From the start all staff have been able to use and manage timetastic. Much better than our old google calendar based approach Pros \- Simple to use - basic, distraction free functionality - Email notifications work well - Overviews and dept filtering are very useful Cons \- Timetastic is quite basic, however that's part of the beauty. Each of member of staff (including myself) has a time off calendar, and I can see how many days they have remaining from their holiday allowance. Before using this I never knew how many days off they had remaining, and we ran the risk of breaking the law / overworking our staff. Now it's very clear to me and my team, and I'm finding that the process of giving people leave is far clearer and effective. It's also incredibly affordable for me as a small business. I also like that it integrates with Google Calendar / Apple Calendar which is what we use for managing our time on a project basis, too. Cons I have no complaints at all. It is basic and that is reflected in the price. We have already encountered some limitations with the software but for the most part it does what we need. It is useful for line managers to be able to see where there may be conflicts with multiple staff members on leave - we didn't have this before and have found it very useful in ensuring we have adequate cover which is particularly important in a small charity. Pros The software is very easy to use which means we don't have to spend time training staff and the fact that it can be accessed via the internet is useful for those staff members who want to book leave or check days remaining when they are not in the office. We are a Not For Profit organisation so are also very happy with the cost. Cons We found the main limitation in the software for us is if an individual's leave entitlement changes during the course of the current year. We had a staff member who reduced their number of hours which impacted their leave entitlement but Timetastic couldn't accommodate the changes to pro-rate leave based on the new entitlement so we had to come up with a manual workaround. Similarly, if we have someone on contract with a known end of contract date, it would be useful to have the option of entering a leave date so the holiday calculations could be made automatically, instead we have to work it out manually. The Slack integration works well and allows everyone to see who's off on a given day. Cons I don't feel the integration with anything else I'm using is good enough. We integrate with Slack, but that's it. I'd like to be able to pull it into the scheduling software I use (Harvest/forecast). Desk Staff Sports Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Easiest way to schedule time off" July 19, 2019 5.0 Pros I work part time at a climbing gym (while doing design work on the side) and we implemented this software a while ago, as we have a younger staff that is often in school as well as working. Now that it's summer, we're also having a lot of people go off on vacation etc. In past jobs requesting/booking/organizing time off was always a mess of forms, conversations, etc, but Timetastic simplifies everything and brings it all under one roof. It looks great, is easy to use, and gives us a clear line of sight on who will be gone when, and what roles we need to fill in the gym. e Cons There's not much I don't like. Sort of a negative, I guess, is that it could stand to have more features. Like, for example, an ability to notify people by email automatically when approaching end of year and an employee has a bunch of vacation hours that they need to use. Review Source Wayne F. I love the slack integration which makes approvals clear and quick. Same for the calendar integration, I can see at any point who will be on leave when I'm planning events or meetings. Pros It does leave management simply and well. It doesn't try to do too much, and has just the right integrations with Slack and Google Calendar. I've not had any issues with onboarding people onto the system because it's clear and intuitive. Cons No complaints, I'd like a few more options on leave notifications (e.g. showing me the week before who will be away), and maybe some work anniversary notifications. The employees started using it right away as well. We are very satisfied with Timetastic. Pros I really like the fact that there is a summary of the non deductible leave. If the two things mentioned before could be in some way sorted, that'd be brilliant! Good luck guys! Pros It is quite intuitive, very easy to handle and to explain to new users. Also modern looking with a clean and nice appearance. And last but not least, very functional, on a DIY basis saving time and request form papers/emails. Cons The only thing I miss is being able to switch accounts without having to log out. Also, based on our organization structure, there are colleagues that have to share their absences in different accounts, because they report to two companies from the group and we had to create new email accounts so that they can introduce all their details on both timetastics, that they find it quite tedious. Easy 'at a glance' understanding of holiday allowance and sick leave. The team have confidence that it's accurately and fairly tracked. Pros I didn't have to think at all to work out what I needed to do. The design was so simple I could just look at the screen and know what was needed. For our small team this works perfectly. Cons There's nothing really bad to say. I guess I'd like to request some sort of Google for Business integration, so that I can link account creation via Google and better integrate our calendars. Timetastic has improved the way we manage staff, their allowances, their leave and more importantly allows us to do it efficiently. Pros The main pro was that it could be accessed remotely. Director Printing Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Helping People Manage Leave Time" September 18, 2018 4.0 Overall Timetastic works well without any problems, very reliable, all the people in our organisation love being able to see who's off, and when they can book time off in the comfort of the armchair at home, without having to wait until they are back at the office to quiz the wall calendar or the manager. Time off becomes a discussion at home, leaving the office free to do work. Pros Staff and managers can submit and confirm time for leave at a glance, helped by Timetastic flagging a warning that too many people may be on leave at the same time, which could result in a staffing problem. The software also sends notifications to all parties to confirm the action that has been taken and agreed, whether it be to confirm the leave or to explain why leave was not granted. Cons No cons that I can think to mention, some may think that this can be done through Google or iCal, but neither of these calendars are independent, so they don't send the messages which keep your paperwork / paper trail complete making sure that you as a manager / business owner have the correct information to hand if there should be a dispute. Timetastic allows everyone to send their request in directly, whenever they like. We've found that most employees do this in the evening when they are planning holidays, and as it alerts me on my phone, I can instantly accept their request so that they can continue planning their time off. Not only is this more efficient but it makes staff happier knowing that they can request time off and have a quick decision, without the awkward conversations in the office. Pros Staff can send a request in minutes and I can approve directly from the iOS app. I never have to keep track of allowances, and recalculate anymore. I can easily add lieu days to staff allowances. We can book Christmas closure dates before the year starts allowing staff to see the real number of days, and check live data at anytime they wish. I can sync all holidays with our Google Calendar so that it updates live, without waiting for someone to update it. Cons Literally nothing. There is absolutely nothing I would change, and I can't even think of new features I'd like to see. The features mean that more than one person can authorise requests and helps make holiday management easily integrated into our business. Cons The only limitation I have found, is you are unable to set allowances for different leave types- this is reserved for Holiday only and would be useful for other leave types as well.
