Easy interface and user friendly application. Feature which provided are really very useful. Strong technical support team.

Pros

Easy to use product and good functionality and features provided. User friendly product and easy to configure.

Cons

It should provide updates frequently and cost should be very competitive with other options available in market.

### "Stack is a win for the little guys"

May 15, 2026

4.0

The people have been super friendly from the start, and they do always try to help. Being able to use the chat to start support is great as well. I do my best to attend their webinars about new features as well.

Pros

The price was very the right mix of features and dollars when compared to other software like it. We are a small operation and couldn't a high purchase price plus training costs. The training was included for stack, which was great.

Cons

For the roofing industry they do not always seem the most knowledgeable about how to help us. Their examples seem to be plumbing or concrete which doesn't always apply to what we are trying to do.

### "Not a fan."

October 27, 2025

1.0

I've been working with this software for three + weeks and have yet to complete an estimate. I am very frustrated.

Pros

Cloud basing makes protecting data easy and safe. Updates and improvements seem to be automatic so there is no need to install anything.

Cons

Importing material prices is VERY cumbersome. You have to manually import prices which is time consuming. Every item has to be manually entered and often the user has to convert vendor pricing to user pricing, again very time consuming.

### "Stack Review for Demolition in Construction"

May 15, 2026

5.0

I've implemented Stack at 2 construction companies now. One of them as an MEP sub and one as a demolition sub. It's worked great for both if you know how to build it.

Pros

User interface and flexibility for building estimates. Excel formula functionality makes it easy to build take-offs. We're beginning to explore linking Stack with Sage Intacct for accounting which is a great feature if it works as described. Customer support is always quick and responsive.

Cons

The servers sometimes have issues causing lag. There have been a lot of changes to the UI recently which causes a minor learning curve for each patch, but overall, it's not a big deal.

### "We Love Stack!"

May 15, 2026

5.0

We've been using stack for over 5 years now, and I can't see that changing anytime soon. We've had minimal issues with the service, the customer support has always been top-notch, and the platform is great.

Pros

I love that you can access a job from anywhere thanks to Stack's cloud storage service. I can easily create an estimate from the office, home, or in the air. It's also extremely easy to use and get started with.

Cons

I wish Stack offered some multi-year discounts that didn't require an upfront payment. From an actual performance side, however, there's nothing to complain about.

Great! Would recommend. I started with another company for takeoffs but since making the switch I can’t say that I am disappointed. Stack has been great tool for our projects.

Pros

User Friendly, keeps all of my takeoffs that I complete in order and organized. Can leave off and pick up right at the same spot. No confusion.

Cons

Not many issues I’ve had for takeoffs. I work mainly with Civil plans. I like the idea of an AI feature but for civil the plans can get pretty messy.

### "Honest Stack Review"

5.0

It has been great! Cross referencing in this program is great and really helps streamline our quoting.

Pros

The value of the product vs cost is great, I had an employee move over from another service and has been amazing at how smooth stack is. Customer service is amazing

Cons

I would honestly say the lack of AI support for underground utilities projects and waterworks. I understand its hard with how many things arent called out for but it would be nice to have something more there.

### "Great but room to improve"

May 15, 2026

4.0

It’s a great solution when you wrap your head around it’s sometimes confusing software layout and somewhat complicated formula system. It’s powerful but not always user friendly or intuitive.

Pros

Modern cloud based software that runs smoothly and doesn’t require a local organization and links to plan files. Powerful flexibility with the use of custom assemblies and formulas if you have the knowledge to create them. Customer support is responsive.

Cons

While the formulas and assemblies allow for great flexibility. There’s also cases where the system forces you to use them to make up for lacking features. Estimates currently only allow pricing directly from 1 measurement type. For instance a volume measurement will only bring cubic yards into the estimate by default. For example if I want to take off a concrete slab. If I use volume 2D type measurement, I’m able to takeoff a polygon area and set the thickness. When I go to estimates I only have the option to price via CY. I would have to utilize formulas and items to pull the SF and price from that. I should just have an option to select the measurements directly from the take off. Vice versa if I use the area take off, now I have SF in the estimate but if I wanted to also have my material volume I need to utilize formulas and items. It’s such an unnecessary pain and it practically ruins the program. Every other estimating program has this flexibility and a have requested this feature time and time again only to be ignored.

### "OK Service"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with STACK has been very positive from a functional standpoint. The core takeoff tools are intuitive, fast, and highly reliable, which has streamlined our estimation workflow. However, the experience is held back by the pricing model. While the software itself works great, the annual price increases for added features we don’t use makes it feel less cost-effective over time. If they offered more flexible, tiered pricing, it would be a perfect solution

Pros

What I like most about STACK is how intuitive and user-friendly the basic takeoff tools are. Cloud-based scaling, auto-count features, and the ease of measuring areas and linear items make the initial estimation process incredibly fast. It dramatically cuts down the time it takes to get an accurate takeoff together, allowing us to bid on more projects

Cons

The pricing structure feels rigid. Every year, new features are introduced and the subscription cost goes up, but our team only utilizes the basic takeoff tools. We end up paying a premium for a bloated feature set that we don't actually need. I’d love to see user-specific or tiered pricing so we aren't forced to pay for upgrades that don't add value to our specific workflow

### "Mostly Satisfied"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall I like stack and think it is a really good program for getting a good take off. The only frustrations I have is when things change and I have to figure out where the tools I need are.

Pros

That it has assemblies that can calculate my material for me. I also like all the different tools that are included to make everything clear to anyone who looks at my take off.

Cons

It changes a lot and sometimes it is hard to figure out how to use or shut off the changes. I know there are usually tutorials, but sometimes I don't have time if it is busy.

### "Solid Takeoff Power with Stack!"

May 21, 2025

5.0

Excellent - the support was great and the account management was helpful. Discounts were offered, but it simply wasn't enough to sway management!

Pros

It's a great product for sure - the drawing compare and quick access to sections/details is fantastic

Cons

The cost - it's a pricey solution for sure. Ultimately, we didn't go with Stack, but it was probably leading our research in terms of what it had to offer.

### "Very Streamlined, Simple Estimating Utility"

October 18, 2021

5.0

Stack is the customer service I measure all other customer service by. They are friendly, nice and helpful! They are super easy to reach as well from right inside Stack! They don't always have the answers, but if they can find them they will! Their knowledge database in stack is also pretty extensive so it's easy to find most of your easier answers in there yourself.

Pros

Stack is, hands down, one of the simplest solutions I've found for doing takeoffs. Depending on the industry, it's possible it may be too simple, however for the purposes of drywall and paint it is perfect. Building assemblies in Stack really streamlines the whole takeoff process, saving a lot of time and headache when it comes down to the little details. It's also super easy to learn due to how uncomplicated Stack's tool and interface are. You can make things much more complicated for more detailed accuracy, but you don't have to.

Cons

I'd like a few more options when it comes to proposal generation, but this is still a fairly new feature within Stack. Being able to fine tune the formatting would be helpful.

### "Great software for complete project estimating."

July 25, 2023

4.0

The best and single most important is being able to show your work to build faith in your numbers.

Pros

The fact that the takeoff and estimating software is all in one. The automatic pricing allows you to quickly get accurate data that can be customized. The software gives construction professionals the option to be as transparent as they want to be with their data. Clients of mine have won many projects that they weren't the lowest bid, because their customers can see exactly what is included. This gives people faith that they are working with honest contractors that will not change order them by bidding low just to secure the work.

Cons

The BNI features that were included in the upgraded price do not reflect what was advertised by the sales staff when purchasing the software. Needs a lot of work especially in the assembly area.

### "STACK- A savior"

May 15, 2026

5.0

I am 100% satisfied with the product and eager to see future updates, just because multiple people work on a project and we cannot currently track who made the changes.

Pros

I really feel confident while using the estimating feature of it, packaging up with the takeoff and assemblies. Also the customer support is absolutely fantastic. Their new feature of estimating worksheet makes estimate creation way better than ever. The amount of charges we pay it is totally value for money tool in our system. Their continuous efforts in developing the performance and speed is marvelous

Cons

I wish it could have the history feature in project, where you can see who did what previously in that project.

May 15, 2026

4.0

I would say it is an ok experience, but it could be better, I wish that you had the option for turning the snap points on and off just like the cardinal direction for the lines.

Pros

I like the surface area calculations, and how it visually works and functions. It has a nice UI compared to other programs.

Cons

I dislike the estimating workbook. It does not entirely capture how we process our estimates and does not have the flexibility of just exporting it as an Excel sheet and transferring the takeoffs to a workbook.

### "Great tool!"

May 15, 2026

5.0

Very happy with it! I was hesitant at first and it sounded like it was too good to be true but once we started using it, I realized it's a great product

Pros

The software works fantastic and I haven't had any issues and it's really easy to use. As I mentioned below, I was very hesitant about using this software and figure there'd be a bunch of issues where I'd have to create my own workarounds, but it's been seamless

Cons

As of right now, I haven't found anything that I did not like about Stack. It's rare that I buy software where I didn't find anything about it that I do not like. I'm sure people will be very hesitant about using it, but you won't be disappointed

Overall my experience with Stack has been great. I am pleased with how flawless it is to navigate through the different pages.

Pros

Stack is extremely easy to navigate, making it more time efficient. Stack also keeps you very organized.

Cons

The least think I like about Stack is that at times it can be difficult to navigate the tools you need to measure.

### "Professional Grade Estimates"

May 15, 2026

4.0

My experience has been excellent. It has reduced our margin of error in bidding significantly. We are winning more profitable work because our estimates are more detailed and backed by solid data.

Pros

The accuracy of the measuring tools is top-tier. I particularly like the "Item & Assembly" structure—it ensures that when I measure a wall, I'm not just getting linear footage, but a full breakdown of studs, drywall, and insulation. The reporting is clean and professional for client presentations

Cons

It’s a premium product and the pricing reflects that. For very small shops or solo contractors, the cost might feel a bit high compared to basic desktop tools, but the time saved justifies it for us.

Overall it is a great tool for plans and having access, I like how you can open up multiple sheets at once.

Pros

Easy to access plans, when you have multiple jobs and need to look up plans it is ideal tool to switch between different sheets

Cons

Stack has proven to be very accurate for takeoffs. I have used several competitor products and would rank Stack as a top tier product

Pros

The ability to follow/trace curved lines in takeoff during takeoff performance makes the quantity produced much more accurate and much quicker to perform the task

Cons

Platform seems at time to be unstable. I must exit program and restart to eliminate this condition.

Pros

Cons

I wish there was a taper feature. The only reason at this point that I would consider using Edge is because of the taper package system.

Pros

### "Very intuitive."

July 24, 2023

5.0

My experience with Stack has been nothing but pleasant. The software is easy to use "out of the box". If you run into issues with features, the online help/training will likely address your concern. If the online resources do resolve your issue, the Chat feature and timeliness of response will.

Pros

I like the fact that Stack is very intuitive. With minimal training, this software can be used to quantitative takeoffs

Cons

Overlay - to overlay a drawing, the drawing must have the same layout. The overlaid plan cannot be resized or located. This would be beneficial when laying different drawings, (i.e. existing conditions to new work plans).

### "Takeoffs for Concrete Subcontractor"

April 14, 2022

4.0

Its been wonderful. there have been curveballs when beginning to use it but I've been able to figure out ways to fork around them. I do wish that when looking up help online that it was easier to find. I do not care much to talk to people and having the ability to just search my issue is a must.

Pros

I like that I'm able to work with my team on the same server from anywhere I am. The list of projects help us to keep everything together and I like that I can label the projects with my name and what stage they are. the color change to the tab helps me to find the projects I am bidding and ones that I can start on next.

Cons

The assemblies are very basic, I know how to code in java and in excel but the language to make the items for takeoffs are different just enough to aggravate me. I wish there were more mark up functions and that I could close folders to only see one folder of plans and also the ability to sort my open tabs. Another it the ability to open documents in different windows and they both sync without me having to tell it to. I have used on-screen take off and do find this program more user friendly but having used Bluebeam for takeoffs and to review documents, I find this program to be lacking. I like that its a separate program that you download and do not need internet to use. the tools that are available are more programable and you can duplicate you plans to use for more then just a takeoff or mark up.
