That we tried other products from other vendors. Because we thougt it would be a good idea to test some other products. We shouldn't.

From a user perspective, this is a very convenient tool that puts everything in one place. It doesn't get buried amongst all the open browser tabs and makes it easy to find. Setting permissions is a little cumbersome initially, but it's a very convenient tool to use once all that is set up.

Pros

ISL Light is a great alternative to using the web interface. It removes a step and puts all the access that I need on a regular basis in one place. There are extra options in the web interface but since they aren't used often, it's not needed. This gives me a much simpler option and I am able to package the program and deploy through SCCM removing the need for admin rights to install.

Cons

This it nitpicky. I would love to be able to alter the white background and use a custom background and not just change the image. I would also like to be able to remove the computers tab for those that don't need that access.

Reason for choosing ISL Light

BeyondTrust was 4x's the price and complicated to setup and implement. NinjaOne went far beyond our needs. RustDesk being open source had security concerns. Microsoft Remote Help is highway robbery. This product was more expensive than our previous tool, but I have much more faith in it's security.

Hi Robert, thanks a lot for your detailed and valuable feedback! Regarding your request to hide the Computers tab, there’s an option to disable ISL AlwaysOn for selected users. Go to your Web Console, select Administration on the left side. On the right side you will see Settings, select ISL AlwaysOn. Here you can disable ISL AlwaysOn. This prevents users from adding or connecting to unattended computers. The computers are not permanently deleted, so the setting can be reverted. The affected users will also be unable to view the “Remote Access” tab on web pages.

Pretty good the sales team were very good the development team could be a bit better at responding to customer needs and issues.

Pros

Hosting the software ourselves is very comforting as we don't have to rely on other servers if it goes down we are to blame. Reading the customer the ID is very nice versus the other way around as it helps prevent errors and gets read at a consistent rate. Also being able to email and transfer the session is very helpful. The software file transfer is the best I've tried much faster than the competitors.

Cons

A couple of things that I wish would be improved would be. When comparing to Teamviewer, ISL is considerably slower; if you have them sitting side by side, you will be able to complete tasks almost twice as fast with Teamviewer. When opening UAC within Windows, there is a considerable delay in displaying the Yes and No prompt that doesn't happen with Teamviewer. Multiple monitors work pretty well, but once you get past three monitors, the software starts to fall apart. It's even slower. Also, sometimes, it won't even show dialog boxes in the large zoomed-out view that exists when using Teamviewer. You won't see all the monitors at once, so you will need to toggle each monitor until you are on the right one. Switching monitors is also a drag as it's also very, very slow to display the content of each individual monitor. I've been told that one of the reasons for ISL slowness is that it is more secure than Teamviewer, and while that might be true, I wish they would give the End User the option to have faster speed/less secure or slower speeds more secure.

Hello, the delays you are experiencing in a session where two computers are side by side, in comparison with TeamViewer, is due to difference in how the sessions work. With ISL Online, every session goes through a dedicated ISL server, making such a connection much more secure - in comparison, TeamViewer connections are peer-to-peer, so the session is established directly from one computer to another, with no server inbetween. This opens the session up to potential security issues. In cases where the computers are side by side, you may find the ISL session has a slightly higher delay, however in most cases, where remote computer is not next to the operator's computer, the session should not have any more delay than a TeamViewer session. I use isl light at work on a daily basis. It's easy to use and easy to guide new users to receive support. It's easy to get connected and I love the feature to get admin privileges and the user just have to confirm it. Always-on function is really good as it provides a backup when VPN's or RDP have issues.

Pros

Remote access works with no hiccups and it works on multiple OS's. The mobile version works well too. Always on is really useful.

Cons

A bit of confusion with login as I have 2 accounts with the same email. Sometimes it scrambles the view when user has multiple monitors.

I have a very good experience with ISL Light. It is fast, reliable, and easy to use for both IT support and clients. I especially appreciate that it offers everything we need while being more cost-effective than similar solutions. The software truly simplifies remote support work and boosts productivity.

Pros

The program provides all the functionalities that IT support needs for efficient remote work for our custumer support (file transfer, screen sharing, system management, simple “run as” admin access, etc.). The system runs stably without interruptions. In addition, the price is excellent — more affordable than similar programs such as TV, which further increases the value of the solution. It supports both online and self-hosted installations, offering an extra advantage when choosing the deployment method. I can manage the server myself, giving me full control over all settings.

Cons

I really don’t have many complaints. I didn’t encounter any major problems or glitches. It works satisfactorily even with weaker internet connections.

Better than teamviewer, it works more reliably, no more explaining to customers to click accept EULA. I feel no need to search for other solutions.

Pros

\- silent install packages for unattended clients, I can make different packages for different customers so that clients are automatically arranged into my groups - technical support people are knowledgeable and fast

Cons

\- sometimes it seems a bit slow, specially when switching to admin mode remotely - session links should be nicer (shorter), sometimes the situation forces clients to type it manually (https://islv61.islonline.net/join/XXXXXXXX) - I do not like it that it was sold to US company

we are using it for about 3 years now and would not return to what we used before. it helps us saving time a lot, certainly having nearly unlimited permanent agents to quickly unattended take over, help us react very quick and easy on customer questions for support etc.

Pros

We can quickly and easily assist users. We can create isl always on silent installer packages that just require 1 double click to install it on a system, no further config needed. Lets us share connections with co workers. The product most of the times just works, no hassle, just as it should be. No version hassles like competitors or extreme pricing for features. It has an API so we can nicely integrate it in our website so we can create easy ready to go sessions for clients without needing to pass ID's and passwords etc.

Cons

users get warnings about the isl download, they have to confirm downloading an unsafe file... copy-pasting from outside into a session is sometimes troublesome, luckily there is the paste-keyboard type option which always works isl always on agents may sometimes take multiple minutes to show online after booting or rebooting a machine. file transfer could be handier. less fit for Mac,

It is easy for my users to setup and connect with me, especially my mum who likes to complicate things.

The icons for transferring files between computers I often click the wrong one. A minor issue.

Much better than we expected for the price, has done everything we wanted it to and more, although there are always areas for improvement.

Pros

Excellent value for money! Very easy to transfer files, just drag and drop. Quick and easy to access unattended machines. Secure with multiple password layers. Once deployment is set up, it's quickly scalable. Concurrent user pricing model is much better than per user. Customer support is always available and helpful via online chat.

Cons

Unable to see any info about unattended computers such as the username of the logged in user, or a screen preview. Deployment is a little fiddly, it would be easier if you could just download a customised MSI without having to wrap up the commands. There is no easy way to transfer existing ISL clients from one support provider to another. Sometimes the client needs restarting to get all features working again (especially Ctrl+Alt+Del). Product names are a little confusing, which version do users/customers need to install? No easy customisation options with company logos etc.

We primarily use the product for offering remote technical support to our clients and customers. We are an outsourcing IT company, and we provide services and support to various business in the region. When we have the possibility of providing remote support, we use ISL. Because we only have to provide an eight-digit number to our customers, it makes the whole process much easier and faster. Some clients have become so familiar with the product, that they have it already ready when we call them and they only ask, “what is the number”. The icon is also very distinguishable, so it’s easy to explain the customers what to look for on the website or the desktop. The ability to set an “always on” connection is also very valuable, as we don’t have to interact directly with the clients to establish the connection. It also allows for a fast glance at the operation of the systems, to see if they are online or not. The ability to save the computers and categorize them in groups also saves us time. The stability and reliability of the whole system is very valuable and In our many years of use we haven’t had one incident, where we weren’t able to provide remote assistance because of ISL issues. The sessions can also be paused and transferred to another operator, so if one operator has issues, it can be transferred to another technician, without interruption from the client side. Since everyone can see the active sessions, we can also collaborate much easier.

Pros

\- Easy to use for users and operators - Very fast installation and general use - Easy to start a session with users, only 8 digit number needed - Lots of features, RDP, always on, file sharing, recording, etc

I don't have any real issues with this software.

ISL Light has ably supported our helpdesk function and allowed us to effectively remote support users. This has been especially useful during the pandemic and the increase of remote workers.

Pros

ISL Light is very easy to use and very stable when used in unattended installations.

Cons

The support for mac displays is not as strong and sometimes can fail to display a screen even when security settings are configured. Would also like the ability to change resolutions of remote desktops whilst connected.

as far as I use it (one cemputer remoto control work), basicall nothing. maybe that i could better use two screen mode.

Overall I am happy with its use. What I appreciate the most and is of main priority is safety and privacy.

Pros

Simplicity of installation and user friendly interface. Transparent and efficient, stable running as for simple or professional use.

Cons

That its not yet fully capable of using it for smart phone aplication. Perhaps I'm not doing something right but at creating new sessions I am constantly experiencing push for new interface downloads.

Great to use for anyone in the IT profession.

Pros

Its ease of use Quick remote desktops to multiple clients Easily deployed to all my clients and end user machines Filtering of clients on the ISL page Search feature

Cons

Screen quality can be hit and miss but not a major issue Connection speed can be slow sometimes but i guess thats also attributed to the speed on the clients end

### "This tool have everything our school need"

I recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the expensive remote connect apps. I used many other remote connection software and did extensive research, and I think this is the top one.

Pros

My experience with ISL Light has been great, especially in terms of its performance and reliability during remote sessions. The speed and stability of the connection were top-notch, allowing me to connect to our computers in distant administrative campuses. Being able to use it on various devices made my work much more convenient. ISL Light's robust features and smooth operation are what I liked most about it.

Cons

I think the design can be improved and there are some ways to be a little more friendlier.
