### "Takes the headaches out of course creation"

April 9, 2026

5.0

I’ve had a very positive experience with Teachable overall. It made it easy to create and sell online courses without needing a lot of technical knowledge. The course builder is simple to use, and I like that I can upload videos, PDFs, quizzes, and other resources all in one place. The platform also handles payments, student access, and basic marketing tools, which saves a lot of time. Overall, I would recommend Teachable to anyone who wants a straightforward way to launch and sell online courses. It’s especially great for solo creators, coaches, and small businesses because it makes the technical side of course creation much easier.

Pros

Pros: Very easy to set up and use, even for beginners Clean, user-friendly course builder with drag-and-drop features Includes helpful tools like quizzes, certificates, drip content, and coaching options Built-in payment processing and checkout pages make selling courses simple Good selection of integrations and marketing features like coupons, affiliates, and upsells

Cons

Cons: The lower-tier plans include transaction fees Design customization is somewhat limited compared to other platforms The community and email marketing features are fairly basic There can be a learning curve if you want to use all of the advanced features

### "A great platform to start with basic learning products"

January 13, 2025

4.0

It was good as a start. I was comfortable until I needed different content creation course/coaching organization.

Pros

As a LMS, I really value the option of creating coaching sessions, memberships and courses. This is one of the big PROs of the platoform. The interface is very friendly (important to content creation) and it was comfortable to use for students

Cons

The limits. The number of courses and the number of teachers didn't allow me to create a school the way I wanted to. It was not scalable enough if you plan to mix subscriptions, coaching mentorings, 1:1 sessions, with private areas for individual students, etc.

Reason for choosing Teachable

Best value for price. Thinkify offered very limited features and Kajabi was too expensive to start. I did also had 3 months for free from another course, so I could test the platform in advance and created my content there.

### "Why you should stay away from teacheable software at all cost!"

December 27, 2025

1.0

Heres is my unpleasant experience! I was drawn in by a Teachable promotion offering 1 month free + 3 months bonus. After completing payment, my account was automatically placed on the Growth Plan, even though I signed up for the Standard Plan. The following month, I was billed USD 89 for the Growth Plan. I immediately downgraded to the Standard Plan at USD 29/month. The amount was successfully deducted from my debit card, yet Teachable claims the payment was declined. As a result, I’ve lost access to my account despite being charged. This experience has been extremely frustrating. The promotion felt misleading, and the billing and access issues have not been handled transparently. Teachable appears efficient at collecting payments but slow and unresponsive when it comes to resolving errors and delivering what was paid for. I’m sharing this as a caution to others—STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Pros

Easy to use software just like other software, i canot write over 100 words because this are just a basic software. you can get others that are more cheaper and honest. They are good on pulling a misleading promo so kudus to their dishonest marketing!

Cons

\-Misleading Promo -Intentional Billing Glitches - Billing Fraud -Poor customer services, who doesnt know what they are talking about - Unreliable- said they will assist to fix the issue then she cannot do anything - I cannot access my account despite of paying for a plan and them taking my money!

### "Seamless Learning Management System"

February 13, 2026

5.0

I have used Teachable particularly for developing courses for adult, professional learners. As an asynchrnous learning platform, I have found that its interface, assignments, and participation and tracking data have been particularly useful, and students have found it to be a pretty seamless learning experience, as well.

Pros

Teachable is a solid learning management system that allows educators to easily set up courses with a variety of features. As an educator, I have set up asynchronous courses on Teachable, Canvas, and Blackboard, and I find Teachable's interface and course features the most intuitive. Beyond its user and content management interface, it allows you to include and track a range of assignment types. I find the way that it allows you to see info about student participation to be more useful than other platforms, as well.

Cons

I think that the way that Teachable sends student participation data and completion stats to other platforms--from Airtable to Salesforce to Wordpress--can be improved. I would also like it to more easily integrate with various web calendar apps.

### "Loved it at first! BUT, so many limits to functionality I switched to new platform within 3 months"

January 8, 2023

5.0

When I first started with teachable I had an amazing experience. I loved the on boarding process that they put you through. Once I started building my courses at first it was positive because it's very simple to start. However, once I got a little deeper into my process I realized that there are many limitations to this platform that required me to do workarounds. For example:1. They have the ability to create a quiz but that quiz can only be multiple choice and the multiple choice can only have one correct answer. Therefore, the assessments are very limited you can't have students reflect with writing in their own words or you can't have any other type of question other than multiple choice. I had already created quizzes in another tool that I was using because I was already teaching courses before I started Teachable so I just linked those quizzes to Teachable.2. Teachable also doesn't integrate with SCORM which is a type of interactive course building file which is really state of the art. I use a tool called Articulate 360 and it allows you to create interactive courses/lessons and most LMS platforms integrate with SCORM and tools like Articulate 360, but Teachable does not.3. You cannot see the results of assessments unless you are on the highest tier, which is $120+4. You cannot have discussions with students unless you are on the highest tier.

Pros

Teachable really sold me with their marketing about how easy the platform was to use and with their webinars that really walk you through the course creation process. I really appreciated the education that they give you at the beginning of the on boarding process and that was really valuable even if the tools themselves ended up being very limited for my needs.

Cons

Between the time that I signed up and I decided to leave this platform the price more than doubled for hosting the courses that I was hosting. In addition to this, when you compare Teachable to the other platforms that are available out there; specifically, learnworlds, which is a platform I decided to go with, there's so many limits to their functionality that it's really difficult to run a course that is training students and in a process that needs to be evaluated. I think if I was just teaching for fun this might be a good platform for me but my students are moving through a process that needs to result in demonstrated mastery and the ability for me to present the information to them in an interactive way and the ability for them to complete evaluations and assessments with in the actual platform is really limited.

I switch to teachable because their marketing really sold me on how simple it would be to set up a LMS. I had already tried building my courses using another LMS and it was really clunky and I had a really difficult experience so at the time that I switch to teachable the 'easy to start' sales tactic really worked on me.

### "Teachable Moments "

August 25, 2021

5.0

Overall Teachable solved a revenue issue for us! We needed a place for people to go and purchase out products and downloadable services without having to start from scratch - which is quite costly - and Teachable allowed us to do that. It help us generate necessary revenue with ease.

Pros

Teachable is very user friendly. I am not a very technically inclined person and this program gave me the ease I needed to set our digital classroom. AT the time we began using the company could not afford more than $100 a month and Teachable was very affordable for out small nonprofit.

Cons

I would say that my least favorite aspect of Teachable is or was the design templates, although they recently upgraded this feature and you can do a few more fancy things to your store and landing page.

### "Not able to handle business needs"

June 20, 2025

1.0

Overall they lack crucial tools for building a business. They are decent if you want to create a school for a hobby (I don't know the pricing compared to other options), but now that we grew our school to be a business, they are severely lacking (support, analytics, comments...)

Pros

Customer since late 2018, Teachable was at the time a simple tool to get your school online. Very happy at the time with the ease of setting up courses, embedding my videos, and answering students questions. Now I would NOT recommend it to anyone wanting to build a business.

Cons

Most important one : no support. No live chat, tickets are handled on an obscure in-house system where you have no idea if they saw your issue or when they will answer. When they answer, it's not even level 1 support, it's "have you looked at the knowledge base ?". Yes, if I have an issue impacting thousands of students, I tried every solution I could before attempting to communicate with you and knowing it will take at best 4 days before being able to explain the issue to someone who will understand it. 2nd most important : Extremely weak analytics. For example you cannot filter your student base with more than 1 course. They literally cannot show you the list of students in course A & course B. You have to download the CSV and tinker yourself. This is another weak point when you're trying to build a business. 3rd most important : Comment management is weak. If you want to sell courses where the teacher will answer student's questions, good luck to you. You cannot easily filter/sort the comments,

### "Great start for us"

July 28, 2025

4.0

We initially found Teachable to be a user-friendly and affordable platform for launching our course. It was particularly helpful in the beginning due to its ease of organizing course content and managing administrative tasks from the dashboard. However, as our community and platform grew, we eventually needed more advanced features that Teachable couldn't provide. Moving to another platform was the right decision for us to better serve our expanding needs. We also experienced some technical issues, but I'm sure those have been resolved by now.

Pros

Teachable was an easy to use platform to get up and going with our course originally. We felt like it was low cost to join which made it accessible to us when we were just starting out. It also made out course easy to lay out and organize. The admin management was easy to access and utilize form the dashboard.

Cons

We outgrew teachable and needed more features that we were able to find on another platform to better serve our growing community and platform. It was just the right move for us. We also had some tech issues, but I am sure that has long been resolved.

### "Powering my course selling and student success"

July 15, 2025

5.0

As one sells online courses and tracks learners, Teachable performs this effectively without hindering content optimization due to the long load time of large sales pages.

Pros

Teachable has also helped me to sell my courses with a built-in payment option which makes it easier to perform the transaction. The engagement overview gives me a good overview of the student progress tracking.

Cons

One of the common problems that I have had is that, at times, bigger sales pages can take too long to load.

### "Teachable holds merchants' money, without explanation!"

May 23, 2025

1.0

I’m requesting immediate release of the funds and a formal response explaining the cause of the delay. This is unacceptable behavior for a financial platform, and it’s created severe consequences for my business.

Pros

Teachable has been holding over a month’s worth of my business revenue without releasing the funds, providing any valid reason, or even responding to my messages. I've reached out multiple times via email and their support portal, and have been completely ignored.

Cons

This lack of transparency and communication has directly impacted my business operations — I’ve missed payroll, delayed services to clients, and lost significant revenue. Teachable’s platform gave no warning of potential fund holds, and their total silence has made it impossible to resolve the issue.

### "Assisted in the creation of trust in my audience"

June 24, 2025

5.0

Pros

The ability to add videos, quizzes, and downloadable PDFs to a course and publish it seemed natural to Teachable. The outlines and subtitle translations made by AI and improving accessibility to diverse learners across the world.

Cons

The slow backend syncing and the inability to sometimes access it because of the traffic was an annoying functional bug.

### "Too Expensive, Not Designed for Marketers"

April 26, 2022

2.0

I wish I had signed up for the free or lower-cost plan first. It's very difficult to switch platforms, so this is a decision that requires a lot of pre-purchase diligence. I now use Systeme.io, which offers way more features at a fraction of the price.

Pros

The course building platform itself is great. Support is decent for the most part, although they don't really engage well with feature requests.

Cons

Teachable seems to look at sales as an incidental part of course creation and teaching. Here are a few examples: 1) They don't have a drag-and-drop landing page builder. The templates are really generic and it's hard to get a sleek-looking landing page. 2) No email automation. You can send one-off emails to your students, but that's it. 3) You can't add a lead magnet to collect email addresses. You'll have to pay for Convertkit (which is another $25/month) or another email list provider. 4) There are limited options to customize the checkout. You can't custom code (like Analytics), or so on because the checkout is hosted on sso.teachable.com. And there's no option for a two-step checkout - say goodbye to abandoned cart emails (unless you want to create a complicated integration). 5) Their "one-click-upsell" mechanics are super limited. They previously had this feature, but got rid of it when they upgraded their page builder. They now have an upsell, but the mechanics are clunky. Again - sales and marketing are not at the top of this company's mind. On top of that, the pricing was expensive. $99/month (the lowest-priced annual plan with no transaction fee) is super high pricing for what you get. You're better off with Kartra (which costs the same as Teachable, but does way more) or Systeme.io (which has crazy-affordable pricing and really engages with users to improve the product)

### "I absolutely LOVE this course creation and course selling platform!"

September 19, 2020

5.0

I love the professional look of Teachable and I think that makes students feel more comfortable buying online courses from "your average Joe".

Pros

For starters, it is great that you can creaet a course and put it on Teachable for free to test drive the platform and see if it will be a good fit for you and your students. I like that the platform is easy to use, customizable, NOT CLUNKY, and is professional looking.

Cons

The pricing might be a bit much if you're just starting out as a course creator and aren't sure if you're course is going to sell out the way you want it to. Other than that, there really isn't anything bad I can say about Teachable. They've done a great job creating a platform that makes it easy for anyone to sell a course they've created.

### "They Have Good Resources "

April 25, 2020

5.0

Initially I was dazzled by Teachable. As I got more into my business and researched, and the more teachable updated and changed their plans and options, the more I realised that there are better options out there. The resources are still good, but they focus very much on the 'overnight success' model that tends to burn most entrepreneurs out.

Pros

You can change the colour scheme to for your brand. There is a white label option to ensure all branding is yours and only yours. You can use your own domain. Video hosting is done directly on Teachable, so no need to figure out embedding etc from other sites. You can add quizzes and tests to your online courses. You can add resources and PDFs for your students. It's possible to add add-ons for additional income on courses, and also bundle courses together. They offer many free courses and resources to help the budding online teacher.

Cons

There is no middle ground between the starter plan and next plan - it's expensive for the starter plan compared to other course platform options with hardly any of the perks the others offer. The promise of being able to fully customise your school is negated by the very real fact that you HAVE to be able to 'code' to do so, taking away from the ease of use. The quizzes available are restricted to multiple choice or true and false - students aren't able to upload assignments and there is also no room for free flow questions.

### "Roadmap Development Slow!"

May 25, 2024

4.0

My experience was Teachable was good, but the price I found a stickler knowing that their roadmap for improvements was slow. This ultimately drove me to try out the competitor. I still have the free tier, in the event I want to go back one day. Which I may, it depends on pricing and roadmap.

Pros

I bought it at the beginning of the pandemic in spring of 2020. At the time it was best in class.

Cons

The aesthetics, after so many years, for there to be no improvement here, I find unforgivable.

### "Quickest way to go online with your courses"

December 6, 2019

5.0

Overall experience with Teachable has been great. The UI and UX is soothing from both the views , as a teacher and as a student. Things are seamless and it takes no time to launch a course if you have your material ready.

Pros

\- Great UI and UX. - Unlike WordPress, you don't have to plug-in several puzzles together to get the system working. Works fine out of the box. - For those looking for more, they have provided ways to integrate with 3rd party applications. - Teachable does all the heavy lifting by itself allowing you to focus on creating your course.

Cons

Pricing. They may want to look into an alternative pricing structure for teachers interested in few courses with limited no of students. As of now, someone with 100 courses and 10,000 students will pay the same fees as with some one with 5 courses and 500 students.

### "I love Teachable"

May 30, 2019

5.0

I teach small-business owners sales and marketing skills via online courses. When I first crossed over from a Wordpress platform with 80 lectures, each containing video, text, PDFs, and soundtracks - the entire crossover process was completed in a day. Easy work - just lots of it. That was three years ago. Since then I've seen more than 100 students set up their own schools. They all rave about the platform.

Pros

Incredibly easy to use. Very fast to deploy a complete course with almost zero technical skill. fast and comprehensive support. Their free pricing offers a zero cost startup. It's so good that I introduce Teachable to every student I teach.

Cons

I love their concern about security. Just sometimes, and this is not a complaint, I offend by logging in from a different machine. That invokes two-factor authorization. It's not a problem at all, of course, but it's the feature I like least. Call me lazy.

Online learning has been cumbersome in the past to say the least. This not only simplifies and streamlines it, but it makes it a bit addicting as well. Overall positive review with recommendations. Just stay away from the app. It's flawed.

Pros

Interface is easy to navigate, options for action are straightforward, and payment system makes sense. All adds up to a great experience, at least on a web browser.

Cons

The mobile app is non-functional. Try to do the same things you do on a browser using the same interface and you'll probably uninstall the app like I did. It just doesn't work.

### "Good but expensive"

November 7, 2021

4.0

I do like my experience with Teachable as a user. Although I wouldn't use it as an educator myself, I can see the value in Teachable and if you can get over the high monthly/yearly price (unless maybe if you don't need the higher versions, then it's actually priced really well) then I think it could be very valuable. The custom domain names are a nice feature as well, although - as I mentioned - it can be confusing.

Pros

\- Beautiful interface - Personalisable - Good on mobile - Seems like a perfect solution for people who don't want to build an online education programme with WordPress, which surely is more difficult in all aspects.

Cons

\- I would not use this software for my own courses because I find it way too expensive. However I think this is a trade-off that a lot of people are willing to make because it's easy. - Sometimes it gets really confusing to switch between various educators who use Teachable. I even lost access to some courses because of a confusion I had (multiple accounts that I wanted to merge).

### "Great por trainings!"

May 1, 2019

5.0

If you’re a teacher or if you want to share your knowledge you’ll love Teachable. The main objective of the platform is to create content to share and sell that knowledge.

Pros

You can start making money by generating slides, videos or material. Has PayPal integrations so you can connect directly to your PayPal account. As a teacher or content creator for education you can categorize content, view learners progress and even detect each one's grades. Has a lot of management tools for large groups of people. You can create a landing page for every course and let the students apply for your courses.

Cons

If you're looking for an internal LMS Teachable is not the solution. But that will be a great opportunity for Teachable to configure and make some updates for a Company LMS product. For sure another business model.

### "Teachable is a forward-thinking Learning Management System with a great team behind it."

June 22, 2018

5.0

This software helps me have a modern and useful course for my users. It takes out the management of affiliates, authentication, and other essential components that would be a pain to build.

Pros

Teachable has so much functionality I expect from my Learning Management System. And the support/team behind it empowers me to provide beautiful courses to my users. Its coupon functionality, homepage design, and course builder are intuitive and powerful. Just recently they have made it possible to give students a certificate for completing the course, which has long been a request of our users.

Cons
