### "Need a support line"

For the most part, this is a sound system. There is room to make improvements, but I'm not sure we can wait for the improvements we need.

Pros

the ease of updating and creating positions

Cons

There is no support line to call. Sending a ticket and not knowing if it has been reviewed or what its status is. There is no place on the admin page to see your support ticket. There is no confirmation email with a ticket number. There is just the chat that says a ticket has been created. I am not a fan.

Instead of filtering you through multiple tiers of support, we want clients to call our main line (316-927-2668) and reach a seasoned consultant immediately who knows the product inside and out and can solve the problem right then and there. On the ticket side, you’re absolutely right that we could improve communication. We’ve focused on providing a same-day response and resolving tickets within 48 hours (which has worked well for most clients with a 98% satisfaction rate), but adding a confirmation email with a ticket number is an easy fix — we’ll make that happen. We're also looking into adding a way to view your previous tickets and their status from within the app. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and this kind of insight really helps us fine-tune the experience.

The best thing about BalancedComp is the support! Every experience I've had with their team has been positive and productive. They offer ongoing training, which is so helpful when it's time to develop an annual compensation budget. I 100% recommend them if you in the market for a compensation vendor.

Pros

We moved from a compensation competitor to BalancedComp a few years ago. BalancedComp's user interface is superior in all ways. The website is easy to navigate and customize. The compensation range recommendations are more aligned with our markets and the reports are easy to understand.

Cons

I haven't found anything yet. They are very responsive to client suggestions and one or two of my ideas have shown up during product updates.

I can't say enough about Balanced Comp and their awesome Team. Kudos to the Developers for creating such a great tool.

Pros

The system is so user friendly. The Balanced Comp Team are amazing to work with. They are very knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. The tool has everything you could think of to ease the compensation experience.

Cons

Can't think of any cons except that I wish I had known about them sooner. It would have saved a lot of time and energy.

We have been using it for 7 years now and I don't think we would even think of switching vendors as we are extremely satisfied with this product.

Pros

The ease of use. It is a very simple system to administer and is also extremely easy for the end user. The system just makes sense, and the support team is fantastic! We also love the holiday themes and funny little sayings. It's the little things in life!

Cons

We wish you could have multiple types of plans for employees at the same time. For example, have a 90 day review for a new hire set up at the same time as the annual review (which we make available to start making comments in March).

The system is very user friendly. Having an import is also one of the many pros. All of the staff at BalancedComp is very friendly and great to work with.

It's hard to think of any cons. I would say none.

Like any software- as a user you have to stay up to date on the changes/upgrades that occur. But it was manageable.

Wonderful!!!! Wish we had done is sooner

Pros

EVERYTHINK. We kknow are employees are be paid to market, we can easly budget for salaries, job descriptions and job rating is a breeze. The use of this product free us numerous staff hours. our Representative has been with us all the way and from day one!!! Thanks \[sensitive content hidden\]

I have not seen any draw back from this product. It does take some time to load your information into the system however our representative did a lot of this for us

Overall, BalancedComp is a user friendly platform, with a great set up and convenient resources for HR. It makes keeping track of performance plans easy, and effective, as well as mapping out increases and competitive pay for year end.

Pros

I appreciate the templates and resources available to the admin users. The platform is easy to use, and easy to understand. I feel that it works well to store information and provide an effective performance plan for your employees.

Cons

I would prefer to have the admin view in both BalancedComp and BalancedResults when I log in, as I more often use it for admin purposes that my own performance tracking. I personally feel a default scale of 1-5 would be better suited for most companies, as the threshold between meets and exceeds can be hard to determine at times.

It has been wonderful. When we need clarification there is always someone willing to jump on a call and walk us through it.

Pros

I love that Balanced Comp takes the current market into account when we create our annual budget. It helps us make sure we are maintaining competitive pay rates.

Cons

We would like to be able to do our 90-day reviews through Balanced Comp, but we would have to create two roles for each position in order to do so since our objectives are different in the first 90 days.

The BalancedComp team is professional, thorough, and very timely. I can always count on a grading request for a new position to be handled promptly, and the team is always happy to answer any questions I might have about compensable factors.

Pros

The ability to select differ locations ("branches") to ensure we're making equitable and competitive offers to remote candidates is huge. BalancedComp delivers outsized value.

Cons

I wonder if the loading screens would go faster without all of the silly puns and jokes (but those are charming as well). I truly struggle to come up with a valid complaint.

### "A True Partner"

Pros

Using BalancedComp gives me the strength of 10 people. If I were to replicate the same process and results, I would be spending hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars. BalancedComp brings in a variety of salary sources, levels them, and presents the information in a very usable fashion. Additionally, the software gives us a default compensation philosophy we can use to springboard in developing our own. This was particularly helpful when we first started taking a deeper dive into compensation restructuring. Lastly, the support I get from BalancedComp is superb. They can't always provide me with a solution at no additional cost, but they listen to me needs and work really hard to find a way to help me. I always feel helped and to sold to.

Cons

As a data guy, I like to splice and dice the information to glean insights on the results of implementing our compensation strategy. I care that we are paying at market and on schedule based on experience in the position. I really heavily on the reports BalancedComp provides. However, there are some views that I want that the system can't generate. So I end up manually entering the data in Excel in order to produce the reports I want. Because I'm only one of a handful of clients that asks for these special reports, BalancedComp just can't justify investing their development into providing these reports.

### "Worst system & support I've ever experienced"

It was one if the worst companies I've worked with. The lack of ability to provide specific feedback in each section of the review to the drafter, makes the process time consuming and inefficient. Instead of spending time making cute comments that pop up when you exit or submit a review, for example, maybe spend that time making the software functional and user friendly. After we made the mistake of contracting with them, I discovered others in HR at other organizations had difficulty with Balanced Comp and decided to go another direction. Luckily they discovered their incompetence before signing on the dotted line!

Pros

We we're excited about automating the performance review process.

Cons

The restricted nature of the software. Ex. Must have specific number of approvers assigned to a review, no matter the level the employee is at in the organization. And stop calling performance reviews, "plans". It makes no sense and just shows how out of touch Balanced Comp is.

I am dismayed at your response and must suspect you are a competitor who is writing very nasty things. You can see what 99.9% of our clients have said about us. But if you are sincere, I hope you will give me the opportunity to address each and every one of your points of contention. For example, it isn't true that you need a specific number of approvers. Our clients love us. We have a 95% retention rate over our nearly 9 years of business.

BalanceComp has been a great company to work with. Their products have really helped HR look well prepared when asked by our CEO and CFO for reports/budgets.

Pros

It is a very easy product to use - from inputting your employees to sorting to seeing where the fall in their labor grade (comp ratio). Reports that would take hours to do if you were trying to do it manually to do are generated in seconds. There are lots of templates/samples so you don't have to start from scratch. Love that is is specific to the credit union world. Their customer service is great and they are open to listening to suggestions if you have any way to improve their product.

Cons

For the most part there really isn't anything that I don't like about their products (Balanced Comp and Balanced Results)

Excellent.

Pros

The system is easy to navigate and user friendly.The Customer support is great. If you need assistance with any aspect of compensation, such as grading positions, market conditions for a specific position, or compensation trends, they will get you the information you need. The database of benchmark positions is also helpful, and their reports are one click and easy to use.

Cons

There is no report writer tool; therefore, you must use the reports that are in the system. Also when scrolling down, column headings disappear, and you lose sight of the content ‘title’ to know what number you are reviewing (such as rate, range mid-point of the range, etc.) It would be helpful to have column headers frozen on employee lists.

They are unmatched in customer service. I used Balanced Comp with my prior employer and very readily contracted with them again when I changed to a new employer who didn't have an automated salary program in place.

Pros

This software provides a strong salary administration system that is easy to use, defensible, easy to explain internally, and has improved our overall processes related to salary administration tremendously.

Cons

I'm stumped on what to say for a con. The only con I can say is the inability to search for a person or title without first bringing up or returning to the complete listing of persons or titles.

Compensation management at my fingertips with the information I need to manager our company's compensation. Electronic performance review program that takes a lot of the labor associated with writing reviews so my employees can get back to business!

Pros

It is intuitive, recently they updated the look and feel and I was able to navigate it with little to no instruction. It's clean looking and it feels like the developers really thought of the user rather than standard design, it makes sense to users on all levels!

Cons

I honestly can't think of one, it's one of the easiest platforms I use in my day to day! I get the same feedback from my managers which makes my life easier that I'm not teaching the mechanics of writing performance reviews and can focus more on the spirit of them!
