Overall the experience is fairly smooth, I think a feature to collaborate simultaneously on documents would be amazing.

Pros

I like that it is integrated with all my other platforms such as outlook, especially when it comes to saving documents sent in an email.

Cons

1\. I dislike that you cannot work on documents at the same time as your colleagues (as you can in sharepoint). 2. I dislike that the only PDF reader available is Adobe - I find Adobe extremely slow and difficult to work with 3. I dislike that you cannot drag and drop documents into my emails, I either have to make it send in an email or export the document and then drag and drop from my downloads into my email 4. I dislike that when I download something from my browser I cannot drag an drop it from there into leap, I have to open up my files and take it from there. 5. I dislike that in the "preview" option, some documents will show the whole document (I've seen up to 20 pages) but sometimes it will only show me 5 pages. It is super inconsistent and frustrating and I see no reason why we cannot just see the whole document. It should also be set up differently so that I can "flip" through documents quickly like you can in sharepoint - ie side to side arrows

### "We recommend LEAP!"

March 13, 2026

5.0

Convenient and easy to use. LEAP is constantly adding new functions and improving the product. Five stars.

Pros

The reporting options are extremely helpful and we appreciate the integrated online payments via FeeWise. Reporting Groups make it easy to group and track specific matters. Additionally, client success reps are quick to respond about issues and communicate or work to implement suggestions.

Cons

Rate assignment is time consuming, and there is no way to set a rate to apply to all Partners, all associates, etc. but instead must do so for each timekeeper individually. Manageable with a small firm but would scale poorly. Also, there is no way to transfer funds directly from Operating to Trust.

LEAP was the apparent successor of PC Law. PC Law functioned more or less but was not updated and offered limited functionality.

### "LEAP Feedback"

March 17, 2026

4.0

LEAP is a great platform across a variety of areas of law. The staff are intelligent and have good insight into what needs to be done across the platform to keep across of changing technology. I appreciate the extra mile that the staff go.

Pros

Always evolving with new advances and staying abreast the industry changes in all areas of law. Gets involved as an Educator in the legal space. The outlook integration is perfect and helps for billing purposes by capturing time and fees in automated entries while keeping emails securely stored outside of Microsoft also. Client management tools are great and able to assist quickly to determine if any conflict of interest may appear when discussing new matters with new clients.

Cons

Sometimes the new software is not a good fit for busy practitioners, and it strays away from its core purposes trying to be everything to everyone. A recent example of this was the VIC SOA changes where it appeared that it was rolled out without actual feedback from those that work in it as it made significant more work for Practitioners without a greater outcome.

### "Leap as an important tool for practice management"

March 23, 2026

5.0

Very good. The support is excellent; she has gotten me back on track promptly an efficiently. Billing system works well.

Pros

Consolidating all case files into one platform. It also makes it easy to look in other attorney's files if they are out of the office and the client needs help.

Cons

Sometimes templates are hard to work with as far as formatting. I need to count on my paralegal to revise and format.

### "Honesty is the Best Quality: the good and the irksome"

March 25, 2026

4.0

Overall, I have found the customer service on the implementation end quite straightforward and helpful in getting everything into LEAP in a timely fashion. The start-up was time consuming but ultimately worth it. If staff and lawyers take the time to use the tools available in LEAP, it is incredibly useful and saves time. The integration with accounting is ideal and allows a one-stop shop for a modest firm like mine. Overall, I have had a positive experience working with LEAP and any other service would have to work very hard to tempt me away.

Pros

There are many features I enjoy about LEAP, including the integrated accounting system, the useful categories and document management features and the ease of use. In particular, it allows for collaboration across the office and ease of client and file management. It is a secure system that our lawyers can easily use from home and remote locations. Simple tasks like Bills of Costs, what used to take ages are now done in minutes with only modest edits required to complete. Staff really enjoy working in LEAP once they have taken the time to familiarize themselves. New staff (who haven't worked in Law previously) report that they find it easy to use. It is relatively intuitive to figure out what it can do and then build out your skills. I also enjoy how it is using AI for truly useful purposes like helping me locate a specific email or references within a dense file. I don't need AI to write for me so using it for that kind of file organization really helps to advance my file without wasting my time. I have been stymied by the tech several times since my new office opened three years ago so I have had to access customer support several times and always found them to be timely and responsive. Final note, as we just renewed for the first time, we were apprehensive but found the discussion meetings helpful and the renewal costs to be reasonable. We honestly feared worse and were overall pleased.

Cons

I have a few small pet peeves to keep a review fair and honest. The default to Adobe is irritating since we use another PDF service that is more cost sensitive. In addition there are other software services and programs we use and we cannot directly transfer from one to the other. Also we cannot upload court documents without pulling them out of LEAP, putting them on our desktops and then uploading to the Court services system. This is irritating but in the overall scheme of document management, not particularly onerous. The other pet peeve I have is that when there is an update of the LEAP software, we have to update with our local IT service provider as it frequently jams up our cybersecurity. This has been remedied by simply notifying our IT service provider every time LEAP updates to be prepared to address any issues. This happens pretty much every time LEAP updates and they often do not provide notice of a forthcoming update so we can make sure our IT service provider is available. We have a great IT service provider so not an issue but I could see this being a problem for a firm in a smaller centre or who is providing their own IT support.

### "Taking the Leap"

February 17, 2026

5.0

It has transformed us as a business, particularly from a management perspective, given the window that it provides.

Pros

Very user friendly and synchs well with Microsoft. it offers a huge amount of management tools, which are tremendously useful indeed. the back up support are quick and effective.

Cons

No issues really, save that we do tend to have to keep on top of up spec'ing our IT to ensure Leap runs effectively, although this is no bad thing really insofar as our stock tends to get refreshed and upgraded regularly.

### "A Smart All-In-One Solution for Modern Law Firms"

March 11, 2026

4.0

LEAP is a comprehensive, well-rounded practice management platform that covers pretty much everything a law firm needs; from case and document management to billing, automation, and client verification. The support team is genuinely helpful and having a dedicated person to turn to makes a real difference. Yes, the price is on the higher end, but for what it offers, it's a worthwhile investment for any firm looking to streamline how they work. It also includes DivorceMate for the family lawyers so you don't need to spend more getting a separate licence.

Pros

LEAP really shines when it comes to keeping your practice organised. Document management and client/case management are both really solid, and the AI and automation features genuinely save you time on the day-to-day stuff. The IDV tools make verifying clients remotely quick and easy, which is a nice touch. The billing side is well covered too! Trust accounting and other financial features are all built in, so you're not juggling multiple systems. On top of that, you get a designated support person who's always on hand to help with any issues or walk you through features you're not sure about. Tech support has been great overall.

Cons

It's not the cheapest option out there, but honestly you do get what you pay for. The only real gripe is that it can lag or slow down occasionally, which can be a little frustrating when you're in the middle of something.

### "Good product with good price"

March 5, 2026

5.0

Very good. All in one software for a good price. I am using it daily for my law practice and all day I am on LEAP.

Pros

It is comprehensive, offering lots of features including practice management, accounting and document preparation. I am also using LEAP AI a lot. Conflict check is also very helpful.

Cons

Sometimes it is difficult to deal with settings and find the correct form, journal or feature. I have been using this software since its first day in Canada and still I do not know some of the features. But, there are lots of articles on the web about LEAP and customer support is responsive.

### "LEAP IS IMPROVING - WELL DONE!"

March 18, 2026

4.0

Initially I expected more of LEAP, I was disappointed but appreciated what it could do. I tried twice to not renew. Now I am glad I did not renew because a lot of effort seems to be putting into improving LEAP products, thank you! I am concerned about the price for small firms like mine. I am also concerned about the payment of 30% for the use of the AI Assistant. Also, only relatively smart and tech savvy people will respond to it. Having teaching experience, there will be people that will love it and those who will not respond to it. some people need human support. But it will be great for some firms and clients.

Pros

I am loving LEAP Law Y. I use it constantly. I do my own verification where case law is referred to and download the cases that seem relevant. I continue asking additional relevant questions until I have asked all the questions that I think are relevant, and download all the cases that seem relevant, then I can leisurely go through the information and tailor it to different matters. I love research!

Cons

Well, sometimes LEAP does not get along with Outlook and things go wrong when there are Microsoft Updates. LEAP is constantly changing, which is both good and bad. I used to struggle with changes and get very frustrated. I suggested that LEAP let users know when there is an update and run a zoom to teach people new features etc... I try to watch as many zooms as I can, but this work leaves us all so time poor and over worked. so effectively LEAP listened and reduced what I least like about LEAP. Currently I am struggling with Balance Sheet Plus. I really need some help with that. Zoom meetings when attendees are asked to follow along move too quickly. I was a teacher for 28 years. Every instruction must be given twice. My advice is if you want participation, target less and give people a chance to keep up otherwise we have all wasted our time. I shared this with \[sensitive content hidden\] , he took it well, but will anything change??? I have friends who left and I think some people who have left might come back if they know what improvements have been made. the cost is also a factor. Can you bring the price down for small firms???

### "User-Friendly, Efficient, and Worth It – With a Few Trade-Offs"

March 19, 2026

4.0

I personally love using LEAP. We have used it since 2022 and I have seen a great deal of improvements. It's easy to navigate and it's easy to train new firm members on. Support is knowledgeable. Yes it is not a perfect program and they have their share of cons but so does every other platform out there. I would definitely recommend LEAP.

Pros

I do the bookkeeping and I also work as a paralegal so I have used both the front and back end of Leap. It's user friendly, has great features, easy to search, excellent time tracking. Trust accounting is inside LEAP. Cloud based so it's easy to access your files and you can log in from anywhere. Everything related to a file matter is stored in one place - ie. emails, documents, notes, billing so it's easy to find information quickly. Regular updates and improvements

Cons

You can't undo a reconciliation and fix it so you need to make sure you do it right the first time. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get the right support. For instance, you have to go through chat then if they can't figure it out escalation takes a few days. there are times when i need someone to remote into my computer to see what the problem is at that moment. It would be more helpful if chat could remote in to view the issue and perhaps help solve it at that time. Challenges during data migration from PC Law which require work arounds.

### "Automation and WealthCounsel Included!? Sign Me Up!"

March 20, 2026

5.0

There is a learning curve to Leap, but it strikes me as much more capable than either clio or practice panther. The practice areas are built out with fields for the people and data you want to track, which enables you to automate documents. Document automation itself is much better than with Clio Manage and Practice Panther. When you figure in the sum you'd pay for all of the apps you'd need to buy to get Clio to do what Leap does, it makes Leap price competive. Biggest cost savings is due to Leap's acquisition of WealthCounsel, which normally costs $450 per month per user. Leap costs $200 per month per user and it INCLUDES WealthCounsel! The desktop app is clunky and it's not ADA-compliant in that you can't zoom in to make the small tables and text legible when looking at a matter. And when you use the main menu for the app using a zoom feature causes components to disappear out of the viewing frame. This is a big deal for visually impaired people and it is common in many apps and Web sites Leap has been buggy. I can't save PDFs from Adobe directly to Leap even though i have the Leap add-in installed. And with Microsoft products i get recurring error messages and they sometimes get sick in a loop. But Leap's customer and tech support are very receptive to customer input and responsive to tech issues and problems. I know that Leap has an online app, but my Leap contact says the desktop version at present is more capable, especially in document automation. I look forward to using the online product. From the little bit that I've played with it it's well designed visually and logical in its layout. I hope that it is tricked out as far as ADA compliance goes.

Pros

I signed on with Leap because Wealth Counsel is packaged with Leap for a total price of $200/month per seat. Leap has some real strengths. Document automation is much easier with Leap than it was with Clio. For various practice areas Leap has pre-programmed tables to ID and connect everybody associated with the matter. For estate planning, for instance, Leap features prompts for you to fill in all family members, all heirs, all devisees, all assets of various types, all executors, all agents,... Then you click a button and it imports all that data into wealth counsel, where you complete the interview and create the estate plan as you normally would with wealth counsel. So far, i have not had to create many custom fields in Leap because the practice areas are pre-loaded with the roles and data I need to track. In document automation, you can create a replicating table that enables you to program one row in a table and it will automatically create unlimited rows. So if you've got 10 heirs you program the data you need into your Word table using Leap's add-in Tab and Leap will automatically pull data for as many heirs as you've entered into Leap. I have done 10 or 15 estate plans with Leap + Wealth Counsel and look forward to doing more as i build that practice area. The integrations that exist are largely built-out by Leap, so they aren’t as buggy as some of the hundreds of apps available for clio. LEAP released a Zapier integration last year so you can make it play with pretty much any app. This is a work in progress for my firm. Leap's AI tool, LawY, is stellar. I've used it to tweak my fee agreements and to draft a Demand Letter. It analyzes all of the data saved to the matter, does some legal analysis (which you MUST verify -- it does hallucinate case law), and creates very readable text.

Cons

Desktop App is not ADA compliant for the visually impaired. Desktop App is buggy with Adobe in that I can't save directly from Adobe to Leap. I have to use Leap to import PDFs from File Explorer. Desktop app's integration with Microsoft Word and Excel is buggy and error messages sometimes get stuck in a loop that requires use of task manager to close Leap and restart it. There is a steep learning curve to Leap, but once you get the knack for it the software works well. It took me a while to acclimate to Leap’s treatment of contacts. Now I like the way it handles contact "cards" and "people."

### "Leap Experience"

February 23, 2026

4.0

It has been decent and average. They do have good responsive customer service and agents and it has gotten better since they first launched in Canada as we were an early adopter. Bug fixes are continuing to improve. The original PCL transition process was costly as we had 30 years of data to port over.

Pros

I like the efficiency of having all emails stored to file automatically and all files for all practices and the accounting across the firm under one platform. AI is helpful to find emails.

Cons

The cost of the service and all the ancillary software that is needed for it to operate (Quick books, Microsoft 365, Adobe pro etc). It really drives up your monthly technology costs. Also, the fact that the Wills platform and conveyancing platform (Closer) is yet an additional per file cost and it was not sold that way to me originally. I was told originally it could be used for both as part of the LEAP platform.

### "LEAP - A Comprehensive Solution for Real Estate Law and Beyond"

March 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, we are truly pleased with LEAP. We are constantly seeing growth and new programs being added that are making our practice run smoother and in turn, allowing us to service clients to our absolute best ability without getting bogged down with the admin side of things.

Pros

As a real estate clerk, I find that LEAP Legal Software, along with its integration with conveyancing software, keeps my workflow clean and straightforward. I can open a matter in LEAP and use it to send emails, draft letters, open a matter in Closer, and manage the accounting side of things—all without duplicating work. This is not only a significant time-saver but also crucial in avoiding typos that can lead to simple yet costly mistakes. LEAP allows us to save all emails, client documents, and correspondence directly to the matter. This makes it easy to access everything whether working in the office, remotely, or on the go via their mobile app. It also provides a secure way to share sensitive information by creating upload folders, which is much safer and more efficient than sending documents via email. Another feature worth highlighting is LEAP’s AI integration, which can review an entire matter and assist with tasks such as drafting letters or creating specific signing documents. Lastly, LEAP places a strong emphasis on client relationships. They regularly host workshops and presentations that are relevant to the current market, informative, and genuinely enjoyable to attend.

Cons

My only critique at this time is that, due to the size of the program, the startup can take a little bit of time (albeit only minutes) or some of the plugins in MS Office Suite can contribute to slower run time. That said, there is the option to access the program swiftly via the browser if something is immediately needed.

### "LEAP, a trail blazer in its sector. "

March 18, 2026

5.0

I've been with LEAP since I opened my practice in 8 years ago. What started as a necessity to find a practice management system to have the basic features and security I was after has turned into a strong partnership together. There software is no longer just the basic necessities' and is now a trial blazer in the legal sector. They provide great customer support and I still have a relationship with the LEAP client manager I had when setting the firm up.

Pros

LEAP is very close to being a 'one-stop shop'. There is only one element of my busy family law practice that LEAP cannot assist with, but the good news is they are development a product to cover the gap. Soon it will truly be a one-stop shop for family law firms. I love all the data migration and integration between different products so to limit double handling.

Cons

I think it's fair to see that LEAP is not the cheapest practice management software available for law firms. The old adage 'you pay for what you get' comes to mind. Whilst it is not free to use LEAP, and whilst there maybe other cheaper competitors, as the product is so excellent, your staff will be much more productive, especially in the world of artificial intelligence.

When I spoke to the other students at my Practice Management Course, the people who didn't use LEAP loved the costs savings, but actually wished they were on LEAP. The people using LEAP grumbled about the fees, but were happy with the product. I chose excellence and trustworthiness over cost.

We were previously party of a multi-national law firm, and set up our own business once it 'closed down' its family law division. The practice management software used was not readily available for small firms. I discovered LEAP by asking around other students at the Practice Management Course.

### "LEAP is a great tool"

March 5, 2026

5.0

Overall, I like the system and I'm glad that my firm is using it. Having come from other firms using different software, this is my favourite.

Pros

I appreciate having everything organized in one system. I like the precedents tool. I enjoy the built in AI assistant. It is a fairly user-friendly system.

Cons

Someone created a Financial Statement on their own account, under the file name and I was unable to access it from my own account.

### "Solid program and fantastic customer service! "

March 18, 2026

5.0

Overall, we are quite happy with LEAP. I think the program is much more solid than our prior program. It is stressful making a change and it takes time to be comfortable with a billing program but I am happy our firm chose LEAP. The customer service is amazing. If you end up with \[sensitive content hidden\] as your rep, you are in luck!

Pros

Love how easy it is to locate a file number for both active and closed cases. Emailing invoices is a great feature we didn't previously have. Customer support via having a direct client success manager to reach out to is critical. We have had a few over the past few years but they are all good. Current rep is \[sensitive content hidden\] and he is a keeper! Pro and con is there are about 3-5 ways you can do the same thing (so you need to pick the way the suits you best). That is also a con because it can be difficult to remember what you did previously unless it is something you do often. Nice that LEAP integrates an online payment system (Fee Wise) with QR codes on invoices. Love how easy it is to correct invoices. I probably should have moved this up on the list! VERY efficient. This used to take me a full day and now it is a few hours. Data migration from PCLaw to LEAP was relatively seemless. LEAP invests the time necessary to train new users. I was happy with the training and having a rep to reach out to was so helpful and gave me peace of mind. Our rep actually walked me through bills for the first few months.

Cons

The conflict search feature is flawed. It only pulls actual opened clients so unless a client has retained you and you open a file OR create a card for someone, they will not appear in your conflict search. Odd because this is one of few programs designed specifically for law firms. LEAP works in batches so each attorney has its own batch. For us, because we have several attys, it takes a substantial amount of time to generate and after a few years, I still have a cheat sheet / checklist I go through when completing bills. Had to learn to use not only LEAP but also purchase and learn QBO (which is not user friendly at all). Time consuming with monthly reimbursement checks for attorneys who say purchase a supply and have mileage related to a client - that requires two different checks. LEAP check for matter related reimbursement and QBO check for "other" reimbursement. Late fee / overdue invoices are terrible. LEAP generates one late fee invoice for each overdue invoice so our clients that are making small payments over the course of years may have 12 invoices generated in one month. It is absurd / time consuming. There is also no feature you can select to exclude an invoice (we have about 100 court appointments that we have to bill at the end of the case - federal criminal cases). To exclude these from billing, I have to manaully uncheck the invoices.

The support team is very professional. All the staffs at leap is very helpful and professional and will remote assist us whenever a problem arise with leap.

Pros

One stop shop can order searches, have all the need for all areas of law. Having all the Court Form and Land Title Office form and AI searches, so make the legal professional field much easy to work on it.

Cons

I have used Leap since 1995 to present for the past 30 years, I get used to Leap program and will not change. They have By Lawyers, InfoTrack, Rapid Pay, and all other facilities so good and able to use and make the firm function much more profesisonal.

### "The Administrative Point of View"

March 27, 2026

4.0

Good, on the basis that I had been moved from a well functioning old system. I have had plenty of support along the way and am now settled and very happy to come in every day and do the work I am paid to do with LEAP by my side.

Pros

There is always help when needed and every one is friendly and patient. Any technical problems or training is easy to access, when ever needed. My recent training being a prime example and led by the most accommodating, friendly, patient and engaging \[sensitive content hidden\]. The system can hold much more information than ever needed, which is always a plus and covers all angles of work in the legal industry. It is fairly easy to learn and easy on the eye when multitasking with the many clients. Easy to amend, delete or add files or documents and has a good relationship with outlook.

Cons

I work on the administration side, so it can be a little more of a runaround when trying to do simple tasks within this area of work. It can be a little tricky doing simple maneuvers, such as merging or maneuvering clients, documents or files. I usually have to work directly through the Client Card on LEAP unlike the Fee Earners working through Matters. I have found that for storing physical Deeds and Documentation with a LEAP reference, is not so easy to follow and also clear labels are not produced automatically. The LEAP Reference is not as efficient for the many paper documents needed to be stored long and short term. There could be another way is any other way that I have not yet discovered. I am fully aware that there is so much more to LEAP than I know already or will ever need to use. Every day's a school day, so much more to grasp even after 3 years. I am open to offers/ideas of any other reference storing methods on LEAP.

### "We love \[sensitive content hidden\]"

March 18, 2026

5.0

We’ve been using this software for 8 years, and what truly sets this company apart is not just the product—it’s the people behind it that have taken ownership of assisting us with anything we have needed. Over time, certain team members have consistently shown attentiveness and a genuine appreciation for our long-standing relationship. That level of recognition and care (when provided) has made a meaningful difference to us and does not go unnoticed. I especially want to highlight \[sensitive content hidden\], who has been nothing short of exceptional. He is incredibly kind, patient, and always willing to take the time to walk through any issue or question, no matter how big or small. His approach makes you feel supported rather than rushed, and that level of service is rare. He is always ready to step in and that is what has made the biggest difference to us. In a world where customer service often feels transactional, some of the team members and \[sensitive content hidden\] in particular—reminds you what it means to truly value your clients. It has meant a lot to us , and it’s a big part of why we continue to trust and rely on this company.

Pros

I really love \[sensitive content hidden\], our client Success Manager. He is absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond to assist us in solving all issues.

Cons

We need quicker, more responsive support with LEAP issues from Leap Helpdesk, including access to knowledgeable experts who can efficiently diagnose and resolve problems without delays or repeated follow-ups. Having someone resolve software issues the same day would be a game changer for our relationship with Leap.

### "A Comprehensive Practice Management Solution for Modern Law Firms"

March 11, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience with LEAP has been very positive. It is a comprehensive legal practice management platform that helps streamline file management, document creation, and billing. Having a centralised system for managing matters and client information has improved organisation and efficiency across the firm. Beyond the software itself, LEAP particularly the LEAP family law team demonstrates a genuine commitment to supporting firms and their staff. They regularly host CPD sessions, forums, and conferences that are included in the subscription, which adds significant value as firms receive more than just client management software.

Pros

LEAP provides an all-in-one practice management system that integrates matter management, document automation, time recording, and billing. The document generation and precedent library are particularly valuable, as they save significant time and help ensure consistency across files. The Family Lawyers in our team cannot live without Parenting Calendar, Balance sheet + and Ruffle (including in your LEAP subscription) which has changed the game in terms of efficiency in property settlement matters. The ability to store all correspondence, documents, and notes within a matter makes file management and team collaboration very efficient. It also integrates seamlessly with our phone system, allowing phone calls to be automatically recorded for billing and generating file notes directly within the relevant matter, which saves time and reduces administrative work.

Cons

There can be a learning curve for new users, and some features are not always as intuitive as they could be. At times, updates or new functionality require additional training to ensure the team is making full use of the available tools.

### "Great and easy to use software"

February 24, 2026

5.0

Pros

I think the phrase "work smart, not hard" was likely invented by LEAP. The interface provides many easy to use functions. Something as simple as having cards along the side of the matter I can easily send a letter or email to the intended recipient. Working in a Private Client team, LEAP also makes it easier to fill out IHT 400 forms by creating the forms through its software. I have, more recently, been making use of the integrated AI, this can be to ask simple questions where I need a quick answer, or if it's something more complicated making sure the AI answer is correct by referring the question to a qualified professional. The AI is also very useful for creating specific documents where we do not have precedents. I have also been using the time recording feature, and while I have dreaded time recording for a long time, LEAP makes the process so simple. I also use WillSuite on a daily business and it's the best Will writing software I've used.

Cons

My one complaint is that I cannot drag any attachments from emails directly through to my LEAP matter, I have to save the document separately onto file explorer or save it directly onto the matter and it's roughly 30 seconds longer.

### "LEAP is a Powerhouse"

March 23, 2026

5.0

I have been using LEAP for a number of years now and have been given no reason to stop anytime soon. I have been incredibly satisfied with the software and intend on using it for many more years.

Pros

It has a robust feature set, giving the user the ability to take as little--or as much--from it as he or she needs. It has a wonderful development team behind it who are always looking for ways to continually improve the software.

Cons

It fails to support integration with Google Calendar--instead exclusively integrating with Microsoft Outlook. Our firm uses Google to drive our email and calendar--as do many small firms. I'd very much like to see LEAP expand their compatibility to include the other major calendering app (i.e., Google).

After many years with PCLaw there was a built in apprehension for us. While we became familiar with the system that apprehension reduced. When we came on line with \[sensitive content hidden\], it vanished. Strong system with many more features and benefits then we use.

Pros

Very Secure platform with no downtime, except for preplanned and advanced notice of maintain taken place during off hours. The Data Migration from PCLaw was handled with good communication and care. We had been with PCLaw for over 12years. The Program is feature rich, with multiple aspects to deliver information and record events in matters. Search Functionality has depth and multiple ways to drill down to information needed. This quick access to information when discussing and actions with Clients is a wonderful tool in client confidence. Customer support is easy to engage in on line and fast. The Client Success Manager are very knowledgeable and helpful in a very respectful way. Our Client Success Manager \[sensitive content hidden\] has been such a valuable and important source to us that he is the epitome of Customer Service and Care.

Cons

### "Pros and cons of LEAP"

March 20, 2026

4.0

Overall my experience with LEAP is positive because it provides a convenient one-stop-shop way to manage client files but it still leaves quite a bit of room for improvement on the technical front so it is fully user-friendly and smoothly navigable for users. LEAP information resources, eg. university webinars/written articles/course modules could greatly help in that regard.

Pros

Secure all-in-one platform with built-in AI for modern day legal practice with built-in backup and relevant legal tools like safe document sharing, document drafting, and research.

Cons

Not user friendly, full of glitches. Integration with MS Office applications is very glitchy: saving documents into LEAP from different applications like Outlook, PDF or Word is not intuitive (small window pops up without clear destination folder). Dockets in LEAP accounting need to be input numerous times for proper submission. LEAP's worst limitation is that it relies on the classic version of Outlook which is now outdated and as such Outlook hampers the full use of MS Office applications due to LEAP's current restriction. All windows in LEAP automatically open in non-adjusted window size warranting manual readjustment of window size each time, which is cumbersome and inefficient. Search history is Matter AI chat is not accessible to other user. LEAP should integrate General Accounting instead of requiring QuickBooks. Tools like legal costs calculator should be much more easier to find and access. Online LEAP resources should be much more systematically organized, accessible and navigable to to help users quickly find and access search items. Instructions for LEAP tools should be clear given current confusion with LEAP jurisdictions (UK, Australia, Canada etc). The Bundle Pro application needs a lot of technical improvement. Often trouble navigating to main file menu within matters. LEAP customer service should be more available and timely in their responses for issues that come up for users.

Switched from

[PCLaw](https://www.capterra.com/p/228264/PCLaw/)

Because it was outmoded (it was the best at the time but it didn't keep up with AI changes, Cloud storage etc). It was a seamless transition because we figured that LEAP would know about PC Law. LEAP is much more sophisticated than PC Law, although it needs continued improvements to stay current and best.

### "BC family law–specific breakdown of pros and cons of LEAP Legal Software"

March 24, 2026

4.0

LEAP is a strong option for BC family lawyers if you want an all-in-one system with solid DivorceMate integration and are prepared to invest time in setup and training. If you’re looking for something more intuitive or flexible out of the box, it may not be the best fit. Overall: powerful, but not plug-and-play.

Pros

LEAP’s biggest strength is its integration with DivorceMate. For family law in BC, that’s a major advantage. It streamlines support calculations, agreements, and court forms in a way that reduces jumping between systems. The all-in-one structure (matter management, billing, document automation) is also appealing, especially for small firms trying to keep everything centralized. Document automation and precedents can save a lot of time once everything is set up properly. Routine documents like separation agreements and correspondence become much faster to produce. Support is generally responsive, and onboarding resources are there if you’re willing to invest the time.

Cons

The learning curve is real. LEAP is not particularly intuitive at the start, and getting your workflows and templates running smoothly can take significant effort. Customization can feel limited or cumbersome unless you’re well-trained in the system. There are also occasional performance issues such as lag, glitches, or things not saving properly - which can be frustrating in a busy practice.
