Pros: The interface is very strong for the students using the system. The new version 2 has a very nice aesthetic look and searching for roommates is an easy process. The customer service and response to our needs (particularly recently) has been excellent. I typically get a response from a rep within an hour during business hours and within an hour or so when RC opens. Version 2 has also made searching and managing student placement much easier from our end.

Cons: I would like RC to have a bit more customization on my end rather than asking their techs to do things. I'm still getting used to the new reporting system. I'd like to export data a bit more efficiently, but those things are on the way! Version 2 has made some excellent strides in these areas and I'm sure the final product will be just what I'm looking for.

Overall: Our student user experience is night and day better than what we were doing before. Giving the students the ability to see who they are signing up with has removed the summer conversations with parents asking "Why did you pair my student with X". I haven't received one call from an upset parent on roommates this summer. There will always be manual changes that need to take place of course, but this system has taken a giant process off our plate. Their new team seems hungry to make sure each of their clients are very happy and want to attack issues head on. I'm really looking forward to what the future has in store for RC.

Pros: The big update they did a few months ago fixed a lot of the little things I found most time consuming and annoying. It was like they read my mind :) I have a lot more control of things, and I love that.

Cons: If a tenant sends in a maintenance request via the website, I don't get an email notification about it (there is probably a way to get this fixed, I just haven't taken the time to look into it yet). This isn't their main way to send in requests, so it hasn't been that bothersome.

Overall: Honestly, what I've been most impressed with is the customer service. I can (and do) email them about all sorts of things, and they're are so quick to respond, always kind and accommodating. They provide screen shots if needed, and are great about following up.
I don't have any other software to compare Room Choice to, but I appreciate how easy it is to work and that the employees there are so helpful!
