September 14, 2018 5.0 Our process was very scattered, and difficult to remember what was done, by who, and no notes anywhere. Everything was in our head, which made tracking down later issues nearly impossible. Targetprocess brought order to the chaos, and no we have a way to check details on projects completed several years ago! Pros I love the many different ways the software can be customized. It is very flexible, and every time I thought "Oh, it would be nice if..." a little digging proved it possible. Cons Strengths are also prone to be weaknesses, and the number of features can make it hard to find a handy feature later, or where you made a change. The documentation is good, but sometimes hard to know what to ask, and impossible if you don't know the right terminology. Review Source JD Joseph D. Targetprocess has handled literally everything we've thrown at it. I hear other talking about how they wanted to do a unique process in one part of their workflow, but couldn't because of the limitations of their system. That is not the world I live in. Targetprocess is built for customizability. Asana is great for task collaboration, but it falls short on visualization, particularly with Kanban and Scrum boards. Targetprocess is built for this very purpose. If you're looking for a project/portfolio management software, particularly if you run Kanban or any flavor of Agile, you owe it to yourself to spend some time in this product. Not long ago, we looked around again at other options for cheaper. Nothing solved the problems with the same flexibility, customizability and UX as Targetprocess. Pros: We have 4 cross-functional teams working with 4 separate processes. That has been a cinch to handle with Targetprocess. Everything from complex reporting and data insights to very custom workflows and notifications have been possible with their tools. You can even add your own mashups to extend the functionality. Cons: We used Asana previously and task creation was almost as fast as typing a list of to-dos. Targetprocess is a bit slower than that for creating multiple tasks/stories, since they reside as cards instead of just list items. With so much customizability/flexibility, it can take some time to understand what the software can \*really\* do. Review Source JH Justin H. You can even work with the phone, because the developers have made a convenient application. The application interface is well thought out, it is convenient to monitor workflows and schedule tasks. Cons I often encounter a display error when I use Sprint Plan. Backlog appears instead of list and history. Pros The great thing about Targetprocess is that they separate the raw information from how you view it. Why this is important, is because it give you full control of how you view your data. Most project management solutions have some predetermined ways they expect their software to work, and this isn't always what you wanted, but with Targetprocess, you are in control. Cons What makes it so great, the separating of data and how you view it, can also be frustrating sometimes. It's like the age old argument between PC and Mac: Sometimes you want your software to hold your hand a little, and not give you too many options (which can be overwhelming). Review Source Emily F. I can honestly say that I can do my work better and more effectively as a result of this tool. It has also brought to light a few short comings in our internal processes, that we can now easily manage. Thank you so much! Pros The views, obviously :) But generally how easy it is to find what I am looking for. We implemented a few simple naming conventions and the result is effortless feature/user story/task management. It's very flexible and I can only be impressed with the underlying architecture. And yet, when the time came to renew, we found the price was just too high. We're a small group (5 devs) working on multiple projects so perhaps that's why the fit wasn't perfect. Pros Very flexible, can be adapted to fit any workflow. It does everything you would want with Scrum tracking - we can create iterations/sprints, measure velocity, assign stories to people, create tasks underneath that, etc. The only thing I would suggest is that if you are new to Scrum/Kanban, because it has so many more features, TargetProcess can have a steeper learning curve than simpler tools such as Trello. Pros It's brilliant for Kanban/Scrum tracking. Cons The learning curve is steep. This is not really the fault of Target Process. But more because there is so much functionality, it takes a while to learn it all.
