gather information for our volunteers and members. With Giveffect we were able to decrease the amount of manpower used to gather information and expand our reach into the community and create efficiency within our staff.” Pros The ease of learning the software. It was all in real time. You can run a report and see it right there on the screen. I also like the birthday campaigns. Office Manager Used the software for: ### "Giveffect Review" November 18, 2015 5.0 If you have been able to see the Giveffect demo then I am sure you are feeling the way we initially did - it sounds too good to be true!! We had our reservations about it not being as simple as the demo we saw, being too difficult to transfer our database (which they handle by the way!!) and so on, but at the end of the day what they were offering to us was an efficient, effective and an up-to-date platform so we took the leap. By switching to Giveffect we have eliminated having to use multiple platforms to function. Everything was separate for us before and we basically were spending a ton of time moving between software, platforms and systems that didn't communicate well together and/or did not allow us present the look and feel of our agency. With Giveffect we can easily accomplish all of our tasks from one platform AND on the front end of things it integrates seamlessly with our own website!! From the get go, Giveffect's customer service has been top notch - they've had an answer for every question we've had and their team is readily available whether it is through their online "Chat with Us" feature, via phone or via email. They also do an amazing job of listening to feedback and the needs of their clients then turning around and implementing updates which allows them to offer all of us a continually evolving solution. I can't even begin to explain the amount of time we now have available each day to focus our energies on the important stuff - the kids in our program and our mission. Highly recommended! Volunteer Coordinator Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great for Non-profits!" March 2, 2017 4.0 We decided that we were going to look for software that cut down on cost by not having to utilize various different software pieces and roll that into one. An example of this is that we found that our old Salesforce system was good with keeping information in, but was not good for communicating with our supporters so we used Mailchimp as well, but that also charges based on how many people you add to it. We also used Form Assembly ad WePay. So we wanted to narrow it down to one system, which could encompass all of our needs. I also needed a better way to record volunteer hours and data, we relly liked how Giveffect has the external logins. With Salesforce I had to go in and still manually input data into the database even though a volunteer had already registered with us. With Giveffect you can automatically check in and check out our volunteers, again with Salesforce we had to enter that information in manually which was tough because I would not always be on site. It came down to accuracy for us, Giveffect had a much easier interface, a much cleaner experience. Pros Easy interface, simple to learn. The Giveffect system is new and very different compared to what I've seen before. Since changing to Giveffect (cloud based) from a software based system, we've noticed that Giveffect is very intuitive. We don't need a lot of training to figure out how to use the system. The other nice piece is that they provide step-by-step video tutorials right in the Giveffect dashboard. They also have online chat support, which is really nice. We've not even had to use the chat support much at all. Giveffect really lives their mission, they roll out new features and updates about every two weeks. They are always innovating and improving the system. They truly offer easy to use fundraising tools that are all inclusive (CRM + P2P + email, donate, etc.) and offer great value for non-profits. Our old system did not manage Volunteers and Donations in one and the fact that we can do both with Giveffect was why we went with this system. We have had a good experience using Giveffect, the one feature that has really made my life easier has been the ability to do repeating shifts to schedule volunteers. It's a powerful tool and full featured, though some features are difficult to use or integrate. Pros Full featured. Giveffect's customer support, or Client Success Account Managers, are absolutely excellent; I've had great reps who know the system inside and out, with a fast response time. Even though we're a small nonprofit, we're treated like a top-tier and that feels good. The interface is pretty easy to ramp up on, with lots of features, more than we need. The "Mission Control" dashboard has your top stats nicely visualized in graphs and customizable parameter blocks that you can add yourself. I'm able to keep track of donations with notifications as well. Their account managers are available to help train as well as troubleshoot and find solutions. They also will take notes on your feature requests, which I appreciate. Cons Some feature workarounds can be clunky; like surveying members, which is possible but integrating form data back into individual records is very problematic when it should be automatic. Donation pages are generated through GE without our domain name, just a generic GE domain. Email services are limited to Mailchimp and Sparkpost, and both need an extra fee. The interface has lots of tabs on the left panel, making it hard to read. The mobile version is just for tickets and point of sale, not viewing records or other functions. I feel like we are still learning everything that Give Effect can do for us! Give Effect has allowed our office to have a working CRM that we can use throughout the staff. It's easy to update and we longer have to ask each other for contact information! Pros I love the ease of the CRM and also the email campaigns. Being able to have up-to-date contacts and donor information has been amazing for our small office. We have recently subscribed to the text messaging component and are enjoying that as well. Cons I wish you can have more variety in designing an email. Also, it would be great to be able to have different fonts and sizes within a paragraph. The platform is easy to use, and is great for centralizing contacts. Cons Giveffect can feel unwieldy at times. To create campaigns with email reminders, or to update hours, giving, etc. for contacts, it can sometimes feel like you are clicking through a lot of pages. There are also a few features that would be nice to have, such as the option to make campaigns recurring.
