Pros: I like this software so much that I pay for it monthly, and I don't consider 25 a month "cheap" for me. But it has been so useful that I can't imagine not having access to all the features.

It's complicated to say what I like most because that entails an explanation of what it does. It basically combines spreadsheets with databases and then allows you to view your data in a multitude of customizable ways. And share just the parts you want to share, or all of it. You can also add collaborators or have clients input information directly through forms. You can take all of this and embed it on your website or on facebook.

The various views can be a gallery of photos, or a more standard spreadsheet, or you can output it to lists like an address list, or set it up to print labels of just the records you want to include.

You can use it for project management and production queues, keeping track of vendors or clients, sorting and updating inventories. It's really brilliant to the point that I've moved away from other spreadsheet programs, task management systems and photo gallery software in favor of using Airtable.

Cons: It's not perfect! There are a few things I haven't figured out how to do or it's fairly clunky still. But much of that is my own lack of skill in certain areas. I'd love to utilize API but I'm still too much of a novice to really figure it out. Once I do, though, I feel like it will take my website to another level.

One of the features is the ability to take a group of records and output it into a format you create. It would be great if there were some templates available for this sort of thing, but I'm not even sure how that could be implemented. It could just be my own laziness!

Overall: I love it so much I support it financially, which is a big deal for me. I'm a very small business and a monthly subscription is always viewed suspiciously. But I love how they are constantly building in new features that make it more and more usable. Things I didn't even know I wanted until it existed. And there is a free option! I just wanted access to the premium features.

I'm currently using it for:

-production queue

-development outlines and goal setting

- inventory tracking linked with vendor management

- galleries of photos incorporated on my website and on Facebook

- managing home chores and tasks

- keeping track of any number of personal and professional lists

Pros: As an early adopter of Airtable, I've seen the program grow from a more functional and intuitive version of Excel to a full fledged application that can do anything from spreadsheet management to producing a CRM or project workflow. Initially, I used the application for QA and bug tracking, but now I use it for inventory for art I collect (I can even include photos for visual reference), lead tracking and generation, and a few other practical things. The more I use Airtable, the more I'm impressed with how much potential the application has to positively impact any business, organization, or individual.

Cons: For first time users, it can be a bit intimidating, especially if checking out the application, casually. One great resource that Airtable introduced is Airtable Universe, which highlights and demonstrates working and real examples of how companies and industries are using Airtable to track deadlines, scheduling, and a slew of other use cases. I would recommend that as the starting point for any novice of the application or anyone interested in giving it a try.

Overall: As I mentioned before, I am now using the application for QA and bug tracking, but have also used it for task tracking on collaborative projects I work on, which I've found to be really effective. I run my own business and am the only employee, so I don't need a full fledged project management solution and found this to be a great alternative when working with other companies that don't use one for web development, either.

Since Airtable also provides different ways to view data (Grid, Form, Gallery, Calendar, Kanban) the ways in which this product can be used are infinite. There's even a mobile app!

Pros: When I first started to use Airtable, I came away deeply frustrated with it's usability. It's sometimes slow, straightly obtuse to use and has many "pending features" that would be extremely helpful for some of the simplest of tasks.

However, there came a time when I had to organise a league table for a tournament over the internet, and all of sudden, Airtable clicked.

What Airtable is good at is creating a database of entries for a specific use, so for example, making an internet registration form where a user can enter data and "register" their interest in a particular thing is so quick and easy to do.

I created an application form which auto stored the data into a highly organised table that I could then use however I wanted (I created a league table from the registered users with ease and shared the results of the league as the scoring progressed) - all via the internet, I don't know of a way that I could have achieved this without AirTable, Google Docs would have been a possible solution, but Airtable allows you to add attachments easily (so images, etc) as well as allowing you to manipulate (And hide) data in any way you can think of using Rollups and Lookups - two of it's most powerful features.

Once you get used to it, Airtable becomes useful, and I can see myself using it again and again when I want to organise a very specific and distributed task on the internet.

Cons: Don't think this is Excel in a different disguise, it's not, it's not as adaptable and not as powerful as Excel. You couldn't use it to track a project or manage a holiday system or anything like that, but creating a full customer list for a newsletter? Yep, easy, that's the kind of thing it DOES do really well.

It could use a few more features on the free tier of the software (the paid tier unlocks "blocks" - which is a strange name for plugins, which allow you to view the data in different visual ways but ultimately it's not as well integrated as it should be and therefore has a limited use)

Another thing is that Airtables mobile interface is woeful compared to it's desktop version, and for some reason you can't access the desktop website via mobile. I have no idea what compelled them to make this decision but it's something they need to address in the future. The mobile layout is next to useless.

Overall: Airtable has very specific uses that would be hard to replicate anywhere else with another piece of software. It has many flaws and drawbacks, but once you accept them (and find ways to circumvent them) it can be quite a handy and interesting piece of software.

Comments: Airtable is a refreshing new look at what spreadsheets can be. It is great for organizations with varying degrees of user experiences with spreadsheets. And if your organization uses spreadsheets quite extensively, then this might be a great alternative. As mentioned in Cons, the proprietary nature of Airtable means that if you need to keep a standalone copy in a file format, you will not be able to do so. You can import those current spreadsheets, but once manipulated and modified in Airtable, you must continue using it. So, archival files are not possible. Something to consider, as some enterprise environment do like to keep electronic files locally archived for attachment to specific documentations. Airtable might not be that solution.

Pros: Spreadsheets are great because of their flexibility. But most of its power lies behind a vast library of functions that users must have a good understanding about its syntax and how to use it. Add to that the fact that they are not exactly pretty to look at. The solution lies with Airtable. Coined as part spreadsheet and part database, it provides a new way of displaying vital information without all the hassles of setting up a spreadsheet. For starters, Airtable offers a vast array of templates and layouts to choose from. If you are proficient, or the templates simply do not provide you with the necessary layout, you can start one from scratch. Maybe even create your own template. Airtable is like a high performance spreadsheet with a serious upgrade on its user interface. Even the user experience is something quite amazing. YOu add, remove or modify the columns and configure them to accept the data you need. It does all a spreadsheet can do, except that its coolest feature is its ability to go from a grid appearance, like your typical spreadsheet, to a form appearance, which resembles more of a database. Airtable offers a wide array of functionality in its free subscription level. Upgrades offer more customization options that enhance the functionality and appearance of your table. And to make the transition from regular old boring spreadsheets to Airtable, they offer importing of your data to start off with.

Cons: It is much easier than your typical spreadsheet, but if you are a true spreadsheet power user, you may find a bit of a lack in its functionality. Again, only if you are a power user, which most of us are really not when it comes to everything spreadsheets can do. There are limited hover over hints for the buttons and fields, so you need to really click on them to find out what they are used for. Novice spreadsheet users will still find a similar learning curve with Airtable, but because the core functionalities are visible from the top ribbon, it does make it just a bit easier to use. But, remember, there will still be a slight learning curve, especially with more advance features. Please note, it does well at importing those current spreadsheets, but Airtable is proprietary and online, and does not do well if you need to export it into a document for archival purposes.

Pros: * lends itself well to building information tracking resources * simple data-driven layout * scalable project areas my operations team uses airtable to manage a lot of information flow and have converted complex tracking resources into the airtable format. the fact that we now utilize the app for a lot of these solutions is a testament to its immediate strengths. i enjoy how airtable doesn't necessarily force me into any specific workflow, which has been the major reason why other project management solutions don't work--everyone has a different philosophy around project management.

Cons: * pricing model * learning curve * communication management * lack of certain standard features there are a lot of glaring pain points that my team encounters on a weekly basis which makes airtable, not necessarily the perfect solution but rather the best we've found so far. first off, airtable is too expensive for my company based specifically on their pricing model. to note, airtable charges per user per workspace. each member of my team manages specific projects related to a different area of the business. for ease of organization, we have a separate airtable workspace built to accomodate each employee. for example, we have a workspace for finance projects and a workspace for customer support projects. from a visual project management standpoint, this makes the most sense. sometimes our finance manager will need to engage and comment on a project base going on in the customer support workspace and vice versa. this engagement occurs daily. if you're a single user, incredibly small team or your company is client-based (where these costs would go into your billing), airtable's pricing model may not be much of a hinderance. there is a high learning curve when you get started. this is about a week of tutorials and deep-diving into the app. a lot of this time was spent modifying personal workflows to best utilize airtable. after that week of hair-pulling and a lot of cursing at our computer screens everything immediately became easier. one strong flaw in airtable is its team communication solutions. you have the ability to run comment strings on individual data rows, but an overall tab dedicated to general discussion would be immensely helpful to streamline discussion and reduce the amount of hunting/pecking for information. for a project management solution, airtable is fairly weak at offering seemingly standard task management features like scheduled notifications and workback timelines. after enough online digging, you can sometimes stumble upon a "good enough" solution. on this subject, archiving is not at all available, which is one of the more "seriously?" missing features.

Pros: Last year I was on the search for a solution to replace XLS and found Airtable. Previously we were using microsoft xls, as we found even GoogleDocs didn't work for our purpose.

We produce hundreds and up to thousands of products for one event and previously used xls to keep track of production and for by line item invoicing purposes. The ability to have all the data in one spreadsheet but then filter things out in a specific view that allows you to see only what you want is useful and makes it so you don't have to have multiple spreadsheets with the same data. For example we have an invoicing view, that's filtered easily to show costs. Then a post event inventory view where clients can see what they can use for next event. We also have a QC view where our team members can easily QC the product without all the unnecessary data in their view/way. We also use filters to easily show us what still needs to be approved and what is left to be produced for the event. It's a been a great way for us to manage large scale projects and our clients love it. Also, the fact that it has a phone app is helpful to us since we work events, we are constantly on the road traveling and not always at a computer.

The ability to download the spreadsheets is simple also, so when I need to create an XLS file to accompany our invoice, this is simple and easy for me to do.

Cons: The #1 priority for improvement that every Airtable user complains about is the lack of restrictive access. Access is "all or nothing" so if I give my clients "Read" access, they're only limited to one view and can't edit or note anything. If we give them "Edit" access they are able to edit anything in our entire database, including our pricing, so that doesn't work. We want, for example, a customer to be able to go and note/change info for one column and not be able to add/remove anything. For example they could go in and put "approved" for a line item that they approve for production, but can't change any cells not in that column.

I'm not confident in their tech support at this time . Recently we had some data loss issues that created mass concern. We added data to specific cells in an existing spreadsheet, and the next day the data was gone. Airtable keeps record of any change in a cell and there was no record of us ever entering the data, like it never happened. We provided specific examples and their explanation of "packet loss" on our end makes zero sense. Based on data that we entered that day, we added a photo, then added a date, photo, then date... all the photos stuck, the dates did not, so it would mean that every other second a packet data loss happened? They still haven't given a suitable answer to this, and if you can't rely on the data you enter being there, that's made us think twice about moving to the paid version, which we were about to.

Overall: We can have many views of the same data in one place without duplicating the data. Each person can have their own view based on the data they need to see. The biggest benefit we've had is time saving and the ability to access this data anywhere, at any time.

Pros: The fact that you can build the tool you need and that in that process the conversation your team will have is very valuable. Airtable is not an out-of-the-box just but more like Lego bricks and the (almost) only your own imaging that set the boundaries. So you need to ask the right questions about what is it you want to do and know? Which information do you need and what do you want to be able to do with it. When you ask that questions in a team you will have a great conversation about goals, ways of working, differences in need etc.

Airtable provides you with a variety of tools to make this happen but you need to take the time to build your tool. If you don't and "just" use it as a spreadsheet you won't use the real potential of it.

We have used Airtable to keep track of a complex website, booking a video equipment, project, ideas, teachers projects and more. One of the most powerful things about Airtable is that you can create different views and then create different processes.

An example is that we have a table with activities for teaching that we publish on our website. We needed a process for reviewing text for errors, a process for reviewing which activities we should share and not share, a process for which activities we had cases for etc. Doing that in Trello would mean multiple boards. in Airtable we could just create a new view with the same records.

Cons: I will say that hardest part about Airtable is understanding the logic behind it and that it is something else than a spreadsheet. I took me some time, and it has been hard explaining it to my colleagues.

Overall: I can now build the tool I need. And since my (and my teams) needs changes with time I can modify my Airtable bases to match that.

When you build your own tool with Airtable you will need to ask good questions about your need and goals and if you're in a team this can start a very good conversation.

It's much easier for me now to get not lost track of a big and complex project because I can split it into smaller parts that more understandable.

With features like formula and roll-up, I can setup my base to quickly show me some important information. Like how many urgent task within an acitivity.

Pros: We've migrated several of our Operations Office processes to Airtable and couldn't be happier. Not only is Airtable easy to use, it's easy to integrate. It might not do everything we need, but by linking tools, like Zapier, it's so simple to manipulate data and let the data trigger actions in the other software that we use every day.

For example, we've built a base to track key distribution for our 210,000 sq. ft. facility. We have a table with records for each of the 858 unique keys in our inventory, which links to a table where we track all of the keys issued to individuals. With filtered views, it's easy to see who has past due keys or which rooms are at the greatest security risk. And because it's all web-based, we don't have to worry about who checks in a key because everyone's base is updated in real time.

As a relational database, Airtable lets you establish connections between two complex tables. We can click on a person to see all of the keys they've been issued, or we can click on a key to see all of the people who have it.

Not only are our processes more efficient, they're actually more productive. Working from a standard spreadsheet, the type of reporting we're doing now would not be feasible. With Airtable, getting the answer is almost as easy as asking the question, and with the mobile app, I can ask the question wherever I am in the building--or outside of it.

Cons: Airtable has a great feature set as a relational database, particularly for the price and ease of use, but there are some limitations--not enough to cost a star in any one category though. The nine bases we've built so far were all things that we migrated from a spreadsheet system. From that perspective, Airtable is missing the ability to use conditional formatting and it's a little lean on available functions in the formula field. So far I've managed to find workarounds for almost everything, but they're not always the most elegant. Despite these limitations, we recently upgraded to an annual paid plan after six months on the free plan.

Overall: Airtable saves us time, but it also saves us money. We're able to better manage resources when we can see how everything connects. That's what Airtable is great at. We had the data, but we were missing the lenses to put it in perspective. Having a column of dates in a spreadsheet is useful; being able to see those entries distributed on a calendar with a single click is a game-changer.

Pros: The greatest feature of Airtable is how flexible and customizable it is. If you can dream it, there's probably a way to do it in Airtable. Usually, that type of flexibility comes with a poor user interface or a steep learning curve. Not so with Airtable. It starts where users are familiar (a basic spreadsheet) and makes it easy to add on powerful features. You don't have to be a database guru to gain major efficiencies.

Cons: I wish there were more formatting options for the long text fields, particularly for Markdown support. This would leave the field essentially plain text on the backend, but would render stylistically on the front end. This would allow for many new use cases for the platform.

Overall: I have used Airtable since its early days for a variety of business and personal uses. And that's what I love about it: it's so flexible that it can meet just about any use case. At work, it has helped me organize complex projects, track content libraries, provide detailed documentation about major website overhauls, and more. In the time I've used it, I've been impressed with the rich feature sets that are regularly added, and the documentation is helpful. The team at Airtable seems to really understand who their customers are and what they need to be successful.

Pros: I love that it's structured like an Excel doc - it makes learning it and teaching others really easy. The ability to group, filter, and sort is amazing and the multiple views create visualizations for people who see things differently.

The vast number of templates to use or start from is unmatched in the project management software space.

Customer service is incredible. They're help FAQs online are great, and if you reach out to talk with someone they are responsive with helpful info.

Cons: It's not easy to sort something out of view (e.g. a checkmark column for done items, there's a workaround but it could be easier)

It's difficult to have dependencies like Excel (e.g. if I select a date in the column, populate a date in the other)

For project management, it's not the easiest to handle sub-tasks. You can create a column for the main task and then group on that, but for projects with many main tasks it becomes cumbersome to rely on always having it grouped that way.

You can't copy a template into an existing base.

Pricing per user, per account. It would be amazing to upgrade only certain bases so all users on my account are counted the same.

Overall: I love Airtable! As a consultant I'm using it now on 3 different projects and everyone who I've invited to join loves it. It's intuitive to use if you're familiar with Excel and easy to bring people in. The free version they offer is amazing and you should start there. Before you dive in, review the template space so you can get creative ideas on how to start building your bases.

Pros: Airtable is above all easy to use. You don't need a computer science degree or coding certificate to do great work with it. And this doesn't seem to compromise its functionality for the average user. The organization capabilities - from the overall workspaces to within the records themselves - are what drew us in, and the file storage capabilities, Zapier integration, and collaborative workspaces totally hooked us. The ability to customize each individual database is paramount, and we rely on the fact that we can access our databases from anywhere. The colors also should not be taken for granted.

Cons: There are some limitations that we have had to find workarounds for, primarily not being able to share information across bases (we now use a Zapier integration to do this, but we've found it unreliable and limited in its own right), and not being able to integrate email in a way that is useful for our business. But there is nothing that Airtable CAN do that we dislike.

Overall: Airtable is an impressive blend of high functionality and easy user experience. We've been able to standardize and streamline our employee onboarding process, store and organize important documentation for our team and affiliates, increase the depth and efficiency of our client management system, and collaboratively create and build new content for our clients. It's Zapier and Asana integrations have been critical to these processes. We now have 35 employees, whose tech literacy range widely, using Airtable in their daily work. We absolutely LOVE Airtable!

Pros: Airtable offers ultimate flexibility and accessibility. Gone are the days when you must spend a significant portion of efforts with schema and data dictionary design upfront. Database development and management can now be truly iterative. That mate very well with agile development methodologies.

The graphical nature of the platform spares users from possessing prerequisite knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and command-line interface (CLI).

The design principle democratizes NoSQL by gifting business users the benefits of NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, Amazon's DynamoDB). It expertly fills the void between Excel, Access, SQL and NoSQL databases, and even FileMaker Pro!

Cons: Most of Airtable's targeted clientele may already be familiar with advanced functions from Excel or SQL and would naturally be interested in leveraging them for advanced calculations or business logic. As feature-packed as Airtable is, it is bound to run into selected use cases where functionality gaps manifest themselves. Airtable is diligently working on plugging these gaps, and I remain extremely hopeful and faithful!

Overall: The capability and flexibility to rapidly launch a database, then incrementally revise schema, business logic, and views as needs evolve. The numerous filtered views streamline role-based data entry. Most importantly, the ease of sharing and embedding is a godsend. None of the products on the marketplace lives in that sweet spot like Airtable does.

Pros: This software can ingest all types of information and organize it as effectively as you organize data in Excel. You can literally organize anything Airtable. It is so easy to use and has replaced several tools my team used to use for document, task and project management. If you have the help of developers, you can plug into Airtable to power things elsewhere. This means, non technical people can be adding data, content to an airtable and our devs automatically pull this into a real time engine that powers work processes, products, etc. I mean i seriously cannot promote this enough. I've probably invited 30 people to Airtable and all of them are wow-ed by it. Used it for engineering projects, planning trips, helping friends redecorate homes. Truly priceless tool - I compare it to Slack in the impact it has had on my workflow.

Cons: Would like to be able to reference & pull in data from other worksheets/bases.

Overall: Streamlined document, task and project management. Incredible increase in transparency and collaboration. Easy for many different types of teams to use the same information in different ways due the flexibility of the data display. My entire worklife is organized in Airtable. Feature development, project management, maintaining specs, running real time feeds, easy to edit database.

Pros: My favorite thing about Airtable is how flexible and yet still usable it is. I can keep very detailed records with complex formulas in one table, with a simple to-do list in another. The views and filters are also fantastic. I can have several ways of viewing one table, making it easy for me to see my data in the way that makes the most sense. For example, I can view project tasks in a kanban format but then click to a calendar view to see when things are due. Airtable also connects to Zapier, which enables me to send automated emails like client receipts.

Cons: The only drawback is that it's not built for long form text. I keep track of projects and clients on it, but for client notes I use Milanote. You can use it for long chunks of text, but that's not what it's really geared toward.

Overall: I honestly love Airtable. I use it to organize projects and my work with clients. It's just so utterly easy to use, I can't imagine there being a better product. I'm someone who always found Excel confusing, so the fact that I'm able to create formulas so easily has been great. I finally upgraded my plan after a couple of years, not because I had to, but because I was interested in some of the pro features, like the better colors and extra calendar capabilities. The phone app is also really great!

I've used Airtable to develop powerful solutions for shared equipment, facilities, and purchases.

Pros: 1. It's easy to use AND extremely powerful--a very unusual combination for relational database applications.

2. You can quickly access and edit your information from anywhere using your phone, tablet, or computer.

3. You can easily collect information from others via custom forms and share information using shared views.

4. You can view your information in many different ways depending on your needs--spreadsheet, calendar, gallery, and kanban.

5. You can perform all kinds of mathematical operations on items in your database in order to help with evaluating and predicting resource uses.

Cons: 1. I wish I could share some tables between bases or hide tables that I don't usually need to visit. I'm getting to the point where I have so many tables in the same base that it feels a bit overwhelming.

2. I don't see a way to get my information out of the database in a form that clearly preserves the relationships, formulas, and attachments (beyond exporting to CSV files). It's a major investment of time and energy to create these databases and it makes me nervous that the company could stop supporting the product at anytime (remember DabbleDB).

Comments: I would absolutely recommend this for many projects, it is fun and easy to set up and use. Perhaps keep the budget analysis for a typical spreadsheet or be prepared to deep dive into the documentation and creative solutions if you want to use Airtable for finances.

Pros: This database allows you to visualize, organize and track the progress of various projects in your personal and professional life. It is fully collaborative, so optimized for group or individual projects, complete with permissions. Rather than staring at rows of spreadsheet numbers and charcters, you can grasp information within seconds given the graphically oriented database. There are numerous templates, designs and case studies to help you compile your information in the best way possible. The customer support is excellent and there are tons of tutorials on their Medium blog and on YouTube to help you get the most out of this product. It is fully customizeable for the info and layout you wish to maintain. The pricing is reasonable and the standard free version has great functionality.

Cons: Although it is an awesome database, it is NOT a replacement for Excel for several functions. It resembles a spreadsheet, but you dont have full control over each cell, to format it as you wish. The formulas seem limited or more complicated in comparison to a traditional spreadsheet. You can' truly link databases or info between or within tables freely. Manipulating numbers becomes a bit awkward in some circumstances. However, these limitations may possibly improve with time and future upgrades. The more you understand how the software works, you may discover different ways to accomplish your functions on this new platform.

Pros: Airtable is, quite simply, my single favorite piece of software that I use. It's just as easy to use as a spreadsheet, but infinitely more powerful. It's intuitive to figure out and incredibly flexible. I can use it both to create powerful relational databases but also often use the mobile format to create tables which work more like apps. There are many different views, all of them useful, and it's easy to switch back and forth when needed. I love Airtable.

Cons: I wish more of the views were available on the mobile version. While it's still plenty powerful using only the default view, I'd really love the mobile version to support the calendar and kanban views in particular. The functions are also not as extensive as in spreadsheets or other database programs. I'd love to have the ability to choose one "block" (plug-in) for each free table, as Trello allows free users to do.

Overall: I use Airtable frequently both personally and professionally. It's an easy system for organizing anything that involves digital attachments, so it has a wide range of applications in my job in educational assessment. I also love using it to build mini-mobile apps for personal projects -- I've used Airtable to build "apps" which worked flawlessly for buying a car and for managing my Fantasy Football drafts in real-time. I'd previously tried doing the same in spreadsheets but Airtable worked much better for things that needed to be edited on-the-fly such as a live draft.

Pros: What can I say? I love Airtable a whole lot. I've been able to use Airtable to reorganize the way that we keep track of things at work, in a way that makes sense to others and also makes the information more efficient. The addition of an easy-to-use relational database to the traditional spreadsheet format means I can tell my users "It's just like Excel!" when in fact it's way more powerful than Excel for establishing those relationships between things. We now track a huge number of things in Airtable that, had we used a traditional spreadsheet for, would lead to a lot of duplication of information and would leave us prone to errors. Plus, as my coworker likes to say, it's pretty.

Cons: The free version doesn't come with blocks or record coloring. I have both a Pro workspace and a Personal (free) workspace, and I'm always a little sad that I don't get my Pro benefits on all of my Airtables.

Overall: Better organization and tracking, easing folks into the concept of a relational database

Pros: It is so malleable that I can do almost everything with it. I used to spend every single day trying to make static spreadsheets do what I needed, and instead, I now can build full, robust databases complete with team interaction and approvals. The Airtable team takes great care to make all updates meaningful for their users and are great at communicating updates as they come out.

Cons: If you don't have a mind for if-then-or-that or boolean logic, it can be a little difficult to work up to using this product to its full potential. This can make it difficult to onboard new team member or get buy-in on using it across the entire organization.

Overall: I recommend this product to everyone for both professional and personal use. Most large, out-of-the-box systems built to help with project management are too rigid to be used effectively with small or unique teams structures. This eliminates that problem and let's you build exactly what you need from the ground up.

Pros: - Elegant UI design

- Intuitive UX (user experience) design

- Flexible and adaptable to nearly any workflow

- Collaboration with team members

- It's free

Cons: - The collaboration is great but could be improved with chat/conversations that operate more like Google Docs comments

Overall: Airable can be hard to wrap your head around at first. Is it spreadsheet software? Project management software? A visual relational database tool? An Evernote or Trello replacement?

Yes. To all of that. Sort of.

Visually, Airtable resembles spreadsheet software, with columns and rows of sortable data. But you can't crunch numbers or produce quarterly earnings statements with Airtable. Airtable is a database management tool, so you can use it to manage anything you would put in a database. But because of the visually-oriented approach Airtable takes, that means go way beyond organizing contacts or saving recipes.

I currently use Airtable to:

- manage a year long project with multiple sub-projects and team members who collaborate via Airtable

- keep track of home projects, including reference imagery and shopping lists for each project

- organize donors to my non-profit project, including reminders of when I should get in touch with people and how they contributed to the project

- catalogue home design and architectural inspiration

Like Trello and Evernote, the possibilities of Airtable expand the more you use it. It's elegantly designed, ruggedly engineered and fun to use.

Pros: I've organized a lot of stuff on Airtable and it's a joy to use. The software has a 'wow' factor that's some magic combination of great design and powerful tech. Once I tried Airtable I started thinking "hey - maybe I could make a database for THIS too!". I was actually having FUN making databases. How is that possible?

Cons: At some point, I'll reach my limit of 1000 records on the free Airtable plan. I don't look forward to that day. There are many cool integrations and blocks that exist on Airtable's paid tiers, but there are only so many subscriptions one man can afford.

Overall: I've used Airtable to organize everything from an Art Gallery's show schedule and submission process to a musician calendar and press-promotion database. It's one Gumby of a tool - able to bend to my will and limited (mostly) only by my imagination.

It's hard to understand the power of relational databases until you've used one. Think of it as multiple Excel Spreadsheets that can talk to each other. The problem in the past has been how HARD it is to build and maintain a relational database. I've likely lost a month of my life to Microsoft Access frustrations. Airtable is just SO much easier and more enjoyable to use. It's not just a better database tool for database users. It's a database that can be used by someone who never thought she'd use a database.

Pros: This platform always gives us the ability to handle any content. I use this to manage workload in my team, as well as to manage content and manage individual projects. We assume that with this program we have everything we need for productive work. I like that I can store very detailed records with complex formulas in one table, with a simple to do list. The free version of the program is simply stunning and loaded with features. Many people, perhaps, never need an update. Even for updating prices for all are very small and convenient. I would recommend starting with a free level and configuring a few free templates to get an idea of ¿¿the features before moving on to your own data. I think this is a simple product for adaptation, and if you understand the various social networking platforms for business, then this program is perfectly suited.

Cons: I would like the program to have a faster speed. It will be better to make our tracking faster. Typically, the software is useful and a great helper. I personally would wish that their layout, font and appearance could be a little more customizable.

Pros: Airtable allows you to create databases for all occasions. With it, you can easily structure the list of business contacts, your own ideas, a selection of your favorite films, a personal electronic library and much more. For the convenience and structuring of information, you can create, for example, several tables and link them. Another important and useful function of Airtable is the ability to share your databases with friends. Thanks to this chip, you can run a family budget, advise each other which films to watch, or plan global events together. Separately I want to say about the search system records. It becomes a strategically important function when the number of lines in the table exceeds at least a hundred. Find the information you need for a certain word or even a part of it or sort the records by some criterion, for example, according to the genre of the movie. First of all, Airtable is an organizer for me. It saves me time and keeps my data. All the information on projects, stakeholders, finance, curriculum and so on in one place!

Cons: To use Airtable is both easy and difficult. On the one hand, because of a large number of options available, it is difficult to understand at first, on the other hand, the interface is so intuitive that many functions are immediately understandable. In addition, if you still could not figure out something yourself, then video lessons and animated tips are at your service.

Comments: Airtable is a powerful tool, much more so than Excel or Google Sheets, and much more elegant than Smartsheets. That being said, the cost is prohibitive for some to take full advantage. Thankfully, the free version is sufficiently functional to still win out over the competitors.

Pros: Airtable makes the chore of spreadsheet work so much easier and more enjoyable. It offers colored options, icons (stars, etc.), simplified and powerful formulas, a variety of organizational views (grids, kanban, etc.), and highly customizable views for sharing. The ability to track row histories and communicate with colleagues is a huge plus as well.

Cons: Airtable is powerful, and certainly worth a financial investment, but the current pay scale per user (and how it defines users ¿ anyone with access) is too costly for many smaller organizations, especially non-profits.

Airtable is very easy to use and offers a pretty sophisticated alternative to general spreadsheets.

Pros: This software is basically free and extremely easy to use and set up. It's also so simple to share data tables through links to the table or downloadable .csv's. You can add new people to collaborate in many ways, and it is completely accessible online (desktop or phone/tablet). It's so easy to create multiple select choices, add documents and photos, rearrange tabs, create surveys that populate the spreadsheet. It's just very useful.

Cons: The two features I don't like is the lack of .pdf creation for the tables so that they appear just like they do online. I want my photos to be there just as they look in the individual views. The second is the new charge they added just to have photos or headings in your survey. It's very expensive the fee price and yet a much needed addition. I can't have a survey in each base with photos without upgrading each base to get that privilege.

Overall: In the cloud access that everyone on my team can use.

Pros: The ability to establish different views is the most powerful feature of this relational database software. We track our donations to our non-profit using Airtable. We are able to easily group, sort, and filter our donations by fiscal year, amount, who made the donation, etc. We are then able to set up the fields needed to make sure that they were appropriately sent a thank you note. Airtable bases are able to organize our departments better than they ever have been before.

Cons: There is a slight learning curve with Airtable, but that could be expected with any new software system. In my experience, once our team caught onto Airtable fundamentals, they were good to go and saw the enormous power and simplicity of AirTable--looks like a spreadsheet, but acts like a database.

Overall: We are switching over many of our functions to Airtable. We are planning on moving over our donor management to Airtable, and program management to Airtable.

Pros: Airtable is so easy to use that it is extremely easy to train our volunteers when they need to use it. It is so much easier to create spreadsheets with useful functions than to create actual spreadsheets on Excel or Google Sheets. Extremely easy to create new views, evaluate data, create reports to distribute, to create forms, to import data, to integrate with other apps, to use on our computers, tablets and smartphones.

Cons: Can't really think of any. Every time we have a problem, it is resolved.

Overall: We use Airtable for our nonprofit organization that provides new beds and bedding for children and their families who are sleeping on the floor or other unsafe, unsanitary or inadequate places. We use Airtable to organize our Requests for Assistance and Bed Orders as well as social media, Fundraising, Events or any other things we needs help for. It is very easy to teach our volunteers how to use Airtable or add forms. It has been incredibly useful in evaluating our data to make reports for our Donors.

Pros: This software houses everything I need. I use it to track my bills and finances, to house my workflow both at work and at home. To communicate quickly and easily with my co-workers and also as a resource for all the volunteer work I do. As a mom of a child with special needs, and a busy working mom too, everything can get very muddled and out of sync. Airtable lets me keep it all together and helps me not to miss all the little details that keep my days running.

Cons: I wish there were more templates for household things, but for the most part, I can create anything I need within the airtable system.

Overall: Airtable overall is hands down the best resource I have at my fingertips. I couldn't ask for a more versatile software.

Pros: This is so simple to use that you can be operational in literally minutes and yet it has the power of a relational database. The customer service is exceptional in my opinion because you can get a personal response within a day.

Cons: It does have some limitations, esp. in the area of printed reports. I believe they have a new feature to address this but I haven't tried it yet. I would also like to be able to secure various tables that contain sensitive info and so far I haven't been able to do that.

Overall: Our investment business has grown at an exponential rate and I needed infrastructure to handle it. The problem was that I was so busy handling the increased business that I didn't have time to figure out the structure of a database, find someone to build it and hope that it covered everything, esp. since we were changing our business terms as new information came in. With Airtable, I could quickly build a relational database to house info & test structure

Pros: The flexbility of Airtable is unparalleled. No workflow software I have seen offers the kind of flexibility Airtable does. Users can design the exact workflow they are looking for and visualize it in the way they prefer (Kanban, calendar, spreadsheet etc). It takes the best of Excel, Google Sheets, Trello, Google Calendar and more and melds them together perfectly. I've used Airtable for things as different as keeping inventory and managing a blog calendar.

Cons: The most difficult part of Airtable is the learning curve is very sweet. Because it's a swiss-army knife, it is difficult to get started and get the best out of the tool in the beginning. While their are lots of templates and the like offered through Airtable Universe, they only become useful once you develop familiarity with the software overall and the tools and functionalities it is.

Overall: Airtable enabled me to centralise several workflows for my business in one piece of sofwtware - from inventory tracking to a blog content calendar. It became the workflow hub of my business.

Pros: It's a database base management tool in the cloud. Different, but I like it. It would be cool to see more integrations besides Zapier, but overall it's very flexible platform. I love the case study's and the way they get you thinking on the possibilities. They have a promising future of helping small businesses solve problems.

Cons: The subscription model blows. I can't share a database without having to add a user. This erks me. I should be able to share databases with outside collegues without having to pay for each user. A bit pricey on the per user level. They should have two plans, and gear them towards different audiences.

Also, add a find and replace button, PLEase!

Overall: It can address lots of business needs. Very flexible, and very well built. They are an incredible team, you can tell they are focused on the customer, and building something that is unparalleled, there is nothing like them.

Pros: I like how adaptable it is. Even if in some instances I can't accomplish what I need to for my communications workflow, I can at the very least get close. It's very efficient, very easy to learn, and the PRO version is exceptionally well priced for what you get.

Cons: The enterprise level is too expensive and the vast difference in payout is doesn't compensate for the additional features. There are some workflow pieces that still need work. Some of the table linking features can be improved. I'd live to see the long text boxes include features like "Bold" and "Italics". I'd also like to be able to export data to multiple file formats. These are not complaints, because I truly love the product. These are simply suggestions that I've noticed during my own implementation.

1 complaint though: Please update tutorial videos and information to account for updates in the product.

Overall: It's been great. Completely revolutionized a communications workflow for a company that employs 200+ and communicates to over a million people on a monthly basis.

Pros: I run a nonprofit law firm and Airtable has made us exponentially more productive.

We have a base for fundraising where we input donors, and then input their donations as they occur. Airtable tracks donations by date, and also by donor, which makes sending end of year donation letters a breeze.

We also have a base for our client list that we can use to check for conflicts. Where we used to have to manually input client information into a spreadsheet, we now have them fill out a form that sends everything to the client base. This has cut down on time spend doing administrative tasks drastically, and also eliminated our need for many paper forms. Customizing the form feature is a paid service, and one that we didn't think twice about upgrading for. As a nonprofit (and one that lives on a tight budget), I think this is saying a lot. But the monthly fee is well worth it.

Not only is Airtable easy to use, but it's also visually appealing.

Ease, ease, ease.

Pros: We use Airtable for a variety of uses at our organization. The primary use is intaking wholesale orders and organizing PO's and delivery schedules around these orders. Having found QB Online to not have the management and layout capabilities we need and not quite ready to invest in costly management software, Airtable has been a great tool to quickly and easily manage our rapidly changing information.

Another use has been to manage vendor site visits using the form view. Our vendor assessor really likes the ease of use in creating forms and then entering data into a form versus in the main base. The ability to incorporate pictures and documents has been very helpful as well.

The tutorials and templates have been very helpful when we first set bases and junctions tables.

Cons: While much better than Excel or Google Sheets, it would be nice to have some of their features (multiple line pasting, the ability to use different formula's within a field).

Pros: I like this platform because we can work more on individual projects and the whole group of styles. It is very convenient that I can easily edit, comment and collaborate on the Internet using our mobile and desktop applications. The program gives us the best way to communicate with customers. In addition, we can cooperate and work together on one idea or topic that is really productive. With this platform, we have strong support, which constantly gives us the opportunity to process any content.

Cons: I would like the program to work a little faster, I feel that the program is in no hurry. It was a little difficult to learn how to use the program, but it is about the same as launching any other new software. There are problems with formatting, sometimes it is impossible to link databases.

Pros: It's so easy to set this up either by using one of the many templates available or by setting it up yourself. It looks good, it works over the web so it always up to date, can be accessed on the mobile on the go and is actively being developed. Lots of different view types available too. I wouldn't be without it.

Cons: It doesn't allow interaction between bases. As in, if you want to use one database for all your contacts but you have several discrete elements to your business which for practical reasons are best run in separate bases you have to use Zapier to do it..

Overall: It helps me manage aspects of my business not dealt with in other systems. I have tried paper systems and other software including full databases and spreadsheets. Nothing came close to the flexibility and ease of set up and use as Airtable.

Pros: Beautiful UI and very intuitive. The Grouping, Sorting, Filtering options are extremely easy to use and once you experiment, become handier and handier. Also, being able to save different views and share links to those views are extremely useful.

Cons: In Airtable, you create "bases". The Tables/Records within a Base interact pretty well, but there currently isn't a function that allows deep-linking or references between other bases. Essentially, this makes it unusable for medium-sized teams or anyone that works with different departments. The free version is good but only a few of the features of the upgrade are important, so it's not worth the high monthly/yearly price.

Overall: I was able to enter data for 50+ clients, which gives me a global view that isn't available in Salesforce.

Pros: This is a great product to help manage social media posts for different platforms, and for keeping organized when planning. We can keep all of the information is one place, and then add where it should all go, and add dates to it. It is great for content management.

Cons: Some things that can be challenging with this software is that some of our older users have a harder time navigating the software. They need something a little more straight forward, where this program has more going on. We have needed to talk our older users through it a few times.

Overall: This software is great for content management. It keeps our team organized. We can add content and then put dates on when it needs to go out. We also use different seeds for different social media platforms, we can house all of those seeds in the software.

Pros: Updates or changes happen in Airtable in real time making team collaboration easier. Unlike static spreadsheet tools, Airtable can be used to easily to create multiple views that can be shared to non Airtable users or even embedded. It also has forms built in and can easily be used for data collection or as a bug tracking tool. The example templates provided are quite helpful, with pre populated data, making it easy to pick up. It also allows for easy csv importing/exporting.

Cons: On the mobile version checking items off a list takes two clicks instead of one.

Pros: Best combination of ease of use and power features I think I've ever experienced in one product. Love the ability to connect tables using many-many relationships, views, view types, forms, and so on. Blocks are still few but also easy to use and powerful and looking forward to new ones in the future.

Cons: The cost for pro. I end up creating two workspaces for work projects - free and paid - and give everyone but a few power users read-only access to the paid workspace. price/user is too steep!

Overall: We use it for everything from decision making, to product feature roadmaps, to business rules builder for software features, CRM, issue tracker, to team contact list and calendar. So many uses and we keep adding more. It actually makes dealing with data and large sets of information FUN!

Pros: It starts off free and you get a lot for that! I have a small but quite complicated business so being able to set up tables that are straightforward, easy to use and that deliver 90% of what I need is terrific. The views are well thought out, setting up formulas is easy and in the main it has been well thought out.

Although I work mostly on my own, I can see how the team functionality would be really useful if I needed it.

Cons: This software feels very much as though it is a victim of its own success. There are several key features, like linking bases, offline access and dynamic sorting that really need attention but with the addition of its integration with Zapier you can probably get it to do an awful lot of what you do.

Overall: I was able to organise and manage multiple aspects of my business without having to resort to clunky yet restrictive software solutions or multiple spreadsheets. The tables work well.

Pros: Pricing - free for 2gb of storage and generous database entries limits. great for small projects!

Integration - they make it super easy to integrate with project management software (I use Asana) and cloud storage (flawless with google drive).

Collaboration - It's a breeze, you can add people to your sheets quickly and easily, as well as set user permissions to control who can do what with your data. We personally use it in our business to maintain the server records of our clients in tandem with our dev team.

Cons: I am probably in the minority here, but i do wish there was a Linux app for the desktop client.

Overall: Initially, we used Airtable to help facilitate our server migration as a combo of project management and data record storage.

We now utilize it to keep track of our client's server information that we share with our team for collaboration between members of the dev team.

Pros: I am an editor and I came to Airtable looking for a solution to collect story ideas in a visual and easily-searchable database. Airtable delivered on that promise--and more! As I explored the software more, I discovered that it's perfect for tracking the progress of each issue, and keeping me and my team accountable for their own deadlines. I also love that I can have emoji display in my deadline functions to drive home the point!

Cons: At first I was overwhelmed by all of the options. Staring at a blank screen can be intimidating. But as I learned the platform better, I was often surprised by its capabilities.

Overall: Aritable is integral in helping me manage the editorial workflows for my magazine from start to finish. I have bases for story ideas, editorial calendars, billing, online metadata tagging, and more. It has helped me an my team keep track of our own accountability. I love it!

Pros: The formulas are easy to implement and understand- I don't have to worry about keeping Excel formulas memorized!

Cons: As a small business owner, paying monthly for services adds up! But Airtable is very much worth it.

Overall: I'll be honest: I totally pooh-poohed Airtable when a friend was raving about it. I'm an old-school Excel nerd who wanted her stuff for her business in the cloud but didn't want Office 365, so I was using a band-aid in the name of Google Drive.

I finally tried Airtable on a whim, and...

I've pretty much moved all my spreadsheets and tables for my business from Excel and Google Drive (and a clunky CRM) and have moved them all to Airtable! I've recommended Airtable to many folks and I love seeing the transformation that they have when they discover what they can do with this platform.

Pros: I LOVE the mobile app, the desktop app, the ease of use and simple interface. Airtable has changed the way I organize not only my data, but also my life! I use it for a cleaning tracker, price and expense tracker at home, and an asset tracker at work.

Cons: I wish there was a way to somehow integrate a repeating function for tasks. I realize this is mostly a database and not a project management tool, but it would definitely close the loop for me and really rid me of any reason to use anything else for organization.

Pros: I like that it's so intuitive. If you can use a spreadsheet software, like MS Excel, then you can use Airtable. It's very user friendly and their support documentation is stellar. The fact that you can keep track of so much information and still have an user-friendly interface is incredible!

Switching between spreadsheet and calendar views has been very helpful for me to keep track of client follow-ups. I also have used an integration with IFTTT to have my client follow-ups automatically get added to my Google Calendar!

Airtable has allowed me to digitize all of my client records and keep track of all of their ever-changing information with ease. It's been a true time-saver and I'm working to get everyone on my team using it!

Cons: The only con I have encountered is that it's entirely web-based. If the internet goes down, I can't access my database on my computer. However, their mobile app is good, so I can still get at my information that way.

Overall: I've been able to easily organize information about clients and track follow-ups. It's like a combination between a spreadsheet, a project management software, a database and a calendar, but it's EASY to use so it's not intimidating or confusing.

Pros: I use Excel spreadsheet everyday for work and for my personal life. Since I changed to Airtable, I never looked back. I love how my data is better presented. I can attach photos and even files in the table. The best thing is the 'View' function. For the same set of data, I can create different views for different needs. It's also great for team collabrating. I can also connect with Zapier to automate my workflow.

Cons: I really don't have much negative things to say about Airtable. It pretty much fills all my needs. It's a great product with constant improvement.

Overall: It makes my spreadsheet looking fantastic and add on lots of modern features: collaboration, automation etc.

Pros: Airtable combines the reporting features of a spreadsheet with the performance of a multi-layer database. Easy to understand for every user, super customisable fields and views and many add-ons made me decide to replace other tools with Airtable.

Overall: Reporting and collaboration efficiency, good user experience across the organisation due to it's self-explanatory user interface.

Airtable was performant and straight-forward since its first version and adds more and better features with every upgrade, thanks to intense feedback gathering from its user community.

Pros: As spreadsheet nerds, Airtable has been so exciting to learn and implement. It has been an absolute game-changer for our organization. The software is incredibly easy to use and offers so many fantastic features. We are only using this as a grants database for now but will implement a tasks pipeline using the Kanban view shortly. The features available to us have been so helpful, many of which we didn't even know we would enjoy so much. The ability to sort, group and filter with just 2 clicks has been amazing. We have also enjoyed having the ability to share the workspace with others while keeping the screen on different views for each person. The ability to link columns to other tabs has been extremely helpful - it wasn't a feature we thought we would need until we tried it. The price is great for its many features and it makes this a real possibility for any business, especially nonprofit organizations of any size with any budget. We are really happy with Airtable.

Cons: I do wish Airtable had the ability to export to Excel as well as the ability to adjust the height of rows. Those are my only two suggestions.

Pros: A better excel. You can set types for different columns. API available. You can write script to update data. You can even use IFTTT to insert records (but the string format is a little bit confusing). Easy to upload attachments. Kanban mode / Calendar mode. You can easily filter records with your own rules. Free version can have up to 1200 records which is enough for me now. but thinking about upgrade in the future.

Cons: It is not able to plot figures or charts at this moment. NO API for sorting records so I have to sort it every time. I didn't find a easy way to back up all base with attachments.

Overall: it is a great tool to collect/organize formatted data.

Pros: Airtable is simple to use, flexible in its functionality, and allows us to use the system for a variety of different facets of our business.

Cons: Airtable is constantly improving, there are some things missing, but luckily we have the ability to custom code what we don¿t have in field functionality.

The major thing I would love to see is something to help search for duplicate records.

Overall: We are currently using Airtable for nearly EVERYTHING in our business. We plan 300+ events a year and run everything from Airtable.

Pros: The interface is intuitive and easy to learn, which is crucial for our organization as we rely on senior citizen volunteers for collecting and entering information and data. We can then sort and view the information in ways we never could with simple spreadsheets.

Cons: There are a few minor quirks, but overall we've been very pleased with Airtable.

Overall: After 30+ years of disjointed and segment collections of information, we were searching for a way to bring order to the chaos. Airtable has enabled us to easily collect, organize, and share tons of information for our non-profit organization, including 200+ volunteers, 60+ seasonal events, hundreds of supporting businesses and organizations, and thousands of patrons.

Pros: It's incredibly easy to use, bordering on fun to use (massive statement for a database application). It's easy to share and easy to publish. I can fiddle around with it forever and continuously find new and interesting applications for the tool across many projects in my life in and outside of work.

Cons: For what I'm using it for, it's pretty perfect. I can foresee it being improved with strong built-in data analytics and a more robust kanban implementation. They just improved the calendar view, but it's still pretty restrictive. I haven't tried using it at enterprise scale (100s or 1000s of records) but I'm not confident it would be great for very large teams working with very large amounts of data.

Overall: Organizing information relationally and being able to sort/filter/visualize/share it flexibly and easily. All day, every day.

Pros: I love the fact that it can be converted into a project management/ticketing system.

I can link tickets from multiple tabs , I can upload my design files in each ticket. There's an editing history, comments, tagging. There are tons of views from Kanban to Calendar to Gallery to List view. You can filter and organize everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!

It has made my life so much easier.

Oh and it integrates with Slack so I get notified whenever anyone edits my tickets!

Cons: It was a bit hard to learn in the beginning, but once I got the hang of it..

Also, would love to add some more options as field types.

Overall: Airtable is helping my team with time management, task assignment and organizing all of our campaigns and files in one platform.

You can track every little detail in the task and know who is doing what, when.

Pros: I love being able to switch views on projects. I do a lot of event planning and scheduling of classes, and being able to switch to calendar to grid, to boards, and back again makes my process so much easier. Being able to link to different tables is also wonderful.

However, the feature that sold me on airtable is being able to tag/categorize things with multiple tags. I used airtable for an extensive project evaluating and reviewing educational resources, and I was able to quickly and easily set up a spreadsheet that answered all of my questions and made it easy for me and my team to evaluate our shortlist.

Cons: The BIGGEST change I would like to see is ability to archive in accordance with state/federal record keeping standards. I might be missing something, but this is the thing that keeps me from sharing as widely with people in my field. If it is possible, it would be nice to have it spelled out on the FAQs to show administrators.

Overall: ALLL HEART EYES. I use it for both personal use and work. I manage my schedules, I keep track of favorite recipes, I use it to take ideas for events from brainstorm to completion. It's literally my favorite thing right now.

Pros: Simple and intuitive to use. I had the basic design for my CRM completed in minutes. Linking tables and adding fields as my needs evolved was also a breeze. I was able to simplify a lot of my work processes into simple data entry with the help of Airtable. The help documentation is useful for brainstorming new ways of organizing my data.

Cons: Some formatting, such as changing how a date is displayed, requires specific knowledge of formulas. I feel like there could be an easier way for this to be built in as an option.

Overall: There's so many integrations I am not even using yet, but I can see so many possibilities for automation down the line! Airtable is also highly affordable for my small non-profit organization.

Pros: Easy to upload data directly into the system. Once uploaded, the various field types, plus a strong API documentation section for each base make it easy to get going. Our team has been able to work through systems enhancements and trial out new field types quickly and with minimal disruption.

The example bases have been interesting to browse as we look for new data points to track in Airtable, and collaboration tools and commenting allow for us to keep each other updated on relevant changes to our system in near real-time. I am really excited to see where the roadmap for product development takes this tool moving forward.

Cons: Limited audit trail info on the free plan as well as bulk-update support (beta features may allow for this down the line for paid users).

Pros: I LOOOOVE the way everything is organized. Obviously, the designers work in close relationship with the app engineers because everything is really intuitive. The best part are templates, which helps you to understand the product. We have built an entire company CRM there, just with a usage of one template.

Cons: You can not link between the bases, which makes it little bit complicated. We had to duplicate some tables for this reason and it got a little messy.

Pros: What really made me want to use Airtable was its calendar view that I can see when scheduling out blog posts. As the content writer at my company, sometimes schedules can get changed and Airtable's views make it easy for me to re-arrange when certain posts will be scheduled. I can also add as many details and color-coordinating as I want to further classify and organize my stuff.

Cons: The customer service isn't very quick at responding - I tried calling before and got voicemail each time, and emails take a few days to respond. Also some of their functions are sometimes a bit confusing to understand and when I can't easily contact someone to figure it out, it makes it difficult to further understand functionalities that I probably could be using but am not.

Pros: Ease of use, sharing capabilities, remote access and much more! Airtable has allowed our organization to virtually go paperless, which has been a goal for a long time. Large teams can collaborate on a project and have instant access to the same information. We use it for tracking class enrollment, storing customer data, organizing and tracking marketing data and plans, staff schedules - plus so much more! Airtable has truly been an amazing addition to our organization and we recommend it to anyone looking for a user friendly data solution.

Cons: We would like to be able to add headers and footers to tables before printing, currently we export to csv to add this info, it is not ideal, but it works. We also would utilize an end date field (for, in our case, noting date ranges for classes that run weekly for a span of time). We have heard that this feature is going into BETA though, so we hope to see that as an option soon. The phone app is a bit limited in features, for instance linking to other tables, but we can also work around this and usually are working desktop versions anyway.

Pros: Great 1-1 Support Options + Use Cases on Blog

Really Active and Helpful forum and 3rd party developers

Database for dummies type help text

Strong suite of options and continual development

Cons: No Print or View Mode that allows formatting of entries on a PDF or web interface

No granular permissions control

Can't write math formulas in cells directly, need to have multiple columns and then sum/multiply them.

Overall: Like many new internet SaaS apps, Airtable is intensely focused on delivering a clean and focused user experience. This means that features take a while to get rolled out and it is not even on par with google sheets or other spreadsheets like smartsheets. However, it is a database and it does some pretty cool things. It's also free for most users who don't need a lot of storage space on the system and have databases with fewer than 1200 records each.

For us, it's great for staying organized and has pushed us to keep better track of events and the costs associated with each of them. The form functionality is great for getting staff input in the field.

We look forward to seeing what they will add next!

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't be shy about getting on the forums and asking for help. Developers are also interested in helping you with your unique use case/will point to others who have done the same.

Pros: I like the ease of use and the many possibilities that you can use Airtable for. You can use this for personal or business, and there are many prebuilt templates that you can get started with, so that's really helpful! You can collaborate with other team members on projects or export a sheet for someone too.

Also, Ashton Kutcher is an investor, so it has to be good! :)

Cons: The bigger con... is this... When you invite someone to Airtable (and they give you a credit which you can apply to your account) even if you are on a free plan, and you invite someone and then invite them to share a sheet you are working on (even assuming they have set up an account of their own - even free) you get charged, monthly, per user you invite to collaborate. It's not very clear up front that you will be billed. I had invited someone to use Airtable, and invited them to collaborate on one base (one project/sheet) and gave them access to edit... they invited 2 more people from their team to collaborate on the same base, guess who got billed for that? I did!

Airtable should work that part out, if you only give someone read-only access you don't get billed, assuming you are on a free account, but you should be notified that will happen. Other than the billing part when inviting someone to use Airtable and inviting someone to collaborate on a base, I have no other complaints ... and I do use this for my business, it's been extremely helpful!

Cons: There are lots of tutorials and help videos, because, well, it needs them. The learning curve is steep. We need an in-house expert to make the most of it. I wish it had a more integration options with Zapier. Finally, with 10+ users, their paid product gets pricey fast. About 3x the cost of Slack.

Overall: We can make just about anything. Agile sprint planning, content calendaring, budgets, team management projects; they all belong here.

Pros: You can do lots with Airtable, and its pretty easy to navigate and figure out how to use the different features. I love how our master spreadsheet is also linked to our calendar. Also the various ways you can filter results, to really hone in on what needs to be done, or who needs to do what. Being able to expand a record and see the entire history of actions, and who did what and when is great. The templates provided really help give you a grasp on how to use when you jump into something new too.

Cons: A lot of times, after creating a new record, another new/blank record pops up that ends up taking up space. We're usually good about deleting the blanks right away, but it would be nice if that didn't happen so easily.

Also, it seems like when Im on Airtable, in a certain spreadsheet, and my co-worker is in it as well, that i see the same view she sees. Anything she does I see it happen live. So that can be distracting. Ideally I get my own view, and she gets hers, and we dont see eachother working/manipulating the sheet so much.

Airtable has made our project management a breeze. Transitioning from Trello was a no-brainer.

Pros: It's customizable, free (and when you need more, the prices are really reasonable), and a great way to manage a small team.

We have a number of bases doing different things and hooked up a few zaps to it to make things even quicker (recurring events, etc.). Overall, the daily operations of my business run on Airtable.

Cons: Definitely the biggest difficulty is some features that are missing (recurring events, etc.) that can be sorted through Zapier, but some native options would be much appreciated.

Other than that, leaving comments can sometimes be slightly confusing depending on who you are mentioning (it can sometimes seem that the person being notified is the one sending the message).

Pros: It seamlessly tracks all of our client records. It allows us to have a beautiful layout that anyone can follow. The filtering capabilities and various views really help move clients from one stage to the next. However, we use this platform for so many other areas of our business like project management, income/expenses, inventory management, etc. It's really cool, most of my contractors are converting to Airtable from Excel after viewing our workflows. Wish we got paid for this! :(

Cons: There are some features that could be easier to use. And some that Airtable just doesn't have. The one that stinks the most is not being able to merge records. And to be honest, some of the things we'd like to do is a bit complex. Therefore, just like Excel, a technician may be required for customization. You can't have it all, right?

Overall: Trackability, structure, detailed and flexible workflows, team accountability, detailed overviews, really cool metrics that are already 'added in'. Overall, our company is in much better shape after adding this tool to our arsenal. Just a great addition, period.

Pros: Airtable is great for creating a simple and flexible CRM that provides easy data entry and excellent automatic functions. Airtable has an overview that allows us to quickly collect data from people for any purpose. In addition, it has useful manuals and useful examples of Airtable users. There is a small learning curve to get the most out of it. For us, Airtable is well suited for management, event tracking and asset management. I can store all my data in one place no matter who I work with.

Cons: Very useful software that does not create problems with our workflow. All tools work well. With this software you will have a lot of wonderful work. You will see how fast.

Pros: I wanted to get away from the spreadsheets and get the functionality of a database without the hassle of microsoft. Airtable lets me organize just about ANYTHING in the most logical and simple of ways. I can't say enough about how much I love this platform and how much time it's helped me save. You can do anything from the most basic of project planning and organization to building your own custom CRM in under an hour.

Cons: I don't have any complaints. It's legitimately the best platform I've used for daily marketing and analysis tasks ever.

Pros: Airtable is very easy to use and everything you need is right in front of you. I like that I can store very detailed records with complex formulas in one table, with a simple to do list. Also, I can add/edit event data in any view, and have it populate to other views. This helps conceptualize program content and see any gaps or conflicts.

Cons: I would love to be able to group my bases inside a workspace by topic. Also I would like that the program worked a little faster, I have a feeling it never hurries anywhere.

Pros: It's Google Sheets/Excel meets Microsoft Access PLUS so much more. I love the base templates. I'm really into the functionality and ease of use. The Google Drive integration rocks. I love spreadsheets but my skills in creating databases have decreased over the years and I never loved Access, to be honest. With Airtable, I literally feel like if I dream it, it IS possible!!! Real time editing for your teams, sharing, uploading photos/content for social media. That doesn't even touch the tip of how I use this product!

Cons: The only con I can think of and I have reached out to the dev team to give my two cents...is that I wish the calendar view showed weekly and also a yearly view while also keeping the monthly and 2 week view options. Hopefully they'll get there! It would also be great to be able to have the first column of the base color coded if you so desired (this ties into the calendar view for me). So you would be able to do a sort by date, then see the color coding on the calendar for easy high level views.

Pros: If you need to collect data and make it easy to read and share with others, look no further. I use this software to budget, layout projects, keep track of project work, collaborate etc.

There is so much flexibility in how to present your data in the table.

The ability to create access for other is also extremely handy.

Cons: I would like the ability to create dashboards based on the information I have entered into an Airtable. For my purposes, this is not a have to have feature but it would be nice.

Pros: Actually one of the things I love the most about Airtable is their customer support. If you have common questions, there's an easy search function that will pull up related articles for you to try to problem-solve on your own. Beyond that, though, it's incredibly easy to get in touch with a real human being who understands user frustrations and helps you break down your issue and get to the root of it while offering helpful suggestions. What's even better is that if you have a specific issue or feature suggestion, they do actually consider it.

Cons: There's not a lot to dislike. There are some limitations, as there would be with any actively developing software, but Airtable does a great job of turning those limitations - when expressed to their staff - into considerations for developemtn and making them happen later down the line.

Pros: Very easy to learn, very handy features such as adding attachments to a row, history of updates & conversations recorded for each row, smart filters and views. We use it for all sorts of applications, from project management to simple lists

Cons: The levels of restriction can maybe be improved. It isn't very easy to create a ticketing system for instance, we have to dig through the templates and spend some time in customisation

Pros: The amount of customization that is possible with an Airtable base gives you an incredible amount of control and flexibility. There isn't anything you can't track and analyze with Airtable.

Pros: Airtable is easy to customize, easy to explain to non-techies, and has helped us graduate from confusing and fragile shared spreadsheets to a system we know we'll be able to share without endless fixes and tweaks. The ability to take in data from easy-to-use forms has been a great feature - volunteer film screeners add their film reviews without ever having to touch (or break) the underlying database.

Customer service has been excellent - very responsive and helpful.

Cons: It would be really helpful to have the ability to "unsort" records back to their original order. We found a workaround for this, so it's a small quibble. Otherwise, we're very happy with it so far.

Overall: More robust system for tracking submitted films through the review and selection process, and keeping a centralized record of submitted and selected films from year to year. We expect also to be able to use Airtable for 1) traffic management as we develop the festival program and 2) treating our invited filmmakers with kid gloves before, during, and after their visit to Sebastopol!

Pros: It is simple and easy to use. I describe it as an integrated turbo-charged version of GoogleSheets, SQL, and DropBox or Box. Of course, with customization you can put your whole entire project workflow and documents, task lists etc into AirTable and link them all. I love the point-and-click association and lookup feature reminiscent of relational databases.

Cons: It is quite expensive for the Pro version which is the version that you can add fancy blocks (or App-like features) to display and interact with the data. Many of the blocks make use advanced project management and decision-making that would suit big and complex projects but may be a bit overpowered for the smaller businesses and charities for the price. I would gladly pay a more reasonable price for limited blocks...

Overall: Helps me understand the structure of complex projects and aids in the execution and management of them for a technically minded person who is not a project manager but a researcher who needs to manage data and workflow.

Pros: Airtable makes it SO easy to create beautiful spreadsheets and database that are organised intelligently! Google Sheets has nothing on Airtable if you have any more complicated organisational needs. The ability to group "bases" by various criteria, to display in different views (Kanban view in particular), etc. make this SO powerful and useful for businesses trying to make their data more useful. We use it for product roadmaps, feature inventories, and conducting user research. It makes it so easy to extract the essential information we love it!

Cons: The paid plans are a little expensive for agencies, who may want to invite collaborators to only one or two bases. If you're on a paid plan every user is billed monthly if you want them to have edit capabilities, which means you could end up spending a lot of time managing user access so you aren't paying for a user for a year who only needs edit-access for a few weeks or so. I'd love to see a "collaborator" user type that allows someone access to 1 or 2 bases for a limited amount of time (e.g. auto-expire access after 1 month). Maybe you could pay a one-time fee each time you add this type of user, so Airtable gets paid but you don't have to worry about being billed indefinitely.

Overall: It makes it easier to organise information in ways that make sense to us and our clients.

Pros: Airtable was able to make databases a user friendly tool so that anyone can use them to organise as well as display and share any type of information. I use Airtable both in my personal life (organising product I buy or want to buy, travel, etc.) as well as in my professional activities for project management, CRM, or product listing. I have been particularly impressed by their gallery of use cases that transformed an initially intimidating product into a 1-click-ready solution for many needs. The evolution of the product with the introduction of new features such as their so called "blocks" to create graphical dashboard or other calendar views show that they are going well beyond the ambition of being a "beautiful database interface", and that is all to our benefit as users!

Cons: As of now, I have only discovered a fraction of the possibilities that Airtable offers and I did not find any cons to the product.

Pros: I really like how different tables can be linked together. The new blocks functionality that was added in March of 2018 adds new levels of complexity to the system. Overall this provides all of the necessary project management functions that my team needs, and will allow us to scale up as we grow.

Cons: The inability to connect bases is the only real downside that I have experienced so far. There is also a considerable amount of planning and frontend setup that needs to happen to get this working how you need it to. Once you do, it's a breeze.

Overall: Robust project management for in house marketing and advertising.

Pros: Ease of use. I was up and running in less than an hour. Staff that view the data in Airtable are duly impressed that I can easily create custom views for various groups to see only what they need. Linking tables quite simple and so useful! Sorting and filtering are amazing and could teach Excel a thing or two.

Rich Feature Set. I prefer databases to spreadsheets, and tend to complicate things. Airtable offers the best of both worlds.

Mobile app. I sat in a meeting and was asked a question about the data. I pulled out my smartphone and was able to answer questions immediately. (Translation: Airtable made me look good!)

Cons: Reporting: I would like to be able to add headers and footers to tables before printing, but truthfully, we don't do a lot of formal reports just printouts to check of against physical documents then toss them.

The reporting included is ease to use.

Overall: Easily managed and sharable database. Great visual tool.

Pros: I love a good spreadsheet and Airtable takes it to the next level with features that allow you to add rich context to cells, such as photos, maps, calendar tools, and more. Airtable cells themselves can expand into "cards" so that you can run a basic CRM in one sheet and visualize deal flow in another. Creating these detailed sheets can take some time so there's an abundance of templates Airtable offers to get you started. I love those and can't wait to keep learning all the things I can do in Airtable

Cons: The drawback to building such a complex and dynamic tool like Airtable is that you need to invest a bit of time to make the product fit your individual use cases and needs. Try not to get frustrated or pessimistic about Airtable's ability to help and push through the initial hurdles. The learning curve is worth the reward.

I use the program as a visual tracker for my website revision requests. I can tie my requests to the details about specific pages and see when I last updated a page.

Cons: I don't like the limits on the number of records per base, as I have some projects that I'd like to use this for that will far exceed the available records. Also, I wish that you could link between bases to develop a broader network of data

Pros: Loading your current data is as easy as cut and paste. The online help is superb, includes "moving screens" for better understanding and they provide good examples. The support team is excellent. They answer questions quickly and their communication skills are great. It's easy to figure out how to create different views and forms. The product is very affordable. I'm still on the free trial and the level of support I have received has greatly impressed me. I also recommend attending their webinars. I learned a lot from it.

Cons: I'd like to see some data validation: if a field is defined as phone, it shouldn't allow characters, etc. There should also be some cross validation, for example: this date can't be before this other date. Report generation is basically non existent. You mostly have to export your data into Excel and go from there. I have to generate mailing labels and I expect that won't be fun.

Pros: The ability to have powerful and meaningful database functionality online is awesome. The collaboration features make it incredibly easy to get your entire organization up and running with databases.

Cons: We find it hard to pinpoint a feature or policy that is detrimental to how we currently work. We are just now moving into a payment structure with Plus or Pro functionality. We have been able to streamline our approach to organization and data sharing in a way that we haven't been able to before.

Cons: What the software does, we love. We are looking forward to the addition of features that allow for greater permission-based data manipulation and other custom view options that will allow for the display of certain information in a specific format.

Pros: I love that you can have many formats to manage projects: lists, boards, anything you like. This makes it handy because different projects require different ways of management. Creative projects could use the more visual boards, while tech projects could stick to the list boards. Our project management definitely improved after using this!

Cons: It does get pricey pretty quick. For a big team the monthly cost skyrockets fast! Wish they had a cheaper option, because we have to now consolidate to one account.

Pros: 1) Free version is just too awesome and loaded with features. Many people might never need to upgrade . Even for upgradation , the pricing is very little and comfortable for anyone.

2) Ease of use is awesome though initially it may take a while to get a hang the complete software

3) They have apps everywhere from desktop to android and iPhone . All for free !

4) They have integrated almost every feature imaginable and unimaginable like CSV export, team collaboration , segregation and sub segregation of data , etc

Cons: It's very difficult to find cons with airtable. However, as I use it more and more, perhaps I will find a glitch I can point out. As of now , it seems chances of that happening are very dim :) .
