They usually try other methods to get mother content & don't succeed... Hightail comes to the rescue! Pros I love the ease of the Desktop "Hightail Express". I do a lot of work with very large files & Hightail makes it very easy for me to share with my clients & for my clients (many of whom are not computer literate) to share with me... This is the best method I have ever used to do so. Pros Sending larger data files is absolutely seamless. Cons There's not really anything to dislike. It's perfect. It took some time for me to get the hang of it, but I feel pretty confident while I'm working on it. Pros I like that the program does not have a size limit. I can set up a project and put documents in the folder without worrying about it bouncing back due to its size. I can also invite people to the projects and send them a link. Cons The least favorite feature is that the program does not allow for folders to be downloaded. Also, sometimes the documents take a little longer to upload and it causes the program to crash. But now Hightail charges three times as much for the service, putting it beyond the price range for a sole proprietor. I'll explore Google Drive and other options now. Too bad. I liked it. Pros Dependability and ease of use. I have never run into a compatibility issue with clients. Cons No cons that I can think of. Keep it inexpensive, please! Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Game Designer Graphic Design Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Useful, But There Are Better Alternatives" November 23, 2021 4.0 The biggest draw for Hightail to me is the ability to upload and share multiple large files with specific people by sorting them into separate projects. The ability to sync with my OneDrive makes it easy for me to upload files from my computer as I'm already using OneDrive in my workflow. The biggest drawback, however, is the price. Unless you're a power user, you can definitely find cheaper alternatives that provides similar level of features. Pros Ability to upload, store and share multiple large files, you can also sort them into projects so its easy to handle more than one projects at the same time. It also syncs from OneDrive and DropBox, which can be useful if you use those services. Cons For its price, unless you're a power user, chances are you'll find better alternatives. It's higher tiered plans are very competitive, and while the same can be said for its cheaper tiers, you may find that it isn't as worth it as what other services offer, which is the case for me. There also appears to be an issue where the email notifications to recipients often end up not being delivered based on my experience, which is a minor issue when dealing with low volume usage. Cons That I can't easily search my past sends and archives. The search function is maddening. I know the files are there but it can't find anything. It makes me with I hadn't archived anything with Hightail at all. Some of my clients have trouble retrieving files I send them. They get prompts to join. They just want the files with no hoops. January 29, 2019 5.0 Have been using Hightail since long before they changed the name. Always my "go to" when doing file transfers, unless a client forced me to use their ftp or other method. Have never had a bad file transfer. Would highly recommend for either their free version or the paid customizable one. Have used both. Have not use the collaboration portal, but expect that it is just as good as the rest of the site. Pros Easy to use. Easily customized. Handles VERY large files easily (within the parameters of your account). Speedy upload. Great dropbox option. Lots of storage available. Cons Can't think of anything that I would change or can complain about. With one click, it's possible to download dozens of large files. In addition, the link to access the files remains active indefinitely. Overall, the service has been very helpful and provided a great value for the cost. Pros It is easy to use. Pros It's very handy and useful, as most of the times I need to send big files I had troubles with standard mails or other services. Cons There are sometimes troubles in the opening of the page and I noticed it depends also on the browser you're using. It would be nice to have a working version for any kind of browser. I haven’t used the feature where multiple people,can work on a file yet, but would like to Cons That you have to send individual documents/images.
