We found TargetProcess very easy to use, but it is also highly configurable and feature rich. We have really been impressed with it's capabilities and it has made it very easy to track and manage our project.

Pros

Of the many pro's, the ones that I most appreciate include ease of use in managing the Kanban board, and the ability to easily create custom views as appropriate for the project.

Cons

I really don't have any criticisms of the software at this point.

We're a software development company and the platform is working well for us so far. We have different projects (one for each client) and using scrum for process. Sometimes I have the need for some specific reports like Burn Up chart and some other features and the Customer Support was always there to help me and explain what do they have and if they will develop some kind of feature. I'm still struggling with my clients because I cannot add them as a user because it will consume a license (and in some projects I need to have more than 5 people with an overview) and they should be able to post comments or create requests so I'm still using Trello to communicate with everyone and a public view in target process so they can se what is being done and the backlog.

Pros

The company gives the opportunity to use its services for free - this should become the norm in the market of the XXI century. The first thing that catches your eye when using Targetprocess is the provision of a cloud storage with unlimited volume.

Cons

The service is not represented in the Russian localization, but this is not such a big problem. The ease of use affects the lack of a version for Windows.

Overall, Targetprocess is an easy solution to track, plan and grow your product. I recommend it for anyone looking for an alternative to other tools.

Pros

One of the things scrum managers like about Targetprocess is the visual features. When you bundle visuals into project management, you cut through the clutter of missing variables. Targetprocess offers a robust visual module that allows you to graph and create elegant models to represent project variables. Another nice thing is their reporting feature. Face it, reporting is critical to burn rates. With so much flexibility, this tool is a great solution for anyone looking to maximize manpower and efficiencies.

Cons

The cons I think need to be considered are integration and flexibility with third-party tools. Working on projects often requires you to use a handful of other tools. Being able to integrate Targetprocess into other software development tools would be ideal.

From the first day of use I was delighted by the system ! It is visible the attention to detail that has been applied in the development, from the moment we read the documentation we can see it was an intelligent design (look for the domain model). It is versatile enough to apply in different contexts, here we started using the IT and come to prepare it for processes of other areas such as finances and human resources. Despite the advantages, the system is still somewhat complex to use and set up, but with a little effort we can do wonders. We ended up discontinuing the use in other areas because at the time the system was available only in English, which is not our native language, but we can now count on internationalization as well.

TargetProcess has got everything covered. All the tiny details like the automatic calculation and storing actual start date, duration an entity stays in any process state, the reports, the almost all possible knows views with a terrific UI. I have been dying to have both in-line editing and opening one item details in the same software. The only slight thing with the UI is that when i think of business users who are not tech-savvy (rare species, but they exist), i feel they might get overwhelmed and may want to reduce a few items. And in reports, they have a tiny miny bias against "printed" reports. Although you can create any report you want, converting into an equally stunning printed version is a bit hassle.

Whenever I have a problem, support is quick to respond. There have been some features that I wished were in the product that haven't been added. Some have been added, overall a good product. Like any software, there are some bugs, but nothing that has greatly affected us. The biggest missing feature right now is the ability to determine and "set" average velocity based off of previous X number of sprints. If they added that, it would make planning much easier.

The primary feature of TargetProcess is the features board which helps a lot in a project discovery phase. It works like a sticky note dashboard, where one can plan and prioritize the tasks and define them within specific milestones. The reporting feature works great as well within this tool.

Pros

Helps with people allocation and helps managing their activities easily.

Cons

The user interface can definitely improve from the current way.

There are some features missing, such as running average velocity predictions and the ability to easily split stories in a sprint when NOT using tasks (Dev effort finished but QA effort hasn't, so split story into next sprint to realize the dev effort for velocity). But this software does seem to be quite customizable. I also wish I could clone a folder full of views instead of just cloning at the view level, for when I need to spin up another development unit.

Often project management can become a sort of a labor intensive contract - something you know you should do, but are not sure what the gains are for all the effort involved. Target Process removes the tedium and makes Project Management rewarding again. Target Process gives you confidence in your data, so it no longer is just 'that thing' you need to do but a source of truth, and a single point of knowledge whereby you can get quantifiable trends and data from the tool. The fact that it looks nice and is easy to use, are just bonuses. Definitely would suggest giving it a trial, you won't go back to anything else, and if you have any issues their support is immediate and ever-present to help you out.

When I make decision to start using some software to manage our programming tasks I have tried about 20 different solutions - Jira, Planbox, VersionOne and others. Some of them has no functionality that I want, some was to complex, some required additional plugins and tuning. When I've tried TargetProcess I immediately realized - it is IT! TP perfectly matched my idea of XP - every feature is on the right place. It's not free, but it worth it!

I am a Solutions Designer for epay. My main role is to design functional and technical requirements for specific projects. TP in general is easy to use and my only complaint would be around character limits and the format bar. We use a section for Acceptance Criteria and large requirements can run out of room quickly. We get around this by placing main descriptions and screenshots in the larger description section. For either section, once you enter enough data, the format ribbon is static and doesn't scroll as the page continues. This forces a user to scroll up and down to select format options if they do not know the keyboard shortcuts.

I'm new to the TP. At first glance a little hard to figure out what's what. But then it becomes easy. Working with TP comfortably. I was pleasantly surprised when our company came consultant with the TA and my colleagues and I have discussed issues of concern to us.

I like TargetProcess because it has a great set of functionalities. You can easily view the current sprint or past sprints, can add a User story or defect from anywhere and the best thing is that you can create personalized views.

Pros

Can create personalized views that are very useful to track stories in sprints.

Cons

Nothing. I haven't found a bug in it yet.
