4.0

Easy interface and user friendly application. Feature which provided are really very useful. Strong technical support team.

### "Stack-Winwater CLE- Mike "

May 15, 2026

5.0

Great! Would recommend. I started with another company for takeoffs but since making the switch I can’t say that I am disappointed. has been great tool for our projects.

Pros

User Friendly, keeps all of my takeoffs that I complete in order and organized. Can leave off and pick up right at the same spot. No confusion.

Cons

Not many issues I’ve had for takeoffs. I work mainly with Civil plans. I like the idea of an AI feature but for civil the plans can get pretty messy.

### "Improvement Ideas"

May 15, 2026

3.0

Pros

Simple & easy to learn. Has potential but should adopt several of the AutoCAD features, see below...

Cons

Room for improvement. A number of ideas: - Option to send areas to back and lock them. This would enable you to click on lines & count symbols without having to hid the area. Same idea for locking highlights. - Develop an AI future to colour areas on elevations. This would be very beneficial for us, leaving more time to analyze details rather than manually colouring areas. - Have an automatic save function and be able to return to previous versions. - Have a function of a 'cutting line' where you can trim all areas, linear quantities at the point of contact with the cutting line, similar to AutoCAD feature. - Option to save overlayed floor plans to review them later.

### "Honest Stack Review"

May 15, 2026

5.0

It has been great! Cross referencing in this program is great and really helps streamline our quoting.

Pros

The value of the product vs cost is great, I had an employee move over from another service and has been amazing at how smooth is. Customer service is amazing

Cons

I would honestly say the lack of AI support for underground utilities projects and waterworks. I understand its hard with how many things arent called out for but it would be nice to have something more there.

### "OK Service"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with has been very positive from a functional standpoint. The core takeoff tools are intuitive, fast, and highly reliable, which has streamlined our estimation workflow. However, the experience is held back by the pricing model. While the software itself works great, the annual price increases for added features we don’t use makes it feel less cost-effective over time. If they offered more flexible, tiered pricing, it would be a perfect solution

Pros

What I like most about is how intuitive and user-friendly the basic takeoff tools are. Cloud-based scaling, auto-count features, and the ease of measuring areas and linear items make the initial estimation process incredibly fast. It dramatically cuts down the time it takes to get an accurate takeoff together, allowing us to bid on more projects

Cons

The pricing structure feels rigid. Every year, new features are introduced and the subscription cost goes up, but our team only utilizes the basic takeoff tools. We end up paying a premium for a bloated feature set that we don't actually need. I’d love to see user-specific or tiered pricing so we aren't forced to pay for upgrades that don't add value to our specific workflow

### "Great but room to improve"

May 15, 2026

4.0

It’s a great solution when you wrap your head around it’s sometimes confusing software layout and somewhat complicated formula system. It’s powerful but not always user friendly or intuitive.

Pros

Modern cloud based software that runs smoothly and doesn’t require a local organization and links to plan files. Powerful flexibility with the use of custom assemblies and formulas if you have the knowledge to create them. Customer support is responsive.

Cons

While the formulas and assemblies allow for great flexibility. There’s also cases where the system forces you to use them to make up for lacking features. Estimates currently only allow pricing directly from 1 measurement type. For instance a volume measurement will only bring cubic yards into the estimate by default. For example if I want to take off a concrete slab. If I use volume 2D type measurement, I’m able to takeoff a polygon area and set the thickness. When I go to estimates I only have the option to price via CY. I would have to utilize formulas and items to pull the SF and price from that. I should just have an option to select the measurements directly from the take off. Vice versa if I use the area take off, now I have SF in the estimate but if I wanted to also have my material volume I need to utilize formulas and items. It’s such an unnecessary pain and it practically ruins the program. Every other estimating program has this flexibility and a have requested this feature time and time again only to be ignored.

### "Mostly Satisfied"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall I like and think it is a really good program for getting a good take off. The only frustrations I have is when things change and I have to figure out where the tools I need are.

Pros

That it has assemblies that can calculate my material for me. I also like all the different tools that are included to make everything clear to anyone who looks at my take off.

Cons

It changes a lot and sometimes it is hard to figure out how to use or shut off the changes. I know there are usually tutorials, but sometimes I don't have time if it is busy.

### "Commercial Construction Estimator"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Overall I like it. This is our go to software for plan reviewing and take-offs. I have tried others and seems more user friendly.

Pros

The ease of use, the accessibility I like that it is web based instead of a software on your PC which typically slows your computer down. I use it for estimating take-offs and love it.

Cons

This is hard to think about because I really like . I guess cost. Perhaps the AI usage could get better. But it might be because I have not used the AI capability very much.

### "Stack Review 2026"

May 18, 2026

5.0

I believe it is a very smooth app that is constantly being improved and upgraded which is nice. Excited to eventually see more AI features, hopefully we see a Autonomous Takeoff feature in the future.

Pros

I enjoyed how smooth the software ran, there were not many glitches or mistakes that the app made. I do not use many features but the ones I did use ran well. I also enjoyed the layout change that was made earlier in the year I think it made the app more efficient.

Cons

I believe needs to add more pdf editor features such as the ability to erase a certain part of the plan or document. I also think when you create a text box or callout, your mouse should automatically click into the text box so you can instantly start typing. The way it is now makes you hit escape out of the text box and then you have to click back into it and change font size to start typing.

### "Good Product"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Positive and trackable. I can mostly follow what has been done. but there should be a notification on the takeoff list that indicates that we have assigned items and or Assemblies.

Pros

Adjustability in relation to Assemblies. allowing me to set my own sections for the project I am working on.

Cons

labor for estimate of work to complete. needs to be individual in our case for every item due to conditions at each site. I need to learn how to get a better itemized take off based on MY assemblies. Also needs to communicate when a suggestion is made, so we can guess if it may or will not be implemented.

### "Solid Takeoff Power with Stack!"

May 21, 2025

5.0

Excellent - the support was great and the account management was helpful. Discounts were offered, but it simply wasn't enough to sway management!

Pros

It's a great product for sure - the drawing compare and quick access to sections/details is fantastic

Cons

The cost - it's a pricey solution for sure. Ultimately, we didn't go with , but it was probably leading our research in terms of what it had to offer.

### "Fast Deployment, Easy to train and use."

July 28, 2023

Our partnership with has a been amazing.

Pros

The simplicity of the takeoff software is great. A new user can be comfortable with the whole program in just a few weeks of use. The tools are powerful and intuitive to use.

Cons

Sometimes the simplicity has its drawbacks. Wouldn't mind more flexibility in symbol size and shapes.

### "Reality vs Perception & Potential"

April 14, 2022

3.0

Not any of our problems yet. Not any reason we bought it, has it created a solution for, but I still see how it can and hopefully will over time, and that is why I am still here. Well that and probably because I don't want to admit that maybe we should have waited till they had a finished product with the kinks worked out. while this may cause eye rolls... Put yourselves in our shoes. If a customer purchases up front, 100% of a roof from me because I showed them a picture of a finished roof and told them it was a complete ready to go finished roof, yet only put on 50-75% of it and then said well I will be back next year to finish the rest, sorry about the inconvenience in the mean time. Would that be ethical? No! It would not, yet that is exactly what ct did to us and that is what iroof did to us, and that is what roofsnap did to us, and that is what adobe does to us, and, and ,and, and it is wrong. These are not the things employees doing the work decide, it is the work of those in charge and investors. So I don't and won't blame the workers, but I do blame the rest of you. Please consider what I have taken the time to share and please be motivated intrinsically to do better!

Pros

I liked the super awesome sales and teaching staff when they can be reached. the support staff excluding 1 that are available and pretty much only by email do not in any way provide the same level of connection, community, support, or personal touch the others do.

Cons

Since all the soft ware companies we reviewed over the last year follow the same pattern of, promise the moon before we buy, show us what it will look like when its finished, but cannot deliver what they promised when they were courting us, because they sell an incomplete project knowing we roped in for a year, it must be ok right? NO! IT'S NOT OK! I had to promise a kidney to get the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] to purchase this product, I showed the perceived time savings, the better product, and etc. Yet when we bought it I was able to show him anything but a prettier product. Do I think we will get there and do I think its a good program? Yes and Yes but it may be as much because I want to believe it is without the actual proof there to definitely say it is. I just hope I can Convince him to let me renew the subscription next year cause it is going to take me all of a year to learn this system well enough to make it pay. Between how much slower i am at turning out these estimates even though they are better, and how many important and promised functions are either not actually functional or they are at not user friendly without 1 on1 help if they are functional etc.

### "Stack for measurements and drawings"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Good, makes our jobs a lot easier and more efficient with the ability to use software. Would recommend.

Pros

The ease of use and convenience for drawings on projects. Marking up and making measurements on drawings also came to mind.

Cons

Our account allows one user to edit at a time which I know is something we can fix but I do wish there was a better way to allow multiple users to edit at the same time.

Overall my experience with has been great. I am pleased with how flawless it is to navigate through the different pages.

Pros

Cons

The least think I like about is that at times it can be difficult to navigate the tools you need to measure.

### "Professional Grade Estimates"

May 15, 2026

4.0

My experience has been excellent. It has reduced our margin of error in bidding significantly. We are winning more profitable work because our estimates are more detailed and backed by solid data.

Pros

The accuracy of the measuring tools is top-tier. I particularly like the "Item & Assembly" structure—it ensures that when I measure a wall, I'm not just getting linear footage, but a full breakdown of studs, drywall, and insulation. The reporting is clean and professional for client presentations

Cons

It’s a premium product and the pricing reflects that. For very small shops or solo contractors, the cost might feel a bit high compared to basic desktop tools, but the time saved justifies it for us.

Pros

I like how easy and user friendly is. The live chat feature is great, anytime I have had a question or needed help I have got the answer within a few minutes.

Cons

Pros

Cons

Pros

Cons

### "Stack is the best estimating software"

July 21, 2023

5.0

I am not an estimator but was a Project Manager and the way I could get exactly what I needed from and even being able to convert data into a CSV was amazing. I wish when I was interviewing an estimator they came across this system because it does take a little bit of transitioning from such a robust software they previously used to our easy system.

Pros

Simplicity yet so much can come from it. There's endless videos on how to use. Building assemblies is such an easy thing to do. Collaboration is also done and you are able to track time spent on each estimate and job cost. Love how great the style is and the way it is kept easy and simple to navigate. Nothing robust.

Cons

Not a lot of people are aware of or believe stack is overpriced. Making this system known to others would be great so that whoever we employ already has Stack knowledge.

### "STACK is one of the most important players on our team!"

July 26, 2023

5.0

The problems we're solving with include material estimating for large scale retail remodels and large custom residential homes. It's important to know how much of what type of materials to order - not too much, and certainly not too little. STACK has helped us save money by not over ordering, due to the fees associated with returns.

Pros

I began using with an employer that I had worked for several years ago. The ease of use, accuracy, and stellar customer support for the times I really needed it is why I have also decided to use STACK to perform estimations on my own for side jobs and have brought it along with me to my current employer for daily bidding and material takeoff use. I couldn't imagine going back to pen and paper.

Cons

Since is constantly improving and rolling out new updates, I can't think of anything off hand that could be added or improved. There have been a couple of times that I called in with requests that were actually implemented into STACK, which really speaks to their attention to their customers.

### "We love it"

July 21, 2023

4.0

Pros

The fact that it is all online and our ops guys can see the plans at the jobsite from their phone.

Cons

I love using your software but there are 2 things that I would like for you to improve.Sometimes I upload multiple pages for a project. When I am working on the takeoff you can see On the left the plans that you are working on listed on listed by plan name . It would be nice to be able to go to the pages that you are working on by simply clicking on the page name that is listed on the left side.Slope factorIts great that we are able to measure the basic slope by using the built in slope factor calculator. But that is only helpful for measuring the basic slope of the roof area and the rake and sidewall. But it would be great if you can add the valley and hip factor as well. It is hard to get the exact measurement without that because the hip / valley slope factor is different than the basic slope of the roof. Please see the link below that will explain what I am talking about in regards to the hip and valley. \[sensitive content hidden\]

### "Great for take-offs!"

October 19, 2021

4.0

CustomerService is truly the best and most responsive! If all you need is take-offs and/or estimating of formal bid projects as a small sub. This is great. If you are looking to hand to someone to take project from ITB to estimate, this will perform well. If you want a software to run project from start to finish or a better way to track the process, results, expect to pair this with a CRM software.

Pros

Take-offs are easy to import, mark-up and change. Worth it for us just for the takeoffs.

Cons

High Cost for additional users. Not a project management software. Estimating gets it partway there but not a good solution to take a project from lead to completion. Estimates and projects not easy to enter unless take-off is done. Sometimes I need to create a quote where a plan is not provided and only field measured. Hence, I do not use for estimating as I don’t want to have some in one place and others in another. Would like to see it integrated with more CRM software services. Would like more options on mark-ups or layers and/or the ability to see/hide mark-ups without losing them.

Reason for choosing STACK

Price, ease of use, quality of customer service.
