Learning curve is a little steep but there are many YT videos available. Pros Ease of setup. Brings in data from Excel effortlessly. Great for a simple database. And it’s free! Cons Hard for the new user to set up relational databases. It's like taking extremely complex and complicated technology and dumbing it entirely down for general consumption. But not to say that it takes any any bells and whistles of a database at all because that is not compromised. There are also really cool coloring tools and project management type tools you can use to notify people, this can really be used for a lot of different applications. There is also the ability to upload attachments and create a lot of different views all based off the same database. Allowing you to have one Central spreadsheet of data but pivot it entirely for a multitude of different purposes without the need for you to create more sore sheets. They call these different views and it is really useful. I use it to store attachments as well as categorize all my business needs and ideas and even passwords. It really can do everything! Cons There isn't anything yet so far that I did not enjoy about using this product. Review Source Marshall E. Pros The ability to rapidly deploy solutions that are useable on any platform, even my phone. Integration with Zapier, the ability to embed forms on websites, cross linking between databases, etc. The free platform is great . I've been deploying solutions for my clients left and right. They have an excellent rewards structure for referring clients. Cons I would like the ability to have more granular control over the experience. I'd like the ability to resell the solutions I create. I wish they had a more Filemaker like graphical interface design element. Inline code execution would also be great. Review Source ID Ivan D. The ease with which we can create relationship between tables is brilliant, and it really helps to identify patterns and to manage data properly. Cons The lack of a simples mechanism to link Bases, that is really the deal breaker the prevents me from using for so much more. As you use airtable more and more, you end up reaching a point where you feel the need to link different bases, and there are several convoluted workarounds to achieve this, at least partially, but it really goes against the ease of use and customization of the solution you experience up to that limitation, and it becomes a deal breaker for many use cases. It works so much better than Excel and feels genuinely innovative and new comparatively. Management of data is easy to understand and the interface is very nice. Cons Only web based access so tricky when travelling to manage information, this may be for the basic plan anyway. We are able to store client information in the way we see fit. We are able to make surveys and other forms not only to send to current clients, but out to employees so we can better our business. This software is amazing for keeping people on track. You can even do a client view so they can see the information you need them to see without disclosing confidential information. Pros This software is very customizable to your business needs. I love that this software lets you organize your business the way you need it organized. Cons I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this software. It has literally been a life saver and such a great product to have. The fancy themes and colors were certainly pleasant. Cons It became another obstacle to intra-team communication, everyone needed an license. Beyond that, I didn't find anything that special about Airtable. It was cutesy and a little convenient but it ultimately became another place to duplicate other data into. While Airtable offered integrations, they were mainly through Zapier with limited privacy and data control. It was definitely user-friendly, but ultimately not what I needed and just an additional expense. Review Source ND Natalie D. The adoption process was seamless and it was easy to learn. Pros It can always be challenging managing a variety of personalities within a team. Everyone has a preference as to how they best work, but it is important to keep communication open within a team, and helps us all do that. It is a great software to keep teammates accountable and on task. If you are a manager, nothing really compares to Airtable's usability. Cons It can be hard for team members to adopt new softwares, especially if it is something they need to constantly add to their routine. It was hard to influence people to adopt a personal management system, but once buy-in was achieved it was appreciated by everyone! Review Source Danielle O. I'm known for having too many balls juggling at once, and Airtable's design makes it easy to get ideas and plans out of my head and into a realistic framework. I use a template I found that is designed for personal projects, and allows me to organize things by overarching goal, project, and individual task. It has really helped to declutter my mind. Pros I like 's flexibility. Right now I need it to be a huge to-do list and schedule organizer, but later I might need it to be a project management system complete with Gantt charts. I know it can do both. Cons If you jump in without a template to start from that's close to what you're looking for, can be intimidating to work with. It has its own jargon for the different levels of organization, and it wasn't initially clear to me how to use it. Cons The subscription level is just not fitting the use for a small team. I contacted several times to discuss but the team was just not flexible. So we choose to switch back to the old software. Reason for choosing Airtable We thought we could implement a more integrated tool to combine scheduling, order and purchasing processes. We would have loved to keep it using but subscription level are too expensive for a small company. Do we needed to switch back. I use to schedule, keep client contacts, and contracts. Pros The the built-in automation of these sheets is remarkable. One base has combined at least 4 Google sheets and saved me countless hours over the course of the year of redundant work. So many additional features that I haven't had the chance to mess around with. I'm sure there's something for everyone. Cons Still requires a bit of manual work at the set up. When I have found a new feature that I add into an existing base, the adoption is not always smooth. With there was more of a chance to explore features of paid version than a couple of weeks. I need to be able to track who is prospective, active, or inactive, when they last volunteered, hours, and all the different roles they have volunteered in. Before, we had all of that information in different spreadsheets and on Salesforce, but Airtable is allowing me to compile it in one place and filter by any of the pieces I might need to. Pros has made my database management a million times easier. With Excel or Google Docs, I had to have multiple spreadsheets that I was switching between and trying to keep track of. Airtable lets me keep all my information in one place, and the filter/grouping features are amazing. I've also been impressed and surprised by how many templates Airtable has built out, showing that it really can be used for a lot more than you might initially think. Cons I would like to be able to link different bases so that all information on database entries stays connected. My goal is to eventually replace Salesforce for our volunteer and donor tracking, but right now it doesn't seem that quite has the functionality to totally do so. Review Source Kelsie M. Thanks to that airtable handles up to 1200 of these cells in its free version we have been able to work much more comfortably. Recommended to set aside spreadsheets. Pros The best thing about is that despite allowing us to work with projects, its way of working is basically like any database management system, so it is much more flexible than other current PMS services. Cons Working with tables can be complicated if you do not have the proper experience, so really artartable is not recommended to anyone without experience. We also track portable buildings that we build and sell so that all of our lots can see what inventory is at all the other lots. Pros is as easy to set up and use as a spreadsheet with a good bit of the power of a relational database. Very intuitive to filter, sort and group Data. Cons Would like to have more flexibility for non-paying users that you've shared a link with and reporting is very rudimentary. Not able to set up an invoice or order form and then print it.
