Pros This software was the solution to solve a problem with nosy persons by providing me with less files available at anytime on my PCs.I can work on this drive without leaving an unlocked copy anywhere. I keep all personal ID and financial and legal matters in Folder Lock. I feel more safe and confident with this service on my PC. Pros It is simple and easy to use. It actually does what it claims and does it easily and reliably. It is so silent, hidden, that I often forget it is there and I can't find files or folders that I know exist. Then, oh, I remember folder lock and with a few key strokes my hidden/locked files/folders are accessible. I keep all personal, private, confidential info under Folder Lock and it is so secure that even I cannot find and access it until I remember that Folder Lock has it. It allowed me to use my own randomly generated pass key to easily open and lock Folder Lock. It has worked well and confidently for me. I am most happy with it. Cons It works so well and is so invisible that I regularly forget it is there. Then I cannot find things that I know should exist. Then oops, I remember Folder Lock and upon easy access, what I want is now available. It is like a security guard that is so discrete and silent that you forget he/she is always nearby. I especially like the USB secure part when travelling with USB but customer service was problematic because authorisation email was needed to change over from USB to USB unfortunately. I do understand the necessity. No reply last time. Gave up trying after that. Pros I bought the comprehensive bundle to include PC and USB lock. I really liked both for avoiding windows admin login, preferring the computer to boot entirely into windows and then lock/unlock certain aspects. Cons I found ways to avert the locks through freeware File search programmes and search results. I ended up finding the USB Stick again but it was a wakeup call, reminding me just how dangerous losing that stick could have been. I still keep my personal data on a USB stick to access at work or home, but now it's protected if anything should ever happen to that USB stick. Pros Locking data into an encrypted folder is a breeze and being able to run a Portable App from a USB stick makes using this software anywhere so simple. I use Folder Lock virtually every day. I've never had a glitch or problem with it. It just works. Cons Only thing it needs for me is a command line tool so I could incorporate it into my backup software. Pros Most valuable feature for me was the ability to completely hide folders (directories) from inquiring eyes. I especially liked that there are choices on just how hidden folders can be. I am confident in the program’s ability to keep my files both safe and secure from prying eyes. Pros Folder Lock was relatively easy to use and took little practice to master. The ability to hide files (and the program itself) was a great feature that went beyond my expectations. I also enjoyed the the “clear” button and options for failing to enter the correct passcode. I wish they had better customer support an also quickly addressed problems on the software as reported by the customer. Pros It's easy to use and gives me the sense of security that my data is safe but always accessible. Cons Customer support needs improvement. I wrote to them about a glitch in the software but they have failed to fix it so far. As one of the safety features there is an auto log off option. However, even though the Folder Lock screen/window does close after the prescribed time, the software fails to properly close the folders and they are still accessible through the file explorer. This is dangerous and despite my contacts with the support (at lest twice), they have not fixed it yet. Review Source CB Clifton B. Pros What I like most is the feature where you can set it to turn off after an x number of failed login attempts. For the rest the feature where I can open several lockers simultaneously . February 22, 2019 5.0 Overall, I have had a very good experience with Folder Lock and will continue to use it to protect sensitive files. Pros A very nice product that appears to work as advertised. I have used Folder Lock on sensitive computer files and have not had any issues of exposed files. I have not had an expert test Folder Lock's accessibility but for the casual user, it's very secure. Cons I have had one or two occurrences where Folder Lock did not recognize my password but were eventually overcome. This could have been a grouchy keyboard issue. Review Source CF Cameron F. February 15, 2019 5.0 My overall experience has been very positive. I keep some sensitive information on my computer and I have always worried about this information getting into the wrong hands. Using Folder Lock has put those fears to rest. I'm very happy with the product. Pros I like the fact that I know my sensitive data is secure even if my computer gets hacked or stolen. The interface is simple and straight forward. Customer service was quick and helpful in dealing with an issue I had. Cons I do not like how the encryption works with USB drives. It is very clunky to work with files you want to take on the go and use on other computers. If this could be addressed I would give this software the highest rating in every category. The one I like best are the Lockers. Basically, a Locker is an encrypted container file that, when opened, is a virtual drive, accessible like any drive on your system. I have locked drives and folders alike, which confirmed the safety I was looking for. Thank You! Pros The flexibility Folder lock presents via the interface. It is very easy to use and understand. Cons The fact that there wasn't an ability to adjust the encrypted folder in size. Even though one makes an estimate in creating a sizable encrypted file/folder, and when the size is reached, there isn't any possibility to adjust the size. The only way is to make another and transfer the files. Not a great issue, it's just an improvement tip from a satisfied customer. Second, I use Cloud Secure alongside Folder Lock. This gives more freedom to it. But, I have two computers and when encrypted a folder on the cloud drive, there is only one possibility to decrypt from the same computer the encrypted folder was made. It would be nice to be able to decrypt it with the second folder lock on my second computer (knowing that it would only work for the Encrypt Files option). Was just a suggestion. Pros Program was easy to install, easy to use and does what it's supposed to do...secure your data in a secure folder.
