I have had to uninstall and reinstall 1 x when i tried to lock files, and the files were reported as locked, but were not not locked. Pros works well at hiding files when in lock mode easy to turn on locking and turn off locking Cons encrypt files sometimes claims program still running when no other programs are running, makes it difficult to turn off. you charge for encrypting usb and accessory hard disks. For a small business it needs to be done in an effective but affordable method. Folder Lock accomplishes that beautifully and effectively. Pros Adds a simple but effective layer of data protection by making the files invisible unless you crack Folder Lock, which we haven't seen. YES, I would personally recommend this NewSotfwares.Net application for professional and personal use of sensitive information. Pros What I like most about Folder Lock 7 is the ability to securely set-up my Locker exactly where I want it. Whether it be on a Network drive or a Local drive...it works...securely! In addition, once Folder Locker 7 is unlocked, it can be opened in a variant of "Map drives" as Read-Write or Read Only. Cons What I least like about Folder Lock 7 is that all the information stored can easily be deleted by any user; unless an administrative password is set in active directory or folder properties. This is my very first locking software and I could use it without much effort right from the get go. Selecting which folders to lock, toggling the lock as and when required , installation, un-installation and re-installation all are a breeze. Could do everything without having to resort to guides. And above all it does what it's supposed to do - lock folders. I keep all my PII locked all the time. Pros Ease of use. Does an awesome job of locking folders without much effort. Up to now, it has served my purpose very well. Pros The ease to use. It is very easy to lock the folders and get those back. I frequently use this and it has helped me a lot. Cons Sometimes, when I tried to lock a new folder, it didn't lock (or hide) at the first attempt. In some cases, I had to try for many times redoing it. Instructor Entertainment Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Long-standing bugs makes it practically useless" February 15, 2019 2.0 I've used it for years, and I finally couldn't stand it anymore and uninstalled, and chose a freeware instead. The bug causes Folder Lock to not be able to close the opened lockers, no matter what you do. I tried all the suggestions given by their tech support and nothing worked, and this lasted for years and they never could solve this problem. Basically you never know when a locker wouldn't be able to close, even if you restart the computer, and your sensitive/private files become exposed constantly because you have no way to lock the locker once it's open. When it did work, it was sporadic and inconsistent. Pros The GUI is nicer looking than freeware the provide similar features. Cons Long standing bugs that makes it useless. " February 26, 2019 5.0 It solved my problem of how to quickly and easily secure data files both on a temporary and permanent basis. Pros I have used Folder Lock for many years. Folder Lock has been seamless in all aspects as advertised. It provides me with a quick easy solution to securing any information I wish store. I like the fact I have a portion of my hard drive locked with Folder Lock. I only need to unlock it in the morning and it functions as a normal disk partition and or directory. I find it easy to transfer secure files to portable devices and maintain the security. For me Folder Lock has been an valuable and affordable addition to my security measures. Cons I really don't have any complainants. When I fist installed it I used two different passwords. One to change administration settings and one to open Folder Lock. Pros Very easy to use, user friendly During the years called a couple of times to support desk, they helped very quickly Been relying on it during many years, never had a real issue Cons Just one thing that sometimes causes a problem within Encrypted folders: sometimes the virtual drive can not be closed for some reason. It's easy to use and only secures the folders that I use for work, leaving the rest of the computer available for other family members to use. It's affordable and effective. Highly recommend. Pros I love that it is super easy to use and highly reliable. All of my passwords and documents are securely locked and encrypted on one place and I have scheduled regular backup of them. One of the best features is that you can lock and encrypt your documents and passwords not only on your PC, but on your flash drive as well. Cons There is almost nothing I can think of when it comes to cons of this software, I wish they could offer higher level of encryption for basic user, unfortunately that is not possible. You will have the cloud storage with you. You can store photos, videos , your cards, documents in it in different folders as there are each section for evry type file.
