Staff unable to access the internet were accommodated during working hours with my assistance. Pros This was my second year utilizing Bernie Portal for my annual benefit enrollments. It was a breeze. Our Bernie Portal is integrated with ADP and the process was effortless. Cons The Cons are on ADP end, not Bernie. Working on these insignificant hurdles with them. January 23, 2019 5.0 Even though we have only been using it for a short time (approx. 6 months), I have been very pleased so far. Anytime I have an issue or need something customized, my broker works directly with the BerniePortal customer service team and the response time is usually very quick. Pros Bernie Portal has greatly improved our Onboarding and Open Enrollment processes. Having everything captured electronically is a huge time saver for both HR and employees. Cons Would like to see more robust reporting capabilities/options to run custom reports. Currently have to do a lot of manipulation once data is exported. Review Source JK Jeff K. Pros Bernie Portal is mobile-friendly which is helpful because most of our employees work in the field and don't always have access to a computer. It is more user-friendly than our previous software and the customer service is friendly with quick response time. The onboarding of a new hire is simple but saves a lot of time and paperwork. The guys are not computer literate. Pros Somewhat easy to navigate, once I figured out where everything was. Pros The capabilities are very nice, and the main reason I selected Bernie is because they build the site for me Cons Communication process is poor. I believe that your product would go from good to great if you had a dedicated customer support line that handled broker and client questions. Now, I have to go through the same person who builds the system. He is super nice and good at building sites, but he is often unavailable because he is building other sites (as he should be). For example, getting simple questions answered to COBRA was quite a challenge and setting up COBRA to much longer than it should have. Communication was the real issue Review Source DC Deborah C. Pros My employees found it easy to use for open enrollment. I like the summary sheets that I can store digitally for each employee. Cons the reporting function is awful - lack of filters and sorting options. No ability to open limited benefits for corrections - employee must reselect all benefits. Updates can be made with ease, new employees can be set up without difficulty, and administrative staff can see things without a ton of digging. Pros New users are able to pick-up on how to use the software rather quickly. Managing staff can streamline required paperwork, and everything is kept in one place. Cons The reporting functions are not as exact as I would like- I can not run a report to see a change - the report shows me everything. example new employee make thier elections- I cannot see the election they made I have to run a report and look at everyone elections. Pros Has a lot of cool features but the look and feel are very outdated. Layout is easy to use and easy to navigate. Cons The system has a lot of potential but the look and feel of the program are old and extremely outdated. If some upgrades were made it would be great. Review Source Jennifer T. Cons It did not work, the reports it created were literally nonsense. The information that BerniePortal uses to generate reports is the information that is inputted into the system. We recommend checking to see if data you are trying to pull is entered into the correct fields. If you are looking for support, we recommend working directly with your health insurance broker. This individual has gone through extensive, on-site training and can offer you the quality support you are looking for. For HR features, BerniePortal does have an Employer Success team that can help with specific questions. Lastly, we encourage you to use the BerniePortal Knowledge Base as an ongoing support tool. Pros To generate any reports, Get an emailany notification of the changes made by employees; elections, personal information change. Send an email reminder to new employees to complete enrollment. It is very easy to use. Pros I liked that it was easy for MOST of my employees to set up. Cons Open Enrollment, it would have been nice to just be able to print out each persons cart in a PDF to enter new rate deductions in my payroll system. Review Source GD Gail D. January 22, 2019 5.0 I was resistant at first, thinking "just one more thing I have to spend time on to benefit a vendor to be used in a marketing or data mining effort". The census was extra work, but the time spent was worth the email notices as employees completed the enrollment (no missed deadlines!) and receiving the summaries for payroll item entry. Pros It is extremely convenient to have each employee's summary for payroll management. Cons There were one or two items which were tricky to decipher. For example, if an employee selects life insurance, the amount of coverage specified in the employer's contract with the insurer should auto fill. We had one employee who had elected coverage but had an amount of zero on coverage. It was corrected manually. Review Source CB Carrie B. Good Experience overall Pros Convenient and nice to keep up with the medical benefit paperwork. The employee can do the paperwork online and sign and then I can print. August 28, 2017 5.0 Ease of administration for both the employees and HR teams. Pros The software is extremely easy to use and understand for both employers and employees. The features are far greater than the majority of other software choices out there. Cons The payroll integration I think. I know the software isn't intended to be a payroll system, but the question I get asked the most is if it does payroll as well. I'd say about 50% of my clients and prospects voice that they'd like it to also do payroll, not just integrate. Also would be nice to have an Android app, not just an app for the iPhone. I believe it is just going to take some time to get the "bugs" out and get the product molded to our needs. Pros What I like most is being able to onboard new hires and staff can elect benefits directly on the portal Cons We have had some difficulty getting the correct forms in for onboarding and some of the offerings for some of the benefit products were not correct on the Bernie system during the election period and caused problems getting staff enrolled Review Source KV Karen V.
