In the past I would either write them down or document them in Notes on my phone. Folder Lock solved that problem with a great app. and better encryption along with the option of generating high security passwords. Cons At this time I have no cons to add to this review. FolderLockbwas the one that ended up on all my computers. Pros It is easy to install, easy to understand and very easy to use. Cons Nothing... if I had a comment it would be that the encryption levels and types used could be more transparent. I have used more complex programs that do give me a higher level of confidence that they are nearly unbreakable because of their emphasis in the setup and in the program GUI labeling. My other minor issue is with syncing and migrating lockers between computers, but I do not have any solutions for that... Review Source JJ James J. No possibility to access without authorization once the folder is locked. No possibility to suspect that a folder is hidden there. Pros To lock folders inside the computer where the software is already installed is reliable Cons Other features are difficult to understand how to use them. To lock folder in USB is difficult. I also really like that it completely hides the files and folders you want to secure, so no one could find them by browsing. Cons The one thing I don't particularly care for is that I have to keep the Folder Lock program open and running in the background to keep access to my files. It isn't much of a problem, but there are times I want to show someone some files, but I don't want them to also see my Folder Lock program. Review Source LH Leigh H. When others use the computer and they have permission to, my protected folders do not even appear to exist. This is great because the file can not even be found or attempted to be opened. Pros It is easy to add or remove the folders or files you want protected. I even use it to lock shortcuts with their passwords into sites. I like the fact that other users are not even able to see the locked folders & files on the hard drive. Cons I can find a way to see the product serial number for my software. Pros I love the ability to hide the program from prying eyes so it doesn't show up in program files directory, start menu, or programs and features in the control panel. Cons I was using it for quite a while then all of a sudden it wouldn't work. It would not lock the files. I was able to access my files even though they were supposed to be locked. For the same reason is such a program useful at a laptop or tablet which is used while traveling. Cons The bad support. It is already long ago as I needed support. This combination makes Folder Lock very effective at locking down folders and files while also protecting itself from tampering. Cons Some features, such as the sound effects when the folder is unlocked don't seem to be configurable. And some of the configuration options aren't very clear on what they do; it takes a little playing around with it. I'd like to see the ability to disable sound effects as well as see more tool tips. This program fit me very well. from Portable USB , Portable drive I use , all my info inside is safe , even I put my file in my Google Drive I don\`t have to worry about anyone can steal my info. Pros used it ten years ago when there was no cloud and wverything was local - now I sorb see the relevance becuase there are tools that encrypt disk to apps data Cons at that time one can forget to locak the folder or file and leave data vulnerable on hard disk or usb. at that time databhad to be in a specific location ao meant more directories to manage. The user interface is self explanatory. The ability to lock folders or hide them is great. I like the ability to shred empty drive space. And the stealth mode is awesome.
