Who doesn't like a cute bear? Cons Although, the set-up of the software was easy enough what I did not like was the very limited locations available to connect to. Also, at times when you were connected to one location, you would be bumped off that location and immediately taken to another location. The purpose of a VPN is to secure one location so when your IP address is pinging in different locations, that doesn't look legitimate and may raise some problems depending on what site you are currently on. Great for accessing some services that might not be available in your area. I use both desktop app and browser extension. Both work as intended. You'll need to register an account to start using it. Cons It's too easy to leave running by accident and burn through your free data. I tend to leave tabs open/stuff on and I forget tunnelbear is running. Is supposedly very secure and encrypted. Has good multi-platform support. Cons The pricing model could be better. Monthly charges are not the best solution from the customer perspective, because you don't usually use VPN on a daily basis, but need it from time to time. Pros The user interface is very cute. Once you click to start the VPN, a little bear proceeds to dig a tunnel to the location you select for your IP address. Connection speed also varies during the day, no guarantee of bandwidth. Pros Simple user interface, startup and connect pretty quickly. Runs in the background unobtrusively in general. Cons Occasion drop out, quite frustrated when it happens during check out of the shopping cart, or half way streaming video. Pros I was able to use this to enjoy TV apps on both sides of the US/Canada border. Very inexpensive. Cons Offers free time in exchange for tweets. Pros I have to say that this is a tool I have really enjoyed using. I was hesitant at the beginning if it would be too complicated to use since I had a pressing need to access a site that was not accessible in my country. I found it extremely easy to use and I had the possibility to switch access as If I were a user physically located in those places. Cons At the moment I couldn't find any particular feature that I could consider annoying or out of place. In my personal taste I'd think the UI it's way too cartoonish/animated. I'm not sure if it's intentionally directed to the less technical users. I personally did not like this but it does not' affect the overall functionality of the app. Review Source CS Christopher S. I was very happy to be able to listen to rare music in other app using TunnelBear VPN. Pros With TunnelBear I've managed to use some apps which are not available in my country. I like also very much the design of the app. While connecting to other country' server you enjoy the hiding bear animation. Cons It's very good VPN providing product. It happens quite often and it helps me everywhere from watching my favourite UK shows, to getting discounted prices for international versions of different stores and platforms. I love the bear! Pros I love the friendly and fun interface and the amount of countries you can connect to Cons I didn't like the small 500MB limit of the trial version and I had a hard time adding extra MBs to my account. Ayudante Tecnico del Departamento de Informatica Used the software for: ### "Good free VPN to navigate" April 19, 2018 5.0 Pros It is an excellent VPN to navigate because although it slows down the speed of the Internet it is little compared to other VPNs, and allows you to simulate the connection from any of the 20 available countries, which allows access to portals and information pages as CNN in Spanish blocked in Venezuela by the government and securely connected to a public network to perform different procedures where passwords, bank card numbers, among others, are involved. " August 13, 2018 4.0 Great VPN software that has a lot going for it with little downsides. Pros The ability to use the VPN on my tablets and phone are fantastic. Reasonably priced for the amount of features that are received for the service. I have not noticed many connection issues with this VPN. They claim to not keep logs either which is always a plus. Cons The one thing that does make me nervous using this software is that the company is not US based so privacy and p2p laws are different. Review Source Iren S. The free trial version most often was sufficient for my tasks. Cons Sometimes the app was not able to connect to some specific countries, so I had to change the country to some other or wait for some time for it to connect to the one I needed. April 15, 2018 5.0 This is especially beneficial to me when I want to compare prices using Google. Google doesn't let me have the "shopping" option while I am in some countries. When I use TunnelBear and show up as in the US, then all the functionality returns. There are other website that block outside traffic, and using TunnelBear, I am able to enter in, just as if I were home. Pros Allows me "appear" to be in my home country even when I am traveling abroad. Some websites automatically block foreign traffic. Even Google doesn't allow me to have the "shopping" option if I appear in some countries. With TunnelBear, I am able to show up in my country of origin and do the shopping or research I need, without physically being there. Cons I haven't had any trouble with TunnelBear. I did need to uninstall the program on a device and the little cartoons gave me a little bit of a guilt trip. The animation is great actually. Thanks so much! Pros I like how easy and fast it was to create an account and sign up for the software, the whole process took less than 20 minutes, I think. Cons I don't think I used the software, but I did sign up for the monthly subscription. I don't think there are any cons about the software, the website was very professional. The tunnel bear needs to work on providing a seamless experience with the user interface of the application. Pros The most basic feature works well i.e providing VPN service to the customer and the servers are pretty fast and smooth. Cons The mobile application was very buggy and took a lot of time to load and crashed a lot of times. They need to work on providing better service across all platforms. Most of the VPNs that I have used before collects the users data and does not make sure that the connection is private. Tunnelbear exceeds in those areas and I highly recommend the application for a better private network.
