It helps to keep our inventory in order, ensuring we don't run out. Pros Zoho's inventory was simple to set up. I easily imported my existing inventory items from QuickBooks in minutes. Once that was done, I could enter my new orders easily. Cons When adding pictures, if one needs to be rotated, I would need to edit it locally to correct the image, then re-upload it. This seems clunky given the technology available today. It's not ideal, especially when it comes to some bugs and irrelevant features for HR, but it has made inventory management easier for us. Security features are a good thing for me to feel good about and I think that it's great value for the price. Nothing is perfect, but it works for us. Pros As a small HR-led business, Zoho Inventory has proved to be a reliable tool for tracking the office supplies and equipment, particularly for running a business efficiently. The reporting feature is very extensive and customisable enough to identify trends and it also seamlessly connects to other ZOHO applications we have already implemented. The control it gives for order processing is also appreciated. It has helped us not to order too much; it has decreased our wastage in general. Cons The learning curve was a bit more than I thought, particularly as inventory isn't the main part of our business. I had to play around a bit to get it set up the way that we wanted. There are times when bulk uploads can have some glitches, and sometimes the shipping module appears to be more geared for physical goods businesses, which requires us to bypass certain features that aren't necessary to our business. Pros Zoho is really easy to use and affordable, especially for a small business. I like that it creates your own invoices that you can send to customers. I like that you can keep track of multiple warehouses on one page. These are small features that make Zoho really great. Cons The software is easy to use but still has some features that I would love to see changed. We run a small eBay business and there is often difficulty in merging products. I cannot go back and fix this later on. Sometimes this will make the inventory numbers look different than what they are. This is also part of a human error, but I wish there was a feature on Zoho that would help me reconcile inventory when I make a mistake with merging products. Customer service is great, and helpful. Pros If you have ever used Mass 500 or similar systems, this will be a breeze to use. I do find that for my use the customization is a bit difficult, but for the most part, its able to do everything I need to run business day to day. Has multi user control, has new history tracking, last purchase price, inventory inquiry, and even has support for business in SQFT, LFT. I am happy that i got to find this before i went other routes. The cost was also much lower than any other system I had tested. Cons Being a web based CRM, the customization is a bit less than I would have liked. Especially how the documents look, or ease of finding profit margin by the invoice, or item level, but i hope someone at ZOHO is looking into this. January 23, 2021 1.0 Impossible to contact the dev team, even by email, which would have saved me two years of lost development time on my end. There is not even an effective communication channel between Customer Support and their own development team. It's one of those "I.T. doesn't talk to inferior beings" outfits. You know the type. Low integrity: If you make a mistake and misguide a paying customer, accept responsibility and issue a refund. It's the very least they could have done. Pros On paper, Zoho had all the flexibility and scalability we were looking for, but it turns out that it is incompatible with a Shopify store that has more than a few months of data. It won't import the data. This is not a misunderstanding and there is no workaround. Details below. Cons We bought it to be our CRM and Inventory Management System for our Shopify office furniture store. On installation, it would only import the last two months of transactions from Shopify. That's a disaster. For all of our regular customers, they'd have two accounts and we'd have to look in both places to find a past order, not to mention re-creating all of their account data by hand in the new system if they hadn't purchased in the last two months, and we'd have no idea what their lifetime value was. Zoho support was sure I had done something wrong. It took weeks for them to decide that Shopify was the problem. They told me Shopify was blocking the export of the data. So I called Shopify. They told me (in an hour) that they have an automatic block to prevent hacking but all Zoho had to do was to call them and they'd unblock them! Over a period of weeks, I tried to get to the right department to tell the install team or dev team about this, and no one seemed to know what I was talking about. They kept insisting it was a Shopify problem. A support rep got back to me a few months later and said the limitation had actually been built into Zoho and it would be fixed in the next version update. So, foolishly, I kept paying. I kept checking in and finally, two years later, they told they have no plans to fix this problem, and no, I couldn't have a refund even though I was waiting for them to fix what they told me they would fix, and had never used the product. Reason for choosing Zoho Inventory Low entry price and scalability, with robust feature set, but never used it because it just can't work with an existing Shopify store that has more than a few months of history to import. February 17, 2022 4.0 The customer service is fairly decent ... they are hard to connect with sometimes being that they are all based in India and I'm in North America. Pros I like the detailed invoices, the ability to run all sorts of reports and the capability of doing invoicing/inventory etc all in one program. Cons Ok .. here is the biggest con for this product. It doesn't automatically synch with woocommerce. I had to buy an additional 2 synch connectors to use this with my online store. you would think in this day and age that it would automatically synch, but I have to implement Kloud connector to link woo commerce to Zoho and a second one to synch it back ... at a cost of an additional $30 USD per connector per month. Gets to be costly. Reason for choosing Zoho Inventory I hadn't done enough research and basically chose it based on the comparison lists of features. Pros 1- Its best for the Trading business. 2- The best thing is the ease of use. you don't have to be an accountant or a professional inventory manager to understand this software. 3- It is real-time. You don't have to wait for a department or server to process the command so that the information gets reflected. 4- Any prior period adjustment of cost or quantity, automatically adjust the costing and all the other accounts. 5- The best feature of Zoho is availability of customer service 24/7 6- For bulk data, you don't have to key in one by one. You just have to arrange the whole data in a specific format and upload it. 7- Composite items is the Bill of Material, which is gives you the option of calculating variances. 8- If you want to add an extra material, other than what is defined in the standard formula, you can do that. 9- The warehouse option helps you to keep track of inventory in each warehouse. While invoicing your customer, you can select the specific warehouse. 10- It is very well integrated with the ZOHO Books. 11- The Taxes can also be handled easily through Inventory module Cons 1- For large organizations where multiple levels of warehouses exist and they require different approvals before issuance and receiving of materials or products, ZOHO inventory doesn't seems to provide that functionality. 2- You cannot print delivery notes on ZOHO Inventory, for that you have to go to ZOHO Books. 3- If you want to receive a product on multiple purchase orders together, you cannot. You have to receive the product of one purchase order at a time. 4- You can specify a purchase or sales price of a product but you cannot specify that as per the supplier of customer. It also connects to Paypal, which makes our money transactions easier to handle, limiting our stress. Using this software, we were able to keep a very accurate inventory while selling across multiple online platforms. It is worth the cost because this helps prevent any inventory shortages and lost orders because of a lack of inventory Cons The original setup was a very lengthy, which there were multiple confusing parts. There could also be a few more reports that come standard, we needed to make multiple custom reports, which also took lots of time and man power.
