The customer support has been TOP-SHELF! Even the interface design of how you request support is perfect. Pros Sometimes sites are purposely designed to preclude you from extracting large amounts of data efficiently. WebHarvy gets around that and makes it easy. Cons Some larger extractions take a long time to accomplish. This has much to do with how the data is stored and the speed of your internet connection I'm sure. But, it's an automated process so you can set it and forget it. The software has improved significantly over the period and works almost flawlessly, for otherwise a relatively complicated task i.e. web-scrapping. Also, the team is super responsive and supportive, which ensures that one is not stuck. Pros WebHarvey is the best data scraping tool out there and has many pros: 1. Capturing fields from the website are relatively easy. 2. The new edition (Version 6), works very fast and is fast. 3. The software is cheap, comes with a lifetime validity (unlike others which charge monthly), and allows for unlimited data download. 4. The support team is responsive and knowledgeable, if one is not able to scrape a website, they immediately post a video. 5. Ample tutorials (both brief and advanced ones) on the website (www.webharvey.com) and tutorial videos on YouTube makes usage hassle-free. 6. Cheap, Cheap & Super Cheap: The biggest pros of webharvey is that comes with advanced web-scraping features and is one of the cheaptest software for scraping. Cons The only cons I have faced at times is that the software enters the next cell value when a particular data field on the website is empty. However, this happens rearelly. Pros The interface is very user friendly and has all the features we need. We had been using a different scraping platform and ran into limitations that WebHarvy had no problems with. The tech support team helped us with some complex scrape jobs and made the transition very easy. Cons I'm not an expert with javascript. If I was, it would be much easier to format my data the way I need it, but WebHarvy is certainly capable of what I need. I'm sure I'll be able to do whatever I need through the large selection of trianing videos and the support department. Pros I tried a couple of other similar software, WebHarvey is a great product, I ask for help on a regular basis, they always have answers to my problems, I try to get help for other software that I use but no where near as good as the help WebHarvy provide. I love the way they make a short video on the steps/process, It makes it very easy to use. they help with which Regex code to use to extract certain text. Cons I can't think of anything really off the top of my head, If I could It would only be a minor issue. I've always been more than satisfied with the results. It's also very flexible in terms of how it can be applied to different data scenarios. Pros The best part of being a WebHarvy user is the consistent level of detailed and relevant support I receive about using the product. The technical aspects of the tool can be challenging if you aren't well versed in tech language, but the support is timely, clear, straightforward and really makes all the difference in the world. We have to congratulate WebHarv Support for their extremely fast response to issues we have encountered which is easily the best service we've ever had from any software supplier. Pros Very easy to use and provides great capabilities that more than met our needs. Cons We were able to set up reasonably complex data mining but some areas seem to be quite complex - this is not a negative comment about WebHarvy but lack of expertise on our part. We would be highly supportive should WebHarvy provide an online Consultancy service (possibly first 15 minutes free upon purchase and then charged in say 15 minute periods) to ensure we utilise the full capabilities of WebHarvy. We were able to use this data for multiple analyses and plan to capture more periodically. Pros WebHarvy has been a fantastic utility for our projects that require compiling data via web-scraping. I do not have a background in code-writing, nor have I used any other software that served a data-mining purpose but WebHarvy was very user-friendly (If you go through the tutorials). When I ran into an issue pertaining to the site I was scraping, one quick email to the customer rep, a WebHarvy Support Engineer, resulted in step-by-step instructions and a how-to video being posted on their youtube channel specifically catered to my work needs. I can't say enough good things about WebHarvy Support. My direct supervisor recently attended a conference and recommended WebHarvy to four other jurisdictions to assist them with their regulatory needs. Cons My only suggestion would be to possibly include a "Text to Columns" conversion tool for post-.csv extraction. Time spent on this project definitely bottle-necked around when cleaning up the .csv document. Otherwise, I would have just given up as I did with some other scrappers (WebHarvy was probably the 5th one I tried). Pros The free trial is very beneficial in understanding the capabilities of the software. The customer support was amazing - answered quickly and in-depth. Cons some functionalities are not so intuitive, I tried to do recursive scrapping where I need to scrape some information from within a product in Etsy, and to do that I need to go into each product page via the link on the main page. It was a struggle understanding how to do that, also after looking at a few youtube videos. Only after asking the support team, I managed to succeed, and there was no way I could do that using only youtube explainers videos.
