I have interacted with many MFT applications, and EFT tops them all. Pros The software offers the most robust feature set. You have a lot flexibility in how to approach each setup/environment. There are always multiple ways to approach administration & automation. Cons File Transfer is a tough space to be in, because you touch virtually everything in the network, while depending on multiple layers of the environment, without having any sort of control of them. That being said, EFT has had stability issues in the past. Upgrades are always an endeavor, because things that were previously fixed, could have been re-broken. Reason for choosing Globalscape EFT EFT has a better GUI, is more intuitive, has more/better features, the updates that GS is making to EFT recently really seem to be moving it in an amazing direction. It was not easy to integrated with SSO. but we learnt it form the support. Cons Basic functionality is not there for new authentication methods. We had planned to choose the product only for 1 year as a temporary solution but base on its ease of use and functionalities it has been the permanent solution for file transfers. Pros \-- Its easy to customize. -- no programming skills required to implement. -- Anyone can implement and design file transfer solutions Cons \-- It has challenge with operating systems other than windows as the agents are designed for windows only. Network Engineer Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Full Featured file transfer product" December 22, 2020 5.0 Pros The EFT software is a full featured and production ready product capable of supporting hundreds of ftp users and workflows. The thing that we like the most about it though is the responsiveness of Globalscape support. There are tons of SFTP products out there but only Globalscape provides skilled technicians to troubleshoot the sometimes confusing issues we have encounter when we need to implement connectivity between EFT and hundreds of different customers and products. That is what is most valuable to me as an administrator. Cons There are a few areas specific to configuration of certificates where there is not enough granularity in the way things are configured. What I mean by this, is that some areas of the EFT configuration don't let you change the certificate for a specific user, its all or nothing. This can increase risk when we are making updates to these kinds of things, though we have worked around this by deploying a test environment where we can validate changes in advance. It allows me to be able to send a simple file one way in seconds to creating scripts such as Folder Monitors and Timer Events. Pros Its easy to use - allows many different options when creating rules/scripts. very user friendly and descriptive. The security and piece of mind it gives us sending and receiving data securely. Cons I can't say there is anything I'm not happy with. Its been a great asset to our Institution and partners. Reason for choosing Globalscape EFT We did investigate and spoke to customers. One of my colleagues from a different health system had also told me he was sold on Globalscapes service to its customers. I have found Globalscapes service teams and responses to be a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 which to me is more important that the product itself. Review Source SO Sunkanmi O. The Advanced Workflow Engine interface integration with other Application Interface such as Microsoft SharePoint is superb. Business process automation has been easier with the Globalscape Enhanced File Transfer. we have been able to meet Service level agreement with our client. Pros 1\. The Globalscape Enhanced File Transfer secure and automotive capability has made secure file transfer easier as files could be sent within and outside the network with utmost ease. Our files are monitored and automated with little or no human interventions. 2. The software has an easy user interaction interface. 3. The software provides easy compatibility of the application with other independent applications. We integrated EFT with RSA for enhanced secure authentication. Cons I would love the Work Transfer Client to be integrated into the Advanced Workflow Engine for effective sending of files above email limit. Review Source SD Scott D. The interface is highly intuitive so you do not need to spend hours and hours to just learn how to use it. Once you've installed and setup EFT, you will be surprised at just how many things this platform is capable of doing. I still learn something new once in a while nd I have been administering it for 4+ years now. Cons I really wish there was a way that Globalscape could incorporate more of the AWE functionality into the Event Rules. And while not a huge deal, the ability to create subfolders under an Event Rule folder would be very helpful. Finally, I wish there was more documentation regarding the functionality of this software. The current documentation is mediocre at best. Review Source VS Vikram S. Pros This product supports for FTP/S, SFTP, HTTPS connectivity with the external user to your company. This also provides basic Manage file transfer feature and also can the write the same on your Azure Blob. Ease of use , quick and responsible customer support. Variety of Help topics. Cons Not too many custom features with the basic version of it. But overall good. Pros EFT is very secure. You can protect connections with encryption, private keys, passwords and IP filters. It is very flexible in the setup which can be different per connection. This makes it possible to securely send and receive files to our transaction system. Cons The configuration can be complex, but the support is excellent. Also it is very stable and auditable, something that is very important as a MFT solution. Cons Some improvements can be made in my option to version history or a undo button. Pros The ability for users to create shared workspaces with internal and external members is useful, users report that one of the best features is the simple file send option that requires only the recipient's email address. Software support has been responsive and effective so far. Cons For the last couple of releases there has been a bug present where the user's name is autopopulated in the search field and it must be manually cleared to see the content of your workspace.
