There's an active developer community and the team at TargetProcess invariably respond quickly with a can-do attitude, no matter how in-depth or niche the request is. Cons Some non-technical users report difficulty in navigating the interface, there being many different ways to complete the same task and lots of detail shown at once. It took a dude at our company really considering our own process and customizing the workflow to fit that, and we were off and rolling. Swimlanes with the ability to drag items in and out, up and down. Tasks on stories with their own swimlanes. Communication and notification options that are easy to contol. TP is the hub of everything. You want it done? Create a request. That's the way we do business and work, thanks to TargetProcess. Bear in mind, it doesn't just happen automatically--you need an organizationally-minded individual or two to get the vision, learn the platform, and make it happen, but we've made this the hub of every operation at our company. Pros Extreme flexibility, with a solution for every workflow in a software development environment Cons Tough to set up initially, without a sharp couple of folks to own it, learn it, and get it going in the org. I was using Targetprocess for Product and Project Management. Pros Targetprocess is a very versatile tool that allows you to customize a lot of the workflow and cards. I loved working with this tool after I got past the UI. Cons The Interface is a bit harsh. Once you learn the ins and outs of the tool, it grows on you. It was great for Product Management. Cons We have 40-50 people distributed in 5-8 teams, it's comum share public views and reports. Agile Project Manager Banking Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great piece of software" June 27, 2016 5.0 We tested a number of different project management systems (Trello, Basecamp, Jira software among others) before finally finding Target Process. Target Process had all of the features and the flexability we missed in the others. Its really simple to use for i.e. the developers who needs to focus on other things, and the PM can go as deep into the details as wanted. The only pms that has not had any complaints from any role (other systems have been great for ie the project manager and not the developer and vice versa). We have been using it for almost a year and we have never looked back. Really recommend it. Pros Simple to use, logical, easy to get a quick overview or to drill down in to the details. Its really flexibel - lots of pre-defined templates to start from (Scrum, Kanban, Test etc) but you can set it up exactly how you what to suit your needs. Also great support if you need help. Cons Miss a connection to dropbox and the UI could be better (one pm had an issue using it because it didn't look cool - true story). Also in "in-system communication" system is not as good as i.e. Trello, especially with the app. (But we use a web-hook to connect it to Slack which is really cool :-) ) Review Source CB Carlos B. It has enabled me to collaborate with several people over time. It lets you master - and quickly put to practice - Agile Methodologies for software development. There are many ways to do things, this makes it easier to learn. Very easy to customize to the specific workflow of your organization. You can tailor your menus, dashboard and views to quickly access the information you need. Very reliable, never had a problem with it. Constantly improving: making updates, fixing bugs (which I haven't even seen) and adding new features. I have used it professionally at work, in my own business, and I am so pleased with it, that I constantly suggest it to developers team I meet with. A software company without a software like this (or not as good as this one), will under-perform, loose competitive edge ... and eventually fail. Pros Very reliable. Fully customizable. Easy to use. September 21, 2018 5.0 I'm very happy with this system, having reviewed around 10 when starting out putting in place an "agile"/ "any" development process in place, this stood out. Have since implemented (the first thing I done) as my new role with a new company. Pros Very easy to get up and running, was able to implement the software they way I felt suited my developer's processes. Cons It has a lot of functionality - more than my team will ever use, a smaller (cheaper) option would be nice, I raised this with support, they have had the request before but it isnt easy to create a smaller product that would suit everyone, fair point. The latest version (3) is a flexible and dynamic interface that allows you to shape the tool around your processes, whilst making it easy to track progress and raise standards. Pros The web UI, filtering and searching capabilities. The product allows us to manage a development team whose time is split across projects. I especially like the introduction of Team Iterations, rather than Project Iterations so it is possible to manage set periods of time into which a team can report across multiple projects. Cons Some actions are more difficult to do in bulk than in their previous web interface (v2). I hope it will be introduced soon. It was a good tool as we were able to clearly write all the attributes and keep track of the progress of the bug report, it really helped with communication once it was properly set. Cons The only bad thing about it is that as it is such an open platform and you can set it up as you want, you really have to spend a lot of time at the beginning making sure that the whole organization adopts it the same way. As a member of an IT organization we are offering cutting edge solutions to our company users, but our own tools are, lets say not so 'edgy'. As the leader of a solution team, I was looking for a tool which can serve as a commonly used data repository and will replace the almighty Excel sheets. With Targetprocess we handle now demand management, release planning, progress reporting and time backreporting for several software products. The system is easy to use and you do not need to be a very technical person to create your own views. My stakeholders like Target Process, because they can see real time what is going on and I like it, because I do not have to provide so many progress reports as I needed to. Another very good feature of Targetprocess is its flexibility. It enabled us to implement our whole process (5 involved teams, defined handover points) within the limits of standard customization which we could do ourselves. Pros The feature that I found incredible in it is that it can robust all the required operations, powerful automation, manual synchronization of ALM and PPM and in eliminating plugins in a wonderful way. The integration is my best part in it which improves the productivity of my work. Apart from this web based application allows you to perform field mapping in a better way. Cons Rarely certain errors occurs but that was nothing bigger to be mentioned otherwise indeed a good application for all purposes. There is really no major thing to be dislike about it. Pros Ease of use when you want to create a new board, also the boards configuration is very powerful, with lots of possibilites of filtering and visualization tips. Despite this, if you have any doubt or question you can contact with their support team by on-line chat, every time I contacted they have solved my doubts. Cons Lack of information and/or manuals about DSL language to edit or build new reports. Actually brought usage of it from my previous company to my current company based on my usage of it in the past. We were using Jira, but soon as I came in and showed what we could be doing, we quickly made the switch. Very versatile and adaptable, which makes it easy to fit to your own business needs. The SW has been a lifesaver when it comes to planning our internal and external releases. I've haven't been in contact with Customer Support, nor do I have any idea of the price for the system - therefore I cannot really answer the last two points... Pros Nice interface in general, easy to use. Intuitive way of assigning work for certain releases. Cons Filter functionality is good, but a bit "messy" and not very user-friendly. There is no really good way (that I have found) to highlight milestones and User Stories/Features/Epics in the time plan. Review Source JH Jared H. It is easier to setup than a full-blown Jira instance, and provides the most useful tools and capabilities without too much effort. It also has decent support for custom webhooks and other more advanced needs. Pros Target Process is very customizable, very affordable, and constantly developed - all while being relatively simple to configure for small to medium businesses. It handles agile project management easily and naturally. Cons The target process UI seems to be built on a framework that is dated. Roadmaps are woefully underdeveloped (though missing altogether from similar priced competitors), and the movement of cards and column adjustments appears to be a few years behind in its handling. Some of our team leaders use Targetprocess only to manage their entire team. Targetprocess is easy to use and easily configurable on any system as it is web based. We managed also to quite easily integrate it with git. Cons VERY long learning curve. Hard to migrate to from Trello in our example. Has also some bugs every now and then.
