I tried it out and I am hooked. I have since recommended it to several people. I love the central and visual location for all my most used links and documents that I can organize and even make it visually pleasing. I am ADHD so being able to have everything that I need for work right there in a distraction-free dashboard is wonderful. Pros I was able to upload my bookmarks right away. There are so many options for organization. I love the background options. I am able to use separate pages for my personal bookmarks and links and one for my work links. It helps me cut down on distractions. There are extra widgets like a calculator, clock, and weather that are incredibly helpful. Cons I wish there was a little more flexibility in the placement of the widgets, instead of just equal-sized columns. I changed the layouts several times based on what I was using most. But after everything got set up, Start.me is now very easy to use. I simply save bookmarks (mostly online accounts) that I know I’ll need to access multiple times. Pros I stumbled upon Start.me while searching for a better way to manage in access bookmarks. While I have dozens of bookmarked folders in my Safari web browser, I have a hard time quickly saving and finding those bookmarks. What appealed to me most about Start.me is the visual presentation of my saved bookmarks into various categories. I find easier to locate saved bookmarks in Start.me because I see both the title and the favicon for those saved pages. The bookmarks are visually displayed in pages and widgets of your Start.me account. The online application provides several different ways to sort and display bookmarks, and it allows you to copy to other pages and widgets to other widgets and pages. It’s neat how Start.me allows for customizing the design, number of columns, and colors of pages in your account, and links to your pages can be shared on the net. Start.me is also handy for quickly typing notes, to-do lists, and cheatsheets that the might otherwise get misplaced or difficult to find in a notebook app. It’s also great that I can access Start.me from within any web browser on any of my devices. Cons There’s no dedicated Safari extension for Start.me like there is for Google and Firefox. Instead, you have to use a bookmarklet that opens into another tab, and from there you can save a bookmark. I appreciate that they provide bookmarklet, but it would be easier and faster to save bookmarks using a Safari extension. Pros Start.me allowed me to store all my bookmarks, notes, categorized to-do lists, weekly planners and RSS feed in one convenient package that is with me all the time. The simplicity of design as well as wide range of customization allowed me to have my browser remind me to stay on track every time I open a new tab. All my research, references, links and other data are with me and backed up - stored neatly in their own tab, free of clutter and distraction. Cons The initial start of the browser may take a small impact when using the start.me addon, although the difference is barely noticeable on newer computers. I can group bookmarks by clients so that I have everything I would need for any given client all in one place. It's a nice visual alternative to bookmarks. Pros I have two pages set up, one for personal and one for business. Each page contains bookmarks to frequently used websites. You can rearrange and adjust where things are on the page. They also offer some widgets for that link to your calendar, show weather, news feeds and more. Cons The RSS news feed shows only basic, short headlines - it does not give me enough to encourage me to click anywhere further. There are different content areas - pages, widgets and items within the widgets. It can be a little confusing on finding how to adjust settings for each of these items.
