It's so easy to use, flexible enough for virtually any use case, visually fun, and always being updated. Great communication from the company. Highly recommend! Pros Airtable is very user friendly and easy to get started with. You can make it as simple or as complex as you want for your use case. I love that I can enter my projects and tasks in a spreadsheet view, which is where I am most comfortable, but then easily share and manage in other more visual views. Cons The downside of the amount of flexibility you get with Airtable is that sometimes, that adds complexity. When I was using Airtable to collaborate with a team on project management, we found task management to be more challenging, mainly because there wasn't out-of-the-box functionality for that like you would find in Asana or a similar app. Reason for choosing Airtable Affordability, ability to use a lot of the functionality for free until ready to buy, and flexibility. Pros The visual element of this software really sets itself apart from others. This was an easy transition coming from an entertainment background where most everything was done on note cards. Here's a brief list of the good: - There are multiple views catering to organizational preferences of whichever user is utilizing the software. - Alerts are set up easily and can be automated to limit the amount personal email communication needed. Meaning that when a cell is altered a member of the team can get an instant notification. - Data management is a breeze, attaching files to the Airtable sheet is as simple as drag and drop and allows for multiple people to edit the same documents. -Labels and color coordination help to add order to projects with lots of moving parts. The bottom line is that this software is near-perfect for a team to work collaboratively on a common goal and limits the amount of needless communication that usually drains a companies productivity. Cons Permissions could be a little cleaner when working in a dual authentication paradigm. The learning curve is pretty steep, rightly so, in that this is a very versatile software with lots of bells and whistles and it would behoove the user to watch some of the Airtable produced learning content. Pros This software can be used for almost anything. Startups will find this software extremely valuable if they can get over the steep learning curve and get all team members on board. Cons Although it is incredibly customizable, that customization means that there is a steep learning curve. If I didn't have Airtable, I feel like I'd be stuck using Excel and I'd be frustrated with the lack of organization. It's the perfect tool for my job, and for all people who need to focus on the details in the planning and project management process! Pros I was trying to accomplish something Microsoft Excel just didn't do. Enter Airtable, where all my problems were solved! Airtable helps you organize information in layers, with different options for sorting. You can view information in a calendar view or in an organized table with different filters. I find Airtable a really great software for a variety of things: content or social media calendars, campaign or event planning, project management, personal to-do lists, etc. I have only ever used Airtable as a personal tool or in small groups, but I know that it's a good tool for team collaboration as well. With all the layers, filters and color-coding options, it's a perfect tool to stay hyper-organized and track where everything is. Cons Airtable is not a software you can hop in and start using quickly. I needed to really play with all the features and figure out what everything did before I made any progress on making this system work for me. You really need to explore and use Airtable's learning features to get a handle on how to make it work best for you. Pros As someone who works on project management and planning almost daily I really like Airtable - the amount of powerful and detailed templates you are able to choose from when wanting to streamline your projects is phenomenal. There is almost a template for every need you could have. I also really love how customizable each template then is and the level of detail and information you are able to see on one place. Cons The only real con I have is one I always have when it comes to data heavy software and that’s the level of input required and constant maintenance on documents - if you’re not working in the documents constantly they will not be up to date and then you have data that’s not correct. There are a handful of departments at our company who use Airtable daily (like planning, HR, marketing, creative services, etc.) and we've been able to really level up our marketing planning. Now, we just wait for them to catch up to mid-sized companies like ours who have nimble and smaller teams but execute at a big business level. Pros We've been using Airtable since it's early release years and it has solved a number of our problems in our Marketing team. We are now able to easily plan, execute, and share our strategies with members outside of our team. The software is completely customizable and allows the user(s) to create something that's specific to their needs either from the ground up or from a multitude of templates. It's an intensely robust and versatile program. Cons The areas where I am most frustrated with Airtable are in regards to it being almost entirely self-service. There are so many blogs, tutorials, etc. but when you've built something from the ground up like we have and our team is on the smaller side (under 20 users), there's no current offering that allows us to get one-on-one support with Airtable either in a base audit format, assisting us in setting up complicated bases where automations/etc. might be helpful but we're not aware on how to set them up or utilize them, etc. It's all centered around how proactive and smart the administrator of the base is and that's hard to accommodate. I wish they'd offer a mid-tier pricing option for dedicated customer support. Pros Project management tasks, checklists, and document management are all included in Airtable, the only solution I've found that does all of this with tables. Customization and integration with Airtable are a breeze. With Airtable's flexibility to organize projects and activities in a variety of ways, we can focus on what we do best. It's visually appealing, and it presents updates in a logical order, so it's ideal for me. I organize my lists and folders using spaces, folders, and lists. There are so many possibilities. Cons There are sometimes server slowdowns and some errors that are not at all effective. Despite this, customer service representatives have always been kind and quick to answer. If it costs money, so be it. However, the invoicing has to be improved. The terminology as it relates to the platform structure needs to make it obvious when you are using free features, and when you are using paid features. Pros I love everything about the functions of Airtable. I can make it do anything I want it to. I use it for cashflow management, for evaluating progress in my strategic planning, for cataloguing my archives. The logic and flow are very intuitive. I have also submitted improvements, and been able to see some of them implemented. I am a one-man organization, so I need as much efficiency as possible. Airtable allows you to design databases, automations, and presentation Cons Invoices and billing are nightmares because of the app's terminology. When it comes to Invoices, I will go months without paying anything, then I have a month with an invoice of 89.51$. And when you try to understand why, you have to decipher 10 lines of language like : "Remaining time on 2 × Plus Plan Qty 2 at the cost of $179.03", then "Unused time on Plus Plan after 18 Jun 2023 Qty 1 -$89.51". Then I go through my dashboard, and I have to figure out the difference between Workspaces, Interfaces, Bases. If you create the wrong thing in the wrong place, you get charged. It is the best project and task management tool I have ever encountered- and fairly cheap as well compared to similar tools. Pros Everyone on my team for my two company LOVE this software. It is like a supercharged Excel meets Agile Tools- you can organise pretty much anything with it. We recommend it to everyone we meet, and are happy we found Airtable in 2019. You can attach pictures to it, view it in grid kanban or calendar view- which really is like any project management tool meets the best of agile tools. It makes organising, task allocation and collaboration super easy. Cons The only problem is that if you have a base with pictures in Airtable, and want to export it, you loose the pictures. But that is not their problem as such.
