An example is a company selling body products can shoo employees by sending communication on Airtables on how to merchandise their products. With airtables you can have automations for communication quicker. You can easily business inventories. Cons Since is is a new software, navigating around it, can be difficult. Pros We use airtable for products descriptions and what I really like is the pop feature where you don't need to scroll down to get to next item you want to check because of the long description the first product has. Pros This is a great tool to keep track of any kinds of logs, even accounting if you would, the greatest part of it is how easy it is to use and how you can do multi-platform integrations to make it your database master software. I love the low price-point and the amazing customer service they have, by far one f the most powerful low-cost database/spreadsheet tool out there. Cons Not really a con, but I would like to point out for those who use a lot of formula-based fields, the coding/formula platform on Airtable is not really the best, it is a little clunky and you really cannot get as much out of it as in some cases you would expect, but it is reasonably good nonetheless. Once everything is set up, it's easy to stay organized, keep track of projects, and communicate with the rest of the team. Pros It's very easy to keep track of my projects and communicate with other stakeholders all within the same platform. There's a lot of helpful customization you can do within project cards. For example, we put opportunity briefs within the project card rather than having to link to an external Google doc. In other words, you can put everything you need in the same place. Cons I remember being very confused at the beginning with AirTable. It operates sort of like an Excel Spreadsheet and all those codes and formulas certainly overwhelm. Thankfully I had a Project Manager set everything up. Without her, it would have been a headache to set everything up from scratch. Also, the mobile app isn't great. It's one Gumby of a tool - able to bend to my will and limited (mostly) only by my imagination. It's hard to understand the power of relational databases until you've used one. Think of it as multiple Excel Spreadsheets that can talk to each other. The problem in the past has been how HARD it is to build and maintain a relational database. I've likely lost a month of my life to Microsoft Access frustrations. Airtable is just SO much easier and more enjoyable to use. It's not just a better database tool for database users. It's a database that can be used by someone who never thought she'd use a database. Pros I've organized a lot of stuff on Airtable and it's a joy to use. The software has a 'wow' factor that's some magic combination of great design and powerful tech. Once I tried Airtable I started thinking "hey - maybe I could make a database for THIS too!". I was actually having FUN making databases. How is that possible? Cons At some point, I'll reach my limit of 1000 records on the free Airtable plan. I don't look forward to that day. There are many cool integrations and blocks that exist on Airtable's paid tiers, but there are only so many subscriptions one man can afford. It came prancing into my life like a dream. Rainbows and all. It is colorful, simple, sleek, customization, free, and a software you could only dream of existing. It is more than the mythical unicorn, it is the Cadillac unicorn that you pimped out with exactly what you want; no BS. Pros Free, free, freeeeeeeeeeee In the world of subscription based EVERYTHING it is nice to have a software I can utilize free of charge! There is a LOT MORE to it if you pay the incredibly low monthly fee, but it is a highly valuable software without it! Let me put it this way, it is simple enough that ANYBODY can use it. I set up the bases (super easy) and my other family members fill them in. We are a small family business, so the ease of use, and cost effectiveness are crucial. It is so customizeable it is ridiculous. It will not replace Excel by any means, but is a strong force in our arsenal of programs that is for sure. Cons Absolutely nothing! While it's not cheap, we definitely see the value in Airtable. While Google Sheets is useful, it simply does not match the tools provided by Airtable—from blocks, to conditionals, to the customizability of the interface. This one tool provides unlimited possibilities and enables our team to efficiently carry out asks without having to use a dozen different tools. Cons Airtable's free plans are understandably restrictive, but provide all the basic tools. While we were using the free plan, I disliked how many of their own templates required paid plans to use certain features. Switched from [Google Sheets](https://www.capterra.com/p/169718/Google-Sheets/) Google Sheets provides many similar features, but the user interface of airtable is simply unmatched and its extra features are the cherry on top. The number of integrations on Airtable also better suits our needs compared to Google sheets. It works really well when you are working on multiple client workspaces simultaneously. You can have live links in your templates which makes it easier to work on the same thing together as a group. You can easily choose different combinations of components for different needs such as for asset management or for mapping out social media posts. The makes Airtable a very good choice to create a flexible database. Different people on the same team can choose to read the same data in their own preferred view. Cons The user interface is very well designed but you will need a bit of a learning curve over time to get hold of all the various features of Airtable to make the best use of it. A lot of desktop features like sorting do not work as well on mobile as on desktop. It's more. I have managed to clone my ERP and CRM that were much more expensive and with fewer options. Now I control the data without the need to know code. It also has multiple integrations with other software. Pros What I like the most compared to other options. It's just that it's very stable. As well as a pioneer. There are cheaper options but this is the most solid. And this matters a lot if you need it as a company. Cons Against. The license system. Small companies have collaborators who enter little. But since it is a monthly payment and there is no intermediate step between employee and client, it makes us discard it for other projects. It is not a problem of the company, but of the Saas sector in general. But the document and list sharing on a mobile platform is beautiful! Cons Again, I can’t really say anything negative because what I’ve seen is great. But it’s just not necessary for my team. My team mainly uses it for campaign/ marketing management -- documenting our editorial calendar for the year. But after leadership saw how successfully we made use of the product, they brought it on for all teams to use in myriad ways: virtual event management, meeting agendas, yearly task audits, etc, etc. It's incredibly easy to use, intuitive, and flexible. Could not recommend more. Cons There are additional flexibilities that would make life easier: the ability to connect bases and tables, the ability for content to automatically update across connected sheets, a better way to assign tasks across team members. The fields that housed the tags were customized and easy to use and certain parts were color-coded which kept things livelier than a typical spreadsheet. Also if different team members were adding duplicate links, Airtable was quick to deliver a warning message in real-time. Finally, the research section where we could search all of the entries and tags and categories was super-intuitive and useful when dealing with large amounts of data and content. Cons This particular project we worked on had to do with videos and still images, and despite Airtable being easy to use and navigate, and having certain things color coded + an overall pleasing aesthetic, I found myself wishing it was even more visual. If Airtable could do a better job of integrating videos or still images even at a preview capacity it would go a long way. July 30, 2022 4.0 Pros Airtable puts any other kind of spreadsheet system to shame. Imagine a Google sheet on steroids. Airtable gives you so much more functionality with regards to recording, sorting, and analysing data. I love the options available, and would have used Airtable for my main business hub if it had a better way to use it for task management and time tracking. It does everything else really well, and I do still use it for managing clients, tracking sales and sales goals, and maintaining my sales pipeline. Cons The cost. Once i started adding team members it got pretty expensive. Worth it, but for a small business like ours it was hard to justify having everyone on their own account. It's internal feature allow businesses and organisations to take a spreadsheet and add huge amounts of functionality to it and then by exposing that data to the app ecosystem the possibilities are vast. Cons Airtable is quite expensive when using it across a large organisation. We have found using it as a central database and then using other systems for user access can work well and reduce costs.
