We implemented Propel in early 2023 and it has been very effective for us in managing documentation, engineering changes, corrective and preventive actions, nonconformances, and more. The flexible, configurable solution allows us to find creative methods to meet business needs, and the dashboarding and reporting tools that come with the Salesforce platform allow easy real time data monitoring and analysis.

Pros

Excellent support, highly configurable, great reporting tools. Covers almost everything we need from a PLM/QMS system.

Cons

Administration is sometimes complex. Validated system updates sometimes lag non-validated system updates significantly.

Neutral. There is a lot of great material in how the tool works and development is completed but as a developer, I spend a lot of time figuring out how the tool is setup rather than doing actual development work.

Pros

Support team is always available and provides solutions in a timely manner. They are always willing to hop on a call and work through troubleshooting.

Cons

Out of the box functionality is quite confusing. Due to being hosted on Salesforce, the development is quite different than standard Salesforce development so there is quite a large learning curve.

It was a great experience to network and meet Propel Staff in person. The user group was a great way to learn how others are using the system.

Pros

The user group and the live demos to the new Propel features. The guest speakers were great as well! I enjoyed all the AI discussions.

Cons

The user group session room was too small and hard to hear the speakers. If each session had its own room, it would have helped.

to me it looks like any other document control system. It does not have any feature that stands out.

Pros

It is very flexible, can be set up based on the intended purpose. The user interface is straightforward.

Cons

there are lots of bugs. for example creating and exporting PDF reports do not work. or after we updated to a news revision last year, there was a limitation on File lenghts that was not there before. these issues atre fixed in subsequent releases However, for us to upgrade we need to go through a validation process that is costly and time consuming.

Powerful application that has seemingly unlimited possibilities for managing our QMS and PLM. I also like the easy configurable features. The Propel academy is fantastic for the new users to learn.

Cons

I have not found the cons yet. We are new to Propel. So far, the experience was very positive personally.

Pros

We are just starting with propel, and we're loving it!! It is so easy to personalize for your needs. There are many useful functions that you are able to utilize with your company

Cons

Implementation was a little tricky, but their support is amazing!! They're are a few areas that we would like to be modified and propel is amazing at listening to our needs and are willing to work to make it satisfactory for us!

We are very pleased with our decision to migrate to Propel from our previous solution provider. We have gained real-time visibility into product data and processes, enabling better decision-making and faster time-to-market.

Pros

Ease of use and seamless integration with Salesforce. Its strong BOM layout and engineering change order (ECO) functionality is particularly helpful for managing product data and revisions

Cons

There was a learning curve that was somewhat difficult for our users who were unfamiliar with Salesforce. Slow performance when handling large attachments.

This was my first time attending Propulsion, and it was a great experience connecting with various customers. I gained a lot from the interactions and am taking back many valuable ideas.

Pros

A well-structured and interactive series of sessions that offered valuable learnings and best practices from various customers, along with insights into Propel’s new features. The demo sessions were especially helpful in gaining an in-depth understanding.

Cons

The subject-specific sessions could be extended slightly to allow more time for the demos followed by more room for questions

Ive had a smooth "end user" experience with Propel as its very self explainatory and user friendly. Very easy to figure out if you are at all slightly familiar with operating systems. I have only had challenges with getting clear and direct communication from our Propel support and leadership team when it comes to me asking for full viability and access to all of the modules includes in our licenses.

Pros

I love how inclusive Propel is for most all our business needs. I also love the ease of integrating with our current systems.

Cons

I highly encourage Propel to rethink their offering strategy. If a cuatomer pays for specific licenses, then the included modules for that license should be visibly available to the customer to configure and start using on day one. Should the customer need assistance, then they could enlist the help of the Propel Support team. It does not make any sense to pay for offerings, yet not be able to take advantage of them unless you pay additional fees to have Propel set them up for you. I highly recommend a "base version" of an out of the box experience for all modules within each license.

The time it took to get to the conclusion, although this is not a con, it was all the negative I could come up with

Pros

Propel’s integration of QMS and PLM in a single platform is a major advantage. It provides a unified system for managing product development and quality processes. And the configurability allows us to tailor workflows and user interfaces to match our business needs.

Cons

The quality events processes are not as intuitive as other system. The high configurability requires a deep understanding of the system and can lead to a higher learning curve.

Pros

Easy and effecient Integration with Salesforce. This provides a seamless integration with other applications such as inventory management and sales.

Cons

Wish propel had an inventory management and manufacturing capabilities. But happy with the service we have now.

In general, is a good experience, easy to use for most of the part, facilitates the search of information like procedures, drawings and Finish Goods BOM structure among other things.

Pros

Not sure at which degree IA is incorporated but there is a lot of common sense searches and queries you can ask to Propel and it delivers.

Cons

I guess ut depends on how is configured but there some views where I wish I have more details or when creating reports can get confusing and sometimes you don't get the specific information in one single report.

Pros

Propel is a very flexible platform that allows the team to adapt to certain business needs. It's also a plus that Propel's team is very much partnership driven group that they give their focus on your business and its needs.

Cons

None because of the above reasons. If there are any issues, what makes it irrelevant is the fact that they prioritize your needs and helps you find solution.

The overall experience has been good. The product is easy to use and offers a lot of customizability. Very happy!

Pros

I think Propel is a great product. I like the ease of use, BOM layout, ECO process, and customizability. The Customer Success team is FANTATIC! They go above and beyond to help us at every turn.

Cons

The export of the BOMs needs some refinement, the ability to have Revisions on the BOMs is a critical need that is not available in Propel.

Propel has been a valuable tool in automating our Quality Management System. Our team compliance with training has improved dramatically, and the administration of training requirements has also become much easier.

Pros

Propel allows us to automate/computerize Change Control and training, which were the two most laborious Quality Management System processes to manage using a paper process. The functionality and features were mostly easy to understand.

Cons

Running reports and getting some basic metrics was harder than I would've liked.

Pros

Our end users have never been happier since we have migrated to Propel. Daily, they are thinking of ways to implement new modules or make improvements to the existing ones! Instead of complaining about an archaic system, they are excited to build our custom solution.

Cons

Determining what is Propel specific and what is Salesforce native takes some time getting used to.

Ok, Some things are very good and I like. Others such as changes to page layout function, permissions and e-sig is a hassle.

Pros

versioning controls and options available for different business needs.

Cons

Signing off is an issue for many users. Causes frustration, lockouts, late training and lack of compliance as users just give up and ignore.

I didn't choose this option, I came in after it was implemented.

Pros

Easy to use and great modern look. But most importantly, it gets the job done.

Cons

Hard to configure initially. It takes tie to learn all the background function to control the front end that the user sees.
