Pros

There are a lot of offerings out there now for SMS texting with a phone number that can also be called and received on your cell phone with your app. I have tried a few and looked at several others. My needs are simple and I don't want to be locked into paying a monthly fee that is many times my usage needs and with a lot of features I don't need. I have found Textmagic to be nearly perfect for my needs. It is reliable and easy to use and for me the pay-as-you-text model has been perfect as my needs vary from month to month. I highly recommend this product!

Cons

You used to be able to set up a group and send a group text, say to a group of past customers in your contacts that you want to give a special offer to. However, this feature was removed in the latest version. I really want that feature back. Other than that, I think this is a great product.

It’s easy to set up and use for the most part. There are a few small challenges along the way Like validating your text for sending “mass texts“. Those didn’t take long to do but did take a little time and thought (and that would be true at any of their competitors). Importing contacts is as easy as importing a CSV or Excel file. I love being able to schedule the text and use that frequently. It’s easy to respond to replies via my phone and my standard messaging app.

Pros

Straightforward, ability to: import contacts (or add 1 at a time), personalize texts with data from import/entry (like first name, receive responses and respond from my phone or computer (no additional app required), Schedule texts to get maximum reads, keep history, See contact name in responses if loaded with data. Huge timesaver with personal feel of texting 1 on 1. Handles all the unsubscribe info for me.

Cons

The price just went up And I don’t particularly like paying the new monthly fee for the standard phone number - I liked the cheaper better, but it’s still worth the price for me.

Textmagic is a great resource for enhancing communication with the client. It is very reasonably price and easily pays for itself with increased conversion from inquiry to retention.

Pros

I represent the trucking industry and that requires frequent interactions with truckers. I also represent a lot of young drivers. A lot of truckers and young drivers don't like to use emails. They prefer to text. As I did not wish to use my personal cell phone to conduct business, Textmagic was the perfect solution. Increased communication results in more business. Often I merely need to provide a client with my email address. Rather than spell it out over the phone I can just text it to the client. This is a more accurate way to communicate an email address and again, that facilitates business

Cons

I cannot think of anything about Textmagic that I don't like.

I thought about obtaining an additional cell phone but Textmagic is less expensive.

Easy to use interface, I set up my texts to be sent at certain times and let text magic do the rest.

Cons

I don’t like the iOS app always asking me to enter password after so many logins. Then requiring a text code validation. I’d rather it integrate with Face ID.

It's been a great experience so far. Definitely helps with the time consuming parts of the job that used to take up so much of my day.

Pros

Love being able to setup all my texting for the week on Friday and walk in to the office on Monday morning to see it's already started working for me. Makes life so much easier for us and for the client or potential clients.

Cons

Don't think I've run into a situation that I would say I dislike something about it.

Exceptional! We set it up years ago and have only had to call in once when they were having an issue debiting replenishment payments.

Pros

Everything works seamlessly. It's fast and easy to program on a per need basis.

Cons

Occasionally when I open it, it opens requiring a Google sign in as opposed to the direct Text Magic sign in.

The recent regulatory change requiring all businesses to "register" their texting numbers with a bureaucratic oversight agency (I think it mainly affects USA texting frankly at this time) was certainly a headache for the entire sms industry. But the textmagic people patiently walk me through the steps, and got my textmagic number registered in the proper way. My overall experience with textmagic is that the company has a passion for continually improving the product, making it more user-friendly every day, and above all listening to irritating customer feedback such as mine, in order to make a sincere and speedy effort to implement requested user features. Thank you textmagic. So glad I found you many years ago. Jim

Pros

We have used textmagic for number of years, and find it to be an indispensable part of our business. I personally shopped around a number of different text messaging providers, but none of them has come close to the wonderful user-friendly textmagic control panel and android app (so important to be able to stay in touch with customers when I have my phone with me out of the office, the textmagic; the android app keeps getting better and better). The chat history feature remembers all conversations with the particular client, so gives easy visual context to ongoing texting with that person. The templates feature is extremely valuable in my situation, and I have almost 100 different boilerplate customer replies created over the years and textmagic. Unbelievably useful and time-saving everyday.

Cons

The incoming text message notifications do work perfectly on the android app on my phone. And frankly that is what I mainly rely on. It seems the textmagic has an ongoing challenge allow audible and pop-up notifications to display reliably Windows 10 desktop PCs, however. I understand that this is not really in their control beyond a certain point, and there technical support people and developers have been more than generous with their time to explain to me how they are constantly seeking to overcome the limitations that Microsoft places on any application. So there technical support and developers get 10 stars in my book, and I hope that Microsoft stops tinkering with Windows to mess up otherwise great applications like textmagic.

### "Perfect communication tool"

I was looking for a tool to communicate easily with various groups of employees. I liked what I saw on the website so I figured I would give it a try. Being able to send the same message to my employees all at once is an invaluable tool. We had a server outage and I was able to communicate with everyone to give them status updates without having to call each one.

Pros

It's easy to use. I have multiple groups set up so that I can communicate with specific groups of people instantaneously.

Cons

Nothing. I can't think of any improvements.

Not getting notifications that a message wasn't delivered is a detriment to Text Magic and my ability to do my job effectively. Our text message program with our customer base is pivotal to success within my company so it's vital to know if messages are reaching my customers.

Pros

Ease of setting up and using templates!!

Cons

Unnecessary feature - The email notifications that someone unsubscribed to your messages. If I get a text that says "STOP" from the person sending it, then I don't need an email telling me that they sent a message saying STOP. It's redundant & unnecessary. Necessary/needed feature - You really need to develop an email notification when a text message is undelivered. I've sent several messages that were undelivered and I only discovered that they weren't delivered when I checked my history for a completely different message.

Terrible. When errors happened the customer service took days to respond or did not respond at all

Pros

When it worked, it was acceptable. The interface is easy to use.

Cons

It did not accurately tell me if messages were delivered or not. Sometimes entire batches of messaged were not delivered. You cannot receive picture messages, and the service does not notify sender that their message was not supported.

When we initially weighed our options in terms of outreach, SMS marketing didn't come up at first, as it is naturally assumed to be an archaic means of communication by our current standards. Eventually unable to generate the interest in potential customers by other means, we turned to targeted SMS marketing to get the job done. Although we have no experience with alternative providers, TextMagic has fulfilled it's purpose as a stand-alone SMS marketing platform - and we couldn't be happier with it.

Pros

TextMagic happened to be our first dive into targeted SMS marketing some six months ago, and we have remained with it since. Although SMS marketing doesn't offer immediate feedback in terms of reach like other platforms do, we have seen a significant increase in both new and returning clients over the course of using their services. It turns out SMS is a far more feasible avenue for marketing than we expected, as social media itself is overly saturated, and e-mail inboxes are far too cluttered and chaotic in general for there to be any hope of a marketing email making it to a client.

Cons

There isn't much to say in terms of cons, as TextMagic offers every tool necessary to generate (as well as gauge and manage) interest via text messaging.

TextMagic has been our first and only choice over the period we've utilised this often ignored avenue of marketing; we also happened to discover them through Capterra!

Communication with patients when confirming or trying to make appointments. We started to use TM for marketing, but we now use it for scheduling appointments when we can not get hold of the patient on the phone. We use it for sending messages directly from the clinician to the patient .

Pros

It enhances communication in a really friendly and authentic way. I don't know who we would run our business without it.

Cons

I can't think of any, as I am happy with TM. Later in this survey, there is mention of integrating TM with other products. I would be interested to know what TM integrates with.

### "TextMagic is there when others aren't"

It was August 28th, 2017. Hurricane Harvey had landed in Houston and was causing a record amount of flooding. People were dying, and thousands were still trapped in their homes. I made a simple website for my buddy's church, so his friends could keep track of all of the parishoners that needed rescue. The website quickly went viral however, and soon the entire city was using it as a way to track the rescue cases. Rains continued to pound Houston, and what started as a simple website that I made in 6 hours now was literally the only thing standing in the way of death for thousands of people still trapped by the rising floodwaters. We had a problem, though. Some of the people were getting rescued but not being marked "SAFE" on the site. This resulted in wasted resources, as rescuers would would go to a house and find nobody there, the homeowner having already been rescued hours earlier. We had to come up with a solution to this problem. Luckily, we had all of their phone numbers, so we decided to text them all. It was 2 AM in Texas, and I needed to have it done overnight because we were expecting more waves of signups in the morning. I tried Twilio but nobody answered the phone or replied to my urgent messages. Luckily, TextMagic picked up the phone and I got a working account in minutes. We sent out thousands of SMS overnight. TextMagic was there when others weren't. We ended up saving 25,000 people that week, a number which would have been smaller if not for TextMagic.

Pros

The customer service is excellent. I don't recall the woman's name, but it was the best customer service I have ever received for any product, in a literal life or death situation.

Cons

I couldn't tell at first glance, by looking at the website, if it was ready for enterprise solutions or not

### "A feature rich and easy to manage SMS/MMS tool "

Due to the system's ease of use and robust support pages, I don't believe we have had to reach out for support one time. The delivery rates for the SMS/MMS' are nearly 100 percent consistently, and overall it has been a real winner for the company and the staff that consistently use it.

Pros

After looking at and testing several SMS/MMS applications, we found Text Magic to be the easiest to build out and implement into our multi-department, varying needs, company culture. The process seemed more intuitive and seamless than all of the other options out there, from uploading our contacts with specific field names, creating user accounts, purchasing and setting up unique phone numbers for different users and departments, and the rollout. The key features we use and value most are: 1. Contact List options allow us to segment our lists into prospect status versus existing customer status and more. 2. Sub Account Management 3. SMS and MMS options which enable us to send graphic content for promotional purposes 4. Reporting and audit features to monitor usage and customer responses

Cons

Though the software does have an MMS option, it does not allow the user to send bulk MMS messages, which would be nice for marketing to new customers or sending graphic content to our existing customer base without having to do it one contact at a time.

Reason for choosing Textmagic

Text Magic offered as many features that met our needs but appeared much easier to set up and roll out than the other options.

### "Perfect Addition to the Business!! "

Love it!!! Best source to have in the business.

Pros

The software is super helpful and easy to use. It sends texts very quick and lets you know if it was delivered and received. It's much easier then picking up the phone to call someone for a simple issue. It is also very affordable.

Cons

It's difficult to print an entire text conversation. It would be easier if when you hit print on the browser it printed the whole screen. Instead it jumbles up the text and you can't see the whole thing. (I use Google Chrome) I usually screen shot the page and print it in word, which makes it very tiny. Same thing for individual texts, you have to download them to print. Just an extra step, but could be easier.

Pros

Not very tech savvy, but text magic was extremely easy to use, and what I didn't know or understand is explained within the program. Anytime I needed help, customer service responds immediately! Great service, great program for our research needs!
