I am extremely happy with PayHOA in the services that include a website builder, resident messaging board, notifications links via email and text, and the ability to address maintenance issues and concerns in real time.

Pros

The ease of integration with our existing data and banking network. Also, the online training tools and personal training opportunities provided Board members with a thorough understanding of the product.

Cons

We are just ending our trial period and so far there is nothing about the product that I have identified as not being useful.

Overall: strong functional depth and fair pricing, held back by an interface that needs real UX investment, especially in navigation clarity.

Pros

It handles accounting, communications, architectural review, and document management in one place, and the pricing is fair relative to the feature set — we didn't feel we were paying for bloat or missing critical tools.

Cons

Where PayHOA falls short is usability. As someone with a software development background, I've found the interface non-intuitive, particularly around menu naming — labels often don't clearly reflect the function behind them. This isn't just a personal nitpick: I regularly field questions from other board members who can't find how to complete basic tasks because the navigation doesn't guide them there. Other platforms we looked at made this kind of navigation feel a lot more natural. The other weak spot is the website builder. It's currently bare-bones — functional enough that we're still using it but it is limited enough that we're actively considering moving that piece to WordPress or another dedicated service.

Reasons for choosing PayHOA

The feature set was the most comprehensive. Payment fees are seamlessly passed through to the paying homeowner, with no extra setup or manual tracking needed on our end.

Each time I have used it, it has been easy to maneuver around. Since I am not a board member, I have not used all the features but I do think it is a good HOA management product.

Pros

I am a homeowner who has recently been added to help with administration of our HOA. Ease of use is what I appreciate most.

Cons

I have not used it enough to comment on what I like least. So far everything I have accessed has been pretty easy to find and use.

Pros

Features cover needs for an HOA with great and fast customer support. Get responses from chat support requests very quickly. Has the most complete suite of features for the price compared to other leading HOA management sites. We have used for several years and will continue!

Cons

The name is awkward, almost a tongue twister. Fine for the company name, but website should have a more user friendly name and without the "pay" part. Maybe website for owners could be OurHOA, or something. That way referring to the service would be easier.

Overall, it has been a solid experience. It is very affordable as well, which is much-appreciated. We stopped using a property management company and brought everything in house, and PayHOA has made that a pretty seamless transition.

Pros

It provides an easy-to-use and streamlined platform that allows me to manage my homeowner's association. It helps with bookkeeping, keeping up with maintenance requests, mass communication, and sending out invoices/collecting payments.

Cons

It can be a little finicky from time to time. Sometimes information is presented in slightly broken ways (information overlapping each other in the Units section for example). I think the bookkeeping tools are mostly easy to use, but I wish I could customize (add/remove) categories for the bank transactions. If there is a way to do so, I can't figure it out, so it could probably stand to be a little easier.

Pay HOA has completely simplified how we run our community. Everything lives in one place — no more bouncing between spreadsheets, emails, and separate tools. The dashboard is clean and easy to use, even for board members or homeowners who aren't tech-savvy. Homeowners love the flexibility to pay online, whether it's a single payment or setting up automatic recurring payments — it's cut down on late payments and back-and-forth reminders. Pay HOA also handles our tax filing, which has been a huge relief and saved us hours of work. On top of that, we can track homeowner projects right in the platform, so nothing falls through the cracks. Overall, it's made running our HOA so much smoother. Highly recommend it to any community looking to simplify their operations.

Pros

Pay HOA has been a game-changer for managing our HOA. It keeps everything in one place — no more juggling spreadsheets, emails, and separate tools. The dashboard is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, even for board members who aren't tech-savvy. Highly recommend for any community looking to simplify HOA management.

Cons

I don't have any complains. Overall, Pay HOA has made running our HOA feel manageable instead of overwhelming. It's intuitive, comprehensive, and has genuinely improved how our board operates day to day. I'd recommend it without hesitation to any community association looking to simplify their operations.

Pros

Great onboarding support and intuitive dashboard. Ease of use for residents for setting up auto-pay for HOA dues.

Cons

When importing users coming from a spreadsheet, some issues are faced if the fields don't match template and manual adjustments is required. Would be nice to have auto-format.

My overall experience with PayHOA has been very positive. As a self-managed HOA, we needed a system that would help the board stay organized without making the process overly complicated. PayHOA has given us a central place to manage homeowner accounts, payments, communications, documents, and association records. It has also made it easier for homeowners to access their own information and make payments online. There was a learning curve in the beginning, and a few areas could be more customizable, but once everything was set up, the platform became an important part of how we manage the association.

Pros

PayHOA gives our board one place to manage most of the day-to-day work of the association. We can track homeowner accounts and payments, maintain owner information, communicate with residents, store documents, and keep better records without having to use several different systems. I especially like that homeowners can log in and see their own account information and make payments online. It has made managing a self-managed HOA much easier and gives the board better access to the information we need.

Cons

Some areas could be more intuitive, especially when you are first setting up the community or trying to find a specific report or function. There are also places where I would like more flexibility in customizing reports, notices, and association workflows. Once you learn where everything is, it works well, but certain tasks take more clicks than I would expect.

Reasons for choosing PayHOA

PayHOA offered the best combination of features, ease of use, and value for a self-managed HOA. It gave us the tools we needed for homeowner accounts, online payments, communications, property records, violations, documents, and financial tracking in one platform. We also found the homeowner portal straightforward to use, which was important because we wanted residents to be able to access their own account information without having to contact the board for routine questions. Compared with the other products we considered, PayHOA felt like the best fit for the way our association actually operates.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed review, Julie! It sounds like you're getting a lot of great value from the PayHOA platform. We're happy to hear it's making the day-to-day management of your community much easier, as that is exactly the point. We've got a lot of AI functionality coming down the pipe that I think will really help with some of the customization you're looking for. Stay tuned for more on that!

It has been great, extremely user-friendly, and, in general, very intuitive. When I have needed support, I have been able to talk to someone quickly and get an answer to my issue.

Pros

It helps me combine the Association website with the Property Financial Management system. I am not switching between portals.

Cons

Nothing so far; there are some features I would like to see, but I understand those are in development right now. Looking forward to having them available!
