And the customer support truly is amazing, responsive, and quick and easy to access. Pros Excellent customer support that's quick and easy to access, with knowledgable staff who are responsive. And the price is right for my minimalist needs, that is, needing to port and maintain my phone number to make/receive calls and texts while living overseas. Cons I don't like that there's no interface between my phone's (or Gmail's) contacts and therefore caller ID basically serves no purpose, and I have to copy/paste numbers from my phone's contact list in order to make a call or text through Tossable Digits. I don't like that the robocall feature autoblocks many important calls that aren't robocalls. I don't like that I can't delete or otherwise clear out my text messages or call logs. I don't like how I have to go through the desktop browser to use the "Configure" feature to do simple things like block a number. The software overall is clunky and laborious and could be streamlined to be more user-friendly. That said, it gets the job done at a reasonable price. Review Source PZ Philip Z. Pros Being able to seamlessly review and accept calls and texts as I travel internationally has expanded my business opportunities ten fold! Cons I haven't found anything that has not exceeded my expectations using Tossable Digits so this question is NA. Review Source jH joe H. you dont need to know Staffing and Recruiting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Bad information on onset of services which in the end cost more than I saved" April 5, 2019 1.0 I ported my number from cricket to tossable digits for my trip to south america for 5 months in order to save my number of 20 years which is tied to my business and a lot of word of mouth referrals. I did not want to pay for cricket while abroad while not be able to use it. It seemed like a great solution. They assured me that I could port it back when I returned. However, as it turns out one can't port back to cricket. One can port back to t-mobil or AT&T or Verizon. All of which are more expensive and require me to buy a new phone which I don't need. Cricket can use my existing phone but I need a new number. So I thought perhaps I could forward calls from tossable digits to this new cricket number but then I not only would I have to keep paying them a monthly fee but also pay per minute for every forwarded call. The whole point of this was to save money not spend more. When I tried to complain on their chat I get no response and just taken to the the review of chat page. This happened several times once we got to the point where they have no answer for me. They just don't respond and disconnect the chat. Nice. Pros was a way to save my number while abroad without paying for my cell phone service that I could not use. The problem - did not work as they claimed and i could not port my number back. Cons Could not port my number back to my carrier even though they said I could before I purchased their services. also glitches in system - did not receive emails for voice mail after a few months. they never could fix it. With Tossable Digits I can stay in communication with all my contacts, no matter where I am or they are. Pros It is easy to setup virtual phone numbers. A history is kept of recent calls and messages which can be reviewed and deleted. The fact that emails are sent with recorded messages is a great help. Cons The only way to access the account, messages, and history is by going through the website. I understand that an app is being developed that can be used on the phone. If all the features that are available on website are available on the app, it should be a great help. Pros I liked that they had an app where I could port my number and still receive phone calls to my USA number forwarded to my UK phone. Easy to use. Cons I have missed several important text messages (one involving the death of a friend's father) because Tossable Digits does not receive group texts. If someone is texting your ported number directly it's not a problem at all but group threads are never delivered. Also, sometimes the touch keypad on the Outdial doesn't pick up the touch to the number and you have to hit the number a couple of times. Switched from [Google Voice](https://www.capterra.com/p/210592/Voice/) Google would not let me forward live calls from my USA number to my UK number. They wanted it to go to a voicemail. I needed to be able to have inbound calls and outdial in real time. I recommended it to another expat in London who has signed up and another expat in Doha. Pros I like how inexpensive the software is. I used it to port my number while out of the country. Saving my number for when I got home. The customer service was exceptional. I like that it integrated well with my contacts, and did not have to add additional information. Cons I don't like that the text messages send multiple times for one message. I don't like the appearance and easy of use. Seems like a really old interface and sometimes takes a while to load. I also had issues recieving verification texts from Microsoft, which posed to be really problamatic. I don't think there is much TD can do to fix that issue but it made use difficult. Most phone companies charge twice as much with a contract. Very glad to have found Tossable Digits to sort out these pesky texts and also the ease of making calls when traveling abroad. It took me a while to find this company on a FB group and now I mention it on other expat groups! Cons For some reason the Notification does not show up on my Iphone. I have to go into the app to see it Switched from [Dingtone](https://www.capterra.com/p/245848/Dingtone/) I had a temporary problem with Dingtone short code SMS with Bank of America. They did resolve it after a week but it hampered my access to the bank which was disastrous! Most of the ones out there are for large corporations that are too complex for my needs, with little flexibility! Also, when I contacted customer service, I was really impressed with their FAST and top notch, personable assistance! Cons I wish there was an easier way to upload outgoing voicemail greetings. Especially living overseas, it’s so helpful to be able to maintain a US phone number, especially with the functionality TD offers. Pros I found Tossable Digits as I was preparing to leave the US to live in Central America In late 2017. Knowing I needed to maintain a US phone number, I was happy to find the TD solution to preserve my US cell number, along with the functionality of being able to receive voicemail and texts. When the ability to receive SMS texts In real time became a feature a few months later, I was even happier that I’d chosen TD. One never thinks about the ease of using two-step verification, which is ubiquitous these days, until we’re locked out of an account because we can’t receive a text code. I was also very satisfied with the customer service and price. Cons I honestly cannot think of anything that is a con. When I was looking for a job last year, I was even able to send in an outgoing message recording, which the TD staff uploaded for me. I love this software and don’t know how people living outside the US function without it. October 21, 2019 5.0 Pros First off, their customer service is perfect. Again, I don't usually review in those terms, but I can't say enough good things about them. They're real people, they respond very quickly, professionally, and they're friendly. If I had to use one word to describe their customer service members, it would be ACCESSIBLE. The service, for our needs, was exactly what we needed and at an appropriate rate. We moved abroad for a temporary period of time but didn't want to lose our numbers (nor did we want to pay the rate of a "normal" carrier for the time we were away). We used the pay-as-you-go plan, which included saving our numbers, forwarding our calls and texts. If we wanted to answer the forwarded calls in real-time, then there were additional fees. If we wanted the calls to go to voicemail, then we'd get an email with the recording. Our texts also came to us over email. The emails with our VMs and texts were prompt and accurate. It was such an EASY service to use and has all the right features. My husband and I have moved abroad again and have signed up with TD. I really can't say enough good things about this company. The software, price, and customer service are all on point. Cons The only drawback was that when we finally decided on a carrier upon our return, it turned out TD wasn't able to work with them. It has very straightforward features and a well-designed app. It has allowed me to keep my American number active and operational while I am working abroad with a different phone number. Cons I wish the SMS numbers had caller ID or their contact name attached to them, if relevant. It's hard to keep track of the messages because it's just a list of numbers and you can't see which of your friends they belong to. I am able to use that phone number and still receive text and verification messages I need. This alone makes the software worth it for me. Pros I like that I can get text messages via email, especially verification texts from companies. Cons I don't know everything that it can do for me. I don't know how texting/emails work from my end. What kind of response does the other person get, an email or a text? Same goes for calls. I apparently have call forwarding because I get calls in the middle of the night from my home country but are they getting charged long distance rates and don't know? I would have liked more information about what I'm actually getting. The entire experience was painless and extremely straightforward. I would recommend this service for anyone that has a need to port their number or forward messages and voicemails. Pros It was extremely easy and straightforward to port my number and set up voicemail/texting forwarding options. I really liked the simplicity of the service. When I finished using Tossable Digits and wanted to port my number back to a cell service provider, Tossable Digits’ customer service got back to me within minutes and was extremely helpful! There was no hassle at all ending the service. Cons When I used Tossable Digits, there was no app to be able to look at or respond to messages or voicemails; instead I had everything forwarded to my email and if I wanted to respond to a message, I had to go to their website and manually respond. Also messages only had phone numbers associated with them (there was no way that I knew of to import contacts) so I often had to look up the number in my contacts to figure out who I was speaking to. Owner Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "A virtual number that works with most US banks OTP" October 4, 2022 5.0 To be able to retain a US number that can receive OTP prompts in the most cost effective way Pros I had very specific needs that I was looking for to use the service with and that is having the ability to receive OTP via a SMS on a US number and fortunately, it has worked on most of the banks that I have accounts with. The monthly pricing was also very reasonable compared to getting a phone/data plan from carriers. Cons I had very specific needs that I was looking for to use the service with and nothing else. The ability to receive OTP via a SMS on a US number was all I needed to work and so far I had no problems using the service yet.
