It has been a very tedious transition and the majority of our office is continuing to use the old system while we still have it, because of the lack of support from Realm in integrating the new system. Pros It is cleaner than the traditional ACS desktop application. Cons The customer support is lacking. It would take days to receive feedback in the old ACS system. In the new ACS system, response time is quicker, but responses are links to guides on their website. There is no personal phone calls or instructions. Our staff has had multiple time consuming meetings trying to figure out this new system on our own. The old system had more capabilities as well. Review Source MR Marcia R. I love that i can do most everything i need in one program. I especially like the online giving. We've only been using Realm @6 months, so we are still learning everything we can use it for. Pros I like the portability of Realm, being able to access it online or on my phone. Cons Some of the reports I need to run don't allow me to customize them as well as I need. For example, I can choose "all" or "individual" funds when creating a Giving report. I need to be able to choose several funds when running a report for my Missions Summary each month. So I have to go in and choose "all" and then subtract the funds I don't want to include. November 19, 2019 5.0 We are doing much less duplicate work, Pros We were using so many different products to do our daily tasks. None of which spoke to the other. Now we have all of our work in one place and we can see the big picture. Cons Not be able to choose what label you will be printing to or the ability to print on envelopes. Electronic giving is up substantially since we brought Realm into the congregation. Cons The program is still being built out, though this is also a plus. January 31, 2018 4.0 Pros It saves me so much time, and it is generally easy to use. With the exception of one person (female) who didn't seem to want to be working the help line and told me to do something very complicated that I knew was not correct, everyone has been very helpful. Cons 1)There are no written directions that I can access for things I haven't done in a while. For example - the yearly statements I generate for taxes. I only do those in January. 2) I also would like to be able to remove names from the general list when a person dies or moves away. From what I've been told, there is no way to do this. I query down to exactly what I need to help my pastors focus on various paths for teaching or other things. Cons The accounting platform especially for multi campus is not where we need it to be. We have many different groups that look at it from a finance team to the ministry coordinator. Each one needs to see a different level of financial information. This is not currently available. Pros Realm helps us keep track of people and their offerings in an accurate manner. I use it for entering offerings and printing annual contribution reports. I also especially like the customer support that comes with the software: always helpful and gracious. Cons If there is anything I don't like about the software, it's that there is more software than we need. It's set up for some kind of megachurch with child care check-ins, group management, etc, and those are not functions we use. Review Source CK Cheryl K. Their customer service is excellent. Pros The dashboard and pathways functions. Dashboard allows me to see statistics at a quick glance. Lead Pastor Religious Institutions Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "A Great, Well-rounded ChMS" December 22, 2016 5.0 The great thing about Realm is that it has everything we need to run our church in a holistic way. It let's us handle our group communication, personal profiles, giving records, reporting, and accounting all in one place. Also, it has a great discipleship tool called Pathways that helps us walk people through any process we create. We can assign different Steps along one of any of the custom Pathways we create, making sure no one slips through the cracks. It has really helped our assimilation, spiritual formation, and leadership development processes. Communication has been greatly improved and we now have a handle on all our operations. Pros easy to use, intuitive, comprehensive. Cons a few features are a little difficult to find or setup, but their customer support is very helpful in those cases. Review Source GB Glenda B. Easy to put in congregation names. Love using the giving as well as attendance. Cons Sometimes it is hard to know how to set up somewhere when you need to get a report. Pros I love the ability to track church members and groups in which each member is a participant. Knowing where each person fits into the life of our church is essential for church growth and health. Cons There are limitations to this software where other options are better. Check-ins, groups, and giving are great, but each of these features are more user friendly on other softwares. We are identifying people that were falling between the cracks and starting to implement procedures to help stop it from happening. Pros We love the profiles and the way that there is a holistic approach to collecting data and using it for practical ministry. Cons We have run into issues with our check-in and marking attendance. This program is much better than ones used in the past. No information is lost, updates are regularly scheduled, and I couldn't be happier about the reporting function. Cons The only con, I would like to be able to search for a specific check #, this additional option would save me a lot of time and frustration. For example, on Firefox it only supports the current and second most recent releases. If one has an older version of a browser that can't use the system. I have a member of my church who doesn't own a computer but uses one at work. Her work system is "locked down" so she cannot update her browser. The value of Realm is when everyone in the church uses it, because of this restriction our utility is severely compromised. I can't recommend Realm. Review Source LC Linda C. I like that it's the same as ACS, which I've used since 1998. Cons My one dislike about Realm is that deposits can't be made to expense accounts on the Chart of Accounts, which I was able to do in OnDemand Accounting. Review Source BN Brady N. Ease of connecting to attendees. Pros Realm is incredibly easy to use, but provides a very detailed look at the information collected from church members. It provides a system for connection to each attendee, and allows you to track what step an attendee may be on within those processes. Cons Realm is a very new technology. While it is far more user friendly than its predecessor, there are certain functions that are not yet up and running. The tech support team is quick to listen to advice and solve issues, but there are certain functions that other programs have, that realm does not have YET.
