Software Developer Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Good software but pretty expensive so not for everyone" December 2, 2025 4.0 As we are remote based workers, the tool eliminates us constantly messaging each other through the day asking “what’s the status”, the status is available in the base. The data replication from our existing tools is also simplified and I am not forced to enter the same information twice (which wasted hours of my time prior). It has provided value to the marketing team as they now have a centralized location to house their creative assets so they’re not drowning in an ocean of emails. Pros The forms worked better than expected at automating data intake, so I don’t have to type everything in by hand and I’m grateful for that. The ability to view both a timeline and a board view give me a visual of the disaster that we have going on as far as our schedule goes without having to ask the five different people involved what’s going on. Cons The mobile application feels stiff and upon clicking links from an email they do not open within the app and instead load forever making me want to simply throw the phone. There seems to be an ease in over engineering the entire system and subsequently no one will know how to use the system as we’ve created it to be too complex due to the excessive amount of fields. It's also pretty expensive, especially when you often have people who need access who aren't on your team. Great integrations to make for seamless correlation. Pros I love airtable because they are able to keep deals organized in a way that not many can. We use it for a specific section of deals that is managed by its own teams and it makes communication seamless. Cons Airtable really does have any huge disadvantages. Airtable has been instrumental in helping us build a robust, highly customized infrastructure to support our operations. That said, working at this scale does present challenges. As our environment has grown, we’ve started to notice performance slowdowns on an almost daily basis. It's a testament to how deeply integrated Airtable is in our workflows — but also a signal that further optimization at scale would make a big difference. The mobile app, while feature-rich, has been less reliable in our experience. It tends to crash or close unexpectedly about a third of the time we open it, which can be frustrating in time-sensitive situations. Despite these issues, Airtable remains a core part of our system, and its potential continues to impress. We’re optimistic that future updates will bring even greater stability and performance, especially for enterprise-scale users like us. Pros I came to Airtable with very little coding knowledge, but it not only helped me accomplish everything I needed — it actually propelled me beyond basic programming skills. Learning to use formulas and scripts within Airtable gave me the confidence and tools to start thinking like a developer. What really sets Airtable apart is how it continues to evolve. New features and added flexibility are introduced regularly, keeping the platform fresh and constantly improving. No other low-code product I’ve tried comes close to matching its balance of power, ease of use, and adaptability. If you're looking for a tool that grows with you, Airtable is in a league of its own. Cons I know from discussion with the support team we have one of the biggest, if not the biggest, environments. With this massive infrastructure we have built it is almost daily we experience slowdown. The mobile app is undependable. I find it self closing at least 1 out of every 3 times i open it. Each base can be uniquely designed to fit the use case, and I've used to many different projects and tasks throughout my career. Each base can also be shared with specific people, ensuring greater collaboration for those who need it. Pros I like it because it is a no-code app. I love the real-time collaborations. It is easy to update everyone in real-time. I am able to build excellent apps and use them for integrations. Cons Exporting data can be cumbersome and not intuitive. The mobile app needs some love, as it takes a lot of taps to get to the data/tables you use most often — let me favorite tables! And most of all, the inability to merge fields is a huge blind spot. Development progressed more rapidly because information was widely accessible to all. The ability to see everything in one place was a huge improvement; it’s also incredibly adaptable, easy to use and packed with capabilities that meet our requirements. Pros Meetings, documentation, databases, frontends and backends are the constant in my life. I have all my information spread out in a thousand places: notes, documents, tasks and codes. Airtable has been a complete workspace, not just an app to take notes or manage tasks for me. I can create pages, databases, boards, lists... anything. What I need, I can do: pages, databases, boards, lists, whatever. From team sprints to technical documentation, this has helped me keep everything in one place as a developer. Also, the code integration is great: I can embed blocks of code in your notes and see them with the right syntax highlighting. Cons The mobile version lacks the capabilities of the desktop version, but still works well enough. Pros I am using the free version for project management, and I like the way is displays and tracks all my projects, and I can sort tasks by due day, status or project. Cons The free version does not let you use the timeline feature for tracking projects. Cons The interface functionality is very basic with many bugs. A very notable bug is sometimes when you edit records within an interface within the Android mobile app records don't update within the underlying tables. The dashboard screen is very basic and makes it a slow process to find what interface or base you want to edit. I don't want to have to pay for each client just so they can leave a comment. Learning Airtable was efficient. I appreciated the "drag and drop" capabilities to move text from an Excel format into a format within Airtable to export to PDF. Formatting headers and bullet point lists was a bit slow and laborious. Pros The design was intuitive to use- a coworker was able to show me quickly how to import data from Excel into Airtable and format it, then pull it out as a PDF. I used Airtable to format one-pagers that included headers and bullet point lists. All of this functionality worked well. Cons There is no equivalent of the Microsoft Paintbrush tool for easy formatting; you have to retype the text and reformat it how you want. This makes formatting time-consuming. There are, however, plenty of fonts and text options (bold, italics, etc.) so you have available to you similar functionality to the rest of Microsoft Word. It basically meant hiring a temp for a month per year. Here are two pricing traps to be aware of: \* When you upgrade from a Team to Business plan, you cannot downgrade without deleting almost your entire base to a free plan. Then you can upgrade back to a Team plan. \* The monthly usage does not reset even if you pay for a new month.
