May 18, 2021 5.0 Before Airtable, we had a hard time keeping track of our projects and the progress that we were making on them. Now, we can easily track our progress, reflect, and bring light to the projects that need more attention Pros We have greatly enjoyed how diverse this software is. There are premade templates that are great, and provides awesome insight on how powerful the software really is. I frequently use their social media calendar, and the project list. Cons There isnt anything that comes to mind. This software is robust and easy to use. There was no learning curve and it has been a great addition to our team. Very easy to built tables, and it has a community full of great ideas. This is mainly for entrepreneurs and I love it. It saved time and resources to me and my team. May 8, 2020 5.0 I am still exploring it and learning how to use it, but I have not had a bad experience yet and have found many good things. Pros I am the director of a non-profit that helps students in China receive educational help. We give college scholarships every year to about 40 students. To have an interactive spreadsheet where I can see the application process of all students is revolutionary. I can attach their pictures, application forms, grades, etc. all in the same table. Then I can connect them to their sponsors' information and add progress as the sponsors send in payments. It is an alive thing that I can share with our staff and have them all working on the same sheet and entering data they would usually email to be isolated on a computer somewhere where others could not access it. Because it is in the cloud, it isn't going to crash or get a virus. Cons The one drawback is the great firewall of China that hinders our Chinese staff from using Airtable. Reason for choosing Airtable I am using the free model right now. We might have upgraded if our Chinese staff could use it. You can't beat free for a non-profit. Review Source Kelsey A. It is excel on steroids and makes sharing documents, tracking information, and creating process flows easy! A great tool to use especially in a project-based setting with many stakeholders and task. The intuitive feel of excel but functionality of a CRM, you can truly mold Airtable to your business needs. We were able to create 10 different and unique use cases of Airtable. Each serve a function critical to the business. Cons Some improvement could be a training academy to learn some basic and advanced methods of using Airtable's advanced features. I use this software to budget, layout projects, keep track of project work, collaborate etc. There is so much flexibility in how to present your data in the table. The ability to create access for other is also extremely handy. Cons I would like the ability to create dashboards based on the information I have entered into an Airtable. My team loves the data flexiblity and view options the platform gives over Excel or Google Sheets. Airtable has really taken the spreadsheet software to the next level. Cons The massive feature set and use cases can actually be a little troublesome. Sometimes my team gets paralyzed by the number of options and spends too much time fiddling with the options instead of entering the data. June 18, 2018 5.0 Keep track information in a more visual, interesting way Export and import spreadsheets from Excel and Google Sheets Pros The amount of customization that is possible with an Airtable base gives you an incredible amount of control and flexibility. There isn't anything you can't track and analyze with Airtable. Cons The pricing jump between features is my least favorite part of airtable. The additional features are mostly for applying aesthetic choices to your bases but jump up to twice the cost of the first paid package. Cons I'd love to see alerts and more robust mobile capability. Like any tracker, if the mob stops using it then its relevance dies out. We need tools to make it easy to keep it going. The widely adaptable usage; supports everything from website backend to team/workflow management Cons Some team members with less prior experience in SaaS UIs encountered difficulty in learning to operate Airtable; a better introductory demo could help with that. The various views are easy to use, flexible, and utterly usable in general. Cons I keep running up against little features which, to me, seem obvious, but are still lacking. I think it's fairly young software, and these things will come with time. I also want to try things that are behind the paywall, without committing, but there's no way to kick the tires after your initial trial (which is probably wasted on a new user). Pros I liked that it was integrated with Slack, although I wish there was more control in how those push notifications came through for edits (like only for one column, rather than the whole sheet). The customization was nice and overall it was very intuitive and easy to use. Cons It didn't end up being the best product for our purposes (tracking progress on a publication). The notifications ended up clogging our Slack feed, and a lot of manual updating of the sheet was having to be done. Other programs work better for inputting deadlines and automatically updating. January 15, 2019 5.0 Trying to keep track of over 100 writers would be almost impossible without AirTable. I'm constantly having to switch content around and this makes it a breeze. The interface is pretty attractive and I love that there is an option for my whole team to use it for free. Pros This software is so amazing. I run a really complicated editorial calendar with lots of switching around and archival content, and this makes it so easy. It's a breeze to change the status on all of the articles as I go along throughout the month. I love that I can keep literally any thing I need in the program, including links to other boards or even full length articles and attachments. It's really aesthetically pleasing as well. Cons My main complain with this software is that the PLUS features are kind of difficult to figure out how to use. Yes, they have lots of tutorials, but they tutorials are sometimes vague or too lengthy. I also feel like the features you get from the free version vs the plus version don't really justify the cost if you have more than 2 users. Review Source JL Jennifer L. Pros There are tremendous possibilities with what looks like just a spreadsheet. It can be a little overwhelming to start but templates and online resources helped me learn what I could do. Cons It feels a little expensive to scale, with each seat being between $10-$20 a month depending, there were a few surprising bills. It's a great alternative for things I used to track in Excel and Google Sheets. I like the ability to color code, tag, sort, the different view modes, etc. I am still a pretty newbie user because I haven't had a chance to explore it's full potential. If I ever become a power user, this could be a great efficiency and time saving tool. Pros It's an upgrade to the old fashioned spreadsheet. It offers a lot of features and different ways to lay out and analyze the data. Cons Hard to get used to, tricky to figure out the best approach to set up a new table so I sometimes have to start over. Reason for choosing Airtable Recommended by a friend. Pros It's easy to use, the design is really user-friendly, has nice colors which are important when you're handling database software. The design of a tool like this can either facilitate or complicate things. Also, you can divide your files to have easiest access to the one you want to use. Cons At first, it can be hard to understand depending on how much information your company is keeping there, but eventually, it becomes an amazing tool.
